  1. From Yahoo Music (EDIT: Yahoo has just removed the article!) and MikeShinodaClan: "There has been plenty of reportage over the past few months about Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington joining Stone Temple Pilots, but little written about how his main band remains in full swing — on not just one album project, but two. “While I was working with Stone Temple Pilots on their new EP there were some times I was actually recording with Linkin Park the same day,” Bennington told Yahoo! Music. “Writing for both was crazy, but it was fun, too, because both bands have their own distinct character.” Linkin Park have already finished one song for their new album and they’ll be releasing it soon, Bennington says. The track features a yet-unnamed special guest. On August 10 and 11, Linkin Park will play the Summer Sonic Festival in Chiba and Osaka Japan, respectively. They will remain in Asia until their August 15 show in Hong Kong. Then it’s back to Los Angeles to continue working on the new album and the soundtrack to the film Mall, which is being directed by Linkin Park keyboardist Joseph Hahn. The film stars Vincent D’Onofrio, Gina Gershon, Peter Stormage, James Frecheville, and Cameron Monaghan, and is based on the Eric Bogosian novel about five unhappy suburbanites who become inextricably entwined one night when Frecheville goes on a shooting spree in a shopping mall. Hahn has started shooting the film, but there is no scheduled release date. Linkin Park are creating the soundtrack with help from Deadsy drummer Alec Püre. While a few songs will feature Bennington’s recognizable vocals, much of the material is new territory for Linkin Park. “There’s a different mindset going into scoring a movie than making a record because you’re trying to capture the scene without having the music distract you from what you’re looking at,” Bennington said. “We’re trying to capture the emotional quality of the film so there’s a lack of structure and there aren’t very many parts when compared to radio songs. Also, there are different characters in the movie that require different threads of sounds. So there’s a lot of cool elements we’re working with.” In early August, Bennington finished recording vocals for a five-song Stone Temple Pilots EP that will come out in the fall. There is no scheduled release date for the follow-up to Linkin Park’s 2012 album Living Things. But Bennington insists that regardless of how much fun he has with STP, Linkin Park will remain his main gig. “I love Stone Temple Pilots, but I’m in love with Linkin Park and that’s a great position to be in,” he said." This is likely what Mike was referring to in his interview with the Huffington Post recently, saying, "Other than the game (Recharge), which we're very excited about, we're working on a new album, we're about to go on a tour in Asia, and I can't give you too many details about what we have going on, but I think in the next month, we have something very exciting for fans and I'm only allowed to pique your interest. That's all I'm allowed to say. I promise something very exciting for Linkin Park fans in the next month." Who's excited?
  2. They rehearsed Set A on July 30. Remember the picture Digby tweeted? I bet we'll get that at the headlining shows, so the last 4 shows of the tour. Summer Sonic I think both shows will get the same setlist - the one SSMF got. It's interesting all 3 years LP played Summer Sonic they will be years the band plays the same setlist at each show. 2006, 2009, 2013. If they played it in like 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011 or 2012, they'd each have different setlists lol
  3. If it's broadcasting on the 11th and is from Tokyo, it's going to be Muse.
  4. I think they'll use the same setlist(s) they were using in Australia. Rotate between this Festival Set B thing they had at SSMF, a Festival Set A, and a headline Set A. I don't think they'll play POWERLESS or any other LIVING THINGS songs. In my opinion, they would have debuted it/them at SSMF if that were the case.
