  1. Actually no, I reckon it is Chester doing the backing, listening to the PMA acapella. Weird, I'd always just taken it for granted that Mike had done singing before MTM.
  2. The Saturday's looking really good for me in terms of other bands. While She Sleeps, Bowling for Soup, Killswitch Engage, Bring Me the Horizon and Fall Out Boy all on Main Stage! Looks like I'll be pretty much lodged there for the day.
  3. I thought this was the case as well, the "oh"s in the background definitely sound more like Mike than Chester.
  4. Is the "tired of being what you want me to be" in the last chorus of Numb sung by Chester or Mike on the studio version of the song? I'd always thought it was Mike as he does it live and in the video, but recently I've become pretty sure Chester does it. Can someone clarify I'm not going mad?
  5. If I was them I'd change up the order of the album a bit (move OSC to the end, group With You and Runaway) but who knows what they'll do. A setlist that did so could look like this: 00. Tinfoil 01. Faint 02. Lost in the Echo 03. Waiting for the End 04. What I've Done 05. Numb 06. The Catalyst 07. Guilty All the Same 08. Burn It Down 09. Bleed It Out =============================== 10. Cure for the Itch (Transition Video) 11. Papercut 12. Points of Authority 13. With You 14. Runaway 15. Crawling 16. By Myself 17. Pushing Me Away 18. A Place for My Head 19. Forgotten 20. In the End 21. One Step Closer
  6. I think it's unlikely that Guilty All the Same is the album opener. It just doesn't sound like one to me.
  7. Download Set: 01. Wake 02. Given Up 03. Lying from You 04. Burn It Down 05. Numb 06. What I've Done 07. Cure for the Itch (Transition Video) 08. Papercut 09. One Step Closer 10. With You 11. Points of Authority 12. Crawling 13. Runaway 14. By Myself 15. In the End 16. A Place for My Head 17. Forgotten 18. Pushing Me Away ==================== 19. Guilty All The Same 20. Faint 21. Bleed It Out
  8. I can imagine Leto singing What I've Done, for some reason. I'd suggest Chester could do one of Mars' older, screamier songs with them but they don't play those any more.
  9. I can imagine this becoming a thing. We'll have to start referring to it as GATR.
  10. I don't think we need to worry about Chester playing guitar on this track, it's probably too complicated for him.
  11. Why do people keep doing this?
  12. From Reanimation: Points of Authority Pushing Me Away Crawling One Step Closer By Myself From Recharged: Both Shinoda Remixes I'll Be Gone (Vice Remix) Until It Breaks (Money Mark Remix) Sold My Soul to Yo Mama, if that counts And a shout out to zwieR.Z. in terms of unofficial ones.
  13. 01. Iridescent 02. Numb 03. Papercut 04. Castle of Glass 05. The Little Things Give You Away 06. And One 07. Don't Stay 08. Leave Out all the Rest 09. A Place for My Head 10. P5hng Me A*wy
  14. Well A7X take a lot of influence from Metallica, so it's all swings and roundabouts. Only just related, but amusing all the same:
  15. The over-compression doesn't surprise me at all, it's been a problem on the last couple of albums. I don't think it affects this song too much, as there's not much in the way of dynamics. It's not nearly at Death Magnetic levels of terrible.
  16. I disagree, a large part of it is instrumental. I don't think it's any more lyrically repetitive than a typical Linkin Park single.
  17. I can dig this. Almost a heavier Billy Talent vibe. Rakim's verse is tasty, as somebody else said earlier I can see them dropping a verse from a different song on it when they play it live. Definitely gonna be a big one at gigs - as much as I kinda agree about Chester's voice not being as awesome as on other songs, it does sound like a song he'll be able to do live pretty easily as it's got a pretty live feel already. Must admit, certainly did not expect it to sound like this haha. Everyone else is saying YAY GUITARS!, whereas I'm like YAY LIVE DRUMS! Oh and for anyone who doesn't know, Rakim is widely regarded as one of if not the greatest rapper of all time. This is a big deal, people.
  18. I disagree entirely. Most of the greatest riffs of all time are ridiculously simple.
  19. If this was a month earlier I'd have been able to go to the Florida date Good to see a pretty comprehensive US tour, anyway.
  20. "A girl from Japan told me once that she was worried about men of the next generation being what they called “Soushoku Danshi,” or “Sheep Boys.” This description was invented to describe people as either “herbivores” or “carnivores,” the former group being described as soft, non-assertive, and indifferent. For me, rock music has gotten a little herbivorous. Where are the carnivores?" Well, that makes sense of the name. (Text taken from a piece Mike wrote for a website, for those who don't know).
  21. The fact that they're promoting it as a Linkin Park/Mars tour suggests to me they'll get a decent stage time, about an hour perhaps. There might be another band on the tour, but I reckon it's unlikely. A strong bill nonetheless, should sell well. Excited to see where the tour goes from here!
  22. I think I speak for the majority when I say HOLY MOTHER OF HEAVY ROCK YES
