Stone Temple Pilots Playing Fort Myers, FL
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Stone Temple Pilots
Wow sweet. An STP show near me already. I'll be at this. Wonder if they are headlining or if Jane's is. -
From StoneTemplePilots.com: "Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington will be apart of this years Rockwave Fest in Ft Meyers, FL! The show is Saturday, September 21, 2013 at JetBlue Park and features Janes Addiction, Filter, Anberlin and more! Tickets go on sale July 19th at 10am EST." This will be the first eastern USA show for STP w/ Chester. Looks like more tour dates are slowly popping up. Who's going?

MK 2008 DSP and LIT audio are definitely not anything close to a holy grail lol. Doesn't the Ostrick stuff come also with a 30 minute Hybrid Theory performance at a local LA venue?
-
Several of the WBR contests to fly to see LP in Japan are for the Tokyo Summer Sonic show. I don't think they'll do a solo show there. It's almost too late to add one. What a disappointingly short tour.

http://mikeshinodaclan.com/2013/07/linkin-...w-with-chester/ Look at that new shirt. No other countries listed. And I know official tour shirts are wrong sometimes, like I think the 2009 one missed Portugal on it, but this might be the confirmation that the band isn't adding anything else to the tour.

Wow that's definitely My December. Maybe it's a demo of it or something. Or just a remix for the live intro. That would be interesting to find out. That's not the same intro from early 2001 I was talking about, at Kings College. I like that one too.
-
If it's not too much trouble, can you post a link to either a video or audio of each one of these intros? I know the RAR one and the Milan one of course but I don't know the My Decemberish Hip Hop intro. Was that the one they used in 2000 when APFMH opened sometimes? I think maybe Kings College had it too?
-
Yep all it takes to say both Dallas and Houston is have one song from Dallas with 1-2 seconds of it replaced with a part from Houston. Like Pushing Me Away (Piano Version) from 2006. It's safe to say they are from both shows in some form.

Is everyone happy with the fact they are taking less time between albums? I personally would rather have more touring and less albums, which is the opposite of what the band is doing, but I think my opinion is reflected in how I feel about LIVING THINGS. The MTM cycle was great, with THREE USA tours. However, with ATS and LT, there was just one USA tour per album. Ouch. I'd rather travel around and see them live more often, playing whatever, than see them tour here once every year and a half or so.

On the new site version I have all the sources for 2013 listed. He filmed 3 yes. Both arena shows in Australia and one festival. I don't remember the exact shows but I do have it listed correctly, which is why I only need 2012 for now in this thread. Is this everything? Is there anything else for 2012, specifically for Europe? For Carson, there is a version from DirecTV that was shown with Inside LIVING THINGS as well as a Honda Civic Tour recap which featured footage from the LPU Summit in Camden as well as LPTV stuff from the first few shows. I haven't seen a rip of that online anywhere.

[DL] 24.10.2003 Tokyo, JP (Night 1 of 3) (FLAC)

I had the exact same version as you Joe. The one transferred by Fifek. He must have labeled it wrong because it's the Source 2 audio (Nothing to Loose). lol @ the Japanese. Should be Nothing to Lose, not Nothing to Loose. I wonder if Chesterchaz will upload his rip for us so we can compare them. They probably are almost identical though. But yes Fifek's name is wrong, just disregard it and relabel it as the Nothing to Loose source. -

