  1. Is that the first show post-ATS to feature just one song from the album?
  2. Rehearsals are over and ended yesterday. They rehearsed for 3 days. They will not rehearse today. I say that's a good assumption with LOST IN THE ECHO opening and OSC closing. I'd guess the same. Probably not a huge change in the setlist though. I think the encore will still be Set A's encore. I don't think any new LT songs will be played. But I do think it's possible they'll do one exclusive song for this show, like Step Up. RME over BIO is a nice touch.
  3. I'd be a huge fan of their selection if they didn't play those two singles from ATS just because they are singles, and they played something like Blackout and WTCFM, or BITS and WTCFM, or something. Those 3 songs are so good to me and it's sad BITS never made it past 2011.
  4. On August 3rd, Linkin Park will be returning to the stage to play their first full show since March, when they ended their LIVING THINGS Australia & New Zealand Tour. This will be the first show out of seven for the band this month, with the next six to come in Asia for the LIVING THINGS Asian Tour. Those shows kick off on the 10th and end on the 19th. To prepare for this show, the band played an eight song rehearsal set for a KROQ winner on August 1st. Along with playing eight singles, the band put 'Reading My Eyes' into the bridge of 'Bleed It Out' for the first time since 2011 (25.06.2011 München is the last one we found). In our opinion, that was one of the best 'Bleed It Out' bridges that has been played, featuring part of 'Reading My Eyes', a drum solo and the epic 'A Place For My Head' portion all in one! Not bad! As we mentioned in our previous preshow post about the KROQ rehearsal, the band rehearsed for three days for Sunset Strip Music Festival (July 30, 31 and August 1). This likely is too short of a period of time to work up a new song from 'LIVING THINGS', but you never know. 'LIVING THINGS' stands as the first Linkin Park album to have this many songs left off of the live setlists. 'I'LL BE GONE', 'ROADS UNTRAVELED', 'SKIN TO BONE', 'UNTIL IT BREAKS' (in full), and 'POWERLESS' have all not been played live at this point. With a new album being worked on, it's possible that these seven shows will be the last shows on the LIVING THINGS World Tour. We have heard Mike say he wanted the band to play 'UNTIL IT BREAKS' and Chester say that he wanted the band to play 'I'LL BE GONE', but it's possible that these five songs won't be attempted live. Previously, all songs from Hybrid Theory, Meteora, Minutes To Midnight and A Thousand Suns were played live at some point with the exception of just one song - 'Robot Boy'. This show also brings up probably the best chance we ever have of the band reviving a very old song, due to LP playing so many shows on Sunset Strip when they were a younger band. 'And One' was last played in 2002, 'Step Up' was last played in 2004 (last played in FULL in 2002), 'Reading My Eyes' was last played in 2008 (it hasn't ever been played in the USA under the name Linkin Park), and 'High Voltage' was last played in 2001. Will Linkin Park bring out an old song for SSMF? Or will they use the 'Reading My Eyes' bridge to 'Bleed It Out' as their throwback portion of the setlist? Linkin Park will be playing the West Stage from 9:30pm-11:00pm. Playing before them will be AWOLNATION, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Finch and Street Drum Corps. As far as other parts of the festival go, Orgy mentioned that they will have a very special guest join them during their set. It's not likely, but Chester could appear since he sang 'Fiction (Dreams In Digital)' with them in 2004. What is likely, though, is Chester joining Julien-K for their set if the LPU M&G doesn't interfere with it. They could play a Dead By Sunrise song or he could just join them for a Julien-K song or two. Who's going to the show? There will be an LPU M&G as usual at this show - did anyone get lucky enough to win their way in? And what do you think - will Linkin Park debut another song off of LIVING THINGS? Will they play an oldschool song? For this setlist, we have seen the picture that they have rehearsed Set A again (opening with 'TINFOIL'/'Faint' and closing with 'Bleed It Out'). Will they keep the standard Set A or will they change something? The full 2013 tour schedule can be found here, as well as past setlists and upcoming tour dates. SETLIST: 01. A Place For My Head (Long Intro; Ext. Outro) 02. Papercut 03. Given Up (Ext. Outro w/ Extra Note) 04. New Divide 05. With You (2012 Ext. Intro; Ext. Scratch Outro) 06. Somewhere I Belong (2012 Intro) 07. LIES GREED MISERY 08. Points Of Authority 09. Waiting For The End (Apaches Intro w/ 'UNTIL IT BREAKS' v20; Wall of Noise Outro) 10. Breaking The Habit 11. CASTLE OF GLASS 12. LOST IN THE ECHO 13. Numb (Outro 'Numb/Encore' Lyrics Tease (Mike/Chester)) 14. What I've Done 15. BURN IT DOWN 16. In The End 17. Bleed It Out (Ext. Huge thanks to KTLA for the partial stream, Doug for the comedy and Lorenzo for stepping in BIG time and giving the rest of the setlist via Twitter for the fanbase!
  5. The only thing different might be RME over BIO. And the normal Set A lol. Still the worst encore I think they've ever had.
