  1. YAY! LET'S ALL BE FRIENDS! She Couldn't could be a possible, actually, as could My December, those two albeit pretty similar.
  2. Rage Against the Machine definitely weren't nu metal - influential on the genre, yes, part of it? No way. And yeah I agree Points of Authority is definitely nu metal, but aside from the rapping are there any real nu metal traits to Bleed It Out? It's not really got much low end for a start, with melodic guitar parts that are closer to classic rock or punk than metal. It sounds more like bloody Green Day than Korn or Limp Bizkit.
  3. Well that's completely wrong. Would you call Faith No More nu metal? Rage Against the Machine?
  4. Firstly, do you have to be so antagonistic towards everyone? Secondly, What I've Done is definitely alternative rock, vague though the term is. I'd also suggest Bleed It Out, as an example of rap rock that's not nu metal.
  5. Nothing major, but does this thread really still need to be pinned? It's not really relevant any more after all - a 2014 poll could always be started just before the tour or whatever.
  6. When They Come for Me is definitely hip-hop. The Messenger - Acoustic Shadow of the Day - Pop rock Castle of Glass - Folk (albeit with heavy electronic influences) The Catalyst - Electronic rock
  7. Just a fantasy setlist, no thought of realism. 01. A Place for My Head 02. Don’t Stay 03. No More Sorrow 04. When They Come for Me 05. With You 06. The Catalyst 07. Castle of Glass 08. 8. I only got GarageBand in the last 8 months... I did know about its existence in the past, just to clarify. I do find it funny when artists use such stock samples, though obviously Believe Me does it very well. Wasn't that Soulja Boy song from a few years ago like, entirely stock samples?
  9. Who is this Shinoda bloke? The band has a singer - they don't need him.
  10. My word this interviewer is a jackass. At least the band have some fun with it haha.
  11. Reviving this as I thought it topical. I'd kill for them to get Adele, Ian Kenny from Karnivool or Jason Butler from letlive. as a guest vocalist, unlikely as those may be. I'd also love some kind of collaboration with Liam Howlett from The Prodigy. In a more realistic sense, we know Mike's good friends with Austin Carlisle from Of Mice & Men, and with the heavy direction this record's going in, he might be a possibility.
  12. Interesting interview. Good to hear there are some other longer songs, interested to hear what direction those take.
  13. My reasoning is that having all caps titles amidst those that aren't just looks annoying. Might just be my OCD, but that's my thinking.
  14. QWERTY should be in all caps, that's how it appears on a keyboard. ALTNC should not.
  15. All Caps has infuriated me since it began. Normal titles PLEASE.
  16. Didn't LP go on before Metallica at Soundwave and Summer Sonic 2013 as well?
  17. I think it makes sense in GATS, the whole thing's pretty high energy and needs aggressive vocals. Totally agree with you about The Messenger, though.
  18. The album as it is, with Across the Line and No Roads Left sandwiching In Pieces. That's how it is on my iTunes and adds much-needed oomph to the last section of the album.
  19. If they were on a big stage, I'd have said no, but I believe they're in a tent?Putting Jason Butler in any reasonably enclosed stage is always a recipe for wonderful mayhem.
  20. I found that on GarageBand the other day, I burst out laughing. It's a great little sample, to be fair.
  21. I think it's worth having a post admiring how incredible the names of these are.
  22. You need to see letlive. on the Friday, if you get the chance. Ridiculously good live band.

  24. I think in Chester's case it includes screams. Some of the stuff they talk about is really technical and I still don't understand a lot of it.
  25. Sung range: G♯2-G5 Total range: C2-C♯7 This website is a pretty good source for finding out ranges for different singers.
