  1. I'll do the Stuttgart one for you guys. Soul doesn't have that much variety from mine IMO. What city was the production rehearsal?
  2. I highly doubt there is another USA tour after this. I bet they do North America, a break, Vegas warmup with maybe an LA show, Europe, then Asia/Australia + South America to end it. LA is probably excluded because they're doing something else there in 2015, just like how Vegas is excluded.
  3. Greensboro on the poster is wrong. Should be NC not PA.
  4. Orlando, Nashville and Greensboro for me for now because it's all within driving distance. Surprised at no Atlanta area show. Georgia is screwed I guess with no rock radio. Bad market now. I'll do more if they play APFMH or the rarer Hybrid Theory songs. Surprised at no MSG. Nashville would be a great Summot location. Let's hope Chester can handle the cold and shit doesn't get canceled. Three shows in a row might be the end of the tour for him lol
  5. Great find, I haven't ever seen that before! http://lplive.net/shows/db/chesterbennington/20121027
  6. I think we will get the LPU XIV CD before we get Mall. What do you guys think? That would be a release of two sets of music REALLY close together if they released Mall this week or next week, for example.
  7. I don't think M&Gs even last 10 minutes, not joking. I am referring to the time the band starts going down the line and when they leave.
  8. Remember No Doubt headlined LP's Music For Relief show in 2005. Blink 182 was going to headline but No Doubt played after LP/JZ.
  9. From my understanding the M&G rules changed partially through Carnivores. In WPB we could take pics of the M&G. Preston reported a few shows later they were saying they'd "kick your ass out" (exact words from security, again, why are they such assholes?) if you took your phone out. I think that's ridiculous. Friends have gotten cool pics of me with the band and vice versa (just talking to them) that you normally would not have. This professional photographer does a good job but he can't cover everyone especially if fucking Brad and Joe decide to go the OPPOSITE way down the line at every show. Seems a little immature on their part. Something I would really like to see is what Jonas proposed a few months ago. You can get 1 item signed or get 1 pic with a band member of your choice. I LOVE that. I've got so much signed stuff that it took me a full year to figure out what else I wanted signed after 2012. I asked Chester for a selfie picture and he flat out told me no. I thought that sucked because in Europe An had one with Mike and the Russian fans had a TON of them from their shows. 1 pic is that hard? I didn't even get anything signed by him. This policy would be great for those who go to multiple m&g's or have met the band before. And I agree the table system sucked and the line system is much better even with Brad and Joe being odd. The 2 person M&G was just awkward.
  10. Wow now this is my kind of festival. LP opening for Metallica, and Deftones the same day. And then Ed Sheeran opening for T Swift, the two top albums of 2014. Damn I really like it. Great job on calling it Leonardo! You said it from the start that LP wouldn't headline.
  11. A-Six, 2:40 I've always understood that to be Chester going "oooooo". Is it a sample? I thought it was always vocals.
  12. Chester is on some good shit for this show. His commentary before In The End is hilarious about saluting the crowd. "We spent the last two days off making the new video for this song. I am fucking sick of this song right now." I wanted to discuss the In The End video. The 10th, 11th and 12th were days off before this show. http://www.mtv.com/news/1457104/vma-lens-recap-the-story-behind-linkin-parks-in-the-end/ "“In the End,” which Linkin Park filmed during a break from Ozzfest last July" http://www.mtv.com/news/1446614/as-ozzfest-ends-bands-continue-their-wicked-ways/ http://www.mtv.com/news/1445204/operation-desert-form-linkin-park-shoot-in-the-end-clip/ 7/17/01 "For the past five weeks Linkin Park have been making audiences come alive on Ozzfest, but last week they worked their magic on a desert. The Southern California rock-rap group shot a video on Thursday for the song “In the End” in which the bandmembers rock out in a barren desert that comes to life." That puts the date at 7/12/01. But then it says "The band shot the clip in Culver City, California, during a break from Ozzfest" http://www.lptimes.com/article/Shoutweb_1001.html 7/09/01 or 7/21/01 (it was from Camden and there were two Camden shows) "We were filming our video for "In The End" in L.A. about a week and a half ago. You'll see in the video that we had a really cool set made." So it seems like they worked on it on June 28 on their off day in California and then flew home from July 10-12 in LA to finish it. I think it's worth adding show notes to both shows around that time.
