  1. Thanks Garo!
  2. We just wanted LPLive.com because a lot of people mistakenly go to LPLive.com instead of .net anyway. Now it redirects, so we have both.
  3. First one is already out for next summer.... http://www.byzegut.fr/ http://www.byzegut.fr/2015/10/hellfest-2016-linkin-park_6.html?m=1 https://www.facebook.com/LinkinPark.fr/posts/10153703305541804 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hellfest_(French_music_festival)

    LPLive.com

Just a friendly heads up...thanks to Dmitry, we now have finally obtained LPLive.com for our website all these years later! This has been something we've aimed for for quite some time and the opportunity did not arise until this month. You can now use LPLive.com OR LPLive.net to access the website.
  5. Yes, they sold that shirt on the North American Tour in 2011 for ATS.
  6. Thanks LESTAT, you're a big help I'd never be able to find all of this stuff.
  7. Why is it that LP hasn't confirmed the show? It isn't on the events page on the LP website and hasn't been posted about on LP social media.
  8. It's still on my directv box here...not sure the best way to get it I guess.
  9. I agree. With that said, just because you still support them doesn't mean you have to love everything they do. I've loved a lot of the sound changes, for example MTM and ATS are both fantastic albums. MTM even has 5~ other great songs from the same sessions. I'm not a fan of Living Things, but love THP, and really dislike the Steve Aoki stuff. I commend the band for being able to make SO much stuff that is so different and still like it all.
  10. Phoenix gave so much specific info on how exactly LP would do a club tour these days as a band (with LP being huge), it makes me think the HT club tour got pretty far in the planning stages before it got axed for Download 2014. Stuff like...earmarking tickets for the LPU and it's hard to do that with promoters now because they don't understand fanclubs/hardcore fans. Said the band would try to make it so only the fans who were dying to be there can be there and not any casual "radio" fans. Not an exclusively LPU show, but tickets for LPU to guarantee they are there and the other tickets are hard to get but not resellable. I guess at the end of the day the payout from Download was so big that it was smarter as a band to do that instead of a small tour.
  11. They also obviously have evolved so much as a band that they like working with Steve Aoki more than doing HT songs. The HT songs took a month or more to rehearse for the show and they didn't keep any of the rarer ones around at all. Obviously if we were in the band we'd probably feel the same...we didn't have to play those songs endlessly on stage for all those years day in and day out. Aoki is an innovative artist to them and they even play(ed) ALTNC and DTB live.
  12. I'm shocked Phoenix didn't mention this at all yesterday in the LPU chat. We've seen the band do some "weekend only" stuff this year, especially with the North American shows this summer. The Tempe show is on a weekend, then the Hybrid Theory 15th anniversary is the weekend before that (10/24). Two weeks after Tempe is this show. They really didn't know the HT anniversary was a week before Tempe? They have a huge opportunity to play a really cool LA show for it, minimal work, and they don't want to do it? I think this LA show will be streamed...it's at an actual studio to a very small crowd and probably has all the equipment in-house to do a webcast.
  13. Our friends at MikeShinodaClan are on top of it...and we have a new live date! "To celebrate Music For Relief’s ten years of philanthropy a special performance and ceremony an event has been announced – Relief Live! is taking place on November 14, 2015 at LA River Studios in Los Angeles, CA. Relief Live! will see Linkin Park perform and also Steve Aoki is being honoured for his humanitarian efforts, he matched donations made by fans in wake of 2013’s Typhoon Haiyan, as well as his commitment to neuroscience research and animal rights. Tickets are $250 and can be brought on MFR – Relief Live!" Who is going?
  14. In celebration of One Step Closer turning 15 years old, LPLive staff member Nikita (Sucre06) has created a compilation of live performances of the song over the years. Most of these include guests, as One Step Closer has the most guests of any live song by Linkin Park. OSC has been performed regularly every year in the band's live career, so check out these performances in the download below! Tracklisting: 01. Rock am Ring 2007 (Gunshot Intro #1) 02. Let us know what your favorite song from the compilation is!
  15. I think Mark Fiore's favorite Linkin Park song is Drawbar.
  16. The band has uploaded a new LPTV to their YouTube page...covering the first part of the recent European Tour. Thoughts?
  17. I think the writing session was Mike only. The rest of the band probably doesn't have much of a clue about it. That's true. It'd be nice to have one in the USA, but they won't do it I guess. I'm very surprised Phoenix didn't know about the anniversary - wow. Yes. The other embarrassing moment was busting the crotch out of his new pants on Ozzfest, and taping it up.
