  1. Why would he not just play Messenger acoustic? or Morning After or some random song? Could even be a cover. Beijing video: "I don't even know what song this is Ok, you guys all ready to sing with me? We're going to make up the words, because I don't know what I'm doing Everybody say hello Say goodbye Performing on the streets of Beijing (? ...live music), I'll do it anyway Alright This gentlemen over here is a lot better at playing the guitar than I am That's alright This is why I have the professionals play the music on the stage and I just walk around and look at you and sometimes sing too Thank you very much Beijing"
  2. http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/bizchina/motoring/2016-07/01/content_25930990.htm Price of that Mercedes car is $154,714
  3. Watching the HD version of this finally. The credits say Ethan mixed it. Chester's vocals are really high pitched...I wonder if the band wanted him to mix it like that or he just deliberately changed it. It sounds almost fake with how different the vocals sound. Another way to tell Ethan mixed it is how he does POA (drums and samples specifically) compared to DSPs. Listening to the guitar parts on OSC, it seems the whole show is actually higher pitched. Terrible mix.
  4. I don't think I've ever heard Chester's voice sound that bad when he isn't sick. Really rough performance, Joe messed the intro up, Chester forgot the lyrics to BID, there seems to be even problems in the playback version of BID whichever show it's from.
  5. Well they are off until November at least, as of right now. Maybe that changes, I hope it does. I also wouldn't be surprised to see more of these sponsorship performances, maybe Mike and Chester at one. It wouldn't be shocking if several band members returned to China this year too. By the way, that is a live version of Burn It Down (with Mike live vocals) they are using as the backing track. Looks quite odd seeing Chester singing alone on a stage to BID and the production is just exploding. The most recent thing I have heard is the album touring cycle start (possible album release too) is March 2017.
  6. Linkin Park has posted a 360 degree studio video update with Mike from Larrabee Studios in Los Angeles, CA. In the video he hints that the new album will most likely be released in 2017. While he says guitars haven't really been worked on yet in the recording process, the band wants this to be their best album yet and is taking a lot of time crafting the songs. This comes as part of the monthly studio update the band has been giving us. Along with this, the following email from Mike to the others was also shown: Hopefully this means some progress on the album may be under way. Maybe we'll start getting clips of songs soon!

  8. In the band's most recent experience with Mercedes, they flew Chester and Joe to Shanghai, China where they performed two songs at the Shanghai International Circuit. The band also designed a new Mercedes-AMG racing car. "Mercedes-AMG is the new key visual partner for the highlight of the Blancpain GT Series and Intercontinental GT Challenge, the 2016 Total 24 Hours of Spa. The dynamic new graphics show one of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 debuting at Spa and storming up the challenging Raidillon corner, with spectacular fireworks in the background. Attentive viewers will see that the silver-and-red Mercedes-AMG sports the name of Linkin Park on the sides of the car. As Linkin Park are real Mercedes-AMG and racing enthusiasts, they came up with the idea to design one of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 which will be run at the 2016 Total 24 Hours of Spa end of July. #blancpaingt #spa24h #mercedesamg " This was the first "performance" of 2016. Mercedes has been a big sponsor/partner of the band in the past year - as you know, Mercedes sponsored the China Tour for The Hunting Party in 2015. Earlier this year, Mike, Phoenix and Joe went to the AMG Driving Academy in Sweden to meet with Mercedes. On May 18, Chester and Phoenix went to Vancouver, Canada to meet with Mercedes-Benz. And on May 27, a series of videos were posted on Linkin Park's Snapchat account following Joe around Los Angeles while driving a new Mercedes for the AMG Driving Performance Magazine. SETLIST: 01. LOATR/SOTD/Iridescent (Ballad Medley) 02. Burn It Down Thank you to our friends at LinkinParkCN for alerting us to this performance!
  9. I don't think I have ever clicked on an ad on YouTube and if I've ever seen one, I've immediately checked WTF was wrong with my Ad Blocking plugin/program. If there's a 15+ second commercial before the video, I'd rather go elsewhere to hear the song. Ads drive me away instantly.
  10. Because I mistakenly mixed up Finch and Freese
  11. Franky indeed sounds good. I'd really like to see Chester do more of these shows, especially with Hellcat Saints. He obviously vibes really well with this lineup, better than some of the ones I've seen before. The Whole Lotta Love video you posted is probably my favorite live performance by him ever. These "all star" bands that play classic rock songs are truly something special. I actually don't think the musicians that play in them know how many fans of music love it. I'd easily pay over $50 to see Chester, Corey Taylor, etc (I could go on for ages) join a lineup like this.
