  1. We don't know if Mike did that or not. As far as we know, he could have talked to Tom. We don't know if Mike made no effort whatsoever. As the head of Machine Shop, Mike I'm sure made an effort. It's very unlike him to not do anything when someone is in need. Unless I hear it from the man himself, I won't believe that Mike didn't help them at all. I'm sure Mike did SOMETHING, but we don't have enough information as to what and the extent that he attempted to help SOB out.
  2. That's the way I see it. Mike has a big name behind him but I don't think he'd risk getting his label / Tom Whalley pissed the hell off at him just so he can get the SOB record released.
  3. I logged on Facebook and since I'm subscribed to Takbir from Styles Of Beyond, it showed me his latest update - a Q&A session with him by his own "Ribkat Music Team". You can check the full thing out here. The reason I posted about this is that he brings up Mike in a few answers. Check this out - I'd love to get your opinion on what Tak says. I think he's taking it a bit too extreme personally (Ryu has an entirely different opinion/take on it than Tak, but it's still interesting nevertheless). 4) What are your thoughts, on how the whole Fort Minor/ Machine Shop records situation was handled? Tak: "I personally feel that it was a bunch of bullshit. We (S.O.B.) put a lot of sweat into our last record for 2 years only to get strung along and crapped on in the end. I was extremely disappointed in Mike Shinoda because when everything fell through the wet paper bag he basically said "Sorry Fellas....See Ya" and that was that. I thought we would've had much more support from him and the horrible label but obviously not. I could ramble for ions about this but I wont....nuff said." 5) It's been rumored that you sold your Machine Shop chain for over $15,000. If it is true, can you explain why? Tak: "Yes it is true. I had a "Super Fan" in Asia, who was obsessed with my chain who was willing to do anything to get it. "Super Fan" offered me a ridiculous amount of money which I didn't believe "Of course" until "Super Fan" called a relative who arrived shortly after one of my shows with a pocket full feddy. I said "Wowzerz" and simply handed over my chain with a sinister grin. I realized that we (S.O.B.) were bamboozled and got the good ol" "3rd Bass" treatment and signed a record deal just to get a damn chain which means nothing to me now and thats why I sold it..ya hurd?" 6) Is there anything you can say to the fans regarding the highly anticipated release of "Reseda Beach"? Tak: "Man....what a "Reseda Bummer" sorry guys but like I said we were severely crapped on by Warner Brothers and wonderful Machine Shit oops I mean Shop.It really sucks because we have a lot of loyal S.O.B fans out there that have been patiently waiting for this record only to find out that its probably never gonna be released...." Interesting. Last year Ryu posted some of his thoughts on the SOB Central forums. You can read about that here and here. Essentially that whole thread describes the situation. Thoughts?
  4. That sounds really stupid though. Presenting an album via a game on an iPhone? I know maybe 2 people max that have an iPhone. That'd be really silly...I hope this isn't what they meant.
  5. That might be where the Forgotten mp3 came from for the Boston show. I remember that circulating a while back, claiming to be from that show, and this would match up since they were doing APFMH -> Forgotten to start the shows around this time. Hmm. Felipe drop them an email and see if they can get us that song (so we can verify) and if they have the rest of the show. Date should be blackened on 2000 page - some source exists.
  6. Sweet! I'll have to email those people and see if they remember the dates somehow. Maybe they have a ticket stub or something left. I'll go check.
  7. Janek I love that setlist, oh man how I'd love to see that live, haha
  8. I support it, absolutely. Go ahead and do it Serg, I think that's a great idea. Sounds very nice. I was wondering what to do about all that stuff on the 2000 page - this is the best option.
