  1. I like the shortened songs because it allows them to play more songs.
  2. That's disappointing.
  3. That's a shame because it really is a good album. Thirty Seconds To Mars is definitely not bigger than Blink-182. You could maybe make an argument for Incubus. Blink-182 has had five consecutive top 10 charting albums and their biggest album went five times platinum. 30STM has one single-platinum album and one top 10 charting album. Incubus has four top 10 charting albums but their biggest album was only double platinum.
  4. Well now that we know there's a version of Good Goodbye that has two Mike verses that won't be on One More Light I'm gonna go ahead and put that on my wishlist for LPU17.
  5. The video stated that the original version had two verses from Mike and a contribution (likely a verse) from Pusha T. Stormzy replaced one of the Mike verses but we don't know who will rap on what verses yet.
  6. It's possible that Mike had a version where he had 2-3 rap verses but then brought in these people to replace/add a verse or two. If that's the case then the guests' lyrics would've been written afterward but the original version of the song had all the lyrics written before the music.
  7. I forgot how good that remix was. I hadn't heard it in years.
  8. People are allowed to not like the song and have it be for any number of reasons. I'm so sick of seeing this argument. The person never brought up the style of music in their criticism of the song. Personally I like the song. I like it a lot actually but I'm not going to get offended every time somebody says they don't. Everybody is entitled to their own opinions and you don't have to agree. You also don't have to project some bullshit reason for why they don't like the song. Kruspe stated that he didn't like the song because it's simple and generic radio pop. Now you may not agree with these criticisms but he never said that the reason he didn't like it is because it's "not nu-metal" or whatever.
  9. Hey Korn manages spikes in popularity every now and then! See You On The Other Side and The Path of Totality spring to mind. But I absolutely agree that LP would've faded to relative obscurity if they had never evolved past the nu-metal sound. Bands like Limp Bizkit, Korn, etc still have a dedicated fanbase but are virtually nonexistent in popular music.
  10. The Hunting Party's approach to releasing several songs leading up to the album release seems to be the standard these days.
  11. I will totally agree that Geki is generally very negative but he's at least heard a song from the album now. He doesn't need to like this. As for myself I love it. It's something new for the band that further solidifies their impressive range. Kiarra sounds great on it and sings way more than I expected. The song has a similar vibe to Welcome by Fort Minor which is great for me as I love that song too. If this is the direction the album goes I think I'll be pretty happy with the results. I just wish we didn't have to wait until May to get the rest of it!
  12. Another fan reporting in that I do indeed think this shit sounds good.
  13. You can't have an album leak if you release the full album beforehand.
  14. I don't follow a ton of bands closely anymore (too much work and kids) but Korn with their latest album posted a clip of lead single Rotting in Vain a week or two before it was released to generate hype (as well as lead singles for at least their previous 4 albums). Nine Inch Nails on the other hand have released the lead singles for the last two full albums completely out of the blue (Discipline with 2008's The Slip and Came Back Haunted with 2013's Hesitation Marks) to promote the album. I guess it really comes down to the label and the band themselves though I remember Linkin Park doing the promo clips before lead single releases since I started following pre-album stuff back in 2005/2006 as a teenager. Personally I like knowing that a band I like is up to something. It let's me build hype and anticipation for the product instead of just suddenly having it. It doesn't feel "earned" in a sense I guess. To use NIN as an example again - they just released a new EP in December a week after announcing that there was going to be new music. There was no real hype period and we didn't know for sure that Trent Reznor was really up to anything prior to that.
  15. https://www.instagram.com/p/BPyBrSugp6Z/ Looks like Garrix played a bit of the song in a live stream.
  16. They could pull a Nine Inch Nails and say literally nothing until a week before an album's released.
  17. New NIN this week and new LP coming soon! I can't wait!
  18. Holy shit that's awesome!
  19. Cool stuff! Are you gonna work on a second verse and complete the song? That would be really cool. Adding a chorus to Animals and/or Asbestos would be great too.
  20. Wow this has a really cool sound. A little disappointed it never got finished honestly.
  21. Awesome!
  22. Last Line was a Minutes to Midnight/A Thousand Suns era song. Devil's Drop was probably made in the early stages of Living Things when they were doing folk songs. It Goes Through could be from the early Hunting Party batch since it's just Mike and has an "indie-pop" vibe.
  23. New movies get released to theaters on Fridays and home video on Tuesdays here.
  24. Pretty excited for the new Linkin Park track as well as the Rivers Cumo collab.
