  1. I feel like that was a name that they only used briefly before switching to Hybrid Theory, like really briefly. It's weird that Brad specifically mentioned that name, though.
  2. How the fuck did LP let that awful take of The Messenger make it onto the record when he can sing it like this?
  3. That just shows that no one in this band knows what they're talking about, ever.
  4. It is. Hahninator went off on a tangent.
  5. Well Billy Corgan quit that because it wasn't working at all after less than two years, and people always yell about what a creative genius he is, so we'll see.
  6. I wasn't aware that people actually cared about the LPU forums.
  7. Here's a thing. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/che...gether-20130531 They're gonna try what Smashing Pumpkins tried - record songs and release them as they're finished, instead of putting a full album out. Hopefully that'll actually work.
  8. That's because he hasn't. Again, LP's barely doing anything this summer. Who knows what the Mall soundtrack even is - if it's instrumental, then automatically Chester doesn't have to be there and he won't be there. STP isn't LP, they can throw together an album in three months, especially now that Scott's not in the band. Touring/recording with STP won't be the giant undertaking that DBS was.
  9. That's the problem with living in Florida - you only get shows if someone's doing a fucking decade-long tour, and even then it's one show right at the beginning so no cool setlist variations for you. Bruce has been on tour for over a year now with his latest outing and he hit Florida a whopping one time (luckily, it was in Tampa, so I made it to that one show).
  10. I don't even remember those shows at all, wow. Shows how well the tour went.
  11. I'd like to mention that the Scott Belsha thing was never confirmed by anyone in the band. His page implied a degree of credibility, but it could still be just some random guy.
  12. Scott and Ian are listed in the credits of Hybrid Theory as bassists. Ian played on Papercut, APFMH, and Forgotten, while Scott only played on One Step Closer. They were both just hired help. Minor musicians who didn't do anything else notable. Same for Kyle Christener.
  13. Well, if that's the case, then it falls more on Chester as to why we didn't get a US tour. Though, Mike is probably making more money than Chester, considering all the shit Mike does, though he wasn't doing that much stuff in 2005... Whatever.
  14. See, but that's the thing - he's refusing to acknowledge them as STP - just his bandmates plus Chester. That's what the real shitstorm's going to be about.
  15. Well, they did seem pretty satisfied with how LT turned out, didn't they? It was the promotion that was horrendous for that album. If they release another album on the 18-month cycle and promote it properly, it could probably do fine. I'd get behind a spring 2014 release date for the album, so long as Mall comes out soon.
  16. Mike probably had more pull than Chester because LP wasn't really doing anything besides fighting Warner Bros. at the time. The label saw an opportunity to make money during a time when their primary cash cow wasn't, so Mike got a lot of promotion (most of which he admittedly seemed to do himself) and a nice tour. Chester, meanwhile, released Out of Ashes towards the tail end of the gap between two LP albums, when everyone knew a new album was coming, and plus he wasn't even able to book a US tour. Warner didn't give a shit about the project so they let it drop as soon as they could. It's never good when you're on a major label and your official website is a Myspace page in 2009.
  17. Christ, this is getting ugly. I had a feeling Scott wouldn't take this lying down, and he does have a semi-legitimate claim. Even so, the rest of the band fired him because he was screwing up the shows because of his addictions. I don't think this will affect the band until there's a ruling or some sort of legal restriction placed on the band that prevents them from performing or something like that.
  18. Cross-posted from the shoutbox: http://www.antiquiet.com/news/2013/05/scot...on-linkin-park/ He mad.
  19. This is what I mean when I said you have a tendency to be standoffish in your posts. This post right here. I just like hearing...not 'finished', but rather 'fully-worded' vocals in the songs, which Fear and Drum Song had. The scat vocals did distract from the music in both of those cases, in my opinion. They were good demos otherwise.
  20. The gibberish vocals are much, much different than actual finished vocals. Having songs filled with random scat vocals is worse than having instrumental tracks, because the vocals just distract from the rest of the song. There's a difference between discussion and being shitty, which both of us are doing now. So let's just drop this line here.
  21. First off, back off. Second, if they have so many fucking demos sitting in the vault, why do we get two or three per CD, tops? We know their process, we know that they eliminate dozens of tracks before they get anywhere near close to completion. Mike and Chester don't lay finished vocals onto a track until it's practically guaranteed to be on the album, we've seen that with Hybrid Theory, we've seen it with Minutes to Midnight. If they have so many songs ready to go, why was Chester recording vocals while the rest of the damn album was being mixed? Obviously none of us know for sure, but that doesn't mean you should just fucking go at people whenever you don't agree with what they're saying. No wonder Astat bitched you out in the STP topic.
  22. Yeah, LP doesn't record eight million fully complete songs like some other bands do - they don't have the material to do a full b-side album and continue to release yearly LPU CDs. And I highly doubt the songs that we get would be nearly as good as the LPU tracks if they did decide to put out a b-side album.
  23. Oh my god I want that.
  24. EPs in the wake of digital downloads usually just used as stopgaps between albums anyway, and LP has never been interested in that.
