Chester joining Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp in April
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Newswire
Looks like no Chester at the actual concert. -
From Blabbermouth: For some of you, Christmas has come extremely early...or just a tad late. Chester will be joining the lineup for this year's Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp, with the final concert being held at the Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles. Yes, the same Whisky that Xero and Linkin Park have performed at. Korn's Brian "Head" Welch will be at the camp with him and they'll be mentoring students. The counselors include Amir from Julien-K and Orgy, and John from Disturbed, with other special guests promised. "Attendees will jam, write and perform live in a non-competitive atmosphere. They'll participate in classes on all instruments, learn practice techniques and more, all of which leads up to a live performance alongside Welch at the legendary Whisky a Go Go on the famed Sunset Strip." The event takes place April 6th through 9th. Packages start at the extraordinarily low price of $3,999. Phew. Specific information can be found here. There are a few different packages, like an $800 Meet & Greet only package but you can attend the rehearsal and performance. If you just want to watch these great musicians rock out on stage, they will have tickets for sale JUST for the concert. The link doesn't work for them yet, but the one on March 5th for other artists has tickets between $25-$100....very reasonable. UPDATE: It appears that Chester will not perform at the actual concert at the Whisky, but just the rehearsals. A statement from Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp to us: "Chester will be jamming with all the campers at the private Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp facility, not at the Whisky. "

When they headlined? How do you know that?

Update: Youth View Awards not a real performance
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Newswire
I don't know why they put Linkin Park on their website for the 2017 edition. Their management confirmed to me that it is not a real performance date. Linkin Park will not be playing there. We have to be careful and watch out for these false events, but this usually doesn't ever happen. -

Who will Linkin Park bring on tour in North America?
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Newswire
Julien-K hasn't done anything commercially whatsoever since Projekt Revolution 2007 and have not toured the United States since what, 2009? There's no advantage to taking them out on tour. -
The band isn't hyping anything. They have to keep us updated that they're in the studio or else we'd be going insane trying to find info like we did for the MTM sessions. The wait from after Summer Sonic 2006 to April 2007 was the worst in history, easily. Literally miserable because they gave us zero information whatsoever on anything. Imagine this time if we knew they went to Belgium for a race or to these random events like Chester speaking in Mesa, Arizona, but we didn't know they were in the studio. We'd be going crazy. They clearly have a plan and are almost done with everything if they're doing merch right now, photo shoots, music video shoots, on the lineup for music awards, etc. Hype is something they'll deliberately start doing soon. They are just taking a while with this, but it's almost guaranteed we'll get music by this time next month.

Update: Youth View Awards not a real performance

Not just one event for the single, maybe exposure to awards shows, TV performances, etc in the month of February to promote the single. -
If you've been following social media over the past few days, you have seen the Snapchats and more of Linkin Park working on a project (assumed to be a photo shoot) for the new album - here, here, and here. A Los Angeles area photographer has confirmed that they are now shooting a music video. There of course is no news on when we will get a single or music video, but we may hear something soon. 1/15 Update: Great find by LP Community. "Before I called it a day, I headed to the 4th Street Bridge to get some drone footage with my DJI Mavic. I ran into some cool people, and even crossed paths with Chester and Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park. " This guy Alfredo was flying his drone around the bridge of the Linkin Park shoot, and confirms near the end of the video that the director asked him if he could use some of his footage for the new Linkin Park music video.

Looks like a promo performance for the new single. If they want to perform as soon as February, I wonder what March and April will have. -
Thanks to the ChesterBNetwork, we have found out that Linkin Park will be performing at the Youth View Awards on February 18, 2017. The event is held at the National Indoors Sports Complex in Kingston, Jamaica. Tickets can be purchased here. As of now, this appears to be a one-off performance and the website says it will just feature Chester, Mike, Brad, and Rob, but that could be an error. It now seems very likely we will get a new Linkin Park song by that time. UPDATE / CORRECTION: Linkin Park will NOT be performing at the Youth View Awards. This is not a real performance by the band and it has been confirmed that it is fake.

[Poll] When new LP single will drop?
hahninator replied to kiq fLP's topic in Everything Linkin Park
Early to mid February. They are still mixing the album it seems. -
Thanks for the heads up. Great stuff. Link to video in first post doesn't work for me but it appears to be a Facebook link, right? Might have to do with the permissions on it.

I think outside of the A7X fanbase, the release method would be classified as a bust.

It's good he mentioned a "making of" because we didn't get a whole lot for Living Things and The Hunting Party. I enjoy the "making of" DVDs, like MTM and ATS especially. If they don't want to put it on a physical product then they can just attach it with a digital order online. We like that stuff...the process is interesting to watch.

A little recap from Mike's YouTube Live video from today in Long Beach: - "New album is on the way, new music is on the way. We're wrapping it up. "When" is a surprise, but not too long." - "You're going to be surprised as to what it sounds like. Expect the unexpected. Don't expect what you've heard before." - "A Fort Minor album? Let's talk about a Linkin Park album first." - "I've been working 50 hours a week on new Linkin Park music." - "The "making of" the album, the teasers, the previews will happen when it happens. Tomorrow, a week, three weeks, you never know." - "Today we are working on new shirts, hoodies, and other new merch for the Linkin Park album." - "I can say that yes, we will have at least one featured artist on the new album. We self-produced (Mike, Brad) the album." So it sounds like the new music will be released relatively soon.

