This episode made me really happy. Seeing all those people from around the world coming together all the time for LP is super wholesome and awesome. Would've loved me some Alex, though.
-
I'm with you on that one. We don't know her current status, which is why I asked for new information on that if available. It's super fucked up what lengths these assholes will go to to make your life hell. And AGAIN: I don't judge her negatively by the fact because I know what being in the closer range of this cult means.
-
My god... How dense can one person be? Scientology IS a cult. She IS a member (if you have different information on that, please share). So TECHNICALLY she IS in a cult. Other people hate her just for this FACT, which is their thing - I don't. But I can acknowledge facts, which you are obviously having trouble with. You really need to stop interpreting what other people think or what kinds of people they are. You are not good at it, and it's reaching unseen levels of logical fallacies. Not withstanding the fact that it gets insulting with your constant assumptions. So, please, call a spade a spade, so we can discuss something concrete. Everything else is needless trolling. I would love to chill for now, but I also can't let such behavior continue to happen. So, sorry for everyone who feels "disrespected" because of this off-topic excursion.

I read stuff in the shoutbox, so... yeah, I can see what nonsense you like to spout. And to close this: You extrapolate the crazy stuff (which is despicable) from different forums/communities onto people over here on no ground other than "it was tracking". So next time you do so, gladly point at a concrete thing a concrete person said so that we all can see how you come to these conclusions, instead of keeping it vague and up for interpretation. I know what people write about the band and Emily out there (again, despicable), but that doesn't apply here at all (from all I can tell, at least). So, again, if you talk about being disrespectful, please be an example and not a driver. PS: Scientology is a cult, so make of that what you will.
-
At least I'm not accusing a user of "Or are u maybe sore because u one of those LP died with Chester, Emily is in a cult, or who knows, maybe u are a GD band member lmao" So if you talk about low level, please check your own doorstep. And don't forget that you were actively pushing the narrative that some users on here are woman haters because they had an opinion (how crudly worded these might have been) about Emily.
-
I feared as much, but I apologize profusely! My statement about "woman hater" was not directed towards you. It is something that some people on these boards like to proclaim when people criticize Emily. And seeing as Cesar dug deep in the bag of stupid things to say towards people who criticize the band, I felt the need to add this important accusation. Again: It was tongue in cheek directed at the absurdity some people have to deal with on here, who don't jump in excitement for everything the band does.

As someone that has been around for the band as long (or even longer?) than you: LP were always a cash cow. In the beginning and for the longest time it was obviously strongly focused by Warner. What is happening now is the fact that they (I would "accuse" the band more now) go with the flow of the times. I haven't spent a single amount of currency on the band since they came back. But as long as fans willingly throw their cash at everything they put out, these things will further escalate (this accounts for everything in life -> vote with your wallet!). It's just natural, unfortunately. Also @cesar You forgot the possibility that he hates women. Because everyone who criticizes the band might obviously be a woman hater.

Or they could just... release a movie the normal way in cinemas and on streaming services later on. It would be so stupid to make a freaking MOVIE and then just shelf it.
-
As if they wouldn't try to make more money with it after the cinema tour. It will be out there either way, whether officially or not.
-
Saw no one talk about the Pusha T collab on "With You". Was this done prior to Zürich, too?
-
Yeah, that's fair, I can see that. It's definitely a special song.
-
TLTGYA? Wow. It's one of their absolute best songs to me from a song (and message!) perspective. The outro is timeless. But that's the thing about them I guess.
-
The comeback stream felt like a great closure moment for me. Seeing them back on stage, happy, energetic, and with strong lead singer vocals was great. To share it as a special moment in LP's history with the world was wholesome and fullfilling. It's so cool that the world still loves LP and took them back in with the most open of arms, granting them their biggest commercial success ever, establishing them for years to come. At the same time I'm super content with the fact that my personal fandom is just not there anymore. I'm not a hardcore LP fan anymore, caring for every little bit of what the band does, caring for setlists. There was a time and place in my life for that and I will always dive back into this nostalgia as long as the band let's me. I will gladly listen to every studio output they'll produce, but more on a fun level, not an emotional one. I haven't seen them live for 16 years, and I probably won't ever again. So, thank you Linkin Park for coming back, taking the world by storm again, and granting me peace with how I feel about the band.
-
It usually does, though. But yeah, LP definitely had an impact on sales.
-
Fucking AI thumbnails are such big piles of shit.
-
Geki with the hot take, I see?
-
This is actually an interesting aspect to consider on why the fans seemed so static at times. Wind levels at Rock am Ring can influence the sound in a really bad way. It can throw you off because it sounds disjointed on an ever-changing level.
-
A documentary about the rebuild. Awesome. Might contain some crazy footage from the times of the end till the new beginning
-
Wow, you can actually criticize something about LP? Now the world has gone truly dark ;). I agree, though. Technical difficulties aside, Emily was way off during the chorus. It's a shame that she doesn't utilize the raspiness of her voice much more like she did during the bridge.
-
I pretty much agree with you on everything. Only thing to add is iirc OML live was always supposed to happen regardless of what happened. But I could be wrong on that. LIT was made as a cinematic experience (it was shown in movie theaters during the release). It's cool for what it is, but the sound feels fakish, especially when you were listening to bootlegs from that time. What bothers me the most about it is the decision to use the support gig for Metallica as their first full live DVD release. It should've been a headline show that captures the feeling of seeing them live at that time. The P:R 02 show from HT20 would've been the better choice, but it would also have been total overkill, if they released that at the end of the HT cycle. People were criticizing the band (and label) back then for the constant releases with only one full (36 minute) album to their name. And if you want to include Meteora for the first live release, fine, take something from P:R 03.
-
That is so weird. They wanted to sell it in the first place. Now there is a whole dedicated platform interested, and the ignore it. So unfortunate.
-
I, for example, firmly believe that the rap verses in "Figure.09" were used because Chester wasn't able to record his intended singing parts at the end of the cycle alongside SIB and FTI because he still was too sick. I can't exactly recall all the details to this assumption from the top of my head, though. But there is a rationale behind it! What are your little LP conspiracies. You all have them... do you?
-
Yeah, the first iteration of LYF sounds super bland.
-
A wild Geki appears. Again.
-
Both things can be true. They sounded great in 07 and afterwards. But 01-04 were undoubtedly the peak years of their live energy and thickness of their live sound. Only the FZ era beats that, and it is because of the circumstances of them reforming and FINALLY embracing their OG sound.
