  1. HTEP: -Step Up - Mike's verses absolutely destroy -And One - Chester is giving off pure raw energy...Mike's end rap owns, the bridge is sick, great first song for when Chaz joined up w/the rest of them -Part Of Me - Totally sick, they need to play it live. The demo is better but it's still very nice. -Carousel - Love the song but I think the demo is a bit better. Very interesting lyrics. -High Voltage - Great rapping but the remix owns it -Technique - Doesn't do much for me of course since it's so short. Still decent. HT: -Papercut - My favorite all time LP song. They start HT off perfectly, the entire song is just fucking great. One of my favorite songs ever. -A Place For My Head - I like this almost as much as Papercut. Very very very good song, the bridge and ending are totally energetic. -In The End - Got me addicted to LP, what can I say, this song is excellent. -With You - I love the Joe part in the song, Mike's verses are good, the instrumental is A+ -Runaway - I like the bridge in this song. Intro is pretty cool. -Pushing Me Away - I like the whole 'Chester sings and Mike says a few words here and there' thing in the verses, haha. It's like From The Inside. The song is really nice. -Points Of Authority - Average song, pretty cool but live it is really sweet. -Crawling - Hated this until 2004, when I took an obsession with it. -One Step Closer - I never really liked this much when it came out, it was a little raw but I grew into it and liked it a lot. -By Myself - It's good but I haven't found anything that special about it. I like the 03 intro to it, but otherwise it's just pretty basic. -Cure For The Itch - Joe does great on his first big instrumental song debut. -Forgotten - Never did much for me, I don't like the beginning. The bridge is good but the Xero demo for it called Rhinestone has the acoustic guitar at the end which is interesting. More later.
  2. Check out Mike's list of 10 songs from 2008 (and previous) that he likes. You can view the list here. Of course 'Cyanide' by Metallica is great, and I love 'Waiting Room' as well, but this one got my attention because when I got The Roots' latest CD, it was an instant hit for me: "2. "Rising Down," The Roots feat. Most Def and Styles P "For a while it felt like they were trying to do the mainstream commercial thing, but the Roots and mainstream commercial aren't really meant for each other. This song is a monster: very conscious, very dark, very political. I don't think, like, Soulja Boy could pull it off." The YouTube version of the song is . He also linked up a nice sampler on one of his newest blog posts. If you have the patience to listen to the songs, you can listen to them here. There's some interesting ones in this mix that I like. How is everyone's January going? Freezing? Snowy?

  6. Matt sent in this article from 102.1 The Edge.... "Linkin Park are ready to tear up the blueprint. The band made a creative jump with "Minutes To Midnight" after doing two near-identical records, and is once again pushing boundaries. Co-vocalist Mike Shinoda tells Sun Media that at present he is producing their next disc, but may welcome production assistance at some point. Shinoda says, "We're still excited about experimenting, trying to push the boundaries of what people know Linkin Park to be. It's hard to say where we're going from here but I definitely feel like 'Minutes To Midnight' opened up lots of doors for us, sonically and creatively." The band will continue working on new music this year."
  7. Awesome trailer; looks like a pretty sweet movie actually.
  8. You can upload them to like Sendspace or an FTP or something and we can have them featured in the forums for download. I really don't care if you share music videos, that's not a problem in my book. If it requires making the forums private again for just members, then I can do that, but I'd like us to be able to share music vids in here.
  9. http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=vzxHCBoZRGQ Papercut in high quality. Looks awesome. Anyone have any links to the others in a quality like this?

  13. Ryan from Julien-K has posted a message here on the Julien-K forums for all of the fans. The release date of the album is now March 10, 2009. He says something special will happen on February 17, 2009 (the date the US converts to digital from analog), so we will have to wait to see what that is. He promises that it is something that we have been waiting for. Also, the album is executive produced by none other than Chester himself. He says they will tour this year, and concludes with "Thank you so much for your patience - it's been torture for us as well. Now fucking take a deep breath, buck up, and get ready for a shitload of music to come out." He also mentions that the band will indeed go on tour this year. You can now preorder the album here: Death To Analog (Regular Edition) $12.98 Death To Analog (Limited Edition 2 CD) $14.98 So you all know, the Limited Edition 2 CD release contains the 'Death To Digital' remix album as well, which of course has this track: 09. Death to Analog (Mike Shinoda Remix) Excited?

