Not a huge fan of the Clot one. The logo looks like CLPT, with the LP 2007 logo in the middle (long after Hybrid Theory).

2015.11.01 - Tempe, AZ - Monster Mash
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Previous Show Discussion
Glad they dropped different stuff for once. POA is a monster and the first part of the setlist flows really well. Looks like a fun show. Serious question: Are we seeing the end of the lifeline for A Line In The Sand? Maybe just 1 more performance for the song? It's such a monster live that I hope the band keeps it in 2016. To me, it's finally a song that can replace Bleed It Out as the show closer. -
Unreleased Demo by The Visionaries & Linkin Park
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Newswire
If I had a choice of buying an unreleased demo for $1 or not having it at all, I'd pay the $1. FFS. I paid the $1 and got it in FLAC. -
In a complete surprise, The Visionaries have uploaded their demo with Linkin Park online. The song was actually posted back in April, and has gone unnoticed until now...crazy! This collaboration dates back to at least 2001-2002. In our Unreleased Songs List, we have a message between The Visionaries and a Linkin Park fan from 2006 that reads, "Hey, LMNO did a song with Mike Shinoda back in the day, maybe 6 years ago. Then the Visionaries recorded a song with Joe Hahn and Mike Shinoda, and I believe some of the rest of the group was supposed to add stuff to the song...anyhow, it was before the "ReAnimation" album, and we all decided not to put the song out....so, I guess it's just one of those, never heard, never put out things. We've only heard a rough version of the song, and never heard anything after that. Kool, give thanks." This is one of the oldest (previously unreleased) demos that we know exists as the song is at least fourteen years old. We will try to get a year on when the song was made. Listen to the demo HERE, and you can buy it for $1, even in FLAC. This is pretty cool! Thoughts? Big thanks to LPL member hybrider for the heads up! EDIT: Lyrics from LPA for Mike's two verses: V1: "Call up a relative and tell 'em who the hell it is You think not / guess again / you bet it is Put a kink in the backbone of predators They're not competitive / actin' like they're on sedatives With or without large amounts of melanin Let it begin until the rigor mortis settles in Rainin' on rust on bulletproof metal men It's deep water and there's no backpedallin'" V2: "Lights out / Los Angeles darkness Trash bag track homes and park bench apartments Lit with a center-city harshness Attract the colour weapons of paint marker artists And this is the soundtrack to the scene LP, Visionaries, collaborative team Takin' it to a level you never dreamed of Open your eyes to a sight that's seldom-seen" EDIT 2: An interview from September 2001 has been found from Joe (by OnStage) leading up to Linkin Park's European Tour that month: "Chester just did a song with Cyclefly and also with DJ Lethal, and Mike and I just finished a track with the Visionaries too."

I wouldn't worry about live tweeting it. We'll get the set afterward. Same thing. -

Reminder that since Daylight Savings Time has ended and Arizona doesn't observe it, LP goes on at 8:25pm MST, which is 10:25pm EST. So weird that yesterday, it was 3 hours behind EST and today it's 2 hours behind it. DST has to go. -

Ah you're right about WTCFM. I thought IBG had a portion of its remix in the instrumental for the medley? -

Is it possible at all that those could be for Mike's solo medley? WTCFM and IBG? -

Good find. https://instagram.com/p/9epHf1DmZM/?taken-by=m_shinoda The picture Mike put on Instagram has both POA and Rebellion in the setlist (for Tempe/BlizzCon). Unless they drop something, that's the full headlining setlist. I think they'll have to get something out of the set because they literally have a 10:00pm curfew in TEmpe. Maybe they are rehearsing both and doing POA at one and Rebellion at the other. -

Linkin Park's first show in the month of November takes place on Sunday, November 1st, when they close out Monster Mash in Tempe, Arizona. This is the band's first time on stage since ending their European Tour for The Hunting Party in early September. Tempe itself (RIGHT next to Phoenix) has actually never hosted a Linkin Park show before so it's their first time there....under the LP name. The last known show by Hybrid Theory, before the name change to Linkin Park, was in Tempe on May 27, 2000. They also played Tempe in 1999. Just after the 2000 show, they changed their name to Linkin Park and started touring for the debut album. The first show in Arizona under the name Linkin Park was the popular Mason Jar 2000 show... LP played five more shows in Arizona in 2000 after the name change, a significant amount for any state outside of California for them. Three shows in 2001, one in 2002, two in 2003, one in 2004, one in 2007, one in 2008, one in 2011, and three in 2014 have been held in Arizona. This is their 19th show in Arizona under the name Linkin Park. Hybrid Theory played two known shows in Arizona, but there are likely a few more unknown HT performances there. The last show in Arizona was the intimate show in Scottsdale 2014 for Stars of the Season, but they headlined an arena in Phoenix on Carnivores Tour about a month prior. Ironically, Arizona hosted the FIRST show on the world tour for The Hunting Party, and arguably the largest show page we've ever had on LPLive - Tucson 2014. At this show, LP debuted Guilty All The Same, Wastelands, Until It's Gone, and the brand new, massive setlist for the touring cycle. Four Arizona shows on the world tour for The Hunting Party (3 in 2014, one in 2015) is the most for Linkin Park in that state since they toured for Hybrid Theory (2000-2002). Both Scottsdale and Tempe (as well as Mesa, for that 2001) show are technically all suburbs of Phoenix, so literally every Linkin Park show in Arizona has been right there either in or just outside of Phoenix except for Tucson 2000 and Tucson 2014. Linkin Park has been rehearsing for this show, of course, but we aren't expecting any changes to the show. The festival recently changed the structure of the entire fest, cutting day one (of three days), removing a band and adding another, and combining two stages into one. The current schedule says LP plays from 8:25pm MST to 9:55pm, a set time of 90 minutes. Opening will be Rob Zombie, Deftones, Puscifer (replacing Halestorm), and Ghost. The last time that the 90 minute setlist was played was in June for Milwaukee's Summerfest, and the only real difference between the 90 min set and the headlining set is the omission of Points Of Authority, Final Masquerade, and an encore break. Honestly, they probably are going to stick with the same 90 minute show we saw this summer since these shows are the very end of the touring cycle for The Hunting Party. If something changes, we will be genuinely surprised. On November 14th for Relief live!, they might have to perform A Light That Never Comes with Steve Aoki, so there's always a chance that they're already working on that. An interesting fact about ALTNC is that it was performed in full ONE time ever - Las Vegas 2014. The band has three total shows announced for November, which likely are the last shows for the year. After Monster Mash, they headline BlizzCon on November 7th and Relief Live! on November 14th. For the 2015 tour schedule, setlists, and more, click here.

