  1. Great points about Papercut, Runaway, Lost In The Echo, etc. Awesome post. Nine Inch Nails actually does vary a lot. In 2008 and 2009 when I saw them they changed it every night a good bit (5-7+ songs). In 2013 they changed it a good amount too. Look at the start of the Hesitation Marks touring cycle - all sorts of songs were coming out of nowhere. Check like Japan for the first show and compare it to Reading or the London club show. All different stuff. Lately on this Soundgarden/NIN tour it's been the same stuff yeah and I guess that's because Trent is getting burnt out again which is why they are about to do another damn hiatus sadly.
  2. Once again, can anyone confirm the Summit prices for each Summit? Camden was $50 and Darien/Woodlands were $90, right? Is that true?
  3. While I support purchasing the show to watch, you are literally hurting not a single person by sharing it afterwards. Of course the record label understands fans share everything - LPLive was THE headquarters for sharing all DSPs until they were banned, so for 2.5 to 3 years, we posted every single one as the band encouraged it. They all know the fans collect the shit, the band knows it, etc and they support it. Don't be a troll and say you hope no one gets a good quality rip from the show - that's one of the stupidest things I have ever heard. I will promote the VyRT thing all day so fans purchase it and buy it and hopefully show LP management that the fans like this sort of thing (to do in the future, perhaps) but that's just idiotic to say you hope no one can see it afterwards. No one is dumb enough to think that the LP fans that collect every single live thing will let something go unrecorded like that, lol. If the content is not available on demand afterwards or for download then we have no choice but to allow it to be shared. @graveguard: I tried reaching out to have an open dialogue with LP management about offering a download of the show for a certain price but they didn't even take the two minutes of their day to respond. Then I was told by someone else closer to the band that their management refuses it to be purchased for download. It very likely (just assuming) has something to do with Mars getting some of the profits as LP is pretty supportive of releasing live shit for profit (the DSP program went from 2007-2012). I also want to watch the show afterwards, so I will be grabbing the show afterwards as well. This wouldn't be such a problem to people that DISAGREE with sharing if more people purchased it in the first place. At least support the platform, the idea, the band and the concept here.
  4. Here is fine, yes it's allowed!
  5. Thing was literally a trainwreck in Charlotte, Bristow, Mansfield and Wantagh. Joe plays REALLY loud samples over so much of it that it's almost impossible to tell what's going on. I never saw a good performance of it and I saw it 4 times. The band looks really clueless about it when they perform it. Not sure if it has improved or not but it was super messy the first 4 times.
  6. Good call Daniel. However, with Rakim being less than an hour from the West Palm Beach show (he was in Miami), the Tampa show (he was in I think Kissimmee?), the Holmdel show (his home was nearby), and I THINK the Tinley Park show (another show by him) and he didn't show up ONCE....that gives me no hope for guests at the shows. The band said they learned these songs so that guests can hop in and join them whenever they want, but I guess that was a false statement.
  7. Numerous changes LOL, let me just stop you right there. Adding 2 new songs, 3~ (DOYS/LFY is short) older songs, and shortening your latest single off the album isn't some spectacular amount of changes. That's pretty lazy considering they rehearsed ALL of that shit before Europe even began. I think I qualify for seeing a "fuck ton" of shows...my setlist.fm stats 2007-2014 (seven years) say "You attended 367 concerts of 155 different artists." and that's not counting a considerable amount of stuff that isn't on there. So yes, I am WELL versed in how other bands play their shows. Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers, two of my all time favorite bands, toss in different shit all the time...RHCP every single show and Foo every few nights on a headlining tour and if it's a short tour then EVERY night. Muse too. Those are 3 bands that are of comparable size since they play the exact same venues as LP. So yes, I know what I am talking about. You are being way too selective about what bands you are talking about - AC/DC and KISS are two run of the mill OLD bands that have pretty much run out of gas. Bands that love playing live like Kings Of Leon change shit up - they currently have a thing where if you bring a SIGN to the show, they send a crew member out to scout the crowd and take pics of signs with rare songs (rare stuff only, and it's promoted with the hashtag #SongForCity or something) and then the band plays one each night. Really cool stuff. LP is definitely what I would consider lazy on THIS tour. I love the Wretches and Robot Boy and Blackout parts of the show. Great shit there. I am not asking for unrealistic songs like Figure.09, I am asking for REALISTIC songs like A Place For My Head which was performed right before Carnivores and was rehearsed for Download. And the other Hybrid Theory songs. Or From The Inside. I appreciate With You and Somewhere I Belong - I feel like they can add onto that though. I disagree 100% with your last sentence. The song selection in 2012 appeased me a HELL of a lot more than Carnivores Tour. I saw 9 shows this tour and 6 in 2012. In 2012, I was able to see my favorite songs APFMH, Lying From You/Papercut mashup, WTCFM, VICTIMIZED w/ QWERTY, etc. Carnivores literally has the most boring setlists I have ever seen from LP and I am now at 29 shows. The 2011 and 2012 selections were much more diverse than these two very similar setlists. Yes, that's because they were festival shows. The headlining shows need some different stuff. The crowd loses their shit for Runaway, Points, etc and no one knows GATS or Rebellion. LP even said in 2011 (like Maik said) that they were going to diversify the festival sets vs headlining sets and play more shit the hardcore fans wanted in the headlining sets, but that never happened. I don't think the Europe 2012 sets counted as doing that unless you count Blackout, which they might have done for the hardcore fans. But APFMH wasn't in that setlist and the band obviously knows that it's the #1 fan request right now. Agreed on most