  15. great one post the rest when you get time. maybe one here one there, etc. id love to read the rest. this is cool.
  16. Original post by Trent before this happened. File this one under lost opportunities. I'm very proud of the show we've put together for this tour and have been working hard the last few months to find a way to capture it. I had an amazing situation lined up that would have allowed me to film the show in 3D with James Cameron's team for a theatrical release as well as DVD / BluRay, etc. We had an extra date added to the tour that we were going to give away all the tickets for and have a filming party / thank you show. I made two critical mistakes. One was to approach a certain record company that owns some of the song rights about producing / funding. The second was to allow said company to gently caress around as usual for months before saying um... no. We then achieved the impossible by finding alternate production / funding but the timetable is too rushed to get it filmed comfortably with the remaining time left on the tour. This tour and a lot of the personnel involved finish at the end of this leg, so we can't push filming into Jan / Feb. Deep breath... This was an amazing tour and production - certainly the best thing I've ever been involved with and likely the final tour for NIN on this scale. Thank you to those who came out to see it and forgive me for having a Kanye West moment, but this was FOR SURE the best show of the year and any bullshit end-of-the-year poll you may read in the next few weeks that says otherwise simply has it wrong. Those of you who saw it know I'm right. The shows we have announced in 2009 and any more that may be announced will be a completely different approach with some different personnel and will likely be the last for the foreseeable future. posted by trent reznor at 4:28pm
  17. Gonna announce a cut-off date soon for 2.0 updates. After that, we need to go through all 2.0 pages and compare them with 3.0, then make final changes to 2.0 before I convert it all to 4.0
  18. Found this today: As they head into 2009, LINKIN PARK are hoping the year will produce a new album. But frontman MIKE SHINODA says they want it to be more than a basic record. He explains, somewhat cryptically, "the goal is to do something bigger than just a record, not just release it as an album but release it as an album and some." Source here. Thoughts? It's a concept album, but what else? A TV series? A two-part album? A remix album and a regular album combined? An interactive album? Any other ideas? Edit: A user submitted this from LPZion.org: "This is the most interesting part of the interview from polish Teraz Rock magazine. Article is called "Linkin Park - Pterodactyl's flight" and it's, interview, about new album. Here are the words of Joe Hahn:" "It's a new audiovisual experience. We try to use new technology to be the leading player in what will become the music business. Get ready to interactive audiovisual project. This will be the culmination of everything you went through with video clips and so on. This will be happen in some kind of fantasy world." It is not known whether the multimedia project is a concept album which was announced by Chester Bennington." Source here.
  19. Jesus christ check out Mike in the black hoodie and black hat. Bad-fucking-ass. I ran across this on my computer and immediately had to upload.
  20. I've now set it so that guests may read the entire forum. We'll see how this goes. I just thought I'd throw up a post alerting people to the change. I do realize some people like to lurk and that's fine. Depending on whether or not this works out, I might adjust it so that you have to be registered to view downloads. I don't think I'll do that because we rarely host anything ourselves (outside of the concerts we release), and it won't affect our bandwidth. Hopefully this encourages more guests/visitors who are not registered to actually register and become a part of the site. When I was browsing the Board Index that shows who is online, I realized there were quite a lot of guests and they were just reading the news. Now they are able to read the whole forum, so we'll see if it pleases anyone enough to register, heh. There are actually more guests than members that read the forum (there's usually more guests than members who are online), and that's definitely proven by the unique visitors per day we get.
  21. http://www.lplive.net/julienk.php Yes but we cover: -Linkin Park -Fort Minor -Dead By Sunrise -Chester's many guest appearances -Julien-K Julien-K because DBS/JK are pretty related. We will not cover any other bands (unless LP launches another solo project). I just made an exception to JK since DBS is just JK with Chester. It really bothers you if we put up JK news? Quite a lot of LP fans are JK fans (including about half of the LPLive staff). LP news is slow and why not talk about their album release?
  22. perhaps add some Europe 08 notes.... Dublin: - After 'Points Of Authority', Mike said that they had received a double platinum award for Minutes To Midnight earlier in the day, and then introduced the next single, 'Leave Out All The Rest'. - Mike mumbles "I'm so....cold" over the intro to 'Pushing Me Away'. - Chester messed up (or maybe on purpose?) 'Valentine's Day' yet again. The first line sounded something like 'My insides are born to blast' or perhaps 'My insides are burned to grass' instead of the usual line. - 'A Place For My Head' did not have the extended guitar intro by Brad. In the LPTV episode from the tour, you can see Brad and Phoenix standing backstage. Phoenix tells Brad that he won't "play unless they want it", but Brad immediately starts the intro to 'A Place For My Head'. Munchen: - Chester mentioned that this was the biggest Projekt Revolution show to date. However, it was later outdone by Milton Keynes a few shows later. Lisboa: - The intro to 'Pushing Me Away' was stopped and restarted so that Chester could address the crowd.
  23. Finland 08 - 'In Pieces' was not played, and Mike did an acapella of the first verse of 'Hands Held High' instead. should be - 'In Pieces' was not played, and Mike did an acapella of the first verse of 'Hands Held High' instead. Afterwards, he said "That was for you, just because you have the sign up", talking to a fan wanting to hear the song.