This is a strange way of celebrating an album, but it goes along with the band wanting to collaborate with more companies, etc for products. A Bathing Ape is fantastic and I have the shirt from Asia 2013. I'm sure their product will be quality this time. I don't know if I'll buy any of this, but you never know. We'll have to see what it looks like.

The sets are usually about 100 minutes. Well, 100 minute slot and 97 mins is what the shows come to. It's really just a show without an encore break and without Points Of Authority and Final Masquerade.

Linkin Park's final festival show of the year is this weekend on Sunday, November 1st at Tempe, Arizona's Monster Mash. A lot of changes have happened to the festival for this weekend, so we wanted to give you guys an update in case you are going... Per the Monster Mash website: - Friday, October 30th is CANCELED completely. The lineup for Friday was Santana, John Fogerty, and Tedeschi Trucks Band. - On Sunday, November 1st, Halestorm has CANCELED. Replacing Halestorm will be Puscifer. - Originally, the festival had TWO stages. They are now down to ONE stage. Linkin Park was initially headlining the East Stage with Deftones and Ghost opening. Now, the lineup for Sunday will be Linkin Park, Rob Zombie, Deftones, Puscifer, and Ghost. - Linkin Park's set time is now 90 minutes. Originally, the festival website reflected Linkin Park as playing a full headlining setlist. Due to the changes in the lineup, stages, and festival organization, the band has been bumped down to a 90 minute setlist. "SCHEDULE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE" takes on a new meaning for this festival. The 90 minute setlist for this summer was last played at Summerfest in Milwaukee, WI in June. That setlist can be viewed here, and doesn't include Points Of Authority or Final Masquerade. If the band changes something, we will be surprised, but it is possible for sure.

Sure. I almost never use setlist.fm for a source since it's incorrect a LOT for LP/STP. But in this case, it's right. https://twitter.com/livestp/status/658463785208909824

Maybe it's because for the 10th anniversary, ATS was coming out and they had a huge European Tour planned and all. So no time for a celebration. And for the 15th anniversary, the world tour for THP had already ended and the band was free for months. So that's a good time to celebrate it with a show.
-
There's been no proper California show since 2014, you could argue The Wiltern in Oct 2014 was one, but definitely Irvine, LA, Chula Vista, Wheatland, and Concord. I guess that's why they aren't doing a normal Cali/LA show this year. I thought they'd do a club show around this time. Even if they didn't want to do a show for HT on 10/24, I'm surprised they aren't doing just some "oh come join us in LA for a celebration show in November for 15 years of the LPU" or something. 2014 had 12 Cali shows, 11 were for THP, and then 2 this year, so 13 for one album is a lot of shows in one state.
-
I guess so. An option for $15-20 for just LP would have been nice. Speaking of streaming, it'd be cool if LP streamed their Relief Live show online via VyRT.
-
$40 is really expensive to stream something.

That's great information. It's pretty much unanimously agreed upon that No Roads Left, What We Don't Know, Across The Line, and Blackbirds were 4 of the 5 (for the 17). I remember seeing Ammosick in the MTM DVD. However, have there been any other songs released that were in the MTM sessions? Wasn't Debris from the MTM sessions too, and later brought back up during the ATS sessions? My guesses were that it could have even been Homecoming, which seemed much more complete than a lot of the other demos. That instrumental is really good and undoubtedly had vocals at some point. I don't know if we'll ever get a 100% confirmation on this, but it'd be interesting to give Mike some track titles/info and see if he can remember. Lastly, speaking of writing a new song, I assumed White Noise was written for THP since it was in the promo video for the album. I'm actually surprised it didn't make it as it fits the album pretty well and would be much better than UIG on there. Maybe something changed when UIG got axed from Transformers 4.

I actually didn't see that was Phoenix. Fixed.

In late July, we reported that Linkin Park was returning to the Red Bull Studios in Los Angeles this fall to work on a song with another contest winner. Zayed Hassan was the lucky winner and the sessions took place this past Wednesday (October 7) between he and the band. It appears the only member from the band missing was Joe. The way the sessions typically go is that the winner brings in a song that they wrote themselves and Linkin Park goes over it, tweaks it, and sometimes records parts for it themselves. In this one, Mike says, "Rob Bourdon even did a little cameo on it (playing water bottles with a pen, HA!)." Zayed posted a picture from the session on his Instagram page: Another picture from Red Bull Studios can be found here. Ethan Mates, the studio engineer that works with Linkin Park, was also present, meaning the track was likely mixed and mastered on the spot for future release. We guess that it will be on the upcoming LP Underground album as the LPU 13 session tracks were, but that's pure speculation on our part. There is one article about the experience, found here (the translation is pretty rough) detailing the experience. And OpenLabs interviewed Zayed too, here. Congratulations to Zayed and we are excited to hear your song in the future!
