I hope it's early Spring, like maybe March or April. I really want a physical release for Mall...
-
I just changed the artist to ''Linkin Park & Alec Puro'' in my iTunes. Did anybody else do this? The official title in their database sucks, IMO with the super long name.
-
Yes, because Rob and Chester have both stated a few days ago that LP will start work on LP7 in September of this year. This is more or less the same pattern they used in 2011 and released LT the following summer, as well as the same pattern they used in 2013 and released THP the following summer.

Awesome!!! ''New STP starting Monday''. I wonder if they will debut a new single or something on Monday??! Pretty awesome. Also, it looks like Chester is not wearing his plugs for his ears, I wonder if he finally retired them?

Fiore puts tons of shit in LPTV and LPUTV episodes, sometimes even songs that we have never heard before. Take the LPU episode ''Mike's Shirt'' from LPU6 for example with that. I think Fiore definitely was teasing us with putting old school LP songs in the SSMF episode but LP ended up only doing RME over BIO, which they did so many other times that it didn't really make it all that special. I don't think LP will add ALITS to the set unfortunately, which sucks. Maybe...
-
Yeah, I guess. It's probably because I listen to a lot of much heavier bands a lot of the time that I wouldn't consider it heavy metal, maybe hard rock. It's definitely rock though and for LP it's pretty heavy, I agree.
-
I can definitely hear the strings in IBG, it's just buried in the mix. Listen closely with good quality headphones or maybe listen to the song in Apple Lossless. I don't think Primo is a better song at all, but they should have maybe made the strings a little louder in the mix. Yes, but with Apple Lossless now, I can just pop the CD in my CD drive and I can import it into my iTunes in Apple Lossless without purchasing anything online, downloading anything, etc. I also like to have physical releases from LP because I like to collect the music.
-
Does Mike honestly think that ALITS is ''heavy metal'', let alone anything LP has released?
-
Awesome find man. I love hearing news or discoveries about Chester's other bands that he was/is a part of, way better than hearing boring LP news until they change up the set or release new music.
-
I don't think that he was ever approached. I think that was just a rumor. But I could be wrong. If it is true, I would almost guarantee that the label wanted Mike to appear on the song to boost sales for Evanescence.
-
Damn. It's going to be a feat to collect all of them.
-
How many DSP's have been released in total?

Papercut and Somewhere I Belong from Milton Keynes that were released as bonus tracks are a bit pointless, IMO, because honestly you can hear them on the RTR DVD and just rip them from that if you really wanted to. Same with the alternate mixes of SOTD, ATL and NRL, you can get all of those songs on CD (MTM, LPU9, MTM Tour Edition), the only difference is that they are an alternate mix. So to me, they are all the same, but to a collector, they might be different. Blackbirds is the only truly ''exclusive'' track from all the iTunes bonus tracks unless you wanted to rip it from the 8BR app but it won't be as good of quality.

Yes. I would love to hear it too. To quote Chester from 2012. ''All of a sudden we were writing hippie folk songs. Like ''Skin To Bone'' which is like this crazy-electro beats that are pounding your face. But when that was written, it was like a simple folk song. Where it began and where it ended up, they are miles and miles and miles apart.'' SOURCE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4hq7JBK3EQ It's really a shame if MALL never comes out on CD. I want to rip it into Apple Lossless. Jonas said that MALL would be getting a CD release this year, but I honestly doubt it because they are promoting it as a DVD + mp3 bundle everywhere and I don't see the point in them promoting it forever, technically it's been out since June of last year, but October if you count the ''official'' release date.

Yeah. The reason that I said ''beginning of ATS'' is because that was before they went super electronic with the album. I still want guitar and drums like on MTM, but I want more mature lyrics and really good vocal performances, etc.
-
Idk about that... In my mind, the LT touring cycle ended in August 2013 after the Asia tour. Same way I don't consider 2005 and 2006 shows as Meteora touring cycle, I don't consider 2009 to be MTM cycle, etc.

WTF is Wobbuffet??

The Hunting Party will most likely end this year after the band is done touring. What are you guys expecting from LP7? I saw this thread over at LPA and it intrigued me. I personally have no idea what direction the band will head in, and I also have little to no expectations because I'm confident it will be awesome, they haven't disappointed me yet. Chester has recently stated that they want to continue on with the high energy attitude and make songs that are fun to play live, but he isn't sure if they will continue on with the heavy rock sound of THP. He said that either way, though, they just want to make high energy songs that are fun to play live. I think LP7 will be a mix of THP and LT, probably. LT is my favorite LP album, so that makes me very happy. Of coarse, I could be completely wrong, no one knows what LP will do. Basically, I hope LP will write some solid songs that aren't trying to impress people and just make them GOOD. I want lyrics similar to those of MTM and ATS and I want solid vocal performances from Chester. That is basically all I want. I used to want screams but THP has satisfied that need for me with songs like KTTK, War and Rebellion. What do you guys want to hear from LP on LP7 and what do you think the band will do?

During the Making Of MTM Webster Hall version, Mike showed us different band members doing HHH.

Is there any news about the song ''Horizons'' that LP did with Steve Aoki? I know it's going to be on Neon Future 2, but Steve Aoki said it's supposed to come out this year so I was wondering if there was any idea for a release date. Summer 2015 maybe? I really can't wait to hear the song... It's going to be epic most likely.
-
Yeah, me too. They'll probably just play a few random shows in the US this year and tour the rest of the world for the rest of the cycle.
-
I'm pretty sure there is a proshot of this. Nevertheless, this is awesome.

Nice find. I didn't know that the label pushed DBS to be more commercially appealing. Could this be the reason why stuff like the early version of 'My Suffering' performed in 2008 went away for the more radio-friendly album version? I remember back in 2005 when everything about this album was described as much different from the final product in 2009. It was supposed to be more moody, dark and stripped down, which is what Ryan also said in 2012, too. But just listen to the 2005 performance of 'Let Down' and you can tell it sounds more moody, dark and stripped down. Really nice find with this quote.

A lot of them are just small cities. Take Albany for example, which is the capitol of New York, but after you have been to New York City, it makes Albany look like a small town. It's definitely a ''B Cities'' tour but it's a bit different then in the past, like in 2008 when they did a ''B Cities'' tour because even that tour had shows at places like Madison Square Garden, Staples Center, etc. It seems like they wanted to play in smaller venues to kind of capture that punk rock sort of feel, which is kind of cool, especially since Rise Against is one of the opening bands.

Yeah, 'Devil's Drop' definitely is very folky, you're right. Another folky song they had was 'Three Band Terror' on LPU13. We all know it ended up at the end of 'UNTIL IT BREAKS' on the album, but the original demo for it was very folky. Mike said that they kept the first verse and first chorus of 'CASTLE OF GLASS' the same on the album as it was on the original demo, and that part of the song has the folky feel, too. 'SKIN TO BONE' and 'ROADS UNTRAVELED' you can definitely tell had folky origins as you said, but it seems like they wanted to make all these folky songs sound heavier and they added heavy guitar and beats to these. I bet LP has a lot of folky shit lying around from 2011-2012. That period of the band really intrigues me...