  18. Recap: Linkin Park is already in the studio recording their next album, recording new music right now. Nothing is planned for the 15th anniversary of Hybrid Theory. Phoenix is surprised fans "remembered" the anniversary. The band's studio process tends to be longer than fans might expect, but there are good ideas already for new songs. Phoenix (not with LP when they first heard OSC on the radio) remembers hearing OSC on @kroq in LA. "Felt like we'd done something cool." One of Phoenix's most awkward moments live...rolling his ankle (Live in Texas DVD) and thinking he broke it on stage. Very painful. Phoenix had a blast on the most recent European Tour. Rome was a highlight. There are no plans (yet) for collaborations on the next Linkin Park album, but they enjoy them and they might happen again. Phoenix likes to play golf when he's not on the road. He is the best at classical violin and is the most comfortable with that instrument. Then he moved to cello and guitar. He plays drums and piano poorly. Phoenix wants to play The Little Things Give You Away again live. He still really loves the song. Phoenix was at the Copenhagen and Berlin Fort Minor shows and had a good time at both. Linkin Park will be releasing LPTV episodes about the recording of their next album. Phoenix is not sure what will be included on the next LP Underground CD. If Linkin Park ever did another small club tour, they would make a certain amount of tickets available for the LPU again, like 2003. "We would make sure the hardcore fans get tickets, the fans who really want to be there would be able to see the shows. LPU included." There is no distinct sound yet for the new album, the demo ideas are all across the board so far with everyone contributing ideas. Unfortunately he does not know when Linkin Park will be able to visit India to perform a show.
  19. Now they are doing a mystery shirt today.
  20. Happy 15th anniversary to the first single from Linkin Park, One Step Closer! Here's some background information on one of the biggest songs from LP. The band released One Step Closer on September 28, 2000 as the lead single from Hybrid Theory (due out October 24, 2000). The song was immediately was picked up by rock radio, getting massive airplay and getting Linkin Park nationwide (and then worldwide) recognition. It has gone on to become one of Linkin Park's largest songs ever. Just after Linkin Park went to Europe for the first time in early January 2001, the band released the single there on January 15, 2001 with their first two true b-sides, "My December" and Mike's remix of "High Voltage" (commonly referred to as the Reprise Version). In a ShoutWeb interview in October 2000, Mike said, "Yes, "Plaster" was the working title. "One Step Closer" was maybe a little bit more descriptive. I actually wrote that and a bunch of people went "uh... I don't know". Even I went "ugh" and I thought for a minute that it wasn't a good idea to write that song and it sounded kind of bad but then we just went full speed ahead and said screw it. So far it's become one of the more memorable parts of the album. We're happy that people have something like that to hold on to as far as remembering. The song is generally about being at the end of your rope. It's very descriptive and I think that's why people gravitate towards it. It's a very self-descriptive song and it's easy to understand and probably very easy to relate to." Chester told Rolling Stone in April 2002, "I would never have thought One Step Closer would have been as big as it was. I didn’t even want that on the album! I thought it was weak in comparison to Crawling, In the End, Pushing Me Away, and Points of Authority. Those were the songs that I thought had set the standard for the [first] album, and viewed One Step Closer as underneath that bar." Chester later said that the chorus lyrics came from the pressure of working with Don Gilmore, the producer for Hybrid Theory and Meteora. He forced Linkin Park to rewrite the lyrics to some songs more than 30 times, trying to get the band to perfect their craft. "Everything you say to me, takes me one step closer to the edge, and I'm about to break." Mike came up with the idea for the "shut up" bridge at his apartment for Chester to scream, and the lyrics ended up sticking. Mike said, "I remember thinking that was a great calling-card song. It said, 'Hello, we are going to crush you.'" The demo for One Step Closer, titled Plaster, was released on February 11, 2008 by LPLive, LPAssociation, and a few other Linkin Park fansites. Mike at the time said, to his knowledge, it was the only known demo of the song, but LPAssociation released an even earlier version of Plaster on September 14, 2012. Listen to the FIRST released demo of Plaster HERE and the SECOND released demo of Plaster HERE. Finally, a version on the May 2000 "studio finals" version of the album can be heard at 10:08 HERE. The song has been played at virtually every known Linkin Park show, with two exceptions...the band dropped it for two shows in a row in Europe in 2011 - Arras and St. Gallen. It closed every show from 2000 to 2005 (Live 8 2005 excluded), and finally was moved in the set in 2006. Since 2007, it has jumped all around the setlist...most recently it is about the fourth or fifth song on the world tour for The Hunting Party. Regardless, it is one of the most played songs in Linkin Park's live history. It has gone through quite a lot of changes live, from a Reanimated bridge (sometimes with Jonathan Davis from Korn...check the LP Underground 4 CD for that one) to extended intros and outros to a long list of guests on the song. There have been many memorable performances of the song over the years, of course, but one that REALLY sticks out to us is the band's show at Rock am Ring in 2007 where the crowd completely loses their minds.... Originally, OSC was going to have a live video released from the show at The Roxy in September 2000, but the idea was scrapped even after the video was filmed. Joe eventually came up with a concept for the band's first music video. In the video, you can see Scott Koziol, a bassist that was with the band for a short period of time while Phoenix was still touring with The Snax. Here's the ORIGINAL idea for the One Step Closer music video. Of course, the editing would have been much different once it was finalized. And here's the band's first music video ever - what they decided to go with for OSC in the end (ha). It's a performance video, which sees Linkin Park performing in a misty room with some crazy shenanigans going on between the band and these monk-looking creatures. One Step Closer was later remixed on Reanimation, released in 2002. The Humble Bros handled the remixing of the song, and Jonathan Davis from Korn lent his vocals to the legendary bridge of the song. OSC later was remixed with Points Of Authority and Jay-Z's 99 Problems for inclusion on 2004's Collision Course as Points Of Authority/99 Problems/One Step Closer and was performed several times live. We can write for pages on the song, but the impact of One Step Closer is obvious. The one-two-three punch of One Step Closer, Crawling, and In The End as singles from Hybrid Theory launched Linkin Park's career and sent them on to become one of the biggest bands of our lifetime. So happy 15th birthday, One Step Closer!