  13. Well now we know it was staged!
  14. What in the world is this? http://instagram.com/p/uohLi9Hrty/?modal=true Jam? Shinoda is hilarious here http://instagram.com/p/um1YUrHrtx/?modal=true Pictures: http://www.livphotographyaz.com/events
  15. Never noticed that extra guitar/drum part in Points there in the middle. Cool. The wiki doesn't explain the difference(s) between the WID Distorted Remix and the WID MS Remix. Yes. This. Lots of new Linkin Park music.
  16. LPBR recently interviewed Marc Ostrick, who you probably know because he filmed some old rehearsal footage of Linkin Park (then called Hybrid Theory) in 1999 for an episode of his series called Lockout. Along with the trailer below, he also posted a video he did with just Joe. Of interest in the main video, you'll see their temporary bassist Scott Koziol who even toured with them for a bit before Phoenix came back to the band. While they rehearse Esaul at the beginning of the video, at 2:34 you see them rehearsing a (then unknown) song that later was finally identified as Slip when the LPU 11 CD was released in 2011, over 6 years after the video was posted online. It even sounds like it could be a different version of Slip in the video. Before I get to the LPBR interview, I don't think too many fans have seen Ostrick's video with Jeff Blue (Warner A&R who was involved with getting LP signed). It features him listening to some LP demos like Untitled and Super Xero and discussing the band...you can watch that here. In the LPBR interview he gives a few cool answers.... Do you have any interesting stories about the band (other than the ones in the documentary)? I got a ticket on my car and they told me about how they were spending all of their record advance on parking tickets. They felt bad that I got a ticket and we filmed it and pretended like they got the ticket instead of me. It was a fun bit and then we all got a bite to eat and talked about music and movies. They were all good guys, struggling to pay bills. But they were determined to make it. And they did. Lockout features a really old Linkin Park song called “Slip” which was unknown to fans until the band finally released it in 2011. Did you record any other songs besides the ones shown in the documentary? There may be a couple. Unfortunately, at the end of the interview he states that he has seen the band only twice which is conflicting with what we originally thought for years. In this Lockout series trailer, it says that each episode ends with a live performance by the band, so we assumed that he had a Hybrid Theory live performance from 1999. Ostrick probably never realized how interesting his material would be to Linkin Park fans until he released it online in 2006 and likely received an onslaught of YouTube messages inquiring about it. Of course, LPLive tried to get the footage quite a few times over the years and Ostrick wanted not a penny less than $10,000 for his 2.5 hours of footage. We figured not even a Kickstarter campaign would be worth it so we never pursued it. Maybe the footage will be released someday, but I wouldn't count on it.
