  1. If LP is playing Europe 2016 in the summer, we should get a show announcement sometime semi soon, right? Usually one or two dates come out in November or December I think.
  2. How did we know A.06 was played at Tucson 03 again?
  3. Attention Rock Band fans and remixers... there is a special treat for you this week in Rock Band's DLC pack! The three tracks being added this week are: Audioslave - Like a Stone Godsmack - Awake Linkin Park - Lying From You The songs will be on the PS4 and Xbox Live on Tuesday (11/10) for $1.99 each. The obvious draw for the Rock Band tracks is the fact that multitracks will be circulating, which is pretty exciting since this is an older track in Linkin Park's catalogue.
  4. That was joking in a way, but essentially true to an extent. He didn't have much of a role in the initial THP process. Brad and Mike did most of it apparently and brought the rest of the band in. I am actually ok with that because I like The Hunting Party a lot (minus UIG and Summoning). The rest of the CD, I thought LP did a good job and it was a hell of an upgrade from Living Things. I wish they had played more of it live, but anyway I listen to THP a lot so that writing style worked well for them. Chester definitely wants to write more. The band was fully involved in the MTM process and that album ended up being 10/10 fantastic, even the b-sides. What an impressive album for the band to "come back" with and release as their third CD. So if they all are together this time from the start (which is exactly what is happening) then I think we'll get a good end product again. Perhaps I was a bit harsh in my wording. I meant it in this way - LP forced him to quit in the sense of, they entered the studio after the European Tour ASAP. These were obviously the plans WAY back in January/February because this is one reason why LP didn't reschedule their canceled tour. They had the whole year planned out and wanted to make an album starting in September. STP and Chester figured this out in the summer and likely agreed the timing couldn't work out. I don't think Chester quit SOLELY because of his family but moreso a combination of two things: 1. There is no time for STP to record an album, and with LP doing an album right now, they have to postpone any STP touring (see: canceled 2014 STP shows). 2. He wanted more downtime to be with his family, he's always on the road at least according to him.
  5. New Divide was a trainwreck, wow. Chester sounds pretty bad at this show.
  6. Because we can still enjoy Chester with other bands. A huge draw for many fans of LP is Chester, hell a lot of people that hate LP love him. He's a great singer and one of the best of our generation. What STP had was a pretty special thing. Really great vibes and concerts. Chester was obviously happy with the change of pace and being able to play clubs again. He said the Birmingham show was one of his favorite concerts of all time. It's his favorite music and favorite band, of course he loved it. That's no knock on LP either, he obviously cares deeply for LP which is why he made the decision. It's just sad that someone has to quit their favorite band just because LP couldn't hold on a few months to record a new album. It's almost never that something this interesting in music happens - a singer from a huge band that loves the smaller band joins the smaller band because he's such a fan of it. It was cool seeing him rock out so much with STP. When it all comes down to it, I probably even prefer him singing in a true rock band over LP's "every genre" style. He's a natural rock star, I'd much rather see him sing Down or something than Castle of Dance, etc.
  7. Horrible. They've known about this for months and just played the tour acting like things were perfectly fine. This is all so crazy. They wanted the album out in September but gave zero updates in September on the album. Then they told fans they had no info on new music. Damn. Chester even played with them two weeks ago. I wish they had told us, I would have seen more shows.
  8. I am very glad that they dropped these songs. This has been a long time coming. Maybe it won't stay like that but wow, Numb, WID and WFTE are 3 of the top songs that need to go from the live setlist. They're at EVERY show. LP needs to understand they don't have to use singles as a crutch for the live show. They have so many - just play some, and play whatever else you want, and enjoy the show.
  9. Ok after talking with LESTAT in private, his source checks out. Otherwise I'd say Scott is bullshitting or these are just false rumors, especially coming from Weiland (who is 100% still on massive drugs). Unfortunately, as much as I don't want to believe this, it appears to be true. I'm quite disappointed as I was enjoying Chester more in STP than in LP the past two years. I saw LP about 20~ times on this touring cycle and was pretty let down with their consistent setlists, lack of energy and lack of talking to the crowd, and thoroughly enjoyed STP more. The two best LP shows on the touring cycle that I saw were Orlando and Nashville. Chester was sounding BETTER than he had since at least 2008-2009, and LP had so much more energy up there than Carnivores for some reason. Badass shows. It's no secret that Chester was enjoying being on stage with STP a little more recently, even though he likes LP a lot. That's not a slap in LP's face or anything, it's just that STP was his favorite band growing up and you can tell how happy he is on stage with STP, whereas he's on the micstand all show with LP and rarely talks to the crowd. He's actively engaging the crowd at STP. What a truly disappointing day.
