  1. They put it up too early and then pulled it, most likely. Happens all the time.
  2. Probably because they wouldn't sell nearly enough to warrant a standalone release. That's what happened with the ATS one, I presume.
  3. It'll probably be around 30 bucks, unless the bonus 10'' drives the price up. If it hits 40 I'm not buying it.
  4. That made me wonder about the project, too, when this topic first popped up. It seemed weird that there's been exactly zero information since it was first announced.
  5. Dude, now you're just intentionally being a tool. It's fine to think songs like Castle of Glass suck, but there's no reason to throw out tons of derogatory language while doing it. Makes me think you're the real 13 year old here. Chill out with the personal attacks, this isn't the website for that.
  6. Picture vinyls are even worse quality-wise.
  7. Don't colored vinyls usually suffer in sound quality because they're made somewhat differently? I think I might be off the mark, I'm not really up to scuff on vinyl. Not that any of us are really buying this to play it, let's be real.
  8. Well, I mean, none of those really fit into the nu-metal spectrum. An argument (a weak one) could be made for SoaD, but certainly not the other two. I know you didn't quote me, but I certainly wasn't talking about the entire spectrum of nu-metal in my post, and I'm pretty sure Geki wasn't either. I personally don't think the genre has much merit, but I'm not gonna talk about that. Let's focus on LP. I think LT was a sort of a mis-step, more than anything. Not an intentional step backwards - but I think too much of that HT/Meteora sound bled into their music. Obviously, they can give whatever reason they want for reverting to that sound in select parts of the album, but a major reason for that had to be the disappointing reception for ATS compared to their previous three albums. They branched out like crazy - maybe a little too much, I'm willing to say that. But the response sort of reminds me of what Weezer did after Pinkerton - they turned right the fuck back around and began pumping out shittier versions of the Blue Album. I don't think LT was a reversion back to HT/Meteora entirely - songs like UIB and COG say otherwise. Those are songs LP would never have made if they hadn't made MTM and ATS. But I think they're playing it too safe now.
  9. Wow, this thread is whipping itself up into a shitstorm. IMO, MTM was when LP started setting their sights on a target demographic above 13 year olds who are mad at their moms. It was an attempt to make "adult music", so to speak. The stigma attached to LP in general probably prevented that from actually happening, but it's been a good attempt so far. Not to say that younger teens wouldn't be able to appreciate MTM. They'd appreciate MTM more than ATS, certainly, unless they're a particularly educated kid who's able to grasp larger concepts.
  10. Vinyl hasn't been the dominant medium of music in over twenty years. There are going to be tons of younger people who have no idea what a vinyl record is, because CDs and digital downloads are dominant now. That's like a seventy year old man being depressed by the fact that people don't know what shellac records are. Get over it.
  11. That's rad, let me just get on my bicycle, divert the very limited college funds I have towards going to a concert by band I've been giving progressively less shits about for the past two years, and ride my ass to Georgia. Simple as that, right? Christ. Didn't expect to get jumped by you people for being frustrated with LP's shit-ass touring schedule.
  12. All I heard, personally, was that the tracks were all quieter, though that was a consequence of the conversion from FLAC to mp3. Really, in retrospect, the sampler is just that - a sampler. No huge changes to any of the songs. I still appreciate you uploading it for us, however.
  13. That's the point - they're the exact same files we have. Those are direct from Energy's link - download them yourself if you want. The sampler is a good way to get people to listen to the band without shoving Stereo down their throats.
  14. I'd be on board with you, probably, if they had come anywhere fucking near me during that pathetic-ass excuse for a US tour.
  15. IMO if they want to make a decent amount of money from the next project, they should put out a "traditional" album alongside the soundtrack, separately packaged, plus a deluxe combo pack. Call it two halves of a double album.
  16. It's an analog medium for music recording (as opposed to the digital nature of CDs/digital downloads), which came to prominence through the 50s, up until the 80s, where CDs overtook them. Vinyl never really stopped being produced, and recently it's been coming back around as an audiophile/hipster medium of listening to music. Here's some more in-depth info if you'd like to learn more.
  17. I think this entire album cycle has completely sucked ass. ATS's music videos were incredible - all four of them. LT's? Burn it Down was yet another performance video with the cheesiest effects I've ever seen in an LP video, and I watched In the End. Don't get me started on LITE. Castle of Glass was pretty much the only video I thought was any good. The ATS touring cycle pumped out new formats for the shows because the music was so different, and hit all the major show spots, including Florida (even though I couldn't go). LT? Honda Civic Tour that wasn't even twenty dates. That's it. Say what you want about incredible setlists - the American exposure was completely pathetic for an American band. Granted, "setlist variation" tends to not be a thing for this band, or most bands - I understand that. But come on. The one show in America in 2013 and it's just a rehashed setlist with one song swapped in. That's ridiculous. I would hope for them to move on from this cycle and try again next time, but I think I've become burned out on this band. That's not trying to be melodramatic or whiny, either - it's legit.
  18. They're going to be completely fucked if they go independent. No budget. They'll have to tour perpetually to keep their income steady, and as we already know, their live shows are becoming shittier and more sparse as the years go by. Going independent will sink their ship completely. I suppose this soundtrack will be a cool project. I'm not sure how much I care about new music, though.
  19. LP going independent won't fix the fact that they simply do not give a fuck about live shows anymore. They're doing the exact same thing as Tool; doing a short string of shows, then another one months later with one or two songs swapped out, and then again and again. I was excited for this album cycle way back in the summer, but now the amount of fucks I don't give is absolutely astounding.
  20. Yo, I'd buy that shit.
  21. Do we even have confirmation that they're doing the music for that?

    LT-era Live DVD?

This cycle was a mess, we're not getting a DVD unless it's of one of the 2013 shows. And by then, I doubt anybody beyond the diehards will care at all.
  23. Comparatively speaking, it didn't, because the other MTM singles wrecked everyone's shit and LOATR sort of fizzled out at gold instead. But that's still 500,000 copies of one song. Objectively, that's a successful single. There's no point in releasing more singles from LT, unless it's solely international for radio. LP's not touring America again on this album cycle, LT's sales have pretty much stopped, way short of past sales records, and there's no way to revive the album. This cycle should essentially be over.
  24. The zip has been updated to 1.2, with the sampler added (converted to mp3 instead of using the FLAC files). Also, I'm going to upload Demonstrate, the sampler and Stereo Left/Right independently of the collection, as well as the miscellaneous tracks in one zip.
  25. "A little negative", bro? Dude tore LP to shreds, literally to shreds. I don't think I've read a more competent article shitting on LP in the past five years. That comment was written after I read the first section. Then I read the rest of it. This asshole is still the most pretentious, douchebaggy motherfucker I've ever had the misfortune of encountering. This article is worse than the Stereogum article about the Grammys. There's criticizing a group and then there's being a complete fucking tool. This dude's a tool. This dude used LP as a shitty means of killing two birds with one stone - illustrating the "death of rock radio" (radio has been dying for twenty fucking years, pull the stick out of your ass and grow the fuck up, download Spotify, dumbass) and dissing the band that everyone loves to shit all over but secretly loser-raged out to in the early 2000s. This fucking guy probably loved Hybrid Theory when it came out and is too ashamed to admit it. I don't think I've ever been this annoyed reading an article. The moment that other person posted about this series of articles, I knew this would end badly once it got to LP. I knew this dude would use this opportunity to wank and whine about radio while shitting all over the biggest target of the 2000s. I'm shocked he didn't mention Green Day, too. Basically fuck this guy.
