Meteora in full would be really cool. They should have done that randomly in 2013 or something, the ten year anniversary. LP doesn't seem to ever honor anniversaries or anything like a lot of other bands do, though. They have honored Hybrid Theory a few times in their live career (APFMH Paris 2010, Download 2014) but largely they just don't seem to do it.

I was talking more along the lines of other bands and artists, not Linkin Park, since I really don't even listen to Linkin Park besides for their live shit. Some bands put a lot of filler and it makes it unnecessary to me. A long album doesn't always mean it's the best. Sometimes even a shorter batch of songs that are really powerful can be better, at least to me. EDIT: After watching the second clip, I think LP is heading in dangerous territory a little bit. Not musically, but the way they are discussing the music. The way that they have been talking about this album and hyping it, it could lead to disappointment largely when it finally comes out. Not trying to be negative just for the sake of being negative here.
-
I'd rather have 8 songs over like 15 songs of filler shit. That ruins an album for me. There have been some albums that could have been great if they didn't have so many filler songs. Anything over 12 usually annoys me.

Yeah, that was a bit annoying. I like the black and white cover for MTM and ATS but I thought having all LPTV for ATS being in black and white was a bit much. LT's cover was a bit different, though, there was some color, a little bit, with all the LT artwork. I liked the humanoid artwork for it a lot. THP the art was kind of meh, I think it was meant to be this epic shit but I didn't really like any of it besides that deer thing that they used for the US 2015 tour art.

Yeah, that sucks you had to miss AFI and Thirty Seconds To Mars. But I guess a Meet & Greet is always worth it. And that's pretty awesome that you met Phoenix on the subway. Is that your avatar? Pretty awesome.
-
Wow, that's extremely badass. Was such a good show.
-
Yeah, sucks bro. Wish it was played on Carnivores like I said. Really cool that you got to see it.
-
ALITS sounds much better live than it does studio, just like all of LP's music, IMO. But ALITS is a really good example of it. I agree. It really sucks that they didn't play the song on Carnivores, I would have loved to see it.

So, this was the final show of the tour that I was doing. It also was one of the two LPU Summit's, as well, the other being in Texas. We had a day off in between Wantagh and this show, as stated in my last review of Wantagh. During the day off, we pretty much just hung out in the morning, slept in, etc. We went to a Wal-Mart at one point for whatever reason. But we also had to drive 6 hours to Buffalo, where our hotel was. I think we left at about 1pm to head up there. We got stuck in SUPER traffic going through New York City, etc. It sucked. I also remember opening a package of beef jerky at one point and it smelling up the car, that was pretty funny. I don't think I ended up even eating it really. Haha. We eventually got through New York City and drove through Pennsylvania, etc. I had never been to Pennsylvania before, so that was a first for me. We stopped at a Burger King somewhere in the state and I remember thinking that it was a beautiful state. After that, we eventually got to some rest stop a few hours from Buffalo. Pretty random little place. I couldn't believe how long the drive felt. We then headed back out for the final stretch to Buffalo. Once we got to Buffalo, we hit major traffic. It was about 8pm at this point. We finally got to our hotel and checked in. We went to our rooms and unpacked our stuff, etc. and got ready to go get some dinner and stop at a store. I remember that some old man in a room next to us in the hotel was complaining and yelling at a group of camp kids who were making too much noise, that was pretty funny. They were kind of loud and annoying, though, can't fault him, I guess. We ended up going to a Wal-Mart and I got some stuff. We then just decided to drive through a McDonald's and call it quits since there was a long day and night ahead. I woke up early the next morning, about 7am or so, to prepare for the LPU Summit. We got ready and headed out. I remember the venue being in a really rural, country kind of place, which was cool to see. It reminded me of the same area that the Syracuse, NY show that I went to in 2007 was in. We stopped at some small little country store to get drinks. Once we got to the venue, I remember thinking it was cool, there was an amusement park type thing built into the venue. It was hot as hell that day, probably hotter than the other dates of the tour that I went to, even Holmdel. I remember waiting in line with the rest of the LPU members and talking, etc. We talked to this girl who really wanted to meet the band, so that was cool. She also came into play later on in the day, which I'll write about after. Lorenzo came out eventually and told us that the wait would be a little while longer since they were making sure the venue was safe and ready, etc. Kind of sucked but whatever. We waited longer and finally we were let in. We signed in and got our shirts and laminates. The