  5. The first show of Linkin Park's Asia Tour takes the band to Tokyo, where they will play Summer Sonic on the 10th. LP is in for both Summer Sonic shows, meaning they'll also play on the 11th in Osaka. This time, they'll be playing just before Metallica, but no worries, they'll get a full set as they usually do when they open for Metallica. Linkin Park's first appearances at Summer Sonic came in 2006, when they took a break from the studio during the Minutes To Midnight sessions to play four shows in Japan - a headlining show at Tokyo's Zepp (show page here) (which is what Muse is doing along with their Summer Sonic shows), Summer Sonic in Osaka (show page here) and Tokyo (show page here), and Summer Sonic After in Sendai (show page here). Finally, three years after the show, we tracked this down with the help of our friend Felipe: The 2006 shows are regarded among the fans as having one of the best setlists the band has ever played, with 'Reading My Eyes' making its live debut, 'QWERTY' kicking ass at four shows in a show, 'Breaking The Habit' closing the set, and many other changes. LP returned to Summer Sonic in 2009 on their short Summer Tour. These two shows, Tokyo (show page here) and Osaka (show page here), featured Dead By Sunrise playing their three song encore. Linkin Park's last appearance in Japan came at the end of the A Thousand Suns World Tour in September 2011, where they played two nights in Tokyo (with the 5th LPU Summit being held),, one night apiece in Yokohama, Nagoya and Osaka, and a special A Thousand Horizons event in Tokyo. Along with this show, there will be two Linkin Park-related events on August 9th. First, the band will appear at the BAPE Store in Shibuya. Here is the LPU announcement on it: "To celebrate Linkin Park's collaboration with BAPE, the band will be appearing at BAPE STORE SHABUYA on Friday August, 9th at 7pm. This very exclusive signing event is first come, first served for customers who purchase the A BATHING APE x LINKIN PARK T-shirt." The second event is the LPU Meetup at the Hard Rock in Tokyo later that day. The last Linkin Park show, the Sunset Strip Music Festival on August 3rd (show page here), featured a very similar setlist to what the band played at the Melbourne, Australia Soundwave show in March (show page here). 'A Place For My Head' and 'Papercut' opened the show, with 'Bleed It Out' (w/ the 'Reading My Eyes' bridge), 'Faint', and 'One Step Closer' closing the show. Will the band continue to use this setlist on the Asia Tour? Or will they change it up and play something different? Will any other songs off of LIVING THINGS debut? The full Summer Sonic lineup can be found here. LP will play before Metallica and after Fall Out Boy, Volbeat, Maximum The Hormone, One Ok Rock, and Volbeat. After this show, the band plays Osaka on the 11th before heading to the Manila, Hong Kong, Taipei and Kuala Lumpur to close out the short six show tour. SETLIST: 01. A Place For My Head (Long Intro; Ext. Outro) 02. Papercut 03. Given Up (Ext. Outro w/ Extra Note) 04. New Divide 05. With You (2012 Ext. Intro; Ext. Scratch Outro) 06. Somewhere I Belong (2012 Intro) 07. LIES GREED MISERY 08. Points Of Authority 09. Waiting For The End (Apaches Intro w/ 'UNTIL IT BREAKS' v2; Wall of Noise Outro) 10. Breaking The Habit 11. CASTLE OF GLASS 12. LOATR/SOTD/Iridescent (Ballad Medley) 13. LOST IN THE ECHO 14. Numb (Outro 'Numb/Encore' Lyrics Tease (Mike/Chester)) 15. What I've Done 16. BURN IT DOWN 17. In The End 18. 8. April 1, 2003 / LPTV Episode 9 Check out LPTV Episode 9, and "Somewhere I Belong" live from the Wiltern show on March 24 now on the METEORA Player. Let us know what you think on the board. News article: http://web.archive.org/web/20030421202104/...e.php/?start=13 Meteora player (with no media in it): http://web.archive.org/web/20030402135400/...lptv/player.php Anyone have any info on this? Or do you think they made a mistake and put up SIB from Nottingham as audio? If it's a video it probably really is the Wiltern show. Weird how we never knew about this.
  9. We should get more Japanese audience recordings. I hope they keep playing the SSMF setlist if that's the case. APFMH/Papercut oh man.
  10. If you could upload the Hove 2011 one I would be grateful for sure. I remember it was taken down and I was pretty disappointed. Great video. Someday we should make a YouTube playlist of all this stuff, or if it gets banned I guess then maybe a DVD we share on the forums haha I have never even seen some of this stuff, like LFY from Arras.
  11. Yeah exactly, I'm sure we could get 10,000 in a month if we got all the fansites to work on it.
  12. Adding this to 5.0 today. The "Debuts" section will be complete once I get all this in. I've got probably half of it done. I'm not putting anything for Hybrid Theory songs in 2000 except for By Myself. I stuck it as a note on the Springfield show that it debuted sometime between St. Louis and Springfield.
  13. http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/warn...i-peppers-tours Look what the RHCP fans have done. They said they need 5,000 signatures. I wonder if they have contacted WBR and WBR said they'd do it with 5k signatures, or if they just set it at 5k. I'm going to ask them about it.
