  1. Alright LPL users, I'm asking for a favor. I'm working on a project - it'll probably be pretty obvious what it is, but I'm not going to give any info out on it yet - for the site. If anyone would like to, I'd love for you to send in "random show facts". I'm looking for interesting facts about shows, something cool. I don't want something like "Linkin Park played Points Of Authority on July 30, 2008". I'm loojking for interesting facts such as "Linkin Park has only played one show in _____". "During a performance of Faint on X date, a fan ran on stage", etc etc. Anything interesting or cool you find on LPLive, I'd love for you to submit it. The key is to have something that when someone looks at it, they'd be like "Oh cool, I never knew that!". Anyway, email them to me at hahninator@sotrix.net if you all get the time. DON'T put them in a reply to this thread, though. Thanks, and I'm looking forward to what you guys have to send in! New rules for the media allowed on LPLive have also been posted in the site rules thread, which can be found here. nkramar, one of our admins, has rewritten them and after some discussion with me, has had them approved for release on the site. We've conferred with the proper people and have decided it's alright to post Grey Daze, Tasty Snax, etc audio on the site. Anyway, check the rules out if you have any question on what's allowed and what's not allowed - it's all listed out for you in an easy-to-read format. We thought you'd enjoy that. Thanks!
  2. Holy fucking SHIT people need to calm down. Jesus christ there is no reason to flip out over something like this. I have no idea why bootleg was on the filtered words list. I didn't even know we HAD a filtered word list. I guess I have to accept responsibility and apologize on behalf of whomever did it since I run the site but I mean damn, don't go and flip out over something so simple. We hate them as much as you. However, the law doesn't have an opinion of us or the bootleggers so we must side with the law and be careful here. I hate people that make unofficial shit and sell it just as much as I hate people that sell their recordings. Like I said though, we can't do a damn thing about it. It's still considered "official" in some means, even if it is a legal loophole, so we must obey the law here no matter what we think of it. No reason to flip shit and cause a confrontation about it. Felipe I respect your opinion on the matter but regardless of what you think, we're not posting links to it here. Period.
  3. It's still "official" dude - do you think the company that made this wants it pirated all over the net?
  4. Yeah and option for the previous layout would be appreciated. Also is there any update in being able to have "newest post displayed first" in the thread? Newest post on top. Driving me crazy viewing the forum like this.
  5. Has anyone heard about this? While searching on LPTimes for the LPU Rob chat transcript, I came across this. "Rick Rubin: In the Studio" book posted by Jas, 03/16/06 Blabbermouth reports that Metallica and Linkin Park are among many other bands to be featured in the "Rick Rubin: In the Studio" book set to be released in late fall this year. Source here. The description reads: "In the late fall of 2006, Rock N' Roll Books will release "Rick Rubin: In the Studio", a book focusing on the mega-producer's incredible 20-plus-year producing career. Devoted as a studio study to the making of each of Rubin's multiplatinum smashes — with bands ranging from the Beastie Boys and Run DMC to Johnny Cash and the Red Hot Cilli Peppers, Danzig to Linkin Park and Tom Petty to Metallica among many others — this book will feature interviews with band members as well as interview material with the producer himself discussing the making of each record in his wide-ranging, multi-genre catalog." According to this site, the book isn't coming out until August 2009. Late release, huh? Wow. I wonder what he'll say about Linkin Park and what band members will be interviewed. It should be pretty cool, I might see if I can preorder it somewhere. Any thoughts?
  6. LOL The craziest one of all was the Rob chat, holy shit. Derek and I blew up because we SWORE, I mean absolutely SWORE that it was a robot. You'd get the standard fan questions about the album - NONE of them would be answered and then all of a sudden some random bullshit not related to LP at all, lol. The reason we didn't buy what he said about giving us an "exclusive" by informing us of the song title "Drum Song" is because every other thing he said was nonsense. However, things improved. Mike tore that motherfucker up when he went in there. He lit it on fire with his typing in all lowercase awesomeness and just gave us 100000000000x the information in 1 chat that we'd get from 600 LPU chats and all the news on LP.com in half a year COMBINED. And then Chester stayed for like 3 hours. Hell yeah. Phoenix was back to sub-par, so we'll see what Brad does. It's Brad's turn to make it. Deal or no deal, Brad. Let's see what you can do

    DBS Updates

Well the original is acoustic. He wrote the song naked, in his bathroom about one day growing up and playing for a bunch of cool music fans live. Written in 2001 I am assuming? Well maybe before that but it was first played in 2001. LP already had big success in 2001 and even late 2000 so it was *probably* before then. It'd be a good question to ask Chester - when he actually wrote it. Anyway Bucket of Weenies played a studio version of it in 2005/2006 when they played live. Then we found out it was gonna be on Chester's solo CD. They released a REMIX to the Underworld: Evolution soundtrack. That's the remix on there, like I said. The one on Chester's album is a studio version. I wouldn't call it the original since it was probably originally acoustic but the one on the DBS CD is the "rock" studio version - the final *real* version of The Morning After.
  8. Hopefully we get some good information instead of the usual nonsense (Mike excluded) that the LPU chats give. Did we get 1 single piece of info we didn't know from the Phoenix chat? Come on Brad, we're hoping the best for this one.

