    New Stuff

LPTimes found this supposedly "new" interview today/yesterday. It has some older news but also a few comments by Mike that I haven't seen, so I thought I'd throw it up. ....."I think the reason I did Fort Minor in the first place is because I was stealing those songs that couldn't belong on a Linkin Park record and now I feel like maybe they could," Shinoda said. "We really kind of changed with regards to our creative dynamic, like our in-studio dynamic, things are different now so I feel like if I have any energy that would be Fort Minor energy it kind of be directed onto a Linkin Park album. I think all the guys are really happy with how things are going and we feel like we can do many different things that we couldn't do a few years ago." Full interview here. (Thanks Jas / LPTimes!) Mike also talked to Sneaker Freaker Magazine about a pair of his favorite shows. That page can be found here. I actually would like a pair of those shoes, hah! Can anyone find them for sale online anywhere...? Slow news month but I'm trying to put up a variety of things for you guys so we all don't get bored...
  3. they might drop don't stay altogether since chester forgot the lyrics quite a damn bit this cycle LOL I have no idea about jokes. we tell so many, how the hell are we supposed to remember them all lmao
  4. well of course but for the circumstances they faced, im sure you'd rather them open the set like that and play 3 extra songs at the beginning than wait and open with WID and miss even more songs (3) from the setlist. WID most likely wouldn't have had the long intro...just the short piano piece, so I like what they did.
  5. I could have sworn sometime recently I heard a show where Mike was like... "People in the past have been known to get a little rowdy to this song...." etc and I think he might've said the 'pick em up' line perhaps. I listened to all the APFMHs from the winter euro/usa tours and couldn't find it. Maybe he said it on the summer euro tour? I thought he said it for apfmh in 2008 but maybe I'm wrong. I know I heard that quote though somewhere recently.... hmm....
  6. In Between? Really? lmao. I think it's a song that goes in the middle of the set to be honest. I'd like to hear/see it live but not in an encore at all. Open: Wake/Given Up. Don't Stay and With You are excellent, but they've been done a LOT. Wake/Given Up was solid this cycle...I really like it. I preferred it to the NMS opener actually. NMS long intro works quite well in the middle of the set. DS and WY both work perfectly though of course. If done right with proper intros, I believe Crawling, Faint and Breaking The Habit can all be VERY effective opening songs. Close Main Set: Faint or Bleed It Out. BIO closing the entire show is weak, and I prefer OSC closing it all. Then you need a place to put BIO and I like Faint closing the main set really. I guess do BIO w/drum solo, then Faint to close the main set. Faint is excellent. Open Encore: What I've Done is perfect. Crawling w/Reani intro absolutely owns too. Either one. Close Encore: APFMH/OSC should close every show, no damn doubt.
  7. I added it but until Maza gives Nick the show that he has owed him for some time (lol, what's new...maza ripping people off), we can't do anything about it. Maza won't hand over Nashville so we can't add update the comment. Nick's version was out of sync for the audio/video..like it was bad at the beginning and got worse throughout the show. The taper said he reripped it for Nick but I mean I dunno, we need to see Maza's source so we can compare and get the right notes.
  8. What are your favorite songs to: -Open the set -Close the main set -Start the encore -Close the encore ? Let's hear it
  9. The Rev Stage was an absolute dump at this show. Rain, mud and just a fucking mess, lmao. I said hell no when I walked up and Atreyu was on, so I just chilled with other LPU'ers over by the main stage.
  10. Great review. I think that since the show was at the New York State Fair, like things worked a little bit differently.Obviously LP headlines and gets the main time slot, but they probably got a few minutes shorter than they usually get and had to cut a song. As we saw with Chorzow, Poland 2007, they are not afraid to cut Don't Stay, so I assume that's what the deal was. Or possibly they just have a strict curfew at that amphitheatre and it has nothing to do with the State Fair being there. As we saw with Mansfield this year, some venues operate under a REALLY tight curfew and impose big fines if bands go over. That's why LP cut What I've Done in Mansfield, so I guess they had to cut Don't Stay because of time.
