Fuck that though. I want to hear the harder songs. I enjoy that side of the band. And he sounds excellent on Given Up still and he always has. The only songs that he seems to have a hard time with are New Divide, Crawling and BURN IT DOWN. The rest of the songs sound fine to me. His screaming is still top notch and it has never declined, IMO. I also do care what they play. As a person paying money to go see them play live, I want to hear some old shit, some heavy shit, etc. I don't want to hear only piano versions of shit and stuff like that. Some of that wouldn't bother me, because they have already done that in the past many years ago with Breaking The Habit, Pushing Me Away, My December, etc. but I certainly don't want to pay money and see an entire set of that. I wouldn't go to the shows if that happened. -
Variety isn't a must, no. I agree. I listen to a lot of bands and artists that don't really change up the sound like Linkin Park does from track to track, or even album to album. But if you fundamentally just don't like the style of music, that's ok too. I don't like the sound of Heavy at all. I don't listen to other bands and artists who make that kind of music, either. You're also allowed to dislike something that Linkin Park does, which is something I think a lot of members on this site have a problem with.

Can't believe I'm saying this but I still haven't ordered anything. Whenever new Linkin Park stuff comes out, I usually order the most expensive deal they have as well as buying merch, etc. I actually stayed up all night last night thinking about it all. It's crazy that I've been a fan since 2003 and it's now coming to an end. I tried to force myself to enjoy Heavy last night but I just really couldn't get into it at all. I just really don't like it. I also just really don't like the new ''image'' of the band if you will, either. I don't like the new logo. I don't like the album title. The album artwork I did love but just because I enjoy an album cover doesn't make me want to buy an album if I don't like the music on it. Mike said the album sounds like Heavy, so that's a pretty good indication that I won't like the rest of the album, because I truly hate Heavy. Even the style that the band is dressing in lately annoys me greatly. The guest spots really annoy me. It annoyed me massively with THP and this was just overkill for me. I know Owen Pallet was on LT but he wasn't even listed on the track title and it was minimal. I guess the musical guests don't annoy me as much as ones doing actual vocals and shit, because Daron Malakian and Tom Morello didn't really annoy me, either. When I want to listen to Linkin Park, I want to listen to Linkin Park. In the old days, guests were always kept off main albums. Sure they had some strings done, etc. but it wasn't like this. I just overall do not like this album cycle at all. I will listen to the full album when it comes out but I don't have high hopes. As for as the tour, I would like to say that I will go to as many shows as possible like I usually do, but it depends on the support acts and the set. If Kiiara is the support act I will not go to the tour, which was hinted at during that Facebook live stream thing. If the set is only piano renditions of songs and we don't get any songs from old albums played like normal, I will not go. So I will have to wait and see the details for it. I don't really care who I'm ''offending'' on this site with my opinion. I'm allowed to have my own, or at least I thought I did. I haven't been attacking people directly or anything, I'm really just stating my dislike for all of this. I'm sure that I will be attacked by members like Astat and others because he just hates any opinion that I have, but I felt like I really had to post this. If you like Heavy and the new direction of the band, good on you, I obviously have no problem with it. This is just me getting this off my chest because I was up all night thinking about it last night.

I'm actually thinking the set will be DRASTICALLY different than the past. I think they are going to cut a lot of songs and play mostly piano versions of songs, etc. I'm not sure if songs like One Step Closer, Faint, Bleed It Out, etc. will even be played anymore. I won't go to the shows if that happens, because when I pay a lot of money to go see Linkin Park play live + travel expenses, etc., I expect to see my songs from old albums played like they normally do. If the entire set is going to be some piano version I wouldn't even bother going to a show.