of your stuff but I disagree about what's over BIO - the USA fans in 2011 went fucking INSANE to APFMH over BIO. It exploded the place in Tampa and a pit broke out just because of that the next night in Atlanta. I would kill to see that again and I know people love it. Just listen to the DSPs, the fans know it and love it. I would appreciate Reading My Eyes. I appreciate the rare shit they add even if it's been there for a while, I really do. RME over POA in Stuttgart 09 is still probably my live highlight of ever seeing LP, 29 shows later. On Carnivores, my favorite parts of the show are Mike's Wretches verse, Papercut (my favorite song), and Apaches intro. Apaches sets the place off like a bomb. Wretches I would consider as "rare" and I love it. If they added Reading My Eyes in full right NOW, I would travel ASAP to a show to see it. Same for APFMH. Love those songs. All I was saying was that the variation on this tour BLOWS compared to the past tours that they have played and the band appears very lazy, especially after Mike said "WE HAVE A SECOND SETLIST", which opens and closes with the exact same songs and has almost the exact same order give or take a few songs. The encore is still full of almost the same crap. Where is the diversity? It isn't there. Compare 2014 to 2012 or 2011. The diversity flat out doesn't exist right now. I am not an "entitled" fan - I went to 9 shows and I was under the impression that when they said "visceral", "hard rock", and "it's likely some of the Hybrid Theory rare songs will stick around" that they'd at least keep APFMH. I really appreciate small shit like RME over BIO, but when I asked for it in 2012, Mike told me no. I would be completely happy with 3 different setlists with 3 different openers and 3 different closers like 2007, 2008, 2011 and 2012 had. Well, a few had the same closers I believe, but you know what I mean. "Does a lot to show their gratitude" I do agree to an extent because Robot Boy (which was requested for years) is now there and Blackout is in there, which Mike knows for a fact that fans love. So I appreciate that and Wretches a lot. I'm a little disappointed he stopped adding verses over the solo medley and is sticking with mostly RTN (sometimes WTCFM) but that's something small. I am starting to believe Mike did a significant amount of guitar writing on this album, based on what he plays live and based on how bored Brad looks live. Agreed 110% about the ATS tour and the HCT. Brad looked like he had a great time. Excellent points Geki.
  8. All of the crap about the support bands, etc and all that stuff could be easily forgotten if the band was playing memorable shows. Brad looks super bored on stage, they barely change anything between Set A and Set B. I actually thought Set B was the same show as Set A in Charlotte when I was there until Numb studio intro began with a Joe fuckup. They had all this time to do 3 diverse, awesome setlists (they now have the most songs they have ever had in their career). Instead we get two sets that are very similar and BOTH have incredibly shitty encores (worst ever or close to it, compared with Set A in 2012 with BID, ITE and BIO). Their solution is to play the same songs but to shorten them. And they rehearsed By Myself, Forgotten, PMA and Runaway which most of us haven't seen live....and don't play them. Damn.
  9. 5 new songs.... it's really 4.5, with the shortened UIG and is the smallest amount of new songs that they have performed live off of any album in their history except Living Things (which they seemed to phone in, lol).
  10. I think that is a super obvious problem that should definitely be fixed with the show being sold out and THEN announcing a Summit. They picked PRETTY MUCH one of the only guaranteed sell outs of Carnivores for one of the Summits - Woodlands. I know a few other shows sold out on this tour to my surprise, including Wantagh (which also sold out in 2012) and West Palm Beach. I am not sure about the rest. Anyway it's not like they say "lol show is sold out so let's announce a Summit" - I'm sure when they get the tour dates (well before they are announced) they are already looking at what shows to do a Summit at potentially. However, there definitely should be some tickets for the LPU if the show is sold out and then a Summit is announced. For example, Germany has 9 shows this tour but plenty of German fans (huge fanbase) will want to go to Amsterdam for the Summit since it's not that far...but it is almost impossible for them to do so now from what I can tell. But I don't know for sure because I am not living in Europe, etc. Is it true that these Summit passes are $90 versus the $50 one in Camden in 2012? I compliment them for doing the stage tour - probably the coolest part of the Summit. I like that a lot and wish I could have done one (sadly Camden did not have that option and I was pretty sure they weren't going to do it on Carnivores but I was wrong). The picture with the band is cool but yeah individual pictures like Jonas got would be nice. Yes the band seems to be in odd shape for the Q&A sessions - Camden's was downright pathetic on their part. Nothing to do with Adam or Lorenzo or anyone else outside of LP. They asked maybe 3 questions? And took zero from the fans. The Sydney one appears to be the best Q&A based on the videos I have watched. I think a large portion of this has to do with LP arriving at the venue so late. Joe posted a picture in NYC in mid afternoon the day of the Summit in Darien, lol. They roll in super late, rush the Q&A, do one song acoustic (what happened to the 2 they used to do?), do a M&G and then their portion of the Summit is done. And fans are already missing parts of the show. Luckily this didn't happen in Camden because LP was there at like 2:30pm and that whole Summit went off really successfully IMO. I'd do things totally differently if I was in the band but I am not Linkin Park, so I can't really see the Summits how they see them I guess (superstar rockstar status). They can't do like a 45 min-60 min Q&A, do a M&G with individual pictures for the fans (there aren't THAT many people in the Summits....), play 2+ songs acoustically and then hold a backstage tour or stage tour themselves? Instrument demo? It doesn't seem very hands on from the band's side and the Summits appear to be more CREW and FAN oriented than LINKIN PARK oriented. This has zero to do with Lorenzo, like I said, but it does appear the roles are shifting in modern day Summits versus the original ones in 2010-2011. That's all my opinion though.
