  1. I'm a bit nervous about doing this because I don't think I've seen anyone else list a few of the songs that I'm about to list. Oh well, at least I'll be unique. This is actually tough for me to do, just because there aren't very many LP songs I dislike a lot. To make this more simple and interesting, I'm not going to count any of the interludes from ATS as being "songs"...and some of them really aren't to me anyway. In fact, I might just discount all instrumentals/interludes and only include songs with original lyrical content. Anyway, here's my top 5 least favorites (excluding ATS interludes, etc): Note: These are in no particular order 1. Robot Boy 2. Qwerty 3. Valentines Day 4. Until It Breaks 5. This one took me a while to think about. The first four came to me pretty quickly. I'm going to go with either Hit The Floor or Roads Untraveled. And between those two, I'll pick HTF.
  2. What an amazing demo. There are definitely parts of it that make me want to say it's better than IBG. You can definitely hear more of the folk sound in this demo. Not a surprise since Chester said most of the songs on LT basically started out being folky until they evolved into the final version. I guess it sort of reminds me of ATS in the way that it's longer (even longer than The Catalyst, though longer songs aren't exclusive to ATS since that started on M2M with songs like Little Things). And then obviously the electronic buildup part starting around 3:18-3:19 leading into the vocal bridge. That definitely has ATS written all over it. Oh yea, and one other thing. The electric guitars being relatively low in the mix. Because of that, in some ways, I wish this would have been the final version, just to see how different the mix would have sounded. The mix sounds pretty polished for a demo but had this been the final version, I think the electric guitars would have been made louder on the parts where they can be heard, particularly starting at 2:24 where Brad does the bridge guitar part without Chester's vocals (amazing) and also starting at 4:41 and on the final chorus. To me, it's pretty clear why this wasn't chosen as the final version (especially in retrospect looking at how long the other LT songs ended up being). It's not that IBG is superior to Primo. It has more to do with the length of it. And I think that IBG fits in better with the 1st half of the album, even more so than Primo would have fit in with the 2nd half of it.
  3. Wow, my friend went to this show. It was her first time ever seeing the band live. Can't believe there were issues on two different songs and no COG. Wowzer. That would have been hilarious if Chester was like "fuck that song, let's play Across The Line" and then they actually did.
  4. First song confirmed! They opened the set with Debris! (ok...not really)
  5. Well, my opinion doesn't really mean much because I've probably been wrong many times on predicting what songs the band is going to play for a given show and when they will debut. That being said, I still really believe that either Powerless or IBG is going to get a debut sometime between now and March 4th. My gut tells me it's going to be Powerless but...I won't be surprised come March 4th if they still haven't debuted anything or played anything besides slight variations of what's already been played.
  6. Geese, let's just wait until WID is over before we say that. Brad might come up with some crazy improvisation on the solo and then it will be the high point of the show.
  7. I'm sure I'll be the only person to rank the lead singles in this order but I'll go with: 1. What I've Done (score: 10/10) 2. Somewhere I Belong (score: 9/10) 3. The Catalyst (score: 8.5/10) 4. One Step Closer (score: 8/10) Years and years ago, I probably would have had OSC ranked higher. In retrospect though, I would go with this order. OSC isn't a bad song. It just doesn't impact me the way it used to like those other 3 songs still do.
  8. Always appreciate that man's bluntness. He's not afraid to tell you what he thinks, regardless of whether other people agree with him.
  9. Unlike ATS (where I had little to no expectations on how good the album would be or how it would sound), I actually do have an expectation for this album. And my expectation for this album is that it's going to kick ass. The more I hear about this album and the more I don't hear (the lack of information we've had), the more excited I get. In some ways, the lack of information up till this point has increased my excitement. I know it's done the opposite for most people because they don't have anything to get excited for. For me though, knowing less is sometimes more exciting. It's exciting because it means (at least in my mind) that the possibilities are still endless and it could sound like anything. Not sure if I ever felt that way with ATS (due to the type of album it was among other things). Now that we're getting some more solid information though, my excitement is still very high and I still feel like this album could go in many different directions, all of which are good ones. I haven't really heard one thing yet that makes me worry.
  10. Guys, check this out! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Living_Things_(album) It even says the genre is Alternative rock. I wonder if they're using this album to get ideas for their own album. lololol By the way, that would be awesome if LP's album cover was like that ^. And they MUST have a song with a name as awesome as "The Big Cats of Shambala".
  11. This might be old news to some of you but have you tried using the sudo solve trick again? Go to the terminal and try doing Sudo Solve. You'll get a wonderful surprise. It looks like sudo solve won't be an option anymore from this point forward.
  12. Imagine if Mike would have said this after people started showing dissatisfaction over ATS:
  13. Yea, that was a band called Tribal Ink. The person who made the torrent basically created a compilation of Tribal Ink songs and he also mixed in some Grey Daze songs. It was an absolute fail attempt. It tricked me for maybe 30 seconds (mostly because I was paranoid about how the album would sound at the time). As soon as I heard the Grey Daze songs and saw the tribal ink lyrics online, it became clear.