I thought the FTI book mentioning it had a clue it was 2003. Maybe I am wrong. And no it wasn't a festival in 2003, they just sold out 2 nights and added a third I believe. Initially I believe the announcement was just for 2. -
Chester: 'Papercut' is the identity of Linkin Park
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Newswire
And he hates Runaway. I think he's the main reason it was dropped after Europe in 2012. He loves Papercut, BTH, FTI, APFMH. Not sure what else. Probably NMS. I think he said at one time he thinks Don't Stay is good. An interview around the time of the Milton Keynes 2008 show is where I believe I saw that. -
Do you think LIVING THINGS was a letdown coming after A Thousand Suns? I feel like the frustration for some LP fans with LT is that it came after LP's concept album ATS, which after a while grew significantly on people. With LT, I feel like the band didn't spend nearly enough time on the songs, leaving some to feel really incomplete. Imagine a longer and stronger VICTIMIZED or SKIN TO BONE, both of which are shorter than average songs (unless you're talking about The Beatles). Why did Rick Rubin allow the band to get away with such short, undeveloped songs? On my iTunes, I'LL BE GONE has 6 plays in the last year. TINFOIL has 58. On A Thousand Suns, Blackout has 124 since 2010 and When They Come For Me has 116. Why is that? I like ATS much more than LT, but I do like POWERLESS a lot. The rest of the record, besides CASTLE OF GLASS and maybe IN MY REMAINS, I feel is a letdown. I thought BURN IT DOWN was much weaker than The Catalyst as a lead single and I felt like ROADS UNTRAVELED, SKIN TO BONE and UNTIL IT BREAKS all in a row was a really weak run of songs. LOST IN THE ECHO to me seems like a weak attempt to sound like they did on Meteora, with combining some electronic New Divide elements. A Thousand Suns took quite a while for me to "get" and to appreciate but I absolutely love the album start-to-finish now, even Robot Boy (my least favorite song). Waiting For The End, Blackout, and Wretches & Kings in a row is fucking great and the best 1-2-3 punch in the middle of an album for Linkin Park since Figure.09, Breaking The Habit, and From The Inside in my opinion. I "get" A Thousand Suns, even though it took a very long time, and I think it's an incredible album that took a LOT of effort, time and work for the band to perfect. LIVING THINGS I feel like took almost no time and the work that the band put into previous albums isn't shown on it at all. Outside of a few songs mentioned above, the record feels short, incomplete and almost demo-ish to me. Does anyone else feel this way?

Interesting. I haven't seen it anywhere for download and I never had it, but that doesn't mean anything haha. I wonder who all had it... -
Chester: 'Papercut' is the identity of Linkin Park

Ask Shinoda. Haha kidding. Not sure. The dates from back then are all confusing to us since the band claims it happened at different times. What did Chester say at the Club Nokia show when he gave his speech? -
I noticed the current version of the site is missing a lot of sources, like for Moscow. I went to look and see what was up with Moscow and St. Petersburg but we don't have any info on them. Can someone compile the sources here for me? I will get them added to the new site version we are working on now. I think we are missing all sorts of stuff from 2012. For 2013 I have everything listed in the new version of the site. Examples: http://lp-bits.com/details.php?id=292 and http://lplive.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=8684 On LP Bits it says that's a Source 6 from Moscow. Are there really that many sources? And I also saw I THINK it was that same Moscow source on DIME with the SBD Audio but it is gone now (I assume it was banned). If you don't feel like doing them in this format: Source 1: Taper: Time: Format: Comments: then just post links to the sources and I can do that I guess.

Yep give it time to download and someone will get an alternate download up soon I'm sure. If there's not one in a few days I'll upload it for you. Thanks for this. I didn't have this source - only had 2 (which wasn't that enjoyable due to the screaming) and the video rip. -
Chester: 'Papercut' is the identity of Linkin Park

I knew there was something special about Papercut haha. My favorite song too. Cool interview - lots of good info here. -
Back in October 2003, Linkin Park headlined Toyko's Nippon Budokan for THREE shows in a row, which is still the only time they have performed a three night stand at a venue in the band's history. And this miiiiight be the tour stop where Mike passed out drunk and lost the rest of the band. Sounds like a fun time in Tokyo! Plus, show 2 featured 'My December' and show 3 got it too, as well as 'Nobody's Listening'. Felipe and Bartek have posted Source 4 of show number 1 (show page here) on DIME for your enjoyment. The more common source from this show is Source 2 (Sylph Records), which has some audible screaming throughout it. With this download, they are also bringing awareness to the fact that many sources from years ago are still missing. They are looking for (and we are too) Source 3, the Rozy Project FLAC audio. There's also a Yokohama 2003 source missing. Highlights from this show include a very passionate Japanese crowd, a new guitar intro to 'Numb' (which we would love to see in 2013....), and a fan that was brought up on stage during the bridge of 'A Place For My Head'. The full video of this show can also be seen here: DOWNLOAD: DIME [FLAC] Show page Enjoy!