The reason for that is because they only played 3 songs and Chester wasn't running around like a madman on stage like he does. He said once the reason he can't do the 18 second scream in full on Given Up every night is because he is going crazy on stage and it affects his voice in some ways because of it. Makes sense. Crawling and BURN IT DOWN are both hard songs to sing as it is, add that with a full set every night on tour with tons of energy on stage, I can see why he doesn't always sound amazing on them live. -
I don't see how it possibly could be. MTM was extremely diverse and the band said that they wanted the album to be that way, where each song was drastically different than the next. Mike already said that the album sounds like Heavy. It's obvious the band was going for a specific sound with this album, kind of like THP, but it turned out to be whatever this is. LT was also pretty diverse IMO, and Mike and Brad even talked about how LT was diverse during the Studio Update Podcast last year. You get stuff like VICTIMIZED into ROADS UNTRAVELED into SKIN TO BONE and so on and so forth.
-
The fact that there will likely be a shit ton of guests and the fact that Mike said he is singing a lot on this album? I don't even really give a fuck, though. I definitely don't give enough of a fuck to argue about it. I'll just listen to other bands and artists that I enjoy instead.

I thought this would be a performance similar to something like AOL Sessions in 2007. -
Agreed! I have the logo from THP Era tattooed on my arm. I liked that one the most. I guess my advice would be to just choose whatever one you like the most, which is obvious, I know. But there are just so many to choose from.
-
I will. Minutes To Midnight is the best album the band has ever made. 2006-2008 was the best era to be a fan, IMO. And the only good shit the band has even released since MTM was MTM demos on the LPU albums over the years since.
-
Man, I hate it. I hate everything about this.
-
Hate the song. Hate the album title. Hate how expensive it is to be a fan now. Hate how Mike will he singing it all and probably less Chester. What a sad day.
-
Don't like the album title. Don't like how many guests are on the album. Don't like that there won't be much Chester singing. What a sad day for me.
-
Sucks you have to be rich to be a Linkin Park fan nowadays.
-
Ugh. Really hate the way he looks. Haha. But fuck it, the music is what matters.
-
I like it because it's not a completely new logo, it's still the same LP, but different. That's cool to me.
-
I bet One More Light is the album title. Clip sounds good, too. I also love the new LP logo. Wow.
-
Probably just the band talking about Heavy. Possibly album title revealed. Don't expect much more than that, since the last Facebook live event for LPU16 was boring as hell and had little to no details about anything at all except for a bunch of rejected songs that never made the cut for their respective albums.

Gonna try and do a set for the upcoming shows. Decided to do a 21 song set, but without any shortened songs, etc. like they did for THP cycle. Back to normal lengths, etc. Brought back NMS because fans want it and it fits with the current president, etc. Brought back LOATR because I think it's time that it makes a come back in full and the style would fit with the new album. Allowed slots for 3 songs from the new album, probably the most that will be played on this current tour until they release the album. The encore is basically a mega encore. All fan favorites, all huge songs. I decided to open with Faint because I think it would make for a badass opener to just open with it. 01. Faint (With brand new drum intro) 02. LOST IN THE ECHO (Album version, no Holding Company intro) 03. Given Up (With extended outro) 04. No More Sorrow (With new intro) 05. Papercut (Album version) 06. Heavy (Chester singing the Kiiara's part) 07. CASTLE OF GLASS (Experience version, fuck it. Radiance Speech instead of WJL) 08. Numb (Brand new piano version) 09. Waiting For The End (With Apaches intro, extended Wall of Noise outro) 10. Final Masquerade (Album version) 11. New Song 12. In The End (Album version) 13. New Divide (Single version with Mike helping sing in choruses) 14. Lying From You (2008 Intro) 15. Breaking The Habit (2009 intro) 16. Leave Out All The Rest (Album version with guitars, etc) 17. New Song ---Encore--- 18. What I've Done (Sunrise 2011 intro) 19. A Place For My Head (2015 arpeggio intro) 20. One Step Closer (Gunshot intro, no extended outro) 21. Bleed It Out (All extenders)

Such an epic cover. Probably my favorite one LP has ever done honestly.
-
I think so too, maybe. And this https://twitter.com/ChesterBe/status/830998121119313920
-
WID was the last song written for MTM actually and it came together literally in one night.
-
Hahaha, didn't Mike joke about ''One Moron'' on his Twitter?
-
Wow, that's a good realization, actually.
-
Hmm, it could be. I think the band will reveal it tonight so I guess time will tell.