  11. haha thanks, fixed it all
  12. As 2008 is winding down, I want to remind everyone that hasn't to please head on over to the Live Reviews section of the forum, which can be accessed HERE, to write your 2008 show reviews. I'm trying to collect as many as possible so that they may be included with LPLive version 4 when it drops in 2009, but if you guys don't write them, the show pages will look blank under the review sections, hah. We've already got some pretty good ones now. We have a wide variety, from LPPanther's Dallas 2004 experience HERE to Preston's LPLive PR08 Roadtrip story in West Palm Beach encompassing the entire day HERE. Check 'em out and if you've seen a show, just drop a few words down of what you thought about the show. There's also another section for reviews of other bands that we're filling up. Of course, you must be registered on the forums to write a review, but it takes just a second and I know some of you have some time on your massive Christmas breaks to throw a review down. Even if there's one from your show already, put another one up. Thanks!
  13. what in the world kind of post is that lol I printed out charlotte, took it to the doctors office and read it lmao. this is absolutely fucking hilarious for a review. excellent recap of things. I think between the 2 of us we capture it all pretty well. descriptions of the rev stage/cornell/lp are all perfect. hands up on POA...epic. can't wait for the tampa review.
  14. Actually I don't think LP said it at all in 2007/2008 LOL. At least, I can't recall it at all. 2003 and 2004 were huge years for that quote for them. It came just about every time they did APFMH, but now I mean I don't think the crowds have gotten rowdy enough for them to say it anymore sadly
  15. Alright, let's see here. Which show was my personal favorite from the year? Well for me to have a personal favorite, I mean I'd like to pick a show I went to. Out of the 4 Projekt Revolution shows I saw this year, I really liked West Palm Beach a lot. Tampa would have been epic but the sound was quite low and stuff, so I mean West Palm was where it was at in my opinion. I had THE perfect seat...the show itself was amazing. The image of the hands up on Points Of Authority will be engraved in my memory forever...it was just epic as hell. I was totally into the entire set. What I've Done opening kicked it, then Brad did his dance on Faint, then we were off into No More Sorrow. A lot of energy. For the encore, Pushing and BTH were very nice treats, and to end they came out with CFTI and then just tore the whole fucking place down with One Step Closer. It was a REALLY good show. The crowd was A+, LP gave it a lot, and they even said it was their best show on the tour up to that point. I'm even in 2 of the DSP pics, haha. The only downside was no Papercut, but Mike tore that shit up the next night in Tampa. Best crowd of 2008. Well, I mean Tampa was insane on Proj Rev, but I know the US shows can't compare with the international shows. It's a tie between Madison Square Garden and Lisboa. For the show that was overall just awesome, I can't pick either. I'll give both of those awards to both of these shows. Lisboa just fucking kicked it that night. An insane amount of people packed in for LP, and they gave the band everything they had. From What I've Done to Bleed It Out to One Step Closer, the place was going nuts. It was just an overall amazing show as far as the crowd and the band goes. The international fans really appreciate it when LP comes. It's something special when LP plays just 1 show in your country every 1-3 years, so you have to go extra crazy for them, which is what Lisboa does. For example, check out when the gates open and how they all run to get to the front of the stage and stuff. You don't see any of that shit in the United States. That's part of what makes the international shows so special. Then, Madison Square Garden was awesome too. A pretty cool setlist in good ole New York...but then Jay comes out and that place just lost it. Very very cool. The energy that night can't be rivaled by anything else if you ask me. Even Pooch said it was the loudest crowd he's heard for LP. Best performance by the band? They had some good shows in 2008. The European run at the beginning of the year was excellent. After the first few shows, they got in the groove and really performed well on that tour. Manchester, Frankfurt, London, Basel, and more...those were good. Camden 2008 was also pretty good. I imagine the band played some good shows in Europe in the summer too, probably in Athens, Dublin and some other cool cities. I can't pick just one performance because I wasn't at them all, honestly. If I had to pick one I thought had a pretty good performance I'd say either Manchester, UK or Camden. The shows I went to in Florida had some good performances too - shoutout to Florida right here. Best audience sourced DVD. Hmm. Jonas's Frankfurt DVD is great I'm sure. Wantagh is pretty good. Bartek's MK would be awesome if I could get a hold of it. I guess Wantagh since I haven't seen any of the others (Berlin, etc). Frankfurt is decent but can't be rivaled by Wantagh. I'd also like to see Mannheim's DVD. I haven't really seen many of the 2008 DVDs since I haven't traded for any, sadly. Best audience sourced show is no fucking doubt Nick's Camden. Koln is also a huge mention since it was taped with the same gear I have (which I love a lot). That's about it as far as audio goes. I bet the Winter US tour recordings we don't have kick some ass, but once again...the unreleased stuff doesn't really could I guess. Best proshot DVD? Well it comes down to RTR or Lisboa I guess. Wantagh could count too since it was proshot in a way, lol. I don't like RTR at all, so definitely Lisboa. Even though the Lisboa audio fucking sucked, the performance blew MK's out of the water no doubt. The setlist and crowd were 5 times as good, no questions asked at all. It's not even close, lol. Best SBD? Well that's definitely a biased question because once we heard WID opened in Hannover, everyone went fucking crazy and Hannover sort of became a legendary show. Show Me, A Place For My Head, Valentine's Day, etc. Hannover is a big show for people as far as the SBDs go, and I really liked it even though the band's performance wasn't really anything special. Edgefest, though, wins it. While it wasn't the best performance energy-wise or anything, the setlist just totally rocked it. Breaking The Habit piano / Pushing piano / Hands Held High piano -> What I've Done. That's some awesome stuff right there to start the show considering the circumstances. And then the lights went out on the APFMH bridge and came back on during the OSC bridge...that's great. So yeah Edgefest wins it for me due to the cool show and how much I was looking forward to that SBD when it came out. Aaaaand there we go, there's my stuff.

