I hope Chester doesn't get worn out on this tour because LP is going to start playing shows next month, too. I'm hitting up the Boston date and I hope the set is pretty good.
-
Seems a bit weird to me that they would contact him just to use the channel. I feel like they are probably after the content. Either way, a ''free pass'' is a bit cool I guess but there are much better prizes I can think of.
-
Post what you have in your iTunes Library for your digital collection of LP, FM, DBS, STP, etc. songs. I think it would be cool to know what each person's library looks like. I saw this thread over on the official LP forums.

How can you not hear Chester in that clip? I definitely can, it's very distinct. I can easily tell Mike and Chester's parts apart, Chester is doing a lot more singing based off of this clip alone. This song sounds so good... even better than the live remix version thing we have heard. It's definitely more EDMish but that was expected and not a bad thing because I like EDM. BTW, isn't that Chester that walks in at around 40 seconds or so? I think it is. He will probably be in the music video for sure then.
-
Yeah, this 100%. This is why I said ''idiot comments''. Obviously Chester is in the song and we already knew that Mike and Chester sing on it together. And Chester could very well be in the music video too.
-
So many idiot comments here. I'll just wait until the full song is officially released.
-
Did you see my post about that after you said MTM was my favorite? Lol.
-
Chester has stated that he personally likes this song better than ALTNC because it's very different from how LP usually writes stuff and because the lyrics are a bit darker than ALTNC, which he says is cool. Great news. I'm open to LP doing different things (my favorite LP album has always been MTM) and I like the dark lyrics from LP.

LP didn't write in a period of time specifically for the ''Stagelight EP'' which isn't even real to begin with, it's something the fans made for the few songs that were released through Stagelight. It was never officially released by the band. Whoever put that up on Wiki doesn't know much about official releases, most likely. LP released the 2 Stagelight packs officially but never an EP or anything like that. I don't think it's ever been officially confirmed what era the songs origin from other than speculation.
-
All of that shit from Stagelight came from an album's writing sessions. Most of it, at least. Luna probably originated in the ATS sessions or maybe the LT sessions.

I've thought about this many times. It would be such an epic opener. The lights go pitch black and Chester just starts screaming acapella right off the bat and then the drums and guitar kick in, etc. The casual fans would still get all the singles and shit during the set, the opener doesn't have to be a huge hit. Look at how Wake opened a lot of sets, as well as The Requiem, etc.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdiElDJB8S0 Wow. A fan asks the band to play APFMH. Mike says he is down but basically confirms why they don't play stuff like APFMH a lot. He says the other guys aren't prepared but they can learn and that they have to convince Brad to play it because he decides if the set is good or not. Maybe Brad decides the set a lot of the time? Maybe Brad doesn't like the heavy shit and didn't want to play War, ALITS, old stuff like By Myself, Figure.09, etc.?
-
No it didn't. I thought it was a great tour. Decent opening bands and the band had a lot of energy, at least at the shows I attended. But to each their own, I guess.

Yes, I believe it was in an article with Billboard. I will have to look for it. EDIT: I found it. http://www.billboard.com/articles/6140987/steve-aoki-36-hours Aoki plays a song with the (as yet unconfirmed) title “Horizons,” a collaboration with Linkin Park for his upcoming album. It has been a work in progress since 2012, which he admits is obsessive even for him. He pulls up the original mix on his laptop and plays it over the house speakers. They might as well be different songs. “I threw out the drop because it didn’t fit,” he says. “And [Linkin Park rapper] Mike [shinoda] rewrote the lyrics because he was like, ‘They’re too happy.’ He wanted to make it darker.” Asked if the two versions have anything in common, Aoki thinks for a moment and then says, “They’re both in the same key.”

I'll try my own. Hybrid Theory Era: Orlando, FL 2000 Meteora Era: Mountain View, CA 2004 Minutes To Midnight Era: East Rutherford, NJ 2007 (Bamboozle) A Thousand Suns Era: New York City, NY 2011 (Madison Square Garden) Living Things Era: Los Angeles, CA 2012 (Club Nokia X-Games Show) The Hunting Party Era: Clarkston, MI 2014

Chester on drugs produced some good screams and energy. And ok, whatever. It was a bit uncalled for in this thread.
-
Dude listen to any recording from that era. Summer Sanitarium Los Angeles 2003, Cleveland 2004, Mountain View 2004, Tokyo 2006, etc. His screaming wasn't that at good at Download Festival 2014.
-
Chester's screaming was at it's best in 2003-2006, not at Download 2014. IMO.
-
The good thing is that Steve said he tried experimenting with drops in the song but he ended up not using them for the final product because it took away from the dark feel of the song. This live version is just a mash-up with some R3Hab song or something. I agree that the drops in the live track are pretty typical and cheesy. I really love Chester's vocals here and I think the lyrics are cool, that's why I like this.
-
This 100%. I did like this performance a lot. Another great one. I like short and sweet shows.

I understand that EDM is not your thing. I know that you love hard rock and there is nothing wrong with that. I don't understand the people who claim to love the electronic and dance side of LP, yet hate the stuff LP is doing with Aoki for the past few years or so. I would have thought they would love it, since Aoki is considered to be one of biggest dance artists in the world and the collaborations sound just like all the other dance stuff that is popular. It's like people who claim they love hip-hop, yet hate the Jay-Z collaboration even though he is a top dog in the hip-hop world, etc.
-
That's strange considering that the song isn't out yet and we've only heard a very small section of the song in low quality. Of coarse they hate it, it's not ATS. And this is so the LP fan base, they hate on anything and everything, especially if it's something different sounding or whatever.
-
Wow. It's one song. And it's technically not even a LP song, just featuring LP, like We Made It.

Anyone have Let Down from this show? And does anyone know who the random girl singing is? -
Hahninator has the best so far.
