Like I said in my post, I can understand why some people didn't like Howard Benson as the producer. I happen to like Howard Benson and he has produced a ton of records that I enjoy, but that's just my personal taste. You can't deny that Out Of Ashes was an important album for Chester and there are still great songs on the album. If it's not your taste or whatever, that's fine, but the record doesn't deserve the amount of hate and shit talking it receives from the LP community. And Hahninator, I love the electronic shit all over the Dead By Sunrise album. I love the electronic shit in Linkin Park's music, too. It's a big part of why I love LIVING THINGS, RECHARGED and now the new track coming out on Aoki's album. Some people like the hard rock/metal sound, like you, and there's nothing wrong with that. But some people also like the electronic shit like myself.

Not, but every single person involved with the music behind Dead By Sunrise was a part of Julien-K except for Chester. And to a degree, Chester was a part of the original Julien-K shit. Watch the EPK for Death To Analog and you will see that. Amir says it. We knew ever since the first time that Chester even played Let Down in 2005 that it was a stripped down version and that the version that would be on the album would be electric with electronic influence. Walking In Circles and Morning After sounded the same and so didn't Let Down, it just wasn't stripped down. My Suffering was different but the rest of the stuff that we heard before 2009 was virtually the same. A lot of the LP fanbase never really cared for Julien-K anyways except for LPLive for the most part so I guess that could be part of the hate. And honestly, this is to Hahninator, Chester probably didn't care much about the promotion or how well the record sold. He said on Twitter before that he was proud of the record even though it didn't sell that well and he stood behind the music. He doesn't care about the sales that Stone Temple Pilots have, either. Chester just wants to rock out and play live, he doesn't care about that kind of stuff. Bucket Of Weenies, Camp Freddy, Dead By Sunrise, Stone Temple Pilots and he has down tons of live guest appearances, etc, he just like to perform music.

That's a badass shirt, I'll be getting it at the Boston show. Do you guys know what Pruno actually is? It's like when people in prison make alcohol out of stuff and they call it pruno.

I'm sick of the hate on Dead By Sunrise around here. It was a fantastic album. The lyrics were poetic and dark, even brutal at times. Ryan and Amir's guitar playing was excellent. Elias kicked ass on drums. Chester did a lot of great vocal parts, some of which were styles that we have never heard him sing in before. In The Darkness is one of my favorite songs of all time. I understand that people don't like the over produced sound that Howard Benson gave the record but it still has a lot of great songs on it and I still enjoy it to this day. Also, I've seen a lot of people saying that they didn't like Chester working with the Julien-K guys and that Julien-K ruined the sound, etc. Why would you even bother listening to this record if you don't like Julien-K? /endrant.

Isn't that the same guitar Chester used in 2005 when he was in Bucket Of Weenies? EDIT: Or maybe that was Camp Freddy or Dead By Sunrise. I can't remember. But I think it was.

2000-12-06 - Peoria, IL, USA, Madison Theatre. Papa Roach's 'Master Bay' Tour
Geki replied to My4oKFanLP's topic in Live Talk
Wow, this is epic. I'm not going to contact the taper or anything because I don't collect like that but this is cool to watch on YouTube. I hope LPLive can get a hold of the full show or something, I'd watch it. -
Lorenzo should handle their social media. Not sure if Chester would want that, but it'd be way better. Doesn't Digby and Pooch travel with STP as well?
-
Ugh... I'm gonna have to disagree with you man. I happen to love LIVING THINGS and I also loved the shit out of Dead By Sunrise and Out Of Ashes. It's all about personal taste.
-
Yep, pretty much. The ''LP Discography'' page on Wikipedia is horrendous and when you get to the side project pages on Wikipedia as well as Mike Shinoda, Chester Bennington, etc., it gets even more horrendous. And no offense but the LPA Wiki is garbage. IMO.

It breaks my heart that so many people hate MTM and don't want LP to play any songs from it. MTM is my baby.

