  1. They are included as bonus tracks at the end. You haven't seen them? It lists it on the show page, too. http://lplive.net/shows/db/2008/20080629 Wake 2.0 is on the DVD, just not the CD. Just rip the DVD audio. The DSP has it all too.
  2. They changed the name from "From Bach to Rock" to "From Classic to Rock".
  3. Yup. Should be cool.
  4. Actually pretty cool. Didn't care for the Collision Course one...the Hybrid Theory one was good but I like that they're doing a live show. And no one can complain about FM...great album. I'll pick up both.
  5. Whenever he gets it and is able to transfer it in a studio. Probably in March.
  6. Maybe for the new album "+" release, like Madrid and Berlin were. Well, Monterrey as well. I think it was at least mentioned somewhere that it was possibly being released, Pooch even said he was surprised they didn't "end up releasing it."
  7. I know the person who won it, it's going to be released.
  8. Probably not. They didn't release Berlin 2014 at all for some reason. I bet they aren't releasing FM.
  9. Which digital books? Albums? DSPs? What?
  10. $250 tix, $500 tix...both of those are GA. $500 is first few rows of seats. The VIP packages are a few thousand a piece. $3,500 for 2 people if you want the M&G.
  11. Sean didn't work for them on THP. He left after the Living Things tour. Because I will be in the same town as him for a concert and I wanted to ask him about some of his stuff he is selling. Maybe some stuff to help us out on LPLive, if possible.
  12. I agree that it's Lupe's best album. I have the leaked demos for it too, before it officially came out. He got really mad that it leaked. Check this out: https://www.reddit.com/r/hiphopheads/comments/263b3x/lupe_fiascos_leaked_food_and_liquor_the_classic/ I don't know if Mike reused it in Carry Me Away, but that's an awesome song too. The music video was cool, the idea was good, but it wasn't executed well. It needs more scenes and variety, and the proposed ending would have been good.
  13. He did make the right choice, if that was what he wanted to do. Mike (Shinoda) really implied that Elizondo would have been "the guy" for LP...THE bassist......maybe when he dropped out and they couldn't find someone they brought Phoenix back and the story has just been "Phoenix left temporarily, etc"? Who knows.
  14. At this year's NAMM show (National Association of Music Merchants), Mike sat down with top mixing engineer Dave Pensado and producer Herb Trawick in their weekly show, Pensado's Place. A full video of the episode can be seen below. Mike discusses a wide variety of topics, including the new approach to Linkin Park's upcoming studio album. At 47:50 in the video, you'll see Dave and Herb say that coming up on Pensado's Place will be Mike Elizondo. Mike responded with, "Make sure you ask Mike Elizondo.... Mike Elizondo at one point for a very short period of time was the bass player for Linkin Park. Ask him about that story. Phoenix left us for a short time and Elizondo at that time was our top candidate for bass player. We asked him to be "on it"...we were doing it, and he said at a certain point... 'Man I don't know what to do. On one hand, you guys are doing so well and I love the music and on the other hand, Dre wants me to work on this new album with him and he's offering me points on the new record. It's this white kid from Detroit....Eminem.'" Mike told him to go work with Eminem and said Elizondo had "great options" in front of him....work with Dre and Eminem or be the bass player in Linkin Park. It sounds like when Mike said "on it", he was referring to Elizondo recording bass for Hybrid Theory (album). If this is true, this might be why there are three different bass players that ended up recording bass on the album (more information below). It doesn't sound like Elizondo ended up recording anything with the band...if he did, it has remained unreleased or we simply don't know about it, but it does sound like the band made the decision to pick him. You can see a full list of Elizondo's works on his Wikipedia page. He ended up recording bass for many popular songs, and co-wrote The Real Slim Shady. Elizondo has gone on to work with bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Maroon 5, Switchfoot and more. Linkin Park, as you probably know, went through quite a few bass players for a short period of time in 1999 and 2000 as Phoenix toured with The Snax. Phoenix was in for Xero and Hybrid Theory (band), but had to leave for a while to finish his touring commitments with The Snax, who Mark Fiore (LP's videographer) was in as well. Kyle Christener recorded the bass on the Hybrid Theory EP. Scott Koziol toured with the band in 1999 and 2000 as you can see in some of the older 2000 videos of Linkin Park performing and is in the music video for One Step Closer. Ian Hornbeck recorded bass on Papercut, A Place For My Head, and Forgotten, while Brad recorded bass for the rest of the songs on the album. Even though Phoenix didn't record bass for Hybrid Theory (album), he still has a few writing credits on it. Just another interesting fact about the band! Thanks Geki for the heads up!
  15. Time for a tour with: Stone Temple Pilots featuring the lead singer of Linkin Park Chester Bennington?
  16. From Blabbermouth: "STONE TEMPLE PILOTS will reunite with singer Chester Bennington for a one-off performance at "From Bach To Rock", a star-studded event to benefit Palos Verdes Peninsula public schools on March 26 at the Norris Theater and Pavilion in Rancho Palos Verdes, California." Other performers include Gary Wright, Yutong, Chas West, Marten Andersson, Monte Pittman, Stan Sharp, and Jane Lee. Tickets and more can be found on the Bach to Rock website. They will go on sale on February 23rd.