first event was seeing the stage area and listening to a speech and Q & A from Jim Digby. After that was done, I think it was time for lunch. Can't really remember the exact order of events but I'm trying to. I didn't really like the lunch prepared for us, so that kind of sucked, I hated how they were already pre-packaged and they had condiments already on the sandwich as opposed to just having the sandwich plain and having condiments on the side. After lunch, we hung out for a bit. They had a little merch stand available for LPU CD's, etc. A raffle as well, which I entered just like in 2012, for a chance to get an individual picture with the band. I didn't win again. Haha. Oh well. I have bad luck. After that, we got a tour of the stage. We got to go up on stage and hold Mike's guitar, stand up on Mike's little stage for his keyboard, etc. Really fucking cool. I got some picks, too, Chester and Mike ones. Fans could also go walk out on the catwalk, etc. After that, we headed back out to the main area, where the raffle winners were announced, etc. It was then time to meet the band. We got a Q & A first, which was cool. Nothing memorable as far as questions or whatever. The band then played Final Masquerade acoustically, which was fucking incredible sounding and really cool to see. After that, it was time for the actual Meet & Greet. I can't remember any memorable exchange between me and the band but they were in a good mood, it seemed. The Holmdel Meet & Greet was probably the best one of the tour that I went to, though. After that, we took the group photo and disbanded, heading to the concert area. AFI was already playing at this point, but I didn't care, after seeing them 3 other times so far on the tour. We walked around, got some food, hung out, etc. We then ran into the girl we met at the beginning of the day, who wanted to meet the band. Turns out she actually won the raffle and got to meet the band backstage by herself, along with the Meet & Greet, so that was cool for her. She ended up also being upgraded to pit, the band must have done that, since she had seats originally. We had lawn tickets for this show. She offered to give us her seats since she no longer needed them, which was cool of her. After that, we headed to our seats and watched Thirty Seconds To Mars. They put on a good show. I remember at one point, Jared climbed this huge tower that was holding the tent up, which was crazy but amazing at the same time, he joked that security was going to get pissed. Haha. He also brought some little kid up on stage at one point and the kid revealed that this was his second concert. Jared asked what other concert he went to and he said Nickelback, which prompted most of the crowd to laugh and boo. Very funny. After their set, I walked around the venue a bit and what not. Eventually it was time for Linkin Park. I remember hating the fucking seats that I had. I wanted to go back to the lawn at that point, but I didn't. Nothing too memorable during the actual show except for Rebellion sounding particularly awesome and Mike rapping Reading My Eyes over Bleed It Out, dedicated to the LPU. That was badass. Nobody around me knew the words, it seemed. After the show, we headed back out to the car after a long ass day. We rested in the car for a bit and waited for most of the traffic to get out of there. We then headed out for home, which was the longest drive ever. And it sucked in the middle of the night, after a long day. We probably should have stayed another night at the hotel. We eventually got home and I slept better than I ever had it felt like. Overall, it was a good tour.

So as I said in my Holmdel review, this show took place the day after that show. I woke up at about 9am, almost forgetting where I was. Haha. The day before in Holmdel had destroyed me physically and mentally. I showered and got ready, etc. and we rolled out. We stopped at a Denny's for breakfast. I remember waiting forever since our waitress just never came back at one point. Eventually, we got out of there and we checked out the area for a while. I had never been to Wantagh before, just like Holmdel. After that, we headed to the venue, which was a very weird drive to get there. The venue was really unique, I had thought. There were already fans waiting in line, which sucked because I actually had pit tickets for this show and I wanted to be right up on the bar. Sal was in the line, I remember seeing him and a few other hardcore fans. We got in line and waited for what seemed like FOREVER. Hours. At one point I saw the bass player from AFI walking across the parking lot, that was cool. I wasn't leaving that line for anything, though. Once we were finally let in, I headed straight for the stage. However, at this show, it was a little different. They had two main lines. One for the LPU and Linkin Park, and one for the Thirty Seconds To Mars fanclub. We would both be let in at the same time, which sucked, because that meant it would basically be a free for all to whoever could get up on the rail. Luckily, I made it on the rail. I was so happy. We obviously didn't get to check out the MFR Booth, the merch booth, or food since I wanted to be on the rail. We waited even longer and finally it was time for