  14. Even in the worst case scenario we will probably get the Muse webcast and that's just epic lol. Bellamy FTW.
  15. In a break from the live world of Linkin Park for just a second, Lorenzo keeps doing things big (like his predecessor Adam) and has scheduled an LPU Meetup event in Tokyo! The LPU Meetups event in Los Angeles was very successful and as a result, we'll be covering future LPU Meetup events on LPLive. Our friends LPFanCorner and Wretches&Kings will also be covering the Meetups so we encourage you to visit their sites as well! Like the Los Angeles Meetup, this event will be the night before Linkin Park plays Summer Sonic in Tokyo. The newest LPU email reads: "LPU Meetups: Tokyo / Hard Rock Cafe + Linkin Park Press Conference LPU HQ and Hard Rock Cafe are happy to announce LPU Meetups: Tokyo. As part of this LPU Meetups event, you will also have a chance to view the official press conference as we announce the release of The Linkin Park Signature Series: Edition 31 T-shirt by Hard Rock Cafe. Mike and Chester will be making a special appearance during the press conference. Due to time restraint we will not be holding a Meet & Greet with the band members. The Linkin Park Signature Series: Edition 31 T-shirts will be available for purchase at the Hard Rock shop during the event. 15% of the t-shirt’s proceeds benefit Music for Relief and its Power the World initiative. EVENT DETAILS: Due to space we will only be able to accommodate the first 80 people that RSVP and arrive no later than 12PM NOON local Tokyo time. We apologies in advance for any inconvenience. You may RSVP by clicking HERE. Your cost for attending will be ¥1470 (15 US Dollars). The Hard Rock Cafe will be serving a pre-fix menu. You may choose from selected items. This cost will cover the food and non-alcoholic drinks. DATE: Friday, August 9th 2013 TIME: The event check-in will start promptly at 12PM NOON local Tokyo time. Please be on time, we can only accommodate the first 80 people. LOCATION: Hard Rock Cafe Tokyo Roppongi 5-4-20 Roppongi, Minato-ku Tokyo 106-0032 Japan" The email adds: "Thank you for attending the LPU Meetup event in Los Angeles. LPU members packed the house at the Hard Rock Cafe Hollywood and a few lucky raffle winners went home with some prizes, including a Linkin Park Signature Series: Edition 31 T-shirt by Hard Rock Cafe and M&G passes to SSMF. Check out the photos here. We are happy to continue this initiative with many more cities to be announced soon!" We will be following the LPU Meetups across the globe with the Twitter hashtag #LPUMeetup
  16. That's very possible lol. I run across so much shit I'm sure I forgot it. I saw something similar from a post you made last week and one you made on LPA in like 2004 LOL, I was like hell yeah looks like something I would do
  17. It's likely something fucked up during the song. That is a REALLY interesting find because they usually didn't do huge edits like these back in 2007 as far as we know. Great find, wow. Is there a YouTube video we can compare it to? I can always ask Pooch but he legit might not remember since it was PR07 and so long ago. Sometimes they fix really silly stuff. This is the best example I have of that:
  18. Good luck because we've been looking for years and I have no idea how we could even begin to find the taper.
  19. I don't know if on the 11th they'll show Tokyo or show Osaka, or show a mix of both. They might not show LP at all, they might show a few LP songs, or they might show the entire LP set. I would ASSUME they will on the 11th show the full Osaka show since Metallica is playing that day, but we don't know for sure. Good find.
  20. It changes but this is it right now: Papercut Across The Line (how the fuck did this not make the album) A Place For My Head Blackout When They Come For Me Breaking The Habit From The Inside QWERTY live 2006 Figure.09 Don't Stay
  21. idk about Paris. Toronto 04 yes a song is on YouTube I think. San Diego 04 too. Philly 03 exists. Wantagh 2001 might be talking about the By Myself clip on Hybrid Odyssey. Anaheim 2005 yes. Berlin 2007 yes. Halo 3 yes. Buenos Aires yes. I don't know anything about the rest. Sorry I can't be much more help.
  22. This would be a really great show for a DSP....
  23. http://lplive.net/setlistssongs/dbsofficia...eleasedlive.php Before we move this to 5.0 we need to make sure all the info in this thread matches up properly to this page.