  14. The good thing is that this article will most likely be proven correct or incorrect within a matter of days or weeks. We'll see if his/her description for Burn It Down holds up and is even remotely accurate. I think you can safely say it's false if you don't hear Chester and Mike screaming "burn it down, let it go" on the chorus, if you don't hear ANY screaming on the chorus, if you don't hear "modified voices leading into distorted guitars", etc etc etc... There's definitely some vagueness in the article but I think the person provided enough specifics for Burn It Down to be able to tell whether or not the song fits his description. And if BID does resemble his description...then who knows.
  15. I guess the band was peaking out the window when coming up with songs or song names. Chester: Hey Mike, omg, look at the breeze outside today! Mike: Yea, it looks like it's getting ugly out there. I just saw a lightning strike. Chester: Yea, it doesn't matter though. I just saw a dove! The dove always fly, no matter what! Mike: The dove always fly? Don't you mean "the dove always flies?" Chester: Yea, I do. I just like how "the dove always fly" sounds. We gotta make a song name out of that. Mike: Gotcha.
  16. I think I remember that. Wasn't it a radio station in the UK? Second thought, maybe french.
  17. Like most of you, I think the article is fake. There's just something telling me it is. And it's more than just my heart wanting to believe it's fake. I think it's also some common sense things. "Burn It Down/Let it go."? Gee, that sounds a little close to "Lift me up, Let me go." And the lyrics given for Lost In The Echo are just....yea...horrible. Even if some things were lost in translation, It's just....bad. Finally, Lightning Strike is just a lame/strange title (stranger/lamer than Robot Boy). Also, I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a full album review, but it only goes over 7 tracks. I think it's a safe bet there will be more than 7 tracks on the album. With all this said, I don't want to totally discount the article just based on the track names. After all, I remember having doubts about the track listing for ATS when it was announced and that ended up being real. When you take everything into account though, I believe there's a good chance this is fake.
  18. This is a good time for me to end my 6 month absence of not posting. There's been some big news the last couple weeks but this is the biggest. Perhaps Burn It Down will be the secret sequel to Burning In the Skies . With two sources backing this up, I don't see any reason to doubt this. This news fits together with some of the other things going on such as the recent video shoot. It's a fairly vague name though. It doesn't really say what the song will be about or what it will sound like. If the single really does end up coming out April 16, then it has huge implications for the album release date. What I've Done was released a little more than a month before M2M. The Catalyst was also released a little more than a month before ATS. If this ends up happening, then I have to think this album isn't coming out any later than June. And that means that Rolling Stone and a couple other sites which have pointed towards Fall/November are wrong.
  19. I was thinking about that. It's just one angle from one point of the crowd. And if I'm being honest, the first time I watched it, it didn't seem like the crowd was that crazy for APFMH either until Chester started doing the "go away" parts. Up till then, the crowd reactions seemed the same. However, might just be me, but I think the crowd got loud for Mike right as he went into the chorus on NRL between 2:01-2:04. Really though, none of this matters to me. NRL needs to be debuted in full, regardless of the crowd reaction it gets. As Mark said, more people need to discover this song. And that's part of the purpose behind the band playing it live. The more that they play it live and the more that people go online to hear the studio version, the more that it's going to grow on people and then they'll be even more excited when they hear it live again. There's absolutely no reason why it can't become as much of a fan favorite as LOATR or any other ballad. Cause frankly, it's just as good or better. And if crowd reaction is so important, they might as well forget about playing Robot Boy because the majority of casual fans couldn't care less about hearing that song. And unlike NRL, many have heard it. They just don't like it.
  20. And I was one of those people in that contingent. I remember hoping that it would debut at PR 2007 even though I knew it wouldn't happen. Did the same for the US Tour, PR 2008, etc. And then sometime after the Pomona show in 2009 (Epicenter), I pretty much accepted that they would probably never play it live. Later of course, the band said they didn't like how it sounded during the rehearsals and then I forgot about it. Fairly obvious why the crowd didn't react and go crazy. Most are probably not familiar with the song or don't know the song. And it probably caught them by surprise also. Absolutely amazing though. It's really funny this happened. I was just joking the other night that No Roads Left would debut during the encore at one of the shows on this tour. I've been joking about that for over a year though and never thought there was any real chance they'd play it. Hopefully, it's a sign of things to come. Maybe the song can get it's full debut at a show in the future. For someone who waited long to hear it though (and thinks it's one of their top 10 songs), this is good enough for me at this point. Awesome and unexpected.
  21. Just for the sake of being different, I'm going to predict the opposite of what most people are predicting. I'm going to say that we see Robot Boy debut during the middle part of the set or No Roads Left debut during the encore. Or maybe.....BOTH.
  22. If Pooch is tired, I'll trade places with him. Maybe he's thinking "♫♫ All I wanna do is trade this setlist for something new, holding onto to all these same SONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGSSS ♫♫"
  23. It's interesting to note that Adele is performing at the Itunes Festival also in 3 days. I'm sure she's hanging out in London somewhere? It would have been cool if they brought her in to do something. Maybe do those choir background vocals on Rolling In The Deep.
  24. Live debut of She Couldn't...I can sense it...ok not really.
