Rakim is a hip-hop legend. Mike is pretty good, but far from the best.

I love The Rising Tied. Slip Out the Back, In Stereo, and Where'd You Go are my favorites from the album. The whole thing is so great, though. It's easily my favorite LP-adjacent release.

I would love to see them push the envelope on the heaviness. I think Emily has a great edge to her voice that shines on heavier songs. Getting something riffy and heavy like The Hunting Party with more polished production would be my dream for this iteration of the band.

I'm also hoping we get videos for the deluxe tracks.

the band's ninth album

The moment Mike said, "It's good to see you again," was the first of several moments that put me in tears during the return show. It's impossible to quantify what this band means to me. Getting them back a year ago was a dream. The hype cycle for the album, including getting to attend the prerelease listening party, was something I never thought I'd get to experience with Linkin Park again. The fact they were not only back, but also had new music for us (and it was good) was miraculous. The Emptiness Machine is still in heavy rotation for me a year later and sits among my favorite Linkin Park songs. The world has accepted Emily as the new voice of the band, and they show no signs of slowing down any time soon. It's unfortunate financial troubles this year prevented me from attending my first Linkin Park show this summer, but I'll get my chance soon enough - something I thought impossible just over a year ago. I love this band - past, present, and future. Can't wait for LP9.

I wouldn't be surprised if Warner is preventing them from releasing music with the fan club. The box sets make money, and they likely want to save exclusive tracks for that.

I feel like the BTS videos for From Zero don't even do a particularly great job of hitting the "how" these songs came together, let alone the "why". I always like getting these looks into the studio (however they present them), but there's just something missing in the edit here.

I'm still in shock by how much Mike has improved as a vocalist. I was sure the verses in this song would be underwhelming live but wow.

I'm sure I've mentioned it elsewhere,, but part of me wonders if getting Brad in to work on Friendly Fire was what prompted him to rejoin to finish the album.

IGYEIH (transition into GTG cut) 15. Let You Fade (opening piano notes cut; transition into...) 16. Good Things Go (wraparound to From Zero (Intro) cut) I felt like Already Over fit as part of this era sonically and thematically so I wanted to include it. The Nothing's There remix also served as a great choice for an instrumental track and let me extend the "vibey" portion of the album when paired with Overflow. The only omission here is From Zero (Intro) because I really liked the Arcane version of HITC as a potential intro and I think it sounds great in that role.

Mike sounds so damn good on this song. This might be my favorite vocal performance of his in this era.

Who's excited for some new Linkin Park music this week!

I wonder if Brad coming back to help finish Friendly Fire sparked his involvement in From Zero.

I'm considering trying my hand at taking the Zane Lowe interview, the conversation with Mike and Emily, these BTS videos, etc. and putting together something like that.

I love it. It reminds me of IGYEIH in that it has this grungy vibe. I expect more songs in this vein in the new era as Emily brings her grunge vibes into the band. It's interesting that this song came so early in the process.

Fans have the right to criticize the output though. You don't have to like and support every single thing they do to be a fan of the band. JZLP is well within his right to be disappointed with CTB and Stained and still be a fan.

I really enjoyed being a part of this project. Gonna listen to the full thing later after some homework.

Every time I see somebody saying this is a pop punk song I wonder if they've ever listened to pop punk in their life.

Probably looking at streaming numbers. Popular doesn't mean personal favorite.

100 percent agree. We're back to the HT/Meteora era where any track could have been a single.