  17. -Can't blame fans for being dumb and pirating the fanclub music...LPU has zero control over that. At least we get music unlike many many many other fanclubs. -The people who paid HUGE money for VIP M&Gs get the same LPU M&G as you do but then the band comes back around to spend time with them after the normal M&G has ended. They paid huge money, that's what they get. The MFR auction winners always have had this going back to 2008 and I saw it personally in 2009 in Switzerland. It's not a big deal. The M&G is even documented much better now with the extra photos. -The amount of LPUTV episodes in LPU 13 has doubled in the past few weeks. -LPU shirts are solid to me. My favorites were LPU 4 and 6. The one for LPU 9 was good. They did a jersey this year because so many people wanted one. I dislike the Hot Topic crap a lot. I don't see many older fans ever wear that type of stuff versus with the LPU jersey, I see people of all ages wearing it. -The merch I still use from the LPU daily include the water bottle and the keychain, which both date back a few years. Both are in great shape. Hot Topic doesn't offer stuff like that. They've had a huge variety of merch over the years, from shoelaces to earbuds to all sorts of stuff so surely there's something for every fan there. There is no equivalent to the laminate anywhere else....that laminate and only that laminate gets you access to the LPU exclusive stuff. -You are 110% completely wrong about the "cut the line" stuff. I went to 8 shows and watched the early entry at EVERY show because I was interested (and concerned) with how it would go down. Here's how it worked: LPU went in first, then the VIP people, then the Mars people. Lorenzo even had the Mars people hold their fans up inside (they were inside for their preshow M&G already) so the LPU could get to the pit first. That was handled really well on Carnivores and went way better than I thought it was going to go. I was skeptical at first but the LPU early entry has been flawless at all 14 shows I've seen it at in 2012 and 2014 combined. -LPU gets pit for every presale that I know of. I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. There has literally never been a situation where there were too many VIP people buying pit that it became unavailable for the LPU. There are allotments for a reason. The LPU membership is a hell of a lot cheaper than dropping VIP to guarantee your early entry + M&G with LP. In fact, it's cheaper by $300+. I'd never even consider dropping that kind of money to meet LP but hey, whatever floats your boat. And since you mentioned VIP gets the same opportunities....I never saw a single VIP person at the Sunrise 2011, Bristow 2012 or West Palm Beach 2013 soundcheck parties. LPU got into the last two exclusively. -Didn't Joe and Phoenix JUST do LPU chats in the last 4 weeks? lol How? I actually never knew that I don't think....?
  18. I am pretty positive they edit some of the songs to remove vocals. You can't tell me Figure.09, A-Six, Asbestos, etc never had more vocals on them, lol. Brad in an LPU chat even said A-Six was the "just drag it out, remember" song in the Making Of Meteora. They kept the grunts on the bridge though. The fact that some of the LPU9 demos were edited before their release probably support that. Maybe they can't release too many songs with vocals for some reason. It's good that we've only had 3 songs on LPU CDs that have been release prior to their LPU CD inclusion (Forgotten and Points demos and the WID Mike remix).
  19. After a full year of comparing how much I listen to each LPU CD, I found that LPU13 was the CD I listened to the most SINCE the LPU9 CD. LPU9 caught us all off guard with how epic it was...I mean wow that truly was a fantastic job. I did not LOVE LPUX, LPU11 or LPU12, even though we got some really quality demos on some of them. LPUX (What We Don't Know, Pale, Pretend To Be, Coal and Halo), LPU11 had some good stuff with Broken Foot (filthy!), the epic Esaul demo, and Soundtrack. The super early HT demos of Slip and Blue were golden. LPU12 was the weakest IMO. To this day there's nothing I listen to regularly on that CD and that's a shame, haha. LPU13 brought it back big time. I fucking LOVE Basquiat, Primo, Cumulus and Pretty Birdy. I like those significantly more than any LPU demo song from 9-13 except Across The Line. Basquiat is a filthy guitar-driven jam, Primo absolutely shreds I'll Be Gone to pieces in my opinion and is an amazing track that was consolidated into complete garbage on Living Things, Cumulus is EPIC DAMN it should have been on Meteora! wow I listen to Cumulus quite a lot, Pretty Birdy is a garage-sounding LP jam that just rocks start-to-finish (imagine if we had a LFY demo like that). LPU13 was A+ to me. I'd like to hear Pictureboard finally but I guess that'll never happen. The LPU knows what we all want (the "thoughts that take away my pride" demo, My December Team Sleep remix, Pictureboard are probably the top 3) but we'll see what we get. It's guaranteed pretty much that we get a few songs that are fantastic. I hope there is another good, unreleased song on there like Across The Line, What We Don't Know, Pretend To Be, etc.