LP could definitely do a 22 song set with some longer songs if they wanted to. They need to cut all the stupid ''half-songs'' and all the mash-up stuff and play the real songs again. Then from there, play some fan favorites, play the big singles, add a few of their longer songs, and there you go. I don't understand why LP insists on playing SO MANY singles. They have big hits, yes, but they are basically just In The End, Numb, What I've Done, New Divide and BURN IT DOWN, for the most part, with a few other songs that are fan favorites like One Step Closer, Faint, Given Up, Waiting For The End and Guilty All The Same, etc. That is 10 songs. They could play 12 songs of whatever else they wanted and I guarantee most people would leave happy, even casual fans, because they got to hear In The End, Numb and What I've Done. LP could play stuff like No More Sorrow, Figure.09, From The Inside, Blackout, A Place For My Head, Keys To The KIngdom, A Line In The Sand, Wretches And Kings, etc. if they wanted to.

I know. There is so much false information and unofficial stuff on that thing. IMO, it should only list official releases from the band and it should have the correct information, but someplace else, not Wikipedia, where people can't edit stuff.

FM was the first concert that I ever attended. I used to love The Rising Tied. At the time, it was one of my favorite albums. But I don't love FM, honestly, you're right. Maybe some people out there do. Mike's rapping in LP is really all that I need, BUT, another FM album would be pretty cool. Not saying that I need it or particularly even WANT one, but if Mike chose to do something FM related, it would be cool. I honestly think Mike and Chester should just lie FM and DBS in their final resting places. They were basically made because Mike and Chester couldn't express the kind of music they wanted to make in LP at the time. Both have now said in later years that LP can now do anything and they can bring whatever kind of music that they want into LP. LP should be the top priority for both Mike and Chester, which it is. But if they want to do some other stuff on the side for fun, who is to say that they can't, you know what I mean? I don't think anything from DBS will come in the future, at least in the near future, because Chester is focused with LP and STP full time at the moment so whenever he has extra time, he is gonna spend that with STP. Mike writes most of the LP music. Chester basically helps Mike write the lyrics and he sings the songs, etc, but I don't think that Chester is a huge primary writer in LP. I'm pretty sure that's only Mike and Brad that do most of the demo stuff for the band and then the rest of the band works on whatever they created later on. So Mike is kind of busy. Another FM would be interesting, though. The hip hop world is not the same as it was in 2005, we all know this, and there are a lot of cool artists out now that would be cool to hear work with Mike, like Tyler The Creator and stuff like that. Mike said he liked Odd Future and Tyler The Creator in that Montreality interview from last year. We know he was with Machine Gun Kelly a few months ago and Machine Gun Kelly DID do Bleed It Out with LP at Warped Tour last year when he wasn't even originally on the tour, so he must be friends with Mike. I'm sure Ryu will definitely be all over the new FM stuff, especially judging by his verse on the Skin To Bone Remix from RECHARGED. As for Cheapshot and Tak, I don't think they will be around this time, but you never know. Kendrick Lamar on a FM track would be epic and we know that Skyler Grey (formerly Holly Brook) might want to do something again with Mike, who knows.

Thanks. Yeah, a couple HT shows would be great, IMO. The 15 year anniversary thing is a cool idea. I agree with you, actually. MTM and ATS were great albums and the time they took to make those really did show. I do love LT and consider it my second favorite LP album but it does seem like they polished up songs that might have already been materialized and stuff like that. Primo and Tinfoil were from the ATS era and a lot of other songs on the album might have been too for all we know. THP was for the most part amazing but I feel like it wasn't executed 100% on a few tracks. The lyrics could have been better too but it was a heavy album so they didn't really need to be amazing lyrics. I also never thought about how they were working on Mall as well, I always just think of Joe when I think of the movie but Mike and LP probably did a lot more in terms of the soundtrack and score. That's pretty cool that you found that out. I always found January to have been a bit of weird time to throw a big concert event like that. November 2013 would have made more sense because the typhoon was in 2013, not 2014. I wonder what the new song that they were gonna perform was as well. Maybe White Noise? It was probably completed in the later part of 2013 since Joe shot the movie at the end of 2013. Maybe they were going to promote the song for the movie or something. Interesting... Or maybe it was Until It's Gone, since I think it was originally going to be used for Transformers 4 anyways but LP chose to stick it on the album.

Wow, epic news. It will be nice to have a HQ recording of the set from this tour since I'm attending the Boston show a few days after.

