  1. I'm still in shock by how much Mike has improved as a vocalist. I was sure the verses in this song would be underwhelming live but wow.
  2. I'm sure I've mentioned it elsewhere,, but part of me wonders if getting Brad in to work on Friendly Fire was what prompted him to rejoin to finish the album.
  3. Now that we have some outtakes and new tracks from the era, is anybody making any alternate tracklists that incorporate things? Here's mine: From Zero (Expanded Edition) 1. Heavy Is the Crown [Prelude] (Arcane soundtrack version with the talking from the end of From Zero (Intro)) 2. The Emptiness Machine (with transition into...) 3. Up From The Bottom (with transition into...) 4. Cut the Bridge (with transition using part of the HITC music video into...) 5. Heavy Is the Crown 6. Over Each Other 7. Casualty (with transition into...) 8. Nothing's There (this is the Already Over remix from The Crimson Chapter; with crossfade transition into...) 9. Overflow (with tape deck sample removed from the ending) 10. Unshatter (with transition into...) 11. Already Over (with tape deck sample added from the end of Overflow) 12. Two-Faced 13. Stained 14. IGYEIH (transition into GTG cut) 15. Let You Fade (opening piano notes cut; transition into...) 16. Good Things Go (wraparound to From Zero (Intro) cut) I felt like Already Over fit as part of this era sonically and thematically so I wanted to include it. The Nothing's There remix also served as a great choice for an instrumental track and let me extend the "vibey" portion of the album when paired with Overflow. The only omission here is From Zero (Intro) because I really liked the Arcane version of HITC as a potential intro and I think it sounds great in that role.
  4. Mike sounds so damn good on this song. This might be my favorite vocal performance of his in this era.
  5. Who's excited for some new Linkin Park music this week!
  6. I wonder if Brad coming back to help finish Friendly Fire sparked his involvement in From Zero.
  7. I'm considering trying my hand at taking the Zane Lowe interview, the conversation with Mike and Emily, these BTS videos, etc. and putting together something like that.
  8. I love it. It reminds me of IGYEIH in that it has this grungy vibe. I expect more songs in this vein in the new era as Emily brings her grunge vibes into the band. It's interesting that this song came so early in the process.
  9. Fans have the right to criticize the output though. You don't have to like and support every single thing they do to be a fan of the band. JZLP is well within his right to be disappointed with CTB and Stained and still be a fan.
  10. I really enjoyed being a part of this project. Gonna listen to the full thing later after some homework.
  11. Every time I see somebody saying this is a pop punk song I wonder if they've ever listened to pop punk in their life.
  12. Probably looking at streaming numbers. Popular doesn't mean personal favorite.
  13. 100 percent agree. We're back to the HT/Meteora era where any track could have been a single.
  14. A deluxe edition with a b-side or two, some acoustic renditions, and some live tracks would be really cool.
  15. I caved and listened to the leak. I really like it. It sounds super fresh for Linkin Park. I love how aggressive and uptempo it is without really going heavy - reminds me a bit of In Pieces in that way. I really like that little instrumental break after the bridge. I really don't understand the Paramore comparisons. It doesn't really sound anything like them.
  16. Can't wait to hear it. The mixed reaction here makes me think that if nothing else it'll be an interesting listen.
  17. Whatever it is, I'm looking forward to it. I've absolutely loved this era of the band and I'm excited for more!
  18. It's very possible they tried rehearsing it in the studio version's key and realized it was too difficult to consistently perform live that way. While bands tend to mostly stick with the original key of songs when performing them live, there are plenty of songs from plenty of bands that have only ever been performed live in a different key for one reason or another.
  19. And it's so much better than the album version.
  20. The Messenger wasn't played live in its original key either. It happens.
  21. I feel like this doesn't translate very well live at all. Hopefully it improves with time as it's played more, but the dynamic vocals from the studio version are sorely missed here and it comes out really flat as a result.
  22. I've always thought it was possible that Mike planned the release of Already Over when things were still somewhat up in the air about Linkin Park's future. But then I think that by the time the song actually released, they knew Linkin Park was coming back since that was around the time Emily officially joined the band, right? I don't think it was originally planned as a decoy, but it worked out nicely to be one.
  23. It's not just foreigner things. I've been to a show in Tinley Park, IL where every band addressed the crowd as Chicago. The big city is typically the one bands refer to when playing in a suburb.
  24. January 10th was almost a month ago. Surely you mean February 10th. lol
  25. Love Cut the Bridge over the Bleed it Out bridge. That's my favorite part of the song and it sounds great mashed with BIO.