  11. Just listened to these.... the guitar part sounds exactly like What I've Done, wow. Didn't know acoustic guitar was in the song either. Lots of stuff gets hidden in the mix of songs that you don't think is really there.
  12. Can you elaborate? http://www.ticketmaster.nl/event/134369 Didn't see anything there. Of course they can do the Summit but a significant majority of fans who come for the Summit definitely want to see the show...I wouldn't travel for a Summit without the show even though I know that does indeed happen, especially for sold out shows.
  13. Why the hell hasn't APFMH been played....
  14. I'm sorry but I'm going to be *that* guy here. Congrats to the Netherlands because this is your first real headlining show in AGES and you deserved the band playing a show there. I thought the Summit was going to be in Paris and I am surprised it isn't, but maybe next time. However, I think it's pretty ridiculous to announce a Summit for a show when the show is already sold out. You are pretty much screwed if you aren't already going to the show due to it being sold out and how many LPUers are actually going to the Summit? The USA Summits didn't sell out AFAIK (Darien didn't sell out, I know that) and a significant amount of people that go are from other cities, states and countries. What do you do if you're coming from somewhere else and can't get a ticket? I think if they do something like this (announce a Summit after a show is sold out) then they need to reserve a select number of tickets for LPUers.
  15. That's one of the dumbest things I have ever heard and goes against what 90% of bands that tour play. Every band that I follow plays rarer songs live. Foo with I'll Stick Around/Generator and others, 10 Years with shit all the time, Metallica with Frayed Ends Of Sanity and all sorts of other rare shit like St. Anger, etc. OF COURSE you can sacrifice a boring single for a kickass oldschool song. When I am seeing a band I am a casual fan of, I am looking forward to the jams that I don't know versus the big singles. I want to find stuff that is epic that I don't know. Incubus did it for me with A Certain Shade Of Green, even. I can't think of a band that DOESN'T play some semi rare oldie live.
  16. We don't have a live section for SOB (even though I wish we did), but we do have one for Julien-K. Both are super small bands with no other site to cover them so we wanted to give them a home. They don't take up a lot of space here lol. SOB was in FM, JK was in DBS. There aren't any other LP side projects (we cover STP of course but that's different) so don't worry about other bands coming in.
  17. If APFMH has a time to shine, it's now.
  18. No but in 2009 in Shanghai the government forced them to drop Given Up and Hands Held High from the setlist. http://lplive.net/shows/db/2009/20090815 Somehow a member even got the original notice to the band, which you can view on the show page. Pretty crazy.
  19. We take those no problem!
  20. Bump for Carnivores Tour material! We are missing tickets for a LOT of the shows on Carnivores. If you saw a show at the first half of the tour, we need those tickets and we have almost nothing for the second half of the tour (after the week break in the middle). We have a few setlist pictures....not a whole lot of other stuff.
  21. Wow didn't know that. I'll ask them about the soundtrack.
  22. Yes Detroit was the best setlist to me too of the ATS era. And it was supposed to be played in Atlanta! Damn you LP Wantagh was good but Holmdel to me was a much better show. And Mansfield beat that one. And Bristow beat that one. Of all the shows I saw, Bristow was my favorite. Hmm check the audio section of the forums and request it if you can't find it (the other recording, or recordingS). I doubt we'll get any more good audio like this from the tour except for Jonas's stuff. No one tapes LP anymore sadly.
  23. Wow damn I forgot all about V2 of WTCFM. If we hadn't parked the car and cut the lights off we would have never heard it haha. I wonder if he did even more after that....he was doing an extensive rehearsal at the end of his medley. I think he said Reading My Eyes is too fast...didn't someone ask him in Europe? I think High Voltage, Step Up and There They Go would be good. Icing on the cake would be Spraypaint & Inkpens or Carousel. Those two...damn. So I'll vote for all 5!
