Nameless Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 As many of you already know, Blackbirds started few hours ago to be spread like fire around the web. The song is clearly the Sixth String Song, or at least a reinterpretation of it. What do you think of the song? Are you satisfied or not? What about lyrics? Let us know by replying this thread. Anyone who posts direct links to the game or the song will be permabanned from LPLive. Anyone who spams inside the thread asking for the game or the song will end up having his/her account suspended. Anyone asking for a song via PM in an indirect way - will get suspended too. Quote
Dexter Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Would this make 15 out of the 17 tracks originally intented to be on MTM? Quote
Xero21 Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 (edited) I shiver and shake through warm or cold I'm alone, on my own In every mistake I dig this hole through my skin and bones it's harder starting over than never to have changed. With blackbirds following me I'm digging out my grave they close in, swallowing me the pain it comes in waves I'm getting back what I gave I sweat through the sheet as daylight fades as I waste away they trapped me inside mistakes I made thats the price I paid its harder starting over than never to have changed With blackbirds following me I'm digging out my grave they close in, swallowing me the pain it comes in waves I'm getting back what I gave I drop to the floor like I did before Stop ----------------------- and I can't be more What I want and what I need are a constant war Like a well full of poison, -------------------- The blood goes thin, the fever stings and I shake from the hell that the habits bring lay the sick ones down, the bells will ring put pennies on the eyes let the dead men sing. With blackbirds following me I'm digging out my grave they close in, swallowing me the pain it comes in waves I'm getting back what I gave I'm getting back what I gave I'm getting back what I gave Not much can be made out of what the intro is, it's too distorted. We'll have to wait until we can hear better quality. Edited April 25, 2010 by Xero21 Quote
ChuckCheese Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 (edited) Rough interpretation of lyrics, changed it a bit since my initial post in the 8-Bit Release thread.. Here's mine...changed it a bit to what you put since I some of your parts make more sense. Drop like get up(?) Take to the streets On Iraq(?), yeah, get up Face full of teeth When it's hot(?), yeah, spit up Tasting the beat(or heat?) Like a beast(?) (No idea what he's saying here..) Speak from your gut like a rush of blood Gave red on the (something) to the ones you love Lay the sick ones down and the bells will ring Put pennies on their eyes, let the dead men sing I shiver and shake through warm and cold I'm alone On my own In every mistake I dig this hole through my skin And bones It's harder starting over Than never to have changed With blackbirds following me I'm digging out my grave (or brain?) They close in, swallowing me The pain, it comes in waves I'm getting back what I gave I sweat through the sheet as daylight fades As I waste away It traps me inside mistakes I made That's the price I pay It's harder starting over Than never to have changed With blackbirds following me I'm digging out my grave (or brain?) They close in, swallowing me The pain, it comes in waves I'm getting back what I gave I drop to the floor like I did before Stop, watching I'm coughing, I can't be more What I want and what I need are a constant war Like a well full of poison, a rotten core The blood goes thin, the fever stings And I shake from the hell that the habits bring Lay the sick ones down The bells will ring Put pennies on their eyes, let the dead men sing Blackbirds following me I'm digging out my grave (or brain?) They close in, swallowing me The pain, it comes in waves I'm getting back what I gave I'm getting back what I gave Edited April 25, 2010 by ProjektCharlotte Quote
Numbrocker Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 I really like it! Chester doesn't need to be screaming in every song!! Quote
Xero21 Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 This song is better than Across The Line. Yeah I said it. Quote
Masterli Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 I'm not satisfied. I only like Mike parts. Chester parts are boring. My opinion 4/10 Quote
Xero21 Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 I really like it! Chester doesn't need to be screaming in every song!! This. It seems like sometimes LP fans will be satisfied with anything as long as there is screaming, no matter the lyrics or song structure. Quote
SergSlim Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 I would love to get the full song if possible. The only possible way to get it is to buy the game, finish it and listen to the song... If you think otherwise - read the bolded text in main post of this thred and get ready for a suspension Quote
Nameless Posted April 25, 2010 Author Posted April 25, 2010 I would like to get my warn level increased if possible. As you want Quote
levisa92 Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 mike's rap is back!XD the song is awesome btw Quote
Xare Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 (edited) Mike's part will be a good POA intro Edited April 25, 2010 by Xare Quote
lerkid Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 it's awesome! the intro i was like wtf cuz it sounded like poor shity recording i though it was a olddd song like in the 1990s it gave me that feel when mike started it. lol Quote
Qwerty18 Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 (edited) Weird intro, good song, but like I said in the other thread, LP would need to go heavy again. Not especially in the HT style, but heavy. Come on, 90% of their songs since the MTM-era are mellows...I don't have nothing against soft music, but too much is too much. How will become the live shows if LP continues to put out pop songs like that? Boring, simply boring. EDit: anyway, I like Blackbirds on its own. Soft LP tracks are generally good, but the problem is they ONLY release soft songs since 2007. Where is variety? Edited April 25, 2010 by Qwerty18 Quote
HybridThe0ry97 Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 I drop to the floor like I did before Stop ----------------------- and I can't be more What I want and what I need are a constant war Like a well full of poison, -------------------- The blood goes thin, the fever stings and I shake from the hell that the habits bring lay the sick ones down, the bells will ring put pennies on the eyes let the dead men sing. I think it's: Like a well full of poison, a rotten core Quote
vyonizr Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 I was surprised on the intro. I thought that 1990-ish recording quality will last till the end xD . But I was wrong. The song is great! 8.7/10 ! Mike's rapping is back! Quote
Numbrocker Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 This. It seems like sometimes LP fans will be satisfied with anything as long as there is screaming, no matter the lyrics or song structure. *cough*Given Up*cough* Oh and anymore listening to Blackbirds, the beginning is apprantly supposed to sound like Mike is rapping from far away. You don't have crappy quality (or at least a really bad one) Quote
Subs Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Its different. Structure, sound, etc is different. It'll grow on people I expect. Quote
VavourasLP Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Now this song is the best of the mid tempo tracks that LP has released lately, and Mike's rapping makes it even better. I just don't want another Mid tempo track..from now on I want some heavy shit. Blackbirds is very nice though, I like the fort minor feel combined with Chester's awesomeness Quote
ernieball003 Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 The song is more magical than the guitar finish. Quote
FORTsunrise Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 I really like the song. The lyrics are strong and Mike's rap is nice, though I felt the song could have done without his intro freestyle. I will say that musically it stayed a straight line but it worked for the harmonies and lyrics. Overall, I'd give it a 8/10 After seeing the trailer, they had be believing that Mike would be rapping the song's verses. I think we were all suckered by that. Quote
Papelbon Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 I like the song overall, but can see how it didnt make the cut for the album Quote