  10. The setlist is on the show page here. Setlist.fm is not a reliable source since anyone can edit it. Joe never said anything about a surprise. His tech tweeted that he had one and that surprise was the new Papercut intro.
  11. Ah yes, this is a fact. I remember this because everyone was like "oh hell yeah, we can get a full video of the BoW set" - this was before we had any of the full BoW recordings circulated. In fact I probably posted about it on some forum, maybe LPF. Makes perfect sense because they announced those Etnies Club Tattoo shoes at about the same time which ended up being really cheap. But it got canceled. The show didn't happen for some reason, I'm not sure why. I totally forgot about this but great find, I can confirm what you posted. I don't know what happened with the Mesa show but I am pretty sure Chester did NOT appear. Jasparina was on top of literally everything at that time with LPTimes. She never posted pictures or a review or anything. Members on LPF and LPA both said they were going, including Hyper on LPF (who had like 3,000 posts and was very active). We would have gotten some information. Setlist, review, something. No Chester there.
  12. Martin also has an album coming out next year. Maybe it's a collaboration for that.
  13. Warren (Joe's DJ tech): "Just finished a special surprise for the Blizzcon show this weekend."
  14. I hate to bump a really old thread. LESTAT, if BoW didn't have a manager then someone in the band must have handled things. There surely is an archive somewhere that a band member has of the shows. Is it possible for you to try to contact the band members to get some more information for us on dates?
  15. Pretty energetic version I saw the other day.
  16. It wouldn't surprise me if they went all dance/EDM/electronic for the next album. Maybe with some pop influence.
  17. Linkin Park takes the stage for their second show out of three in November 2015 when they headline Anaheim, CA's BlizzCon on November 7th. This is the band's first time at BlizzCon and the show comes after a week break since they headlined Monster Mash in Arizona. Previous BlizzCon headliners include Metallica and Blink 182. Hailing from California, Linkin Park has played all over the state. Anaheim is just south of Los Angeles and has only hosted the band twice before - both at the same venue. Anaheim's Arrowhead Pond (now the Honda Center) hosted the Family Values Tour in 2001, which there is a great recording of. Staind's Aaron Lewis comes out on One Step Closer as Linkin Park plays a great 45 minute setlist, complete with Step Up and Pushing Me Away. The next show in Anaheim is probably one of the most famously known shows across the fanbase that LP has ever played - Music For Relief 2005. Linkin Park, Jay-Z, Chali 2na on Frgt/10's only live performance ever, and an incredibly high-energy, epic 50 minute set...easily one of the coolest shows we've ever seen by the band. It took us many years to track down the recording, but we finally posted it for Christmas 2012. If you haven't seen this show, definitely take an hour to rock out to it. This will be show number three in Anaheim for Linkin Park. They play a LOT of shows in California, but this is actually the first show there since KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas 2014. This is the LATEST in any calendar year in the band's existence for them to play California (of which they toured). Linkin Park is nearing their 100th concert in California in the history of the band. They have about 93 or so shows in the state (not counting rehearsals or awards shows) and will hit 100 next touring cycle. We'll do an in-depth post about the exact number and which show will truly be the 100th when they announce tour dates in 2016. What's important is that they aren't at 100 yet, but they will be there soon. If we counted correctly, this is California show number 94. The Monster Mash show was the last true headlining show of the world tour for The Hunting Party. Both the BlizzCon show and the Relief Live! show are pretty exclusive events. When Linkin Park was announced for BlizzCon, tickets ($199) were already sold out. We're unsure if any Linkin Park fans are even able to get into this show, unless they find someone reselling a BlizzCon ticket. Relief Live! is a $250 event, which is also sold out. At the Monster Mash show (celebrated by LP dressing up in full Halloween attire), the band intended on performing their full headlining setlist. However, they dropped three songs at the last minute as they ended up only having a 90 minute set time. These songs were LOATR/SOTD/Iridescent, Breaking The Habit, and Darker Than Blood. This is actually the first time on the world tour for The Hunting Party that LOATR/SOTD/Iridescent had been dropped from the setlist