  1. yes good points here. Apart fron the duds, i'd defiantly agree that it surpasses most of HT. P5hng, 1stp, krwlng, by_myslf are all better than the originals. With the others being just as good (apart from h!vltg xD) its only a few rappers that bring it down really.
  2. Exactly what I was thinking. Amnesiac in alot of ways is more of an "organic" Kid A. I can imagine LP's next album being like ATS, but with more traditional instruments instead of electronic music. And judging by what Phi has said in the recent chat, it seems like it will be true (saying that it could more experimental than ATS with Violins, & possibly more strings), At least thats what I'm hoping!
  3. my pick would be... Progressive rock/metal - experimental, with long complex song structures Trip-Hop - Slow, and moody beat driven electronic music Noir Jazz - experimentation's with the Jazz genre, but a lot darker and moodier. Blues - obviously everyone knows what this sounds like. But I'd love LP to experiment with the blue's style and songwriting one day.
  4. That'll be sweet. I hope we will definitely get DBS 2 after LP5. OOA was brilliant, and DBS really needs more love (& promotion xD)
  5. wow thats a pretty epic lineup! SOUNDGARDEN! TENNACIOUS D! I hope this means they'll be going to the Download festival aswell!
  6. Afraid so Astat! Also, is it just me, but the vocals in the chorus of "Slip" sound a bit strange? Almost out of key? Don't get me wrong, I love the track, but it just stops the song being great in my opinion.
  7. brilliant, I hope this new album is widley released. You still cant even get the first album in stores in the UK. D2A is very underated album. I'm glad LPL still give JK love.
  8. What I think is great about LPU11 is that apart from YO (which was ment to be an instrumental anyway) they are all full/almost finished songs. Nor are they a mix of the two (like the faint/figure 9 demos that had lyrics here and there, but had unfinished instrumental sections). This is defiantly more like a b-side album in a lot of ways, as I guess the vocals on the Meteora demos probably where never written/completed anyway, so what we have is probably the most complete. But damn, i cant get over the HT demos! who knew any more existed!?
  9. 11 pages for the LPU11 thread! FTW!!!
  10. It probably isnt, but post it anyway! I cant wait to hear this CD! What other band releases a full album this time of year full of demos & b-sides? where really lucky I have to say. Plus, I'm also looking forward to reading Mike's track by track commentary. Hopefully someone transcribes that if possible. Oh and Astat's analysis is always enlightening too!
  11. Ditto. I've been longing for this remix for years now. especially with all the old rumors saying that it was too 'dark' for reanimation. The only things that I can think of as to why they've never released it, is either: it has copyright issues, or it simply wasn't that good. But i cant believe that, its Team Sleep we're talking about!
  12. great read. How I LONG to go to a night club where the DJ randomly spits out LP remixes from this epic album. Not every track is brilliant mind, but on the whole its still a fantastic record. i wish there where more albums around now like Reanimation.
  13. HT Papercut, With You, A Place For My Head M Easier To Run, Breaking the Habit, From the Inside MTM No More Sorrow, In Pieces, The Little Things Give You Away ATS When They Come For Me, Waiting for The End, Wretches & Kings
  14. I really hope the Cd's epic! Whatever it is. I just hope we know soon
  15. Brilliant stuff, NMS, great song with fantastic drumming. Rob is really underrated. Very complex stuff in parts, and he doesn't miss a beat
  16. I personally would love a longer album from these guys, mainly cause LP are notorious for short albums (besides reanimation) So anything longer than ATS would be great with me. 50 to 60 mins. anything shorter than 35 mins is too short for a serious album really. But 45 mins is the most comfortable length without sounding too short or too long. But more than anything else, I'd want longer songs. So 10 songs with the majority of them longer than 4 minutes would be ideal. And epic 8 opener would be a great idea, not many bands do it often, and its usually more ballsy and risky to start an album off with long track. I'd love that, even if every other track is 3 mins long
  17. just had a look. The HT tshirt looked cool, until i saw the minimum bid: $70!!!?!! Fuck that, even if it is signed. Jesus, talk about expensive. Bit of a crappy auction where everything has a set price.
  18. The Catalyst for its chord progression. And BITS has really nice guitar parts. BTH obviously for the strings. But also No roads left. The string arrangement in the bridge of the song alone is incredibly epic and powerful.
  19. Finally some sense. Great observations there. For me, i really like ATS. I but I don't consider it a masterpiece either. Its unpredictable, on the first listen your never sure where it might go. For LINKIN PARK it is a very experimental record. But, in the grand scheme of things, it isn't really breaking new ground - next to likes of Pink Floyd or any iconic artists know for taking risks. But LP did take a risk. The album in contrast to the previous 3 is less reliant on guitar. Some tracks don't have any guitar at all (and if it is, its subtle, but its still there) All this from a band originally known for its loud and heavy guitar riffs, this was a considerable risk. Just look at all the hateful coments about LP on Youtube now. People have noticed the change. I really do feel sorring for the guys. with "fans" left, right and center saying: "GO BACK TO YOUR OLD SOUND" or "THE NEW SOUNDS NOT DIFFERENT ENOUGH" Poor LP can't win these days. Luckily, they do have people out there who do appreciate what their doing. Even if its just a small minority. Keep making good music LP!
  20. I must say, when i first saw this on LPA I thought it was an early April Fools joke Fan fucking fantastic though. NRL! Couldn't have picked a more perfect song for the medley in APFMH. I hope they do it again, the DSP will be immense!
  21. I thought I was going crazy when they played Iridescent. It seemed to end too quickly. And now I know why xD It was a pretty well put together show. Mario Savio's speech over Fallout gave me chills. I hope they play it again like that at a future live show.
  22. When LP go on a break/hiatus. Mike will get bored, and FM will return. I'm sure it'll be just like that.
  23. I'd say When they Come for me. Not so much for the rapping part, but chester's wordless choruses and his chaotic chant in an ending with Brad yelling in Spanish in a megaphone - easily makes it one of the most unique songs of the year!
  24. Totally random, but brilliant to see Chester & Co don't want DBS to fade away! I hope the show goes through. LP comes first, but DBS needs some love occasionally.
  25. Wow this is pretty unexpected. I wonder why/how Rhinestone was used in this. And why it wasn't released or made available online or on a demo tape. I sure hope Mike reads this thread. XERO DEMOS FOR LPU11!!!!
