Just as Matt Sorum said in 2016, Kings of Chaos plans to tour/play into 2017 and their first show has just been announced by Billboard.com. As expected, Chester is still in the lineup for the band and they will rock with him this April. Billboard: "The Long Beach Grand Prix will rev up to 11 when the Matt Sorum-founded supergroup Kings of Chaos will follow the day’s racing activities, Saturday, April 8, on the Convention Center outdoor stage. The show, which will be free to fans with racing tickets, is scheduled to begin around 6 p.m." For the lineup at this show, Dean DeLeo from Stone Temple Pilots will join, meaning they will feature three of the four STP members: Chester, Robert and Dean. The location is not too far from the last Stone Temple Pilots show in March 2016, either. This is the first Kings of Chaos show announced for 2017, but more are expected as Chester juggles Kings with Linkin Park's new single and album promotion.

It'd make sense to do this for the album release. For the single I don't know if they'll do anything like a full show. We will see. They've never done a cycle like this - start with a single promo and performances before any album news is out at all.

This. Astat nails it 100%. They don't need rehearsals to just mimic a music video. This surely is for the promo stuff this month. Tour rehearsals for May won't start until April. The news about this is that we didn't know until now that they'd be playing any shows this month. I'd be surprised if they did anything like a club show in LA, I bet it's more along the lines of Jimmy Kimmel, Conan, etc.

I tried hard to keep at least something going but when the gap was that long it was literally impossible for me to find things to post at times. I know we went days without posts a lot. It was a terrible time period - seriously 2016 was worse than the September 2006 to March 2007 break, which was bad. The fanbase seems like it has a sense of relief now that promo has started. What's the rush if the song is coming out in a week or whatever? I'm fine with promo clips; they have to hype it up in some way. It's not like they gave us a 4 second clip, this is a legit minute long video.

How can you people judge a song or album before you even hear anything from it? The best song released since the ATS era is undoubtedly Powerless for me.

Agreed, I think they start promo at the beginning of February in SOME form or another but I do agree we have some time still.

I doubt it was Chester due to him participating in a similar event in Cleveland around the RNC. Probably Matt Sorum. It's unfortunate military events are booked surrounding these political events. Just hold it at a different time...maybe easier said than done. Sucks it had to be canceled in the end due to this.
