  1. Just thought I'd throw Rick Rubin into the equation...
  2. How does it "sound" nu metal? It's a term that's used to refer to the singer in most rock bands... From Wikipedia- The lead vocalist (or lead singer) is the member of a band who sings the main vocal portions of a song. Lead vocalists may also play one or more instruments. They are sometimes referred to as the frontman or frontwoman, and as such, are usually considered to be the "leader" of the groups they perform in, often the spokespersons in interviews and before the public. On some occasions, the frontman of the band is someone other than the lead vocalist (e.g. Fall Out Boy, Iron Maiden and Van Halen.) It goes on to say- Some rock groups, such as The Beatles, Linkin Park, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Gomez, Eagles, The Beach Boys, KISS, Blink-182, 311, 10cc, The Band, Zebrahead, Atreyu, Mushroomhead, Alkaline Trio, Crazy Town, Middle Class Rut and Barenaked Ladies have more than one featured vocalist, making it difficult to establish a single "lead singer" or "front man."
  3. What you smokin'? Joe is CLEARLY the frontman. Oh, and this should really be a poll...
  4. The incongruity of playing My December in summer would tear apart the universe!
  5. Of all the bands you mentioned, Sevenfold are the only one I like But yeah, you're pretty much right. The masses of power pop clones all trying to be Fall Out Boy or Paramore are also really annoying, as they take airtime away from bands with even an ounce of originality.
  6. Right... <rant> The music industry has become inundated with crap, that much is clear. No-one requires talent to be successful, you just need to look good in a music video and do everything the corporate hacks at record companies tell you. The major reason I got into the metal scene is because of all the auto-tuned crap that's spewing into the charts these days. Fortunately, we still have honest, talented rock bands like Linkin Park to keep good music afloat. The problem is that nowadays no-one actually cares about music, but about being fashionable and liking what everyone else does. I really don't understand it when someone describes a song as being "old"- even when it's been out a month! Music doesn't get old, GOOD music becomes classic. That's another thing- what's the betting that in 10 years no-one will have any idea who Bruno Mars or Tinie Tempah are? Everything is so flavour of the month these days, and all this crap is preventing talented artists from being successful. Something needs to change or the music industry will be screwed forever. </rant>
  7. I've just realised I've never seen A Place for My Head live. DAMN.
  8. I think it more likely that we'll get one off singles every so often. As for a whole album, I think it's pretty unlikely.
  9. Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying from You I'm just gonna vote for the Collision Course songs until they're gone
  10. I have nothing to do with this, but am glad as now, hopefully, people will stop bitching about LPUX
  11. Favourite Heavy Song: And One Favourite Soft Song: Iridescent
  12. Agreed, Volkerball is awesome. An acoustic LP DVD and album could be interesting.
  13. A Thousand Suns, because of the ending to Blackout.
  14. I agree that they should do an indoor show for the next DVD, as we've had only outdoor shows so far. They could film the shows they're doing in Japan, and bring out an awesome setlist for them. Something like this- The Requiem Wretches and Kings Papercut Given Up Lying From You No More Sorrow Jornada del Muerto Waiting for the End Blackout Numb What I've Done Breaking the Habit Iridescent The Catalyst In the End Reading My Eyes (THEY NEED TO PUT IT ON A DVD! ) Bleed It Out A Place for My Head ========================== When They Come for Me Crawling New Divide Faint One Step Closer
  15. We gotta get Joe into the next Mortal Kombat game.
  16. I don't know why, I just really don't like that video.
  17. Well, it can't be worse than the New Divide video.
  18. Have they ever opened with A Place for My Head? Always thought that would be a good song to get the audience hyped at the start of a show.
  19. I thought they might start doing a mix between the two... they could include the new drum pattern over the first verse, but still incorporate the gang vocals. After all, it's only the chorus, and it would be a good opportunity for a singalong.
  20. ^ Though as touring restarts in June, now would be the optimum time to shoot the video, as the band's schedule is pretty empty. Anyway, interested to see how it will turn out. I assume this will be the last ATS video, which is a shame as I'd hoped they'd do a live footage one for Wretches and Kings... oh well.
  21. So, which version of Iridescent is your favourite? I personally prefer the original (which is, admittedly my favourite LP song to date.) For me it's more emotionally moving than the edit, which seems a bit rushed- though of course that's kind of the point.
  22. I doubt they'd have needed to. If I had the stems, I could have made that mix on my laptop.
