On the 22nd, Linkin Park plays a one-off show at the iHeartRadio Music Festival at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. This is their first performance at this festival, but definitely not their first in Las Vegas!

The oldest date we know of that had the band in Vegas comes on October 29, 2000 at the House of Blues on the Kottonmouth Kings Ridin' High Tour. Perhaps when the band was called Hybrid Theory they played the city, but this is the first known date we have. They headlined the same venue in February 2001 (show page here) - a show where Ryu and Tak of Styles of Beyond and Stephen Richards of Taproot all joined them on stage during the show. A great DVD of that performance is pretty easy to find across the net! LP played the Thomas & Mack Center to close Projekt Revolution 2002 (show page here), The Joint @ Hard Rock Hotel in 2003 as a warm-up show for Summer Sanitarium (show page here) (likely the live debuts of 'Figure.09' and 'Numb'), and the Thomas & Mack Center again on 2004's Meteora World Tour.

In 2007, the band played three shows in three days in Las Vegas - three songs for a Halo 3 / MTV VMA party, a full headlining show in the parking lot of the Hard Rock Hotel, and basically a surprise performance of 'Bleed It Out' with Timbaland for the MTV VMA's. A two night stand at The Joint came in 2008 while Chester was pretty sick and the band had to drastically alter the setlists....(show pages here and here), and later that year they canceled a show at the same venue for a UNLV private show. And finally, last year they played the MGM Grand - Garden Arena (show page here) and The Joint again (show page here).

In the rare case no one has ever seen it, and in case anyone wants to see the coolest 'Bleed It Out' intro around...here's that epic Timbaland intro from 2007:

This will be the band's thirteenth show in Las Vegas. The set times reveal that Linkin Park should get about ten songs, play at 10:25p PT / 1:25a ET and will be between Taylor Swift and deadmau5. Interesting!

A stream of the show can be caught here. Who will be watching? What do you think the band will perform for their ten songs? Mike said they will be doing something special....any guesses about what that means?

After this show, the band heads to South America for five shows, beginning with Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 5th and concluding with four shows in Brazil. For the full 2012 tour schedule including upcoming dates and past setlists, click here.

The whole "uber-medley" idea seems the most plausible...pretty sure they're playing this show with only a day's worth of rehearsals, so I doubt we'll see any new songs debuted at this show. What they rehearsed prior to the Honda Civic Tour is pretty much what we're looking to get, strictly from a songs standpoint...what they decide to do arrangement-wise is the big question mark.
