The lyrics are substandard for them, and apparently don't come out even 1% better than if they had done them last. I mean I know Burn It Down, etc had really pathetic lyrics. However, the music is what truly suffers in this approach by being done last.

I like this a lot. So 3 weeks of Third Encore rehearsals with a full crew and they are at NRG doing this. That means live shows soon.

The song isn't anything like what I thought it'd sound like. It's a pretty bad performance from Chester and I mean that in the sense that he has every rock all star band knocking on his door begging him to play with them (STP, Velvet Revolver, Kings of Chaos, all the cover bands) and he's being utilized in a very odd way. I know LP doesn't make solely rock music but goodness, it's a bad vocal performance here. Kiiara sounds fantastic, however. We went from Mike saying he basically wanted to "save rock music" and all that with THP to a total transformation in sound lol. Billboard said "Why did you make a top 40 pop radio song?" and Mike says "I certainly wouldn't describe it that way"...as if he's like, not admitting what it really is. Not my type of music, I didn't think they could make a worse single than Burn It Down, but let's see what the rest of the album sounds like.

Hong Kong brings huge crowds for LP. It's a shame they didn't get a 2015 show for THP Tour. I hope they can find a balance like Metallica did, where they can play both China and Hong Kong. It's time for India to get a show.

H.I.P. has confirmed that Linkin Park will be touring Japan in November. Mike has also just added on KROQ that the band has a full Asian Tour booked for this year. Stay tuned for more information as dates will be released soon. Linkin Park's last visit to Japan was for Summer Sonic 2013, but the last time they headlined anything besides a festival was for A Thousand Suns in September 2011. It has been a long time coming. - Zane Lowe texted Mike and introduced him to Kiiara, who said her favorite band was Linkin Park. She came in after the song was written. - The lead writers for Linkin Park are Mike and Brad. On this album, they brought in more artists to help with the songwriting process. - Mike says The Hunting Party was the most successful touring cycle for the band in their career. - As soon as the touring cycle for THP ended, Mike wanted to immediately work on creating new Linkin Park music. - Mike mentions he wanted to learn how other songwriters create songs. The session in London in Sept 2015 started this learning process. - Linkin Park met with 30-40 songwriters during this album process. It was one at a time, not a competition. - Linkin Park is more than capable of writing their own songs (of course), but they wanted to change it up and write with others this time. - #HeavyLP sounds like the rest of the album #OneMoreLight - As mentioned before, the songs started with vocals first - a new idea for LP.
