  1. We literally found out the title of GATS one day randomly and then LP uploaded a small clip of a new song preview on their YouTube which turned out to be GATS, then one night randomly they said to Shazam COG and we could hear GATS through the app. I remember it well. And then it was on iTunes a few days later if I'm not mistaken, maybe the day after. But then the music video was pure shit, too, which the band now acknowledges. But yeah, that's a terrible way for a name like Linkin Park to release anything, even a single, and it's largely why THP didn't do as well as it could have, IMO. They need to release a single similar to how they released BID in 2012. They announced that that they had a new single coming out, which was a few weeks after the announcement. But it hyped shit up big time and BID actually did well, despite LPL hating the song. Either way is was a successful campaign. And LT did well because of it, too. Also not too many songs were given away beforehand like with THP, but still. So honestly, they don't need to wait weeks after announcing the song, but maybe a day or two ahead of time so that everyone knows about it. Put it on iTunes for purchase to bring in sales and also do a YouTube lyric video or whatever because then anyone will be able to get it and they make money through that as well. Literally they could announce it tomorrow and then put it out Thursday and it would be successful IMO.
  2. Mike should just address all of this hype and more importantly, the wait. The reason so many fans are so pissed is because it could theoretically drop any minute, but at the end of the day, it never comes. If they gave us a timeframe, such as ''Hey, check out our social media around this date, etc'' I think a lot of fans would like that a lot more. If it's going to be a while longer before a single comes out, let us know. People may think all of the teasing from the band member's and their families is creating hype but it's not necessarily a good thing really. Because teasing and teasing and not delivering will only create massive expectations and it will annoy a lot of fans. I think quite the opposite, actually. Chester has been promoting the fuck out of the new album on his Twitter and Mike has talked about it many times as well. The rest of the band has been quiet but they don't really use social media much anyways, especially for talking about new Linkin Park. I think the band were a lot more quiet with the release of GATS and THP. The only issue is that if you're going to hype the fuck out of something a lot, you need to release something at some point, and they've been doing it for quite a while. The fanbase really wants a single badly, you can read any fansite basically. Some people have said they should drop the entire album as a surprise, etc. but I think they should just give us a single first, a few months away, etc. It's February now in 2 days.... I mean cmon...
  3. Hoping we might finally get a single tomorrow or Tuesday. But not getting my hopes up.
  4. Wow, badass! Thanks!
  5. Quick question - Random, I know, but does anybody happen to know what show my current avatar was from? I know LP posted it on social media and it was during Carnivores Tour. I think it was possibly Tampa, but I could be wrong.
  6. Nah, not really. I know the difference between demos on LPU albums and the band's actual albums, I've been a fan for quite a while, etc. However the amount of wrong information in this article is embarrassing. So many different wrong facts.
  7. Definitely PR 2002. I have tons and tons of photos from that tour and Chester looks the same as in all of the photos. But that's a really cool photo and nice find Lestat, I have never seen that photo before.
  8. I've never really found an answer for this, but are the SNL (2011 and 2007) performances allowed to be posted in the Audio section? I know various TV appearances and stuff are already there so I think it's allowed but I don't want to post a thread requesting it if it's against the rules. And I've never seen a good rip of them so it would be cool to have, IMO. Audio only I'm talking about.
  9. Mike said he would like to do more FM shows in the future, I think it is a possibility at least.
  10. He did say Hands Held High, When They Come For Me and Waiting For The End and he acknowledged that he put some of his Fort Minor energy into those songs, I forgot about that. I think they all could have easily fit in on a Fort Minor album, they don't sound very Linkin Parkish, they sound more Fort Minor when you look at them in that light. Forgot about that.
  11. That's actually true and a good point. I think Mike even discussed this exact thing in an interview, mentioning It's Goin' Down by name, when he brought Fort Minor back. I forgot about Things In My Jeep as well. So I think We Made It, Darker Than Blood, Things In My Jeep and also the Unreleased demo from The Visionaries all featured ''Linkin Park''. But that could have been wrongly labeled by whoever uploaded the track in 2015, it could have been just Mike or maybe Mike and Joe who collaborated for it.
  12. This is a cool thread. I hope someday we can obtain recordings of a few of these songs. Chester singing Outside with Staind interests me a lot because I love that song. My Own Summer with Deftones in 2003 is also pretty cool sounding.