  6. They didn't ask the winner to make the full setlist, guys. They just took a request for one song. If it was me, I'd ask for Reading My Eyes, followed by Blackout and then When They Come For Me. Then A Place For My Head. I would assume they'd tell me no on all of the first 3, but I know they can and will do A Place For My Head, haha. You know the winner is a casual fan when he requests BTH, which has been played at every single show from Oct 2003-now except for a few in 2011. Ouch. Interesting set but I guess it's no surprise it was all singles. I wonder if the new BURN IT DOWN is any good. I hope the only SSMF surprise isn't RME over BIO. That'd be a nice touch.........if they played And One as well! HA.
  7. My assumption is that it will be about 6 songs as well, but they only have been rehearsing for a few days and they might run through the full set again. No idea on the time. I'm sure some crew members will post pictures, etc when they get going.
  8. Today, Linkin Park will be performing in front of fans for the first time since March, when they ended their Australia & New Zealand Tour for LIVING THINGS by performing at Perth's Soundwave Festival. The band recently just began rehearsing for the upcoming Sunset Strip Music Festival show on August 3rd as well as their six show tour of Asia that follows later this month. We will cover each of those shows as always. The band has been rehearsing for just a few days now (according to tweets by both the band and the crew), but there is already hope and a possibility that they might change something up for the SSMF show. Jim Digby, the tour manager, posted a picture of the band's rehearsal schedule for July 30th. When we commented and said that "Set A is back", he replied with "AH...you might be mistaken to assume that this set A is the same set A you refer to obi-wan, it's may be hierarchical nomenclature." So we will see! Anyway for this rehearsal, KROQ is sending one winner and ten of his friends to a private rehearsal by the band. This was a contest and was announced about a month ago. Janet Ramos on Twitter was listening to KROQ and found out the lucky winner was a man by the name of Jonathan from Rancho Cucamonga. We have absolutely no idea if LP will play a full set today for fans to rehearse for SSMF or if they will just run through a few songs. We are pretty certain this will take place at Third Encore as usual, the band's rehearsal spot. Twitter searches and perhaps a few tweets from the crew will probably be our only way of finding out info about this rehearsal. The band's first full show is on August 3rd, and the Asia leg begins on August 10th in Tokyo. For the full 2013 tour schedule including upcoming shows and more, click here. SETLIST: 01. LOST IN THE ECHO (2012 Intro) 02. Breaking The Habit 03. What I've Done 04. BURN IT DOWN 05. In The End 07. Bleed It Out (w/ 'Reading My Eyes' bridge, Ext. Outro) 08. Faint (Ext. Outro) 09. One Step Closer (Ext. Outro) Setlist pictures here and here. KROQ event review here. - 'Breaking The Habit' replaced 'Numb' in the setlist due to the band taking a request from the winner of the rehearsal. - 'Bleed It Out' featured the 'Reading My Eyes' bridge for the first time since 2011. - There was a comment on Instagram that 'BURN IT DOWN' was possibly played as a "reggae version".
  9. Wow you found some EPIC stuff. Awesome job. Can't believe you are finding this much!! I can confirm those Adema dates are without LP. I researched that back in like 2007 pretty extensively. We have the LP dates right. Adema did more shows than LP on that tour. If I recall correctly the same thing happened in fall 2003 in Europe, more Adema shows than LP shows. They did a few solo headlining shows on that run too when they were opening for LP.
  10. Pittsburgh it is! Thanks for the find. We'll get on it and get it added.
  11. The LEE Interlude and Short Interlude are on the other setlist you found so I believe it's legit. It also has been around for a very long time (well over 8~ years as far as I know). But it's the same setlist so I think it's probably from an earlier time - on the Street Soldiers Tour perhaps. http://lplive.net/shows/20010126.php or something. Maybe if you find the source we can find out what show it's from. Surely it came with some pictures or something.
  12. Wow a Conan ticket! And another old setlist. Awesome. Where did you find that setlist? I found one for an early 2001 show, I think on the Street Soldiers Tour but it's in bad quality.
  13. Someone should ask. Mike confirmed their first tour though was the Union Underground Tour in 2000, so it's likely they didn't do THAT many Hybrid Theory shows outside of the southwest.
  14. What in the world does the national tour bit refer to? I guess that's something we should ask Mike over Twitter.
  15. Where did Mike say they only played five Xero shows? They really only did this many? I was under the assumption Xero played quite a lot of shows in LA in 1997 and 1998. Am I wrong?
  16. Email me exactly what it all was again and I'll take another look for you.
  17. Nothing has happened with that stuff yet? I was under the impression was it taken care of. Please email me. mark at lplive.net.
  18. If you want us to take over the operation, our staff will gladly do it. We can split it multiple ways and if anyone wants to participate and chip in, you're more than welcome to. You'll receive it ASAP when it gets shared with our staff, and we'll release all of it over the course of 1-2~ months here on LPLive. This is very relevant to LPL like Astat said and we'd love to do it. This is one of those opportunities we don't need to pass up. Great job finding his list. Let's make this happen What do you all think?