Your post seems most logical. Like I said, I'd love to hear another FM album, I was just wondering in terms of time constraints. But I guess we can never truly predict what LP is going to do. Like you said, they said MTM in 2005 and then 2006 and then it came out in mid 2007, so yeah. But I also never really thought about the sales of THP in Asia and Australia. I know the album was like #3 in the US charts, which isn't bad, so maybe that's why we got Carnivores and then THP Tour, even though it was for the most part canceled. THP was #1 in Europe I believe in many countries. Adam told me at the Camden Summit a few years back that LP's biggest fanbase was in Germany and he was 100% right it seems. Nothing wrong with that, though, the German shows are great. I guess we'll have to wait and see what the future brings us. STP album in October most likely, and probably either a tour or some shows for that. Possibly some new FM music and subsequent tour around the same time. LP might do something special for the 15th anniversary of HT. Papa Roach was talking about it last year, they said this year will be the 15th year anniversary so they might do something special, etc. Maybe LP will follow suit. I wouldn't mind 2017 for the next LP album but something tells me that won't happen.
-
Why do you even need to bring LP into this? The only similarity between LP and STP is that Chester fronts both bands. LP is different and he isn't the only person in LP, maybe Mike or other members don't want to play longer shows. LP's set has always seemed fine to me, I don't care what they play. The only time I have complained about LP's set was when they wouldn't add new songs from the new albums (LT and THP) but I couldn't care less about set time or anything like that. LP shows are great. On a side note, this set seems pretty good. I forced myself to listen to a lot of old STP albums today and listen to a lot of the new songs added here and they are pretty good. I still prefer the stuff with Chester more but I do like some of their old stuff. Hopefully I'll start enjoying them more and start listening to their old albums, etc, because they were a staple of the 90's.

LP doesn't have that big of a catalog if you're talking stuff released officially by the real band. You guys must have tons of fan-made stuff or unofficial stuff or bootlegs, etc.
-
There was never such thing as the Militia EP. It was fan-made, just like the Stagelight EP, etc. Anyways, I'm not trying to say that I don't think another FM album wouldn't be cool. I'd like to hear some new FM music. Hell, the first concert that I ever attended was FM in Boston in early 2006. But it's just strange to me that we've still heard nothing from Mike about it and maybe that is because he is waiting to make some huge surprise comeback or something, but honestly, FM was never really ''huge'' in the first place and most people have probably forgotten who FM is besides old school LP fans since they haven't done anything since 2005. Maybe LP is going to take longer to write the next album and put it out in 2017 while Chester does STP stuff and Mike does FM stuff, who knows. But all signs right now point to LP returning to the studio in September of this year and probably releasing LP7 next year. Yes but keep in mind that 2013 was actually even shorter with tour dates than this year already is for the most part. 2011, too, LP ended touring in September and wrote LT for the rest of 2011. LP ended touring 2013 in September as well to write THP for the rest of 2013. LP is ending touring in September (as far as we know) and might write LP7 for the rest of 2015, if they are following the trend here.
-
Me too. I really like Black Heart, it's a great track. Out Of Time is great as well and I like the rest of the EP as well, too. I think my favorite out of the EP is probably Black Heart, honestly. The lyrics are dark in a cool way and I like the groove of the track. I don't really care much for older STP songs or stuff that they did before Chester joined the band but some of those might be cool to hear live, I'll have to wait and see.
-
Chester can fly in or do whatever needed even when he is on tour with STP. They have done stuff like that all the time. LP even made We Made It during their 2007 tour in Asia in the middle of the night. Lol. But yeah, he probably already did his music video appearance. He might not even be in the music video, but it would be very strange if he wasn't considering he does a majority of the vocals on the song.
-
I just think it's strange that Rob said they are going back into the studio in September to record for the new album. That kind of indicates that there will be a new LP album out next year, especially since Chester told Altwire recently that he would like to have an LP album out in 2016. We have seen LP in the studio this year already and Mike is probably working on demos and stuff like that. So when is FM coming into play? Virtually all signs point to an FM comeback but when and how if LP is going to releasing something next year with a tour, most likely? STP is supposed to put out their new album in October but even if Mike released his new FM stuff at that time, how will FM and STP get to properly tour for those? We know Chester could do it because he did the same thing in 2009 with DBS and in 2013 with STP but Mike is the primary writer in LP and he would need to take time away from LP to do it.
