If you're including White Pony in this I will disregard your existence. Around the Fur I can kinda understand, but anything after that is a million miles away from nu metal.

Do you mean the one album that was vaguely nu metal-ish?

This cannot be emphasised enough. EDM is huge right now, the biggest thing in contemporary music, and it's everywhere - you can't really avoid it. Listening to something a lot will inevitably influence the music you create, unconsciously if nothing else. I personally believe the EDM influences are coming from Mike hearing these new sounds, liking them, and deciding to incorporate them within the Linkin Park sound, rather than a conscious attempt to sell records on the back of the genre's popularity.

The Catalyst shocked the hell out of me when it first came out. It seemed so different, I was like... "where are the guitars? What's with vocal effects?". It grew on me and made more sense the more I listened to it though. I think it was partly because it was the first single (bar New Divide) released after I'd become a fan, and felt so different to anything they'd already released.

I heard In the End on a YouTube video about Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War when I was 12. Chester's voice was what hooked me, in a way music never had before.

Love Cure for the Itch. The second half in particular is gorgeous.

Runaway is easily the weakest song on Hybrid Theory.

My fandom of The Offspring extends to me liking Pretty Fly for a White Guy 'cause it's funny. Excellent news on the televised/streamed front. Interested to see what the setlist'll be like for these shows - hoping for a surprise Hybrid Theory resurrection before the main event in summer.
