  1. I listened to about half of it but I decided to stop. I'm just going to wait. It's pointless. The thing sounded out of order as if pieces of the song were shuffled or moved around. And I've seen some people say it's been edited. That might be why. This is getting a bit tiring with all these different previews. I'm still not putting down a final judgement until we get the full unedited 5 minute and 42 second song. Cause if I'm not mistaken, this trailer is missing 1 minute and 20 seconds of the song.
  2. When you say "who is with me", do you mean who is cumming with you? If so, NOT ME! I'm not gay! If you mean who is going crazy from hearing Chester say "Lift me up", I'm with you!!!!!!!!!! Lol, just messing with ya.
  3. He is correct about one thing though. Mike did say that the remix "feels kind of like the album" and that it was like the winner had "already heard the record". However, after that, he said that the remix "sounded like the album in parts". I think Mike was just exagerrating the similarities at first. It sounds like he was just saying that the remix maybe resembled some songs on the album or parts of a couple songs. I definitely think there will be songs on the album that don't sound anything like the winner's remix.
  4. I have a feeling that part of the reason it won was because it was really electronic. Perhaps they wanted the winner to be something that fit in nicely with the rest of the album.
  5. Hey guys, when is the next album coming out after A Thousand Suns? COME ON LP, HOW LONG UNTIL THE NEXT ALBUM AFTER A THOUSAND SUNS!? A THOUSAND SUNS IS HOLDING UP THE NEXT ALBUM! OMG! HURRY UP AND COME OUT A THOUSAND SUNS! DAMNET! This is making me so angry that I hope the only track on ATS is a song called "Holding up the new album". Ok, needless to say, but I'm just joking about all this. I just thought of that because Phoenix said on his twitter that someone asked when the next album after ATS was coming out. HE LUL'D.
  6. I just don't think it'll happen, at least on one night. I'm not sure how well they've rehearsed all the songs but it seems unlikely they'll be ready for all of them come tour time. If they did it though, it could be good or bad like others have said. Depends on how many songs people like. The reason I probably wouldn't want this is because the album is probably going to have one or two songs that most people don't like. Meteora had one or two songs like this (Hit The Floor or Nobody's Listening?) and so did M2M (In Between or V-Day). Coincidentally (or maybe not), the band hasn't played those songs live often. Unless they plan on playing more than the usual 20-23 songs, it probably wouldn't work out too well, at least for me. I could see them playing all of the songs from ATS, but just not all at one show from track 1 to 15. I think it would work better having the songs from ATS distributed differently on 3 different set lists.
  7. Yea, that's true. I remember them saying that one song from the sampler had Brad soloing at the end of the song. I'm sure there will be solos on other songs though also.
  8. Well, there goes my hope that this song would maybe have a secret TOTALLY unexpected guitar solo which we haven't heard. I'm hoping we will have more guitar solos on the new album though. That is one good thing that the band learned from M2M and they need to improve/continue on it. Even though he says there's not a lot of guitar, the guitar that I've already heard from the previews was awesome. It was subtle and not loud, but it was still enough to make the song much better. Maybe it doesn't need a lot of guitar. Just some guitar in the right places which I think it has.
  9. Last night, I was still feeling 50/50 on whether the song would be amazing or mediocre. Wow, isn't it amazing how one or two previews can change a perception. After hearing these new previews, my excitement has doubled. It's now more like 70/30, awesome or mediocre. I now believe this has the potential to be the best song since New Divide. I know some people will say "you're overreacting! It's not that amazing. Wait until the whole thing!" Still, I think I had an orgasm hearing the third preview. The "Lift me up, Let me go" sounds COMPLETELY different than it did in the snippet Mike posted, in terms of production. Thank you Mike! This is how you should sound and how I love your voice. Completely raw and emotional. The production was NRL like. And the guitar in the third preview, even though somewhat subtle, adds a WHOLE new feel for me. It actually had a familiar LP feel, maybe a bit like ATL. I know why I love the third preview. It's the first preview that combined some things I love about Linkin Park. You've got the strong guitar. You've got Chester's singing which he has once again taken to another level. You've got some Mr. Hahn. You've got the piano. And you've got Mike's singing, not overproduced. If nothing else, the third preview is a sign of hope for me. It tells me that the band I grew to love is not completely gone. They didn't change into a completely different entity that I can no longer recognize. There's still some Linkin Park here. At least to me. I think it might stay.
  10. First off, for those people who actually said that LP was going to take a more electronica approach on the new album, I give you props. When some of you said that months ago, I was skeptical. This song proves you were right, at least to some extent. The overall sound of the album is yet to be determined. Who knows what it will be. However, I think there is little doubt that this song will shed some light on what some of the other songs will sound like. I think there will be other songs like this with a techno/electronica sound. I'm not even going to bother judging this song until the full thing comes out. Every snippet we've heard has been pretty different so who the hell knows how it's all going to sound flowing together. Based on every snippet though, I'm feeling 50/50 about it. It could turn out to be a fucking amazing song or it could turn out mediocre. I'm happy as hell to hear Joe's scratching again. Mike's vocals still sound a tiny bit overproduced but everything sounds much better than the original stems. Regardless of what anyone says though, I still believe that there will be rock songs on this album. I'm not sure how many or how hard or soft they will be, but I truly believe we will have some soft/hard rock songs that are closer to the sounds of the previous albums. It's still hard to know what the overall sound will be like.