  12. As we reported on June 16th, Chester joined The Hellcat Saints on June 14th for a party celebrating the release of a new video game. Guitarist Dave Kushner of Velvet Revolver was kind enough to sit down with us to discuss the event. How did Hellcat Saints come about? Did you create the band yourself to play rock covers with your friends for fun? It is sort of a succession of the Camp Freddy style? The Hellcat Saints is all-star 'cover' band featuring a revolving group of musicians created by me. The origin of the band was simple...form a rock n' roll supergroup with friends and music luminaries in order to help others. This model isn't rocket science. It all started way back in 1970 with George Harrison and the Concert for Bangladesh, where the true supergroups were born. Not to say the Hellcat Saints exist for only altruistic reasons. The point is to play with peers and friends and entertain the hell out of whatever audience we're in front of. With this band, you have it all! High quality 'star power' hits to deep tracks and a group of musicians that leave 1000% on that stage after each and every show! Camp Freddy, one of the premiere all-star rock cover bands, existed from 2002 to 2013 and is now replaced by Royal Machines and The Hellcat Saints, both of which feature extensive lineups of stars. How do you decide the lineup for the shows you perform? The lineup mostly has to do with the client, charity, and event. The thing we like to do that's a little different than the other bands doing similar things is, we like to tailor the band to the event, not just the singers. I was born and raised in Los Angeles and as a result, I know a LOT of people in bands! Some guests play for part of the show and others play the full show. The lineup for this show was: - Dave Kushner (Velvet Revolver) (guitar) - Gilby Clarke (Guns N' Roses) (guitar) - Robin Finck (Nine Inch Nails) (guitar) - Blasko (Ozzy Osbourne) (bass) - Joey Castillo (Queens of the Stone Age, Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts) (drums) - Franky Perez (Apocalyptica) (vocals) - Chester Bennington (vocals) To see which musicians played on which songs, click here. This was a private show for E3, correct? Yes, but more specifically for the Gung Ho gaming company for a specific video game called Let It Die, which is coming out in the next few months. Did you guys just approach Chester and say "want to guest on a few classic rock songs?" or did he come to you? I've known Chester for a while. I've played with him a few times in other bands like Camp Freddy and we've just seen each other around for years. I emailed him and asked if he was into it, and he said yes. It was literally that simple. Playing with him and that lineup was an amazing thrill for me! He's just so rad on and off stage. A great hand and a great night of rock! SETLIST: 01. Hello There (Cheap Trick)* 02. Highway To Hell (AC/DC)* 03. Thunder Kiss '65 (White Zombie)* 04. Mother (Danzig)* 05. Bodies (Drowning Pool)* 06. Highway Star (Deep Purple)* 07. Helter Skelter (The Beatles)* 08. Kick Out The Jams (MC5)* 09. Hole In The Sky (Black Sabbath)** 10. Them Bones (Alice In Chains)** 11. Down (Stone Temple Pilots)** 12. Ace Of Spades (Motörhead)** 13. Paradise City (Guns N' Roses)** * w/ Franky Perez on vocals ** w/ Chester Bennington on vocals A few more things about this show.... - This show marks the second time that Chester performed a Stone Temple Pilots song without the rest of the band since his Grey Daze days, with the first time being his Dell World 2012.12.11 appearance with Camp Freddy. Interestingly, Joey Castillo was Scott Weiland's drummer for Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts. - After guesting with other artists most of his career, Chester had zero guest appearances with other artists in 2013, 2014, or 2015, which ironically were the three years that he was lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots. There were 10 total appearances with Camp Freddy from 2006-2012. All of his guest appearances can be found here. - The performance was just Chester's second in 2016, coming after the one-off Stone Temple Pilots show in March. Thanks to Dave for answering a few questions about the show!
  13. No problem. I think it'll be 2 weeks before you can properly use them, but the events list is slowly going up. Slipknot, Goo Goo Dolls, Train, Rob Thomas, Disturbed/Breaking Benjamin/Alter Bridge/Saint Asonia, etc are on there....good shows.
  14. Would you guys be interested in doing something like this? We provide a download for a random Linkin Park show (change the year every week) and we all download it, listen to it at 7pm or whatever time and discuss it in the chatroom?