the show. AFI opened up and played through the same set they had been playing. Good set. After they were done, it was time for Thirty Seconds To Mars. I hadn't seen them yet since I had Meet & Greet's for both the Mansfield and Holmdel shows, so I was pretty excited to see what they had to offer. Once they came on, they didn't disappoint. Very high energy, tons of fun, etc. I remember at one point Jared pointed out some person in the seats who didn't stand up, which annoyed him. That was pretty funny. The confetti and the beach balls during the set were also cool. It was a fun experience and I already had known a lot of their songs beforehand, so that was good. Once they were over, it was time for the main event (at least for me), Linkin Park. Fans started getting pushy at this point, trying to get up on the bar, but I wasn't letting that happen. Linkin Park opened with Guilty All The Same, with Chester running out as soon as the riff started, looking happy as hell, but ready to rock at the same time. They tore through the set and I rocked out and sang along to every song. Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You was epic to see, even though they did it at the Mansfield show that I went to as well. Somewhere I Belong also in particular sounded great to me at this show. Mike said ''this is fucking fun'' right before the song started. Pretty cool. The band closed out the set once again with What I've Done and Bleed It Out, but this show also featured a surprise, just like Holmdel. Chester came out to do the Ice Bucket Challenge, after being nominated the night before in Holmdel, which I had strangely forgot about. He had some of his kids come out and dump the bucket on him, which was funny. Chester nominated AFI and Thirty Seconds To Mars. Not sure if they ever did it or not. After the show, I headed back out to the booth area and ran into Mark, etc. at the MFR Booth. It was the last show for him, which sucked, since I thought he was going up to Darien Center as well for the LPU Summit. After that, we left the venue, which actually wasn't too hard to get out of, the traffic seemed bearable, maybe because the parking lot was so huge. I remember we went to a Checker's and Rally's drive-thru afterwards, which I had never ate before. It was fucking good, actually. I hadn't eaten since Denny's at that point so I was starving. I think we explored a little more of Wantagh and ended up just going back to the hotel and I crashed. The next day I had a day off in between shows.

This show took place 2 days after the Mansfield show that I went to. The day before the show, since I was home and it was a day off in between shows, I just hung out mostly and we got prepared for the week since I wouldn't be home for about 5 days or so. We cleaned out the rental car, bought a camera at Best Buy, got some snacks for the road, etc. The day of the show, we left at about 10am to head out to Holmdel, which is about 3 and a half hours from where I live. My Grandma was driving. The drive felt like forever for some reason. We stopped at a rest area at some point along the way and ate at a Popeye's Chicken, which I've never had before, it was good. After that, we got back on the road and headed for the venue. Once we got to the venue, it was unlike any other venue I had ever seen up to that point. We hung out in the car for a bit. We had seats like we did in Mansfield, so I didn't need to go wait in line early or anything. Once we decided to go up to the actual venue, I remember it being the longest walk of my life. LOL. It was extremely hot and muggy that day and walking up that hill, etc. really sucked. Once we got to the venue, we checked out the Stavros thing, the 3D figures of the band, etc. Then we went in and immediately went over to the MFR Booth and said whats up, etc. After that, I checked out the merch and bought some more stuff. We then headed to our seats. AFI was the opening band once again obviously, and they played just as good as they did in Mansfield. One guy, sitting near us, was a huge AFI fan and he was visibly having a good time, which was cool. Once they were done, we headed to find the Meet & Greet line. It was at a cool spot, right next to where the food was, etc. I bought some food and hung out at a picnic table nearby until it was time. I met Dmitry at that point, he's a really cool guy. Joe and Brad actually came out right out in the open and signed stuff abruptly, which I thought was weird, but cool at the same time. I couldn't believe random people walking around the venue didn't even notice, at least where I was they didn't seem to. Once they signed stuff, we were led to a backstage area that was really fucking cool looking. It was really closed off and it was a nice spot. The rest of the band then came out and signed stuff, etc. I asked Mike if he still kept in touch with Styles Of Beyond, and he said sometimes, but he hadn't talked to them in a while at that point. I used to be a huge Styles Of Beyond fan back in the day, which is why I asked. I think I talked to Chester, etc. as well but I can't remember what I said. The band seemed to be in a really great mood, though, and they spent a lot of time with the fans, longer than past Meet & Greet's that I had