Lorenzo on Twitter asked for the LP fansites in Chile.

Looks like Chile between the two. Maybe more shows in Brazil too.

RHCP nailed it with Stadium Arcadium, one of the best double albums of all time.

Night three:

Yeah exactly. The wait between albums this time was excruciating. It all started when the USA tour got canceled and then STP got announced 2 weeks later, but no makeup USA tour ever happened. Band in the studio all fall and Chester managed to tour with STP then too. 2016 we got almost nothing - the studio updates were SO small/short, no clips of music, nothing. They're very secretive.

First, Mike's recent video interview: He said he is hesitant to discuss how amazing the new music is, and doesn't want to give song titles, and album name, etc. The original goal was to have new music out by now but they slowed the process down to spend more time on the album and write a few extra new songs. The band will release music at the beginning of the year. Next, Chester's recent Kings of Chaos interview: "I can’t give you a date because we don’t know. We have begun mixing. That lets you know we are coming up to the final phases of the record. We have a ton of songs, so we are going to be mixing for quite a long time. We have been talking about first quarter of next year. It will be before summer, I imagine. The new Linkin Park record is what I have been focused on; I’m extremely excited about it. We’ve been working with a lot of great collaborators in terms of writing. We’ve been doing this for a long time. This is our seventh record, and we’ve always kept things in house, meaning we shut the doors and don’t let anybody in like Willy Wonka. Then we go, “Look! Does anyone like the candy we made?” This time we were really curious how other artists and other writers work because we like to gather as much information and expand on our education, so to speak. We look at music the same way doctors look at medicine. There is always an evolution, always something new that you can learn, so we don’t rest on what we already know how to do. It’s funny because when we started the process of making a new record, we really wanted to focus on vocals and melody first. That was something that was suggested by Rick Rubin when we first started working with Rick. It took us about three albums and 6 years to figure out exactly how to do that. For me, I’ve had a lot of time to get into the emotional and lyrical content of the songs. I’ve been able to sit with them for a long time, listen to them, and they’ve become ingrained into my mind before I even went in and sang. There is something special that I feel is very different from what we have done in the past as a result of doing things this way. Many of the vocals I did were done with a piano or a simple guitar chord progression. Then we built the track around the vocals and created all the sounds that we wanted to replace the guitars and piano." Judging by comments from both Mike and Chester, the band is mixing the album now with a lot of tracks. A single will likely be released in January or February, with the album out in the first quarter of the year, before the summer tour.

Yeah it seems likely this will all be festivals now. I thought they were done with the festival announcements, haha. Great to have them play Sweden again after all the canceled shows and it's been so long since they've returned. 12th is open. 20th is open. Blink 182 got announced as LP support for Rock Werchter. They're at Hurricane on 24th, Southside 25th and don't appear to be headlining so perhaps LP plays those dates. They're taking a lot of days off / not doing a lot back-to-back shows. Maybe Mike can sneak in a Fort Minor date or two, and maybe LP plays an intimate London/Hamburg/Berlin show sometime.

LP Scrapbook by Mike Shinoda & Megan Cable
hahninator replied to loulax07's topic in Everything Linkin Park
Wow a scan of this could actually be added to these pages. What in the world, I never saw this on eBay. Great find, one of the most unique items I've seen in a while. -
Remember they can announce headlining tours 2 months out in the USA. It's November, about to be December. Still tons of time to announce something if they do it in April. I doubt they will, but you never know.
-
It doesn't make sense for their gear, band, crew to stay a week on another continent between shows. They have room for 3-4 shows during that week. It'd be a good time for them to try a new country, like Peru. Or return to Chile.
-
May 6 to May 13. Wow. Lots of room for other shows. May 13 is my birthday too. Congrats.

Glastonbury sells out in advance like this way before the lineup is announced. You can always sell your ticket later depending on how popular the festival is. Many festivals offer presales before the lineup is announced for a cheaper price, which is cool. Hellfest is totally sold out. LP isn't even offering day passes for the LPU, like they have done before. I guess you're on your own for this one, ha.
-
11 festivals is the most they have ever done on a tour. 9 in 2012.
-
So the Hellfest logo is really from the Living Things era.
-
Yes they have never played there before. 12, 19 or 20, 29, 30. Lots of room for those dates to be headlining shows.
-
I had *really* good rumors for Hellfest, but it was a month (!) since I heard anything about it. When this thread was made was when we were told they were on the lineup even though it was a fake lineup. So I removed the show since 4 weeks went by, and I thought something had happened and they got removed from it or something. I'm glad they're playing it! First time France gets two shows in one tour and even the same year since 2008. LP sticks out on this lineup but the support acts are cool to see since they're so uniquely heavy. Yes there are quite a few gaps for them to announce more shows. Russia, maybe Switzerland. We'll see. Lots of room for headlining shows, like 5 of them. Maybe another festival is in there too....not sure.

I don't disagree with anything in this thread. Really great post by Astat, and I'd say it's all factual. These days as the time goes on, it seems the band just labels things as being from the year the albums came out. BIO and Attached are good examples of this, but we know better. Very few songs would get a 2003 or 2007 credit. I want to reiterate the Burberry thing, I think they really fucked this one up / Mike forgot about Space Station. There is nothing noticeably different about the song and like it was stated earlier, the original was released in 2012. LP hasn't ever completely reused a full demo like that for a new album that they've already released (which we know about!), so it makes me think it could have been released to us on purpose with an incorrect date. Who knows. I doubt Mike would reply to a question about it. This is the most troubling date so far in the LPU series. Lastly, I've always had a question about Pretend To Be. We know LP worked in the studio in Europe in June 2008. When else did they work on music? Is it known they recorded in a studio at all during the other parts of the year? When did they hit the studio for the ATS sessions? It sounds so different to me than these June 2008 demos we have is why I am asking the question. "The band, through the Linkin Park station on A.P.E. Radio, has said "Pretend To Be" originated from a Minutes To Midnight demo but they went back and re-recorded it in 2008."

Spamming the band/management isn't a good idea. That's why I gave up on the DSP thing. I did an open letter then a Change.org petition. They know we want it, but nothing else on my end will get them to change their mind, so I dropped it. It's fine for us to, sure, make an LPU wish list and tweet it once at them. That would work. But not sending them the same thing over and over.

Agreed, that one slipped by me. Coal could have been recorded in 1997 after the Xero tape and recorded to the same thing Mike recorded Pods to. It sounds great, but the Xero tape might have been an exception in terms of quality in that era (meaning it sounded worse than other songs recorded that year by Mike since it was recorded directly to tape). Need an Astat opinion honestly.