  11. http://www.mediafire.com/?l1v0q6d5ln4t162 Ok, here's mine. I was like 5 minutes late past the deadline. Shit, oh well. This wasn't going to win anyway and I wasn't really in it to win it. I spent about 7 hours on mine or so. Unforunately, there's a BIG problem I had with the mixing and I wasn't able to fix it. Part of the remix is soft as hell and part of it is loud as hell. You pretty much have to listen to it with headphones to hear it. Just make sure your volume is down at 58 seconds because that's when it gets super loud.
  12. I remember on the 6 track sampler that there was one song (I think #5) which the author said had Chester repeating the line "I'm Losing What I Do not Deserve." He said it stood out from the rest of the tracks on the sampler. I wonder which song from this tracklist is that song. Not enough information to figure that out for sure I guess.
  13. Wow, I don't really know what to make of this. The names are definitely surprising but the first thing that caught my attention was 15 tracks. That's a pleasant surprise. This is going to be by far their longest album. And by far some of the weirdest song names I've ever seen but...I think I know why.
  14. It's so nice to see some ATS related videos popping up now. Should be a sign of more things to come. I knew that this album was going to have some screaming, regardless of whatever direction they decided to take their sound. Like someone else said before, it just wouldn't be a Linkin Park album without some heavier songs and screaming. I knew we wouldn't lose that. And I have faith that there are also other things from past albums that won't be lost on this album either.
  15. Not to be self centered, but I'd like to see them tour with Hotspur. Or should I say, I'd like to see Hotspur tour with LP. It would get them some well deserved attention and I think quite a few people would like them.
  16. Am I missing something here? How can we say based on 6 words that they're still writing about similar song meanings? The song is 5 minutes and 42 seconds long. I have no idea what to expect from the lyrics/meaning of this song. We've heard "Lift me off/Let me go" but we've also heard "god bless us everyone, we're a broken people living under loaded gun." And the latter example sounds nothing like anything the band has written before (sounds more like 2pac). Based on what we've heard, I won't be surprised at all if the lyrics go in a completely different direction than any other LP song. And by the way, this might be a surprise but the band doesn't use the word "lie" as much as it seems. There are only 3 tracks out of 13 on Meteora that use the word "lie" or some variation of it. And on M2M, there are only 5 tracks out of 12 that use the word "lie" or a variation of it. Not too bad. Anyway, this 5 second clip gives me more hope for this song than the stems we heard. IMO, Mike actually sounds more like himself in this one. He doesn't sound overproduced or monotone like he did on the vocal stem for the remix.
  17. How awesome would that be, if against all odds, the picture ended up morphing into a link which led to a website that had 30 second previews for every track on the album and ALSO had a list of U.S tour dates for early next year.
  18. There are some things about this that confirmed my worst fears and then some things which got me excited and made me still have hope for the album. Hearing about a guitar solo at the end of a song is awesome. Also, hearing that the other 6 tracks (which I guess no one has heard yet) are most likely going to be more Rock oriented is a sign of hope for me.
  19. Are you serious? I guess the rules changed. I thought I remember him saying on his blog post that the only real rule was you had to use one of the stems. Oh well, there goes my idea...or at least part of my idea. Edit: http://www.myspace.com/pages/linkinparkofficialrules wow...ok
  20. Hey Alex (gigascythe), I'm not sure which stem you plan on using for your remix but if you decide to record vocals, make sure you use your sennheiser E825 and not your AKG Perception 220 . Cause yea, it'll sound SO MUCH better Just joking ha. I wonder though seriously how much the band will judge the submissions based on quality/production vs musical creativity/composition/execution.
  21. I don't think it's fair to judge Mike's vocals on something that sounds just so horribly overproduced. What I love about Mike's vocals is that when he sings, there is a sense of vulnerability and emotion. No Roads Left was just so emotionally powerful and In Between had the vulnerability. You can't get either of these things when his vocals are so weird and overproduced. I was one of those people hoping to hear more of Mike's singing on this album. Just not in this way with this type of production. I could see myself loving this song if it's produced differently and I think it will be. I don't think the final release on August 2nd will sound like this, production wise. I honestly couldn't recognize Mike though the first time I heard it. To me, he doesn't sound like himself on this.
  22. Did anyone see if they gave a deadline for the contest or when it ends? I'll just guess the obvious for now which is before September 14th. And maybe even before August 2nd.
  23. Don't forget Xefuzion. He's made full remixes in the past for New Divide and Blackbirds before they came out and he did it based on 15-30 second previews. Good for him. Now he has an even bigger incentive to do this. Can't wait to hear what he comes up with.
  24. Man, this really sucks. As long as he doesn't leave DBS next, I'll be cool.