gone to, even the Mansfield one a few days prior. After they were done signing and talking with the fans, we took the group photos, which I was completely erased from, meaning that I can't see myself in the photos, since I was so far back and I guess I was just blocked by other people. I can still see myself in some other photos from the Meet & Greet though, so it's all good I guess, but it still sucks. After the Meet & Greet, we were led back out to the venue and I hung around for a little bit, just walking around, checking out the venue. It was a cool venue to me, although really old fashioned, I liked it, and the night air had a breeze which was nice after the sweltering day. Thirty Seconds To Mars had already finished their set before the Meet & Greet was even over with, unlike in Mansfield. Once everyone started heading into the amphitheater for Linkin Park, we headed to our seats. Linkin Park opened with Guilty All The Same again, which didn't pack the same hard hitting feeling that it did in Mansfield, maybe it was the sound of the venue or something. Still good, though, I loved it as an opener. The set was pretty much the same. I remember during Joe's Solo, some kid, obviously on some sort of drugs, was spazzing out, like he was going crazy, and everyone around me was laughing, etc. Really funny. He was really tripping out hard, and during Robot Boy, he looked like he was going to pass out. But he never did, luckily. I remember thinking Final Masquerade sounded really good at this show, for some reason. The band closed with What I've Done and Bleed It Out again, which was cool, and then there was a special surprise. Mike said Steve Aoki hit him up to do the Ice Bucket Challenge, which was obviously huge in the summer of 2014. Mike had Chester dump the water on him, which was cool. Sal also got to do the challenge with Mike, I thought that was really cool. Mike nominated Chester and Austin from Of Mice & Men. After the show, we headed to our car, which was a super long walk once again, but it didn't feel as bad as when we first got there earlier in the day. I remember seeing these guys selling bootleg t-shirts and stuff and the cops telling them that they had to leave. Haha. Once we got to our car, we waited in some traffic, and I got a text from an old friend that I hadn't talked to in years at that point, so that was kind of cool, not sure why I remember that, but yeah. Once we got out, we went to a nearby rest area type place and got some food, etc. We then planned to drive to our hotel in Wantagh, since we were staying over and the show was the next day. We ended up getting lost on the way there, which sucked, because the GPS took us to the middle of nowhere in some residential neighborhood in the middle of the night. LOL. We ended up finding the right way and got back on the highway, which of course had night construction going on, so that further delayed us. I was dead tired at this point, basically falling asleep. Once we got to the hotel, I crashed completely, almost forgetting that I was going to a show again the next day.

I woke up pretty early in the morning the day of the show. It was a beautiful day, hot and sunny. Wasn't unbearable though, nothing like Mansfield 2007. Got ready, ate breakfast, etc. Mansfield is about a 2 and a half hour drive for me. My Mom was driving to the show because I didn't have a reliable vehicle at the time. We left at about 11am and hit the road. We stopped once at a gas station to get some snacks, etc. Once we got in Mansfield, we went to a nearby Wendy's for lunch. I saw a few Linkin Park fans there who were also going to Carnivores. After we ate, we headed to the venue. Once we got to the venue, there were already a ton of people there. I didn't mind since we had seats anyways, so there was no rush to be up front or anything like I do when I have pit tickets. We waited for the doors to open, probably an hour or two. Once they let us in, I headed over to the merch booth to check out the merch on the tour. I ended up buying some stuff, and my Mom ran into one of her friends from work who was also at the show, to see Thirty Seconds To Mars. They talked for a while and then we headed to our seats. On the way to our seats, I ran into the MFR Booth and ran into Jonas and Mark and a few other people, which was pretty cool. After talking to them, we went inside the amphitheater to our seats. AFI was up first, and I didn't know what to expect. I liked their music a lot at the time, so I knew I would enjoy their set for the most part. I had been playing Burials for months before this show. They opened with The Leaving Song Pt. 2 and it blew the place apart. There weren't tons of people inside at that point, but there were enough, and you could see the AFI fans in the pit having a great time. Epic sounding song. I also loved I Hope You Suffer, that was a great performance of the song. Overall, it was a great little set from AFI. Once AFI was done, I headed to find the Meet & Greet line, since I had a Meet & Greet for the show. It was at the same spot as when I had the Meet & Greets in 2012 and 2007. There were already some people lined up, but not many, so I was one of the first people in the line, which has never happened to me before