  9. I agree with that. I'm glad Chester stayed for 3 hours. It was slow but at least he went through the alphabet quite a bit. For Rob and Phoenix I really do think another person is typing the answers. Someone sitting next to them. Mike is the best one EVER at chats. He does that "type in all lowercase" shit and answers questions fast as hell. He is very very informative, he doesn't have vague answers and he really lets us know what's going on. The inside scoop. Mike is really good with the chats - he seems more..."fan-friendly" it seems to me, at least. I really enjoyed Mike's last chat. I got more info out of that one chat he did than I had for months on LP.com, etc. Maybe it's just that I'm a big big fan of Mike but I seem to get quite a bit of info from him with the chats he does as opposed to the other band members. The Rob chat I got NOTHING from, and a few others have been pretty bad as well. Hmm.

    Slow News

Slow news week, sorry! I'll see what I can do about that. Well, maybe. A lot of you are having problems with the other news I'm posting about Styles Of Beyond and Julien-K. Maybe I shouldn't post our interview with Julien-K...I'm not really sure right now. Anyway, MIMS did a song called 'Rock N Rollin' with Tech N9ne. This is pretty old news, but he mentions Linkin Park at the beginning of the second verse: "You find me at Linkin Park, with Motely Crue". A ton of bands are in the song - check the lyrics here. Any of you see Crank 2: High Voltage? Preston, Mary Ann and I checked out the midnight showing of it the other day and I do have to say, the movie is excellent. It's definitely rated R for a reason but the violence is worth it. Comedy, action, everything all-in-one for you. Plus, Chester's in it! Nothing like seeing Chester up on the big screen. Also, since I was out of town and didn't have internet to post about it - I'd like to wish our good friend Adam from the LPU a belated happy birthday! I believe this is his 25th birthday (well, Friday was). It's not the biggest one, but it's a good one! Happy birthday Adam!
  11. Holly and Apathy are rumored to be making an EP or an album together. Sounds great to me. Her new CD is in the works too. Apathy is doing a Big Mike mixtape soon, then his solo album is coming. Demigodz CD is coming this year, and Reseda Beach in less than 2 months. Gonna be A+. Holly is really cool to talk to and Ryu/Apathy/Scoop are so damn funny it makes for a great time, even if it does go to 4am eastern time.
  12. If you really want me to write a 5 paragraph essay on why I posted this as news, then I can. However, I think it's quite obvious why it was news and I'll leave it at that for now. If you don't lik eit, you're always welcome to skip to the next news post, come up with your own news in the period of lacking LP news, or simply go to another website. Thanks.
  13. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/ryutube Check it out! Ryu's back at it for the 2nd night in a row. Come in and get your daily fixin' of Ryu! Ryu chatted for a 2nd night in a row on the 16th and he'll be back tonight, the 17th for another chat on his ustream channel. It's a fun evening...last night featured Holly Brook and Apathy joining the crew. If you want to hear new music by all of them and are interested in having a good time, then this is definitely something worth it. Thanks! Kudos to Jay of course for the news.
  14. They thought it'd be all grand and glorious if LP took them under their wing and put them on Machine Shop. Ryu flat out said Mike is not a record label executive at all. They were treated like absolute shit by Warner Bros (who oversees Machine Shop). Go check the SOB Central forums for Ryu's situation / fight with Tom Whalley, etc. It was pretty nasty.
  15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXuJaYL-qAs Yeah FTI is right there. We need to make 2 sources out of it.