Recently, Scala Events (the promoter of the Manila show on August 13) posted an interview Chester did with RX93.1 in Manila. Here is a recap of what Chester talked about in the 25 minute interview: - In his first visit to Manila in 2004, he felt like the city was "very familiar" and felt like he was "at home". He talked about the hardcore fans that were crying and screaming when Linkin Park was there. - Linkin Park will continue to donate ticket proceeds to Music For Relief at their August shows. - He said his favorite Stone Temple Pilots songs are 'Meatplow', 'Pretty Penny', 'Dumb Love', 'Wonderful', 'Piece Of Pie', 'Crackerman', and many more. - Stone Temple Pilots asked him what songs he knew by the band, and Chester responded with "I kind of know all of them" and it surprised the band. - Chris Cornell asked Chester if he would come out on Projekt Revolution 2008 and sing 'Hunger Strike' with him. Chester is a big fan of both Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell. He was nervous about performing it initially. - His favorite Linkin Park song since the beginning is 'Papercut' and says that it is the "identity of the band." About 'Papercut', he said: "It's got everything. It's heavy, it's musical, it's melodic, it's got cool changes, it's got lots of different styles in it. That song continuously has been my favorite." - He also loves 'Breaking The Habit' a lot. - Chester said initially with Linkin Park, he felt like the band was really really good at doing "the hip hop thing and writing rock music", but there wasn't a lot of melody in the music (and what was there melodically wasn't that good), so his goal was to bring the melodic element to the band. Going on about 'Papercut', he said "When we got to that song, the chorus was so dope and the words behind it were so cool, that I kind of didn't need to do much melodically until we flipped it up at the end. That was a lot of fun; I felt like that song really captured what the vibe of the band about." - He said the place he was as a person 2004 when he first visited the Philippines is so far from the person he is today. All of the things in his life are equally awesome, whereas in 2004 the only awesome thing in his life was Linkin Park. He mentioned his wife, his children, his friends and how good his relationship is with the other members of Linkin Park. "Every great thing that I have now is because of the band." - Since 2004, Linkin Park has changed by becoming much better at writing songs. The band has figured out the best way for them to be in the studio writing songs - the band knows what they expect out of their songs. He thinks each record he makes is better than the last one. Chester talked about the fans that say "Hybrid Theory is my life!" and only like that record. He says that's ok, they still play those songs live, and he has a deep respect for the style of music that Linkin Park started with, but if they continued making music that way that the band would have become bored and would have sucked. He said today they have accomplished all of the goals they set when they were a small band and they have lived up to what they told people when they first started, that they weren't going to be a "one trick pony" and you couldn't put them in just one genre. Linkin Park can write any type of song, write it well and get on stage with anyone, so he is proud of that. - He doesn't know what the setlist for the August shows will be yet. The band has been in the studio writing and has been writing good songs in his opinion. Within a few weeks the band will start rehearsing for the upcoming tour. - The band still wants to put out an album every 18 months. He talked about the "4 year gap" between albums that the band used to have and explained that it was due to the albums taking about 18 months to make and then the band toured for two years, so it took a while to make a new album. - Transformers has done "huge things" for Linkin Park. They have never asked to be in any movie - the directors and film companies have always come to the band. If Transformers came to Linkin Park again to be in the next movie, he thinks the band will say yes. He talked about his favorite Transformers toys as a kid. - He talked about how Linkin Park came together. He mentioned Xero and said they were very close to getting signed, but that Mark was better at "managing bands" (like Deftones and Alice In Chains) than he was at singing. Chester had been singing since he was 14, he had been singing in Grey Daze in Arizona and had made a name for himself. When Mark left, Chester was introduced to the remaining members of Xero, they wrote all new music and changed the vibe a little bit due to the vocal style of Chester being different. He said they were turned down by almost every label initially but they were signed within about a year of him joining the band to a record deal. - The band has played in around 40 countries (according to Chester's passports). - When asked if he was ready for the Asian Tour, he said he is ready for more shows - that's part of the reason why he said yes to Stone Temple Pilots, why he did Dead By Sunrise, and why he sang with Camp Freddy, etc - he loves performing live. Listen to the full interview on Soundcloud here. Thoughts?
-
I wonder if they'll do some sort of rehearsal at Third Encore with a few fans before the SSMF show.

Chester recently said that STP is going to tour. With Linkin Park going out in August, when do you think STP will tour? LP is working on their new album, STP is also working on a new album, and STP wants to tour. What are your thoughts on when this could occur? I think it's possible STP could go out in September or October for a month and play a short USA tour....

Linkin Park Song Election - LIVING THINGS

I'LL BE GONE for sure. If VICTIMIZED loses here I will say what an epic fail lol