All four of those were played as Dead By Sunrise.

    DBS Updates

See you there. I'll go to this show and tape it
  11. I was gonna ask if Brad will use the ebow live on the intro but then I remembered he just uses the guitar live, lol. Intro is epic. Can't wait to see this shit live in Europe...a new song hell yeah.
  12. Just listened for the first time. Instrumental is cool...I love the intro. There's fucking Phoenix in this shit!!! Some bass in a Linkin Park song!! Awesome. Vocals are pretty...ehhh. It's very...pop. Bridge is alright. Song is decent. It's very similar to What I've Done, it's almost like What I've Done part 2. No way Chester can nail this live. It's gonna be hard to perform this live in my opinion. Song is alright.
  13. I'm obviously the only person not to think that it'd be out. http://forums.linkinpark.com/showthread.ph...1328&page=5
  14. Perhaps I should have been more specific rather than saying just the band. Of course Mike doesn't put the songs up himself; everything's through their management/label/etc. I didn't think anyone would honestly think I would blame the band themselves for not uploading a song or something, lol. Yep, you're right. I guess that's where assuming gets you. Once again I assume something and screw myself because of it.
  15. I guess you're right. I haven't listened to any clips of the song or anything...I was just pretty excited for it to come out. All other LP releases have been at 12am that I've seen on iTunes so I guess I assumed this one would be as well. That's where assuming gets you I guess.
  16. Awesome. Updated the link in the first post. Thanks BlackChester Now everyone that didn't grab it can get it.
  17. I'm not hating on anyone but if they'd just tell us one set of information that'd be nice...we're getting a runaround / a new set of information from every person that says something.
  18. Linkin Park has really fucked up the release of this song, seriously. In all seriousness, the release of this is an absolute joke. I'm not mad about anything since I'm on such a 10 Years high at the moment, but it's just a very very weird situation going on right now regarding the release of New Divide. The song is supposed to go on iTunes on 5.18. That would mean 12:00am like all other iTunes releases, right? Nope, not when you're Linkin Park. The standard doesn't apply then. Let's build up the anticipation just to let everyone down at 12:00am and tell them it's not coming out until another 14 hours when everyone's not expecting it. Awesome. Well at least we'll have a video to check out, right? Nope. After all the picture posts on TwitPic and all that fun and jolly business as well as discussion about a video, we won't be getting a video today either. Who the hell knows when that's coming out but it's not today according to the latest post on the LPU Twitter. "lpunderground - to clear things up, the music video for "new divide" does NOT come out tomorrow, just the song. i'm not sure when it will go live on itunes." So in recap, noone really knows when it will go on iTunes. We've heard 8am EST from Chester, we've heard 3:45pm EST from some people and we've heard after 3:45pm EST from others. We also have no idea when the video will come out - all we know is it's coming out SOMETIME. You would think the official Linkin Park fanclub would know when the only song from the band from 2009 is coming out. Or you'd think *someone* would let the fans know when the video is coming out. Once again, the fans are left in the dust. What else is new? I'm not mad or disappointed at all, it's just that this is turning into quite a clusterfuck of a release that was hyped like hell.
  19. Already missed 18 days this semester, LOL. Uhhh...woops!? Missing Wednesday for 10 Years as well. Going 4 hours to see them then come back and I have finals the next morning - FACK, lol. LOL. Exactly how I feel man. What in the fuck kind of time is 8am EST? First time I've ever seen a release *not* at 12am on iTunes. Daaaaaaaamn.
  20. 8am is a terrible time, lol. That's when we all start school, ugh. Hmmmmmmmmm.
  21. 12:00am EST has come and passed. Nothing on iTunes yet. Where has New Divide gone? Anyone see any signs of it yet? Update: Thanks to fellow LPL'er jesus, we have recieved a link to some more information on New Divide with a longer vocal clip. Check out the info and the clip here: http://www.digirama.co.nz/AlbumDetails.aspx?MediaID=1159068 According to that info, the song is 4 minutes and 29 seconds. Longer than the average LP song.
  22. Ah damn. This is why I like to host files on my own server (the LPLive one). I'll see what I can about a re-up for you all. Damnit things like this are just a pain in the ass, lol. Thanks for letting me know about it.
  23. That's absolutely right. We'll see what happens. I hope it's in an hour.
  24. Merged the topics together since it's all relative info. iTunes usually posts stuff at 12:00am but I'm not sure if LP told them to wait and post it at 3:45. Hmm.