  16. No problem. He said another track w/ Mike is possible. Asking him about the With You remix from Reanimation now. Reseda Beach within the next 2 months. He said he thought the With You remix was released in Europe somewhere or something but I don't think it ever made it out if it was planned to be released. He did a verse for it and he doesn't have the track...LP scrapped it for some reason. He submitted it but never heard the final version. Oh well. He said he also worked on the Jay Gordon POA remix and did a verse for that. Linkinjoze, thanks for asking him. He's playing a song now called "I Did It To Myself" that's talking about the LP situation with SOB and all that. Good track. Talking about being taken under their wings and how he sort of regrets it in a way and stuff. Ryu is real down to earth. First track from the CD Reseda Beach was gonna be on We Major by FM. Ryu did it as a solo song but Mike liked it so much he said put it on Reseda Beach instead of We Major (just a mixtape). Ghostface was gonna be on it since Tak didn't like the beat at all but Tak ended up being on it. It's called "Here We Go". "Take it to the radio; slip a couple dollars in their pockets so they play it though". Sick. "Damn" has Michael Buble and Holly Brook on it. Michael was at a Grammy party w/them...Cheap got his email address and then he came and got on the song for free. "Did it for a bottle of scotch", haha. "Get Stupid'r" was renamed to "Damn" and totally redone due to samples. Mike produced it w/Apathy. "Howdy Doodie" had Mike producing as well. Other songs that weren't redone but cut from Reseda Beach due to samples can be found on Razor Tag. I think "Hey You" was one of them that was cut, etc. Maybe "Savin' L.A." as well. I'll have to ask Jay. Mike is producing a new song off of the Apathy album. He's still working with Cypress Hill as well. Apathy: "Yeah ...Shinoda is my homie. Shinoda just produced a song for my new album. The song is called "Shoot First" featuring B-Real of Cypress Hill and Celph Titled."
  17. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/ryutube Everyone head on in there - Ryu from Styles Of Beyond and all your other favorite projects (Get Busy Committee, anyone?) is doing a live video chat right now. He's talking about the future of Styles Of Beyond, the new album, and many other things. This is an exclusive one-on-one chance you have to ask him any questions and/or hear what he has to say, so come in and check it out! EDIT: Now featuring Apathy and soon, Scoop! Check the comments for the updates so far on the chat. There's some interesting info on Ryu's tracks he's done with LP and some other stuff. Ryu from SOB did a live video chat last night and let us ask questions and just chill with him as he played us both some new music and old music of his. Fun times! Check the thread for all the info. Thanks to my good friend Jay Sinkie from SOBCentral.com for the hookup!
  18. http://www.google.com/search?q=mihama+athl...lient=firefox-a The only results for that are LP-related. I can't find a single venue-related article for Mihama Athletic Field. Chatan turns up many results. http://wiki.worldflicks.org/chatan_athleti...66945)&z=18 http://www.google.com/search?q=chatan+athl...hs=sft&sa=2 etc etc. Can you provide info on the Mihama venue?
  19. Pushing piano from Saitama 11.23.2007 - Chester fucks up the beginning of Numb. Brad hits a wrong note on HHH piano in the first verse.
  20. I do not think they will be in the USA this summer. The LPU email I got recently said: "Linkin Park will be touring in Europe and Asia this summer. LP Underground members have chances for meet & greets with members and LPU members in Taiwan will receive 10% off their ticket price for the show on August 13. Join today to take advantage of these and other member-only benefits! " Surely it'd say "Stay tuned for more tour announcements in the coming weeks / months" or something if they were planning a USA tour. We'll see what happens. Julien-K and Dead By Sunrise are supposed to hit the road in the USA right after the LP dates. Maybe we'll see a big ass LP USA arena tour this winter.
  21. Sweet - sounds great. DSPs I hope.
  22. LP disconnects theirs (the HDs) from the internet and keeps their files and shit offline so it's not going to happen with them
  23. http://lplive.net/shows/20070524.php numb intro is messed up
  24. Check this out. Source is here. I wonder what all he touched that involved Linkin Park. I also wonder what all kind of issues the band keeps quiet about (of course I would too) that is related to privacy leaks, etc. Interesting if not scary as well. Leave the bands alone...? "FBI detectives are still trying to build a case against an Internet hacker who allegedly tapped into Miley Cyrus' emails. The Hannah Montana star was left fuming last year when someone broke into her personal online accounts and leaked a string of saucy pictures of the star onto the web. Josh Holly, 19, was named as a prime suspect in the police investigation after detectives raided his Tennessee home in October and seized his computer equipment. The site reports that police officers are also investigating claims that Holly may have also used his Internet skills to hack celebrities' MySpace.com accounts and send spam emails out to fans. Artists including Chris Brown, Rihanna, Linkin Park and Fall Out Boy are all said to have fallen victim to the alleged scam. "