  20. The LPU has a new collaboration, this time with Johnny Cupcakes to sell a new shirt for the LP fanclub. The press release states, "Although Johnny Cupcakes doesn’t sell real cupcakes, their quirky apparel — largely focused on graphic tees that poke fun at pop culture with a culinary twist — still creates a buzz through word of mouth and general curiosity." The shirt will be available from now until November 17th at the Johnny Cupcakes online store for $40. Additionally, the press release mentions the new year of the LP Underground, referring to it as LPU XIV. "November 2014 will commemorate LPU’s 14th year with the release of LPU XIV, which will include a special edition album featuring unreleased LINKIN PARK demos." This will be the sixth year in a row with a CD full of demos (usually chosen by Mike) from the fanclub, starting with LPU 9 in 2009 and continuing to present day. Since the shirt is available through November 17, it is not unreasonable to think that LPU XIV will launch around then. The full press release is below: "Los Angeles, CA (October 27, 2014) Linkin Park Underground [LPU] has launched a collaborative apparel project with Johnny Cupcakes featuring a specially designed, limited edition t-shirt. Each Johnny Cupcakes x LPU T-Shirt comes with a one year membership to the LPU which includes various members-only benefits including an exclusive online social platform, pre-sale ticket opportunities, and chances to meet the band at select shows around the world. The pre-order for the Johnny Cupcakes x LPU T-Shirt is available now through November 17, 2014. Go to http://shop.johnnycupcakes.com to purchase and learn more about this exclusive collaboration. “At a young age, I stumbled upon Linkin Park’s cassette tape single at a record shop. Ever since then, I have been a huge supporter of these guys. It has been inspiring to watch them grow musically, while also witnessing the creation of such an influential brand in the music industry. When the opportunity arose to work with their fan club, Linkin Park Underground, we jumped at the chance. We love exploring exciting channels through which to engage our fans and hopefully open their eyes to new experiences, so it was a nice change of pace to provide that new opportunity for the LPU." - Johnny Cupcakes November 2014 will commemorate LPU’s 14th year with the release of LPU XIV, which will include a special edition album featuring unreleased LINKIN PARK demos. 21. It was a long weekend for LPLive staff, but we didn't want to miss this one. Last Friday was Hybrid Theory's 14th anniversary and to celebrate, our friends at Road To Revolution BR posted a really cool exclusive. It's a proshot video of the band's Ozzfest 2001 set from West Palm Beach, FL. For years, two songs were circulating from Ozzfest - Crawling and A Place For My Head. We had no idea what show they were from or even what the original source was. Finally, when RTRBR obtained this video from MTV Brazil, they confirmed that it was the West Palm Beach, FL show of the tour and that more footage existed. In The End was actually broadcasted on TV too but somehow it was not recorded like Crawling and A Place For My Head were. With this release, we can see part of Papercut and all of Points Of Authority, By Myself, Crawling, In The End, and A Place For My Head. Five and a half songs! This is a great release and we thank RTRBR for sharing! Setlist: 01. With You (Missing) 02. Runaway (Missing) 03. Papercut (Partial) 04. Points Of Authority 05. By Myself 06. Crawling 07. In The End 08. A Place For My Head 09. One Step Closer (Missing) There is currently not a DVD download of the set but we are working on discussing this possibility with their staff. Enjoy! It's nice to see the energy from the 2001 shows here and it's always excellent to have another proshot video released.
  22. This was an outdoor show at like the plaza of a hotel resort. 11:00pm noise curfew.
  23. Got the setlist for you guys. 01. One Step Closer (Ext. Outro) 02. Blackout (Short) 03. Papercut (Short) 04. Rebellion 05. Castle Of Glass (Experience Version) 06. LOATR/SOTD/Iridescent (Ballad Medley) 07. Burn It Down (Short) 08. Waiting For The End (Apaches Intro, Wall Of Noise Outro) 09. In The End 10. Faint (Ext. Outro) Original setlist: OSC Blackout short Papercut short Rebellion Castle Ballad medley BID short WFTE Final masq Numb ITE Faint New divide short WID BIO Final masq, numb, ND, WID, BIO dropped due to curfew. Silent auction ran late so LP took the stage late.
  24. Wow now THAT is a different sounding LP song.
  25. Mars is nowhere near the size of LP is in terms of LP being able to do whatever the fuck they want in their career and not care about how songs/albums do commercially because of how much they earn from touring, but the rest of your points are solid.