  17. Great find. I emailed Jonas about this but didn't know you were posting here, haha. Oops. I'm meeting with Sean this weekend in person surprisingly so I will ask about this.
  18. Well that explains War then
  19. A new studio update from Mike on the latest album by Linkin Park: "Hey everyone, We’re hard at work making some new music for you. The six of us have been more than enthusiastic about how this album is shaping up, and I’m happy to share this update! As usual during an early stage, we don’t know a ton about where the songs will end up. They change shapes over and over during the writing process, and we usually write dozens of songs, which push each other in and out of contention for a spot on the final album. One thing that’s making this album unique (so far) is the process. When we started out as a band, we often started our songs focusing almost entirely on the musical “track," with no vocals until the end of the process. The vocals were usually forced into the existing chords and structure of the song, which often times meant that some ideas we loved never "made it," because good words or good melodies never showed up, even though we liked the music. Over time, we’ve started incorporating vocals earlier and earlier in the process, usually in the form of skat “la la la” vocals and gibberish words. Many of those demos have been shared as a part of our LPU albums. But this time, we decided to go even further, and write more “traditionally." We’re starting with the most fundamental parts of the songs—the words and vocal melodies—and completely fleshing out those ideas before we begin working out the music. That means right now, we’re only focusing on the foundations upon which the songs are built. Some songs are just one piano, keyboard, or guitar, and a vocal. The concept and words of the song are front and center. We’ve even invited some new friends into the studio to bounce ideas off (more to come on that later). So far, the new approach is paying off. The new stuff is really powerful, and the stories and emotional content is really shining through. We’re going to continue on this path until we feel like we’ve got more than enough material to begin the “sound” phase. I’ve been posting some live video streams of studio days up on the Facebook page, so keep an eye out for those updates. And we’ll try to write some more updates as things go. This album is going to be insane, and we’re looking forward to taking you on the journey as we make it. Best, Mike LP" Thoughts?
  20. I thought so too. I'm beginning to think that Rob really did mean 17 songs as in 11 plus an album opener, so 6 MTM bsides. This COULD be the last one, right? But the LPU CD says Mike mixed it. So maybe I'm wrong. I guess we will never know the true answer to this question, lmao. The only thing we know for sure is the 5 that you mentioned are for sure 5 of the extra MTM songs. This month.
  21. That's from Sean BTW so those are legit, in case anyone wanted to know.
  22. I don't think they'll play until August or so. It's weird being in February and already not having a single tour date haha
  23. Linkin Park is currently in the studio writing a new album. After their European Tour ended on September 6th, they entered the studio back home in LA about a week later to start working on the followup to The Hunting Party. Chester quit Stone Temple Pilots over the summer to focus on Linkin Park full time, but finished his touring obligations with them in September and October. Currently, Linkin Park is working at Larrabee Studios again, where The Hunting Party was recorded. Release Date - Late 2016, with a 6 month "hit or miss". Source: LPA podcast - Second half 2016. Source: Rolling Stone Studio Updates - The band is working on writing melodies and lyrics first, for the first time, then they decide what style or genre to play the song in. For Hybrid Theory and Meteora, the band would lay down a completed instrumental, and then write melodies and lyrics on top of that. For Minutes To Midnight, A Thousand Suns, Living Things, and The Hunting Party, Linkin Park would lay down "donna"/scratch vocals (as heard in some of the LP Underground demos) over songs as they were writing them....simultaneously doing vocals and the instrumentals at the same time. Source: LPA podcast and Rolling Stone - The album will not sound like The Hunting Party, instead they will work towards a different sound. Source: NME - Linkin Park will provide video updates from the studio, with clips of new music to fans in the coming months. Source: Facebook live video from Mike Guests - There appears to be collaborations happening again, like the last album. - The first collaboration was in London around the time of the Fort Minor London show, between Mike and an unknown artist. "Later Shinoda reveals he’s already "starting to work out some ideas” for its follow-up. In fact, writing sessions are planned in London for a collaboration with an artist he’s remaining tight-lipped about. “I have no idea what it’ll sound like yet. It won’t sound like ‘The Hunting Party’,” he says firmly. “We like to surprise people.” Source: NME - Mike and Martin Garrix collaborated on new music in November 2015. Source: Social media from both artists Mike then said the session with Martin Garrix was nothing more than meeting with him and throwing out ideas. Source: LPA podcast - Jon Greene from the English band The Bonfires has been spotted in the studio at Larrabee with Linkin Park, in January 2016. Source: Twitter Other Updates - Mike wants to do some projects with fansites like LPLive, LPAssociation, etc in 2016, possibly related to the release of the album. Source: LPA podcast Feel free to add information that you find about the new album, and we will add it to the post!
  24. Looks like Tak (black) and Ryu (silver).