Who will Linkin Park bring on tour in North America?
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Newswire
HIghly Suspect is a great guess. Lots of hype going for them right now. I disagree about Paramore, not about Fall Out Boy though unless FOB wanted to do a coheadliner. Paramore hasn't released an album since 2013. Yes, Ain't It Fun took over the world but they are in a position to open for Linkin Park, easily. If Incubus opened for LP in 2012, a year after headlining the exact same venues (+ more) on their own and a year after releasing a new studio album, then Paramore is definitely possible. They axed the band, haven't done anything musically in years, and they opened for Fall Out Boy on Monumentour. Now if Haley turned it down, that'd be one thing but there's no way Paramore is "too big" to open for LP. Also disagreed slightly on the everything else post-New Divide is forgotten by people. That's true in a sense. Most people I talk to that say "wow, LP is still a band?" say the last thing they heard was Waiting For The End or Iridescent. So, A Thousand Suns had some crossover hits. WFTE was a pretty popular song outside of the fanbase regardless of what it did commercially, and Iridescent I guess was because it was in Transformers. WFTE more so of a recognizable tune than Iridescent, for sure. HCT would have drawn just as well with Incubus without the HCT branding. I'm sure you meant HCT without Incubus or without the Honda branding would have done significantly worse - I'm positive that's true. No big USA hit for Living Things. And same thing with Carnivores, it would have tanked too if Mars wasn't on it. LP can still draw well in big markets on their own, but as we saw with the arena tour before it was canceled, they can't draw big numbers in B cities without major support. Nashville and Indianapolis had significant numbers of empty seats and that's with Rise Against opening. tl;dr: Due to LP's lackluster commercial performances since 2010 (could argue 2009), they will need a massive coheadliner or support act to go ahead in the future unless the new album has mega sales. -
Who will Linkin Park bring on tour in North America?
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Newswire
Starset LOL they are one of the worst touring bands out there -
As 2016 turns to 2017, we are anticipating Linkin Park's first full North American Tour this summer since Carnivores Tour in summer 2014. The tour in winter 2015 was unfortunately canceled due to Chester's injury after three shows, so this tour will be a long time coming for fans since 2016 was a year of no shows. The question isn't really WHEN, as it's likely they'll do another August-September summer tour as the last two albums had, but WHO they will bring out. 2012's Honda Civic Tour featured support from Incubus and Mutemath while 2014's Carnivores Tour was supported by 30 Seconds To Mars and AFI. Those are big shoes to fill. 2015's canceled arena tour had Rise Against and Of Mice & Men. As of now, Rise Against is supporting Linkin Park in Chile in May, but visits European festivals in early August. LP has never had to cancel a full tour in North America before 2015, so it remains to be seen if they'll try to get Rise Against back on tour with them or not. With Incubus and 30 Seconds To Mars being two large bands used in the past two U.S. & Canada summer tours, Linkin Park might be looking to go big again in North America. One possible band is Blink 182. Coming off of a fresh Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album, Blink is releasing a deluxe edition of their latest album "California", and say it's almost like a new album for them due to the release of b-sides, new mixes, and new songs. They are very much looking forward to getting back on the road in 2017. Right now, Blink is playing a few of the same shows as Linkin Park in June 2017 in Europe (Download Paris, NovaRock, Hurricane, Southside), but the band members do mention wanting to perform at Reading and Leeds in late August 2017, possibly knocking them out of contention for a tour with Linkin Park. However, they do have an eleven show UK tour that wraps up in late July making a Reading and Leeds appearance unnecessary. Who doesn't seem likely to tour with Linkin Park? Fall Out Boy. Touring in support of American Beauty/American Psycho with the Boys Of Zummer Tour in 2015 and then Wintour in 2016, Fall Out Boy has played over 60 shows in the United States recently and has exhausted markets with their extensive touring. Who would you like to see Linkin Park take out in North America in 2017?

I don't see anything either but I'll keep an eye out and look around for you. -
Two very easy solutions to help preserve Chester's voice as long as possible: 1. Give him a day off between every show. That's nothing to be ashamed of. The five members that are not Mike seem to have collectively decided to only play 3-4 LP shows per week. They want as much down time as possible. Well just go ahead and combine that with helping Chester out and letting him rest his voice on tour with a day off between every show. It's hard to compare this situation to Metallica, but they really help James by not doing back-to-back shows...always 1, usually 2 days off between their shows. 2. Drop the heaviest songs from the sets OR rotate them in/out or between multiple setlists. Don't force the man to sing Given Up every night. Split it all up. We'd love them to have more variety in the shows, so bring in some songs that are easier on his voice and that we'd love to see. Win/win for both. If they don't want to perform OSC every single show, don't do it. We all want to see him have a great voice for years down the road. No one is going to be offended, mad, upset, or anything by giving him a night off after each show. We all want to see LP go as long as possible and in the best shape possible. It's obvious now if you see multiple nights in a row, he usually isn't 100% vocally the second night. That's just age, it happens, it's nothing on Chester himself. Help him out and extend the lifespan of his voice. Aaaand then we can get some Fort Minor shows in between