  15. I heard the same, but my account shows 12 free pairs for 24 total free tickets, plus about $80 in vouchers. You can't stack but I think 2 vouchers at once for a $5 off, so....ouch.
  16. This isn't solely Linkin Park news, but if you've bought tickets to see them or any other band from Ticketmaster (1999-2013) in the United States, then you are entitled to either some free tickets or vouchers to future shows. From CNN, "Millions of Ticketmaster customers are getting offers for free tickets because of a 13-year-old lawsuit. The company planned to finish sending out free tickets vouchers "on or around June 18" to U.S. customers who made purchases on its site between October 1999 and February 2013 and paid an "Order Processing Fee" that was never refunded. The offers stem from a lawsuit first filed in 2003 alleging Ticketmaster was charging "excessive and deceptive" fees." Your account should show your "active vouchers", which you can find by typing "ticketmaster active vouchers" into Google, or clicking here and logging in. The free tickets and vouchers expire in June 2020 and may only be used for certain specific events. As of right now, it looks like only General Admission tickets will be given out for free (no word on what comparable seats in arenas will be). The event list has not been published yet, but keep checking this page or sign up here to be emailed when the list is active. Hopefully Linkin Park is included on the list of events for their next tour in the United States, but if not, you can at least use your free tickets/vouchers for some event...likely beyond just music (sports, etc).
  17. Added the show page http://lplive.net/shows/db/chesterbennington/20160614
  18. On June 14th, Chester joined The Hellcat Saints for an E3 private party for the action-horror game Let it Die in Los Angeles. The event was held at the Conga Room. The Hellcat Saints is a band similar to Camp Freddy that was created by Dave Kushner from Velvet Revolver. There is a "revolving door" of musicians in the band and at this show they were joined by Robin Finck (Nine Inch Nails), Blasko (Ozzy Osbourne), Joey Castillo (Queens of the Stone Age), Gilby Clarke (Guns N' Roses), Franky Perez, and Chester. This show was actually announced beforehand with Chester appearing as a special guest, but the announcement went unnoticed in the Linkin Park community. Some photos from the performance can be seen here. Songs performed with Chester include: - Down (Stone Temple Pilots) - Them Bones (Alice In Chains) (2) - Paradise City (Guns N' Roses) - Hole In The Sky (Black Sabbath) - Ace Of Spades (Motörhead) (2) + more? Other songs played during the event (without Chester) include Kick Out The Jams and Highway To Hell. We will work on trying to obtain a full setlist. As you can see from Chester's live guide page, this is his first guest appearance in quite some time. It was his first time on stage since the Stone Temple Pilots charity show in March. Thanks to our friends at LinkinPark:br for the heads up!
  19. LPU XIV was almost a complete bust for me too. LPU XIII had legit 5 songs I thought were great, the best LPU CD since LPU 9, and the followup of LPU XIV was a letdown. But we had an album that year, so we knew 99% instrumentals were coming. Rhinocerous is the only saving grace of any kind on that CD to me. Some stuff shouldn't be released and those tracks would be the extremely early seeds like we see with the Berlin songs. For LPU 15, I really like the Pods tracks but I do feel like they could have been in one mp3 track. Mike didn't make them that way so it doesn't bother me much that they are separate. The two pretty good songs on LPU 15 are Chance of Rain, a full b-side, and Hurry. Hurry is interesting just because of the similarities to So Far Away. I can't complain because we are getting stuff we wouldn't normally get. I also think it'd be nice if we got a demo of The Messenger or something. Is the band afraid of the response an epic song like Primo got? "This is so much better than the album version", etc?
  20. I almost thought he was going to mention High Voltage in the track by track video, when he said they were leaning towards one hip hop song on Hybrid Theory. The ending of Cure For The Itch has the same strings as the intro of the High Voltage remix (on the OSC single, not H! Vltg3). It would have fit there pretty well, but definitely would have been a different style than the album. Strong, strong track though. I probably would have put it there in the end.
  21. Linkin Park has pressed new versions of their old Hybrid Theory-era Street Soldier design, available now in their online store. Two colors are offered - grey and burgundy - both being sold at a reasonable $30. You can purchase the shirts here: Street Soldier Shirt: Grey Street Soldier Shirt: Burgundy The new Linkin Park store is taking shape, but has 14 items out of stock at the moment.