  19. We didn't say US only because it's not US only.
  20. As a part of the LP fansite / LPU collaboration going on, we have a pair of tickets to the Sunset Strip Music Festival on August 3rd to give away! Anyone who is wanting to see Linkin Park completely free should read below and you can win yourself two tickets! How do you win, you ask? In a throwback to the oldschool days of the band, we have six pre-2002 questions that you must answer correctly. Once you get all six answers, email us and we will select a winner. All answers are hidden on the show pages here on the site! Rules: - Use your knowledge and/or LPLive to find the answers to the six questions below. - Email your answers with your LPLive username to giveaway@lplive.net by 11:59pm EST on Saturday, July 27th, 2013. - You must be at least 18 years old or have a guardian attend the show with you. - LPLive staff is not eligible to enter. Questions: 01. What show did Chester get bit in the ass by a poisonous spider? 02. Which show did Chester, Phoenix, and Brad dress up as 80's rock stars at? 03. Name the show where Brad broke his foot. 04. When/where is the last known time that 'And One' was performed live? 05. In what city was Linkin Park's first TV performance? 06. Who was playing bass on tour in place of Phoenix right before he returned to the band permanently? Good luck! EDIT: And the winner is Casey M. Congratulations and have fun at the show!
  21. Thanks. The only difference in Esaul ht.com and Esaul 2 track is the beginning of the 2nd verse. I guess Shinoda re-recorded the entire verse so there is one extra line in the 2 track that's not in the ht.com one. Some of your lyrics are wrong in those that you posted, like: "We'll both be crushed when it all falls apart" is "We're gonna be crushed when it all falls apart." So there are 4 unique Esaul versions: 9 track Esaul: "Stay away" bridge 2 track Esaul: "Go away bridge" HT.com Esaul: "Go away bridge", but missing the line "The second it starts" (or "AND the second it starts") from the first line of verse 2. This line is included in the 2 track. Otherwise the 2 track and HT.com one are the same. Very likely the entire 2nd verse is re-recorded. LPU Esaul:: "Aztec moon" Now I need to figure out By Myself and I guess POA.
  22. A few questions as I am sorting my collection: Is the Esaul from HT.com unique? Or is it the same as the one on the 9 track? 9 track Esaul is "Stay away" bridge, 2 track Esaul is "Go away bridge", LPU one of course is unique (Aztec moon). Is the POA from HT.com unique? If not, what version is it? 6 track is "Stop the talk show" intro, is this the one on HT.com? 8 track is normal intro, "Sink or swim" bridge 9 track sounds the exact same as 8 track to me We need to label these demos in the main thread to make it a little easier. Like "Stop the talk show" etc. In our new demo guide we will cover all of this.
  23. I have all of these files, including the 3:27 Kill The Flies. I sent it to Jonas just now. There is just about 10 seconds of silence at the end. Same song. Not multiple versions.
  24. If anyone saw our Twitter account late last night (July 23rd), you would have noticed a few interactions between Mike and our account. The topic we were discussing is when Chester joined Linkin Park. With Sunset Music Festival coming up, this seems like an appropriate time to tackle the date! MS: That photo was from 1997 or 1998 BTW LPL: Chester joined in 1999 BTW MS: I might be mistaken, then. but I thought the Brad photo was about 1998. If you're dying to know, I can ask my friend who took it! LPL: the LPA has a similar photo with Chester in it which seems to be from the same day, more likely 1999 then. MS: I'm pretty sure he joined earlier than 1999. I graduated from college in 98, and he was in the band by then. LPL: Chester consistently mentions his 23rd birthday (March 1999) and you claim that in older interviews too. Ask Chester about it. MS: Contrary to popular belief, none of us actually know what we're talking about. FYI Chester has consistently said that he joined Linkin Park on his 23rd birthday (example here and a more detailed example here), which would be in March of 1999. However, the band and/or Mike has stated a few times that it was earlier than that. Even on the 2011 tour, the Linkin Park shirts at the merch booth had the date 1998 on them. On the LP Underground albums, there are demos with Chester having the date of 1998. It is possible that these dates are incorrect, but they are on official releases by the band. 'Slip' (1998 Unreleased Hybrid Theory Demo) [LPU 11] 'Blue' (1998 Unreleased Hybrid Theory Demo) [LPU 11] 'So Far Away' (Unreleased 1998) [LPU 12] So we are still unsure if Chester joined the band in 1998 or 1999. Xero was still playing in 1997, and there is a rumored Xero date for December 1998 (show page here), but it's possible that Xero date is incorrect even though it came from a web archive. Chester claims he joined in 1999, though. What do you think - which date is right? We ended with telling Mike to ask his friend the date of the black and white picture with Brad: LPL: @mikeshinoda ask your friend for the date of the b&w picture with Brad/Chester, make it a challenge to uncover the truth until #SSMF EDIT: After we posted this thread, Mike replied and said: MS: "It's hard to remember, but I'll get to the bottom of it. I'll bet that 1999 is correct though!"
  25. Go Astat go. Pick a badass song man