at a Meet & Greet. After a long while, we finally got let in, I think Thirty Seconds To Mars had already started their set at that point. Once we got to the other side of the fence, in an enclosed area, we waited a while longer, while people talked, etc. I remember fans asking people how many shows they had been to, etc. Once it was time for the actual Meet & Greet with the band, we were led down a hill into a tent area, where the band was. It was the same as 2007 and 2012, the way we went in, naturally. Brad was there alone at first, and we took a group photo with just him, and he signed our stuff. I can't remember if Joe signed along with him or not, but Joe wasn't in the group photo with Brad. After that, the entire band came out, and they started signing everyone's stuff. I told Mike at this Meet & Greet that I've been seeing the band since 2007, and he said that was really cool, etc. I also showed Chester the tattoo that I have on my leg, the old dragon tattoo that he used to have, and he said ''Oh shit man, I covered that one up'', and he showed me his new tattoo. He said it was cool that I got the tattoo, etc. After they were done signing everything, they took a few group photos with us, and they left the area. We were then escorted out of the area as well, back out to where we were let in. At this point, Thirty Seconds To Mars was still playing, I think it may have been their second to last song or something. I texted my Mom that I was out and she could come meet me if she wanted to, but she said she wanted to watch the rest of their set since she was really enjoying it. Once they were done, she met me, and I went to the bathroom, got a Gatorade, etc. and hung out for a little bit. Not sure if I went down to see Mark and Jonas again or not, I may have. After that, we headed back to our seats for Linkin Park. After what felt like forever, Linkin Park finally came on. They opened with Guilty All The Same, and it was epic. I could feel the heaviness and the energy in my chest and it was a cool feeling, despite having seen Linkin Park so many times before, something about the way Guilty All The Same sounded at this venue was awesome. They tour through the entire set with huge energy, something that was good about their whole ''DJ Style'' set, which basically meant that they didn't ever have a gap in between songs like they used to do. I remember my Mom thinking that With You was off of A Thousand Suns. Haha. Joe's Solo was pretty cool to see live, with Joe in that prism, etc. The set ended with What I've Done and Bleed It Out, two of my favorite Linkin Park songs, and it was done. It was a great show, I wish there was a recording available for it. After the show, we walked out of the venue and got to our car and waited in the parking lot traffic forever until we could get out. It was similar to the traffic in 2007, if you read my Mansfield 2007 review. I don't think we even got food after the show, we just headed home. I remember hearing Carnivore by Starset on the radio during the way home, which was funny since we just saw the Carnivores Tour.
-
Meh. I wish some tour info would leak...
-
I think it partially comes down to the fact that I hate female vocalists in general. I prefer male vocalists 100%.
-
Is there a big zip file or something available for LPTV? There are certain episodes I would like to have saved on my computer. I guess I can download them all separately.
-
I realized that LP will probably only play this song with Kiango once and after that they will probably play it themselves on tour like they did with GATS and Rebellion. And that's calmed me down, since I only listen to LP live anyways.
-
Astat is a bigger LP fan than anybody in this thread and has been around longer than anyone in this thread. Just saying.
-
Hahahahahahahhaha. Is that song above supposed to be an example of that?
-
I'll listen to the song when it comes out. I'll post what I think once I hear it.
-
I literally don't even have to listen to the song to know that I will hate it. Really let down right now.
-
Not a fan of her music, her scene, or that style of music. I can tell this will be the end of LP for me.
-
At this point I don't even care about the single or album anymore, I really just want some U.S. tour dates to drop, which I know will be coming this spring probably. Carnivores dates were announced early March and Honda Civic Tour dates were announced April. But other tours have had shorter wait times in between announcement and tour, so who knows. Either way, I'm really pumped to see LP live again.
-
The fact that Linkin Park sold out a show in Peru almost instantly is huge news, much bigger news than some shitty single dropping, etc. Really cool. The live side of the band has always been infinitely better than the studio side anyways.
-
100% disagree.
-
Yes, many people have been saying that. It's definitely finished at this point, IMO. I mean they were working on mixing it at the beginning of December and it's now basically February. But even if it weren't 100% done, at least the single is, IMO. So I think we will be seeing the release of the single this week, especially with the new news about Chester being at Apple HQ today, which is where Zane Lowe does his shit now, etc.