  21. I think in the interview about the Fort Minor show in London. I read it too in one of those interviews near the end of the LP tour.
  22. OSC turns 15 tomorrow. And a random LPU chat? Maybe they announce the HT show.
  23. I didn't pay much attention to this thread and agree with Astat, but I got confirmation today (in an unrelated situation) that Linkin Park is already in the studio recording the next album. I don't think Chester was there, since he was with STP, but the rest of the band has already started recording, almost immediately after Europe.
  24. Stone Temple Pilots just completed their most recent tour of the United States, a ten show journey from the southeast U.S. up the middle of the country and the east coast. The tour started with two radio festivals in North Carolina and continued with five headlining shows and three more random festival appearances. Sadly, the last show ended up being canceled, but we'll get to that shortly. Since Chester joined STP in May 2013 and juggled the band full time with Linkin Park, this was STP's fifth tour of the United States with him. They have played just two shows internationally, when they visited Japan in fall 2013. An international tour in February and March 2014 was canceled when Chester was forced to finish recording Linkin Park's new album (The Hunting Party). The year started with a lot of promise for the band. They headlined sixteen shows across the United States in April and May, playing a few songs for the first time with Chester. The tour was announced directly after Chester broke his ankle in Indianapolis with Linkin Park, ending their tour on the spot with no makeup, so fans were understandably a bit angered when the STP tour announcement came out. Regardless, that tour got Chester back into shape for Linkin Park's remaining shows across North America, China, and Europe to finished the touring cycle for The Hunting Party. On that April tour, a few fans/friends heard snippets of new songs from STP in various forms, mostly just Dean playing some clips from his phone. STP participated in the press for the tour, with Eric saying an album was likely due out in October. However, on this recent return to STP, there have been zero interviews given by the band and there has been no mention of a new song, new album, or more tour dates. The setlist remained generally the same as it did in April, with a few songs changing places and Adhesive replacing Hollywood Bitch. It was surprising to see the band not perform a new song, but they also are the same band that chose to play only two songs from the High Rise EP (Out Of Time and Black Heart) live. Finally, the last show in Janesville, WI was canceled ten minutes before the band took to the stage. A very vague statement, released by STP at their set time, read, "Due to illness, Stone Temple Pilots regretfully are forced to cancel their performance tonight at WJJO's Sonic Boom." We do not know which band member is sick and no one has responded to questions about the situation. Sadly, the tour ended on a sour note with the canceled show and a lack of information about who is sick...hopefully not Chester. A few questionable moments happened mid-tour, when Chester almost fell off the stage in Cleveland and when he tripped and fell into Eric's drumset the next show in Detroit, injuring his hand. He's ok and completed the tour, thankfully. This leaves the fans questioning the next move from Stone Temple Pilots. Only one show is left for the remainder of 2015 (for now) and with no news of any new music....what will happen for the future of the band? Mike has said Fort Minor will not tour or release an album, and Linkin Park is already in the studio for the new album. Will STP go on another break? Will LP release an album before STP manages to get one full-length record out with Chester? LP appears to be the full-time focus for Chester. There are a few great recordings from the tour, which you can download here, in our thread about the shows. Don't get us wrong, the band nailed the shows...these recordings are A+ and feature STP in prime form, especially after having been off the road for months. The tour page for Stone Temple Pilots can be found here.