  17. What on earth is up with the editing in the Rock am Ring 2004 MTV version DVD? This is the DVD I am talking about: http://www.chesterchaz.de/DVD/06.06.2004-2/index.htm The editing is all fucked, check it out. It's like when it shows the crowds' view of the stage, they added in a ton of extra hands lmao.
  18. Merry Christmas from LPLive! I do have a gift for you all planned within the next day or so, but I couldn't get it ready in time for the 25th. Well Mark, why didn't you start planning earlier? You see, I slept all day on the 24th! But yes I will have a gift for you all coming soon, so I hope you like it. Have a good one and be safe!
  19. Yes it was. Pooch and Dylan mixed it entirely differently and much better.
  20. spamcakes. I'll upload pics of shit I have. finally got a sealed HTEP, the prized glory I've wanted for so long. I have mike's first DC remix shoes that are sexy as fuck. HT cassette tape promo for OSC/With You...love that too. hmm, the HT sticker from the HT 2 track promo CD of Super Xero/Esaul. I have that thanks to Nick. I have a bunch of random promos and stuff he sent me, a lot of really cool stuff. Serenade sent me some cool cassette tapes of the main CDs. the only thing I want now is the actual HT 2 track promo CD. I have every other piece of merch that I'd like to collect (I don't need it all, just some of my favorites) except that. I'd really like that. I'll get it someday. also there's this FM 5 track promo CD that I saw on eBay once that was RTN, Right Now, Petrified, Believe Me and Where'd You Go. Now that's awesome. I'll track that down someday. That's all though.
  21. You can't note brad fucking the TLTGYA solo up because he's been fucking it up for a while. make the note about the OSC intro, the guitar seems to have played one note continuously throughout the intro. very interesting.
  22. OUCH "PS - don't let them take your web domain rights and ownership of your fan club. The last thing you want to do is give them the power of your mailing list and your online community." Shinoda slams Warner. Damn. I love it, lol.
  23. Added canceled date: 06.03.2004 Pensacola, FL, Pensacola Civic Center, Meteora World Tour Source: http://www.livedaily.com/news/5867.html http://www.livedaily.com/news/5906.html The original MWT 04 scheduling for those dates was: 01.03.2004 Greensboro, NC, Greensboro Coliseum 02.03.2004 Atlanta, GA, Philips Arena 04.03.2004 Sunrise, FL, Office Depot Center 05.03.2004 Tampa, FL, USF Sun Dome 06.03.2004 Pensacola, FL, Pensacola Civic Center The final scheduling turned out to be: 01.03.2004 Lexington, KY, Rupp Arena 02.03.2004 Greensboro, NC, Greensboro Coliseum 04.03.2004 Sunrise, FL, Office Depot Center 05.03.2004 Tampa, FL, USF Sun Dome 06.03.2004 Atlanta, GA, Philips Arena I know we can't put all of the old/new dates on there for these shows I mentioned but I think it's worth mentioning Pensacola. They juggled all the March dates into a different order and replaced Pensacola with Lexington. I'm not aware of other "big" LP tours having dates announced then changed like this, but I'm sure this happens with all their tours essentially. However, I guess this is the only one they announced early before dates were finalized, I assume to get more ticket sales.
  24. Sent you a PM. That sucks you're having problems with the LPU.
  25. It's a gift from the band to the fanclub, not a gift from the band to the whole world. Otherwise it'd be posted on either LP.com or MS.com.
