  1. 2014 Mike is one of LP's biggest blunders, for sure. That was embarrasing.
  2. But it wasn't like they were sitting around doing nothing in 2016. They started work on OML then. It's unlike the time span between Meteora and MTM, where, with the exception of Mike (Fort Minor), they took a long time off.
  3. Or stop supporting this stupid system and get normal tickets for the pit?
  4. My post wasn't intended to provide a counterpoint to your post. It rather got me thinking on why he gets the respect that he is getting (aside from being a super successful musician/artist), haha.
  5. Mike is recognized because he carried the Hip-Hop aspect with the utmost respect since day 1. I think people with a strong Hip-Hop background can acknowledge him because he always showed that he knows what Hip-Hop is about. Unlike many other "rappers" in rock bands back then, he "lived" and respected the culture (plus, you know, wrote some killer rap parts and produced a LOT of amazing beats). I doubt many people from the genre would call him one of the best to ever do it, but they most certainly respect him for being "real" in a way. At least that's my feeling.
  6. There were some interesting tidbits. Like Jay-Z not wanting to collab with them at the Grammy's or Rakim driving from New York to LA. But man, the host got so hammered, I laughed my ass off. And Mike had a buzz going for sure in the end, you could sense it.
  7. It didn't help that the host got progressively more stoned
  8. Wild interview, haha.
  9. Wow, nice catch.
  10. That is something I would like to listen to
  11. Great stuff, man! Thanks for that. The RAR version sounds so sloppy, holy shit. Never realized that.
  12. Regarding "Papercut": Alex seems to follow the album version which has this kind of stop/go rhythm (might be more bass related, can't say for sure). So if anything, he keeps it close to the source material, I guess?
  13. Mark has been pointing out the flaws in Alex's playing (at least how he perceives them) for quite some time now. I haven't seen them live, so some of the points he made might be more audible then. But I also checked different recordings here and there and can't agree on that basis. Also, it has become a running gag sort of thing because Mark is usually a super chill dude about everything LP related, but his criticism of Alex has turned a bit comedical at this point. I agree with you, though, that Brad (aside from his way of playing and thus "sounding" on stage) was notorious for being sloppy since forever. Overall, Alex seems much more on point from the small sample size I checked.
  14. Man, these two points hit hard for me, too. Especially the second one. Back in the day I was SO hyped for a new LP album because I wanted to listen to new Chester performance. Seeing (or rather listening), what he did on a new album and maybe get some great screams here and there. I feel you on that one!
  15. Yeah, the perspective is unique, that's for sure. I guess it's the same for everything: As long as people buy these tickets, they will be supplied. As long as the people are happy, it's... a thing.
  16. @KeysToTheLinkinPark @LPLStaff Thanks for the elaboration on that. Nice compromise, even though I think they are shitty seats, a lot of people got a chance to see the band because of them. As long as it was a discounted price, all good. Also @LPLStaff A couple days ago I was thinking whether you would get annoyed by Alex again. Seems like you two won't become friends anytime soon
  17. What a stupid set-up with the fans behind the stage? Rip.
  18. Yeah, I feel you. I'm not a fan of these, either.
  19. 😂 Happy that I don't feel FOMO anymore and didn't buy the album initially. Might pick it up now. But who knows, maybe in another 6 months we'll get the making of edition of the album?
  20. I assume you have seated tickets? If so, then it will be a chilled out experience. Go there, enjoy your time together, get to your seats and have fun. It might be weird for you to see the band "in person" for the first time, as you only know them from videos and such. But that will probably settle really quick so you can get back to singing along or just sitting there and watching the show. There is not much of a right or wrong kind of thing. If you got pit tickets, it might be a bit different. LP's shows are far gone from being "mosh"-heavy, but you might find yourself at or around the action. The most important thing: Don't panic, no one is there to hurt you, and people watch out for and help each other. If there is no moshing around you, then you will just be standing there (instead of sitting) and do the same thing: singing along, bang your head, dance ... whatever suits you. Just enjoy yourself and you will have a great time :).
  21. I knew you were teasing with information we didn't have. Faiplay and good job. You kept us hyped without ever revealing anything (aside from the fact that something's coming (pun kinda intended))
  22. Mike was the biggest blunder during THP and OML. The way he called out artists for being poppy, only to release some of the most bland pop music a couple of years later is super cringe (albeit mostly forgotten).
  23. Absolutely amazing performance.
  24. Super curious here (not a drummer). It was mentioned in the booklet how Rob stepped up his game with that song and (like you said) it got mentioned all the time since then in this context. But I never quite got why. Is it the way he combines the hi-hats in his groove?
  25. Hey everyone, while watching some live videos recently, I figured it's overdue to give Mr. Rob Bourdon some kudos. What would you consider to be Rob's top 5 best works on any LP related material, and what do you enjoy about it? Let's highlight our beloved and appreciated ex-drummer, what do you say?