and comes as a surprise since the 90 minute setlist previously dropped Points Of Authority and Final Masquerade, both of which were played at Monster Mash. For BlizzCon, they will also get around 90 minutes. We are unsure if they'll try to perform that full setlist or if they'll end up cutting songs again. Maybe something else will even happen. Joe's DJ tech, Warren, tweeted out, "Just finished a special surprise for the Blizzcon show this weekend." Good news! The show is being streamed online, so this will be the first Linkin Park webcast since Beijing, China in July. Sadly, the entire European Tour went by without a single webcast, even though Pukkelpop could have probably webcasted Linkin Park if they had set it up earlier with the band. Anyway, the BlizzCon Virtual Ticket is an astounding $39.99 meaning that this is a paid webcast. It's mainly meant for those who want to watch the entire BlizzCon event instead of just Linkin Park, so we understand if you think it's a lot. Don't worry as there will probably be recordings on YouTube, torrents, etc after the show. For those of you who want to tune in, here's the information... Livestream Info The date of November 7th is also important in the world of Linkin Park because TWO LPU Summits have been held on this date before. LPU Summit #7 was held in Cape Town, South Africa in 2012 and LPU Summit #12 was held in Amsterdam, Netherlands last year. After this show, Linkin Park finishes their year off with an intimate Relief Live! performance in Los Angeles on November 14th. That should be the last performance of 2015, which comes after a canceled North American Tour, a few North American Summer Shows, short tours in China and Europe, and these few November shows. For the full 2015 tour schedule, click here.
  18. I would definitely add it to the list and say "Planned to be released by the band but never officially released in the end." Joe even comments on the winner. "Great remix by The Dual Personality. A progressive, club friendly track, that I will definitely spin. Very moody and smooth, kinda like a good whisky." - Joe Hahn, Linkin Park It's a great remix.
  19. I think I still prefer a few different setlists than one totally different, well-rehearsed show with a lot of changes from the previous touring cycle. That's what we got this time. Blackout into Papercut, Robot Boy, etc. Tons of changes. All those shortened songs, and that awful encore medley nonsense. When they went to change setlists, the show was so rehearsed that they only could change a few things. And don't get me wrong, I loved DOYS/LFY (where the hell did it go, it was great) and the full versions of With You and Somewhere I Belong. Great jams. My point is, I think I'd rather have more studio versions of songs and an easier to change setlist than what they play now. Beijing show was 100 minutes. Perfect length for a show. Just make a second setlist with DOYS/LFY, SIB, APFMH, With You, GATS, maybe another THP song or two, and ONE fan request like RME or P5hng. Even Rob in Europe said he knows it's not fun to follow the tours anymore for the hardcore fans. At the end of the day, I'll always go see LP but it was definitely a lot more fun when they changed sets in 2007-2008 and 2012 versus now.
  20. So Mike says there will be ITEMS for XVLP, not just shirts. The Bathing Ape shirt is apparently way more expensive than the rest. We'll see. I agree the design is very simplistic for it, especially compared to the excellent Bathing Ape 2013 shirts they did.
  21. $115! Damn! Too expensive. I thought $45-$50 at most. No wonder they only made 150 of them. Not a fan of the Clot or Bathing Ape ones, but I'm sure there will be one I like.
  22. http://www.complex.com/style/2015/11/bape-linkin-park-tee?utm_campaign=styletw&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social
  23. Looks like the whole show here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaFr44LHmDu6r-1vARsKJ0w
  24. Not really, if you think about it. Look how many unreleased songs there are. http://lplive.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=9351&page=1 http://lplive.net/wiki/db/lists/unreleased-songs-list No one searches for them every month, more like once a year or even once every two years.
  25. Mike had a really great flow in his verses back then. He still jams, like on All For Nothing and Wastelands, but I truly enjoy hearing the rapping style he had from about 1997-2001. It seems a bit faster and is just really raw. He's a great rapper. Like I've said before, a lot of the modern LP lyrics (not so much on The Hunting Party as Living Things) seemed dumbed-down. These lyrics are cool. It's a neat collaboration song and is pretty atmospheric. Cool that it was released 14~ years later. I'll take it over an LPU instrumental all day, ha.
