Jgrosk Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 2008 when Shadow of the Day was playing on the radio all the time, I loved the song and MTM was the first album I ever actually bought. I didn't became a hardcore fan until 2009 though. Quote
lpfan12 Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 i brought my first copy when i was in middle school.i was blown away when i first heard it Quote
Stranger Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Started to listen to them on 2000. Before them, I used to listened to Limp Bizkit but then, one day, my brother showed me a new band in the magazine which is Linkin Park. since then, i've started to collects all their stuff till now. Quote
BeardyWilderness Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Shortly after the video for In The End came out. My dads friend gave me a burned copy of HT but there were 2 missing tracks. I don't remember which they were but I think one was PMA... Quote
LPngdf Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 2007, when I first heard What I've Done. Then I listened to MTM and I was so impressed. After that I bought Hybrid Theory and Meteora (no Reanimation btw., because I thought I had that, but that was a fake album ). Jep, since then I'm a fan Quote
SergSlim Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Spring 2004 for me. I heard their songs before that, but never liked them. Then in 2004 I saw few music videos in school (including fan-made video of In The End (Final Fantasy 9/ATOMX)) and fell in love with them since that time. Quote
nikolajlaulp Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 I started listening to LP around 2007, i was hooked on Numb and ITE (Obvious right?). I would say i became a fan around 2008, when i bought MTM, and fell in love with that album. And they've been my favorite band ever since. Quote
Southpaw262 Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 What song made Linkin Park most known? Was it One Step Closer, Crawling or In The End? Quote
GlassCastles Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 One Step Closer and Crawling are what got them radio play and some mainstream attention, but In The End was their biggest hit and drew in the most fans. Quote
Southpaw262 Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 One Step Closer and Crawling are what got them radio play and some mainstream attention, but In The End was their biggest hit and drew in the most fans. Thought so. In The End is their "signature" song. It's what cones to mind when people think of Linkin Park. Quote
JZLP-Benningstrong Posted June 6, 2014 Author Posted June 6, 2014 ITE was the Rolling In The Deep of the 2001, it was everywhere. Quote
Jen Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I probably have the strangest "how did you get into listening to LP" story ever. I was pregnant with my first child, in early 2001, and had mtv on, back when they actually still played music videos, and one step closer came on and my daughter started kicking like crazy. It, and she, both had my attention. I guess she liked it. Quote
JZLP-Benningstrong Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL That story is so fucking EPIC! I love it, you should tell that story to the band members! Is your son a LP fan??? Quote
linkin_boss Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Spring 2004 for me. I heard their songs before that, but never liked them. Then in 2004 I saw few music videos in school (including fan-made video of In The End (Final Fantasy 9/ATOMX)) and fell in love with them since that time. :3 my story it's quite similar, I started to listen them around Winter 2004, I saw an AMV (It was about Shaman king, with Somewhere I Belong), I got really caught by the song (I didn't listened much music back then), I downloaded both albums and enjoyed them a lot. Quote
Tyleronlplive Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I knew a few of there songs before i became a big fan, and heard a lot more of them when MTM came out, but I chose 2011 because that was when I started listening to the majority of their songs Quote
LPMaskMan Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 April of 2004 (I know the date becasue I found the files dates of ripping on some data CD few weeks ago. ). A classmate lent me HT and LB's Chocholate Starfish albums on CDs and I ripped them into my PC and listened alot, mostly LP. Also I discovered the music video search in WMP and some fansites like linkinpark2k.com (now defunct but works in archive) and seen pics and videos of the band. I easily got liked their music. Quote
lpplus Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 The first song I heard of LP was OSC in LPU 4 and it was insane but I become an hardcore fan after watching WID music video in 2007. Quote
Exzero Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 2003, I saw Somewhere I belong on MTV. I liked the music, but became not a fan immediatly, it was Numb which put me in a few months later. The music by the band influences me a lot, because of this I'm still a fan today. Quote

andydlp Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 I was borderline between late 2000 and early 2001. I was aware of OSC but I think once I heard Crawling, I was like..."I'm getting that album!" Quote
Trumtram Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 11/25/00 9:13pm had the OSC file from napster for a long time. it had the bridge two times which I thought was right until february of 2001 when HT was released in germany. Quote
itworkedforkurt Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 The earliest I could have heard of them might be 2004, but I became a dedicated fan in 2006, when I was nine. Quote
thedamian58c Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 85 members already voted, and I'm still the one who is a LP fan for the shortest period of time I probably have the strangest "how did you get into listening to LP" story ever. I was pregnant with my first child, in early 2001, and had mtv on, back when they actually still played music videos, and one step closer came on and my daughter started kicking like crazy.