  13. It's Goin' Down doesn't actually feature ''Linkin Park'' like We Made It and Darker Than Blood do. I own the physical CD and on the tracklisting it says ''Featuring Mike Shinoda & Mr. Hahn Of Linkin Park''. But I suppose LP did sort of adopt it when it came to their live show for a while, and they did almost present it as a Linkin Park feature, even though it wasn't.
  14. The single isn't coming out until September 2017 and the album will come out in January 2018.
  15. Basically HQ shows from prior to PR07. Also the summer 2008 Europe tour DSP's, especially Athens and Berlin. And a bunch of old HT, M and MTM demos.
  16. Wow, crazy prices. Sounds awesome, though. I'd love to be able to go to it. It's really cool that Chester likes playing different shows and events so often, since LP haven't toured in quite some time.
  17. I agree that it was pure shit. Seems like it was Mr. Hahn's idea from the get go. Just like how he single handedly picked the artwork for THP too. Remember that LPU video where Chester was saying he wanted to name the album Carnivores and Mike said Joe wanted The Hunting Party and he was handling the art direction? I hope the entire band had a say this time around about these sort of things.
  18. I knew something didn't seem right about it. For one, LP doesn't typically perform in a bunch of new places with each cycle, Peru and Hungary might be the only exceptions this cycle. And February just seemed to early to me for a live performance.
  19. This is what Mike said about it during that LPA Podcast thing from December 2015. ''We thought on that one, we did a game thing with Microsoft for their Project Spark sandbox game. And it just didn't happen. Like we didn't really... Joe didn't like the video thing that they all worked on together as much as he would have liked to. Nobody is mad at anybody for anything, we're all grown ups and can admit that it wasn't the best campaign.''
  20. Yeah, you did call that. And I think it is true. Plus, if you look at the past, the band has done the first music video around the same time as the photoshoot for the album. And judging by what Mike said in the LPA Podcast about how the band didn't like what happened with GATS and Project Spark, I think they will have a proper music video for the first single this time around.
  21. This is an epic post right here. I noticed the hats too, they are kind of weird. I could see Chester wearing one since he has had crazy styles from the beginning. But Mike looks a bit weird in that style. I don't really think it's a country look. It's more indie/hipster to me.
  22. The band isn't hyping anything? Have you seen the stuff on SnapChat, Twitter or Instagram from the band this entire cycle? Even Facebook. They have hyped it so much that it's almost too much to keep up with all of it. New interviews as well. From Summer Sonic 2006 to April 2007, we knew they were in the studio. We got ASP and Qwerty in between that time and had several Summer Sonic bootlegs. And a lot of interviews during the time. I mean we knew it was being worked on and coming out. We've been waiting since September 2015 since they first entered the studio. I'm only annoyed because I feel like a single should be out by now. I'm not saying the album should be out since I know they didn't want to put it out yet. But a single should be. EDIT: The wait DID suck for MTM, don't get me wrong. And I know we got some ''new'' demos with LPU16. Maybe it's the lack of shows in 2016 that made it seem longer for me. But I feel like almost every single day since they started work in September 2015, they have been posting photos and videos and everything else. All I want is to hear anything from the album. The wait between first single and album is never hard for me, it's the wait for the first single that I hate. We also haven't had this long of a wait since MTM/ATS so I wasn't expecting it. I'm not good with patience, maybe I need to learn it.
  23. Highly unlikely.
  24. Linkin Park hasn't released anything since June of 2014 and it's too late to be nominated or win anything right now anyways, even if they debuted the single today and it had immense success.
  25. California Noir - Chapter One: Analog Beaches & Digital Cities is BY FAR my favorite album that Julien-K has released out of their 4 main albums so far. Perfect album, IMO. And yeah, they do have a huge cult following. A lot of people are interested in the band, they're just not mainstream at all and don't appeal to the mainstream crowd, and there isn't anything wrong with that at all. Judging a band by their album sales or whatever is stupid to me. I love a lot of bands that are very small in comparison to LP. However, I can't seem them opening for Linkin Park on the next tour, as much as I think it would be cool to see them tour together again. LP is a super mainstream band and they need to tour with mainstream bands to bring in that cash. Incubus, Mutemath, Thirty Seconds To Mars, AFI, Rise Against and Of Mice & Men are all pretty popular and mainstream and they really helped sell tickets for the tours. Linkin Park used to tour with obscure acts and stuff (not super obscure, but not as popular as recent tour mates) but I can't see them doing it this time around.
