What file format were the live show downloads released as? I found a folder of the first show I downloaded in 2008 and they're .wma, which is odd, but knowing how little I knew about computers in general back in 2008, I might have converted them

And has anything come of releasing those downloads free on LPLive now that the official site is gone? I remember mention of it at the time but haven't seen anything of it, because if those aren't the original versions of the files, I'd like to get my hands on them somehow

Why so many people think that Iridescent is a single from ATS?

I don't think that. It's a single from Transformers soundtrack album. The arguments are:

1 - the artwork of that single is in the Transformers style not in the style of album ATS or other singles from ATS;

2 - the single have individual version of the song Iridescent and that version is not available on the album A Thousand Suns;

3 - back cover of that single says: track 1 from the reprise album Transformers: Dark Of The Moon - The Album

You are right, it should be Transformers OST single I think.

Quick question about the LPU 30 days free trial. When the 30 days are out they don't force you to buy any membership right? It just over and you don't have any access to the restricted LPU

Yup

Because the song was going to be a single whether it was on the Transformers soundtrack or not.

Living Things had "I'll Be Gone" on the sticker.

Yeah but the version was released on the soundtrack album, not ATS. I think it should be treated like Reanimation singles.

I remember Mike once said the hidden track on Part Of Me never had a title. Does anybody remember where/when he said that?

Still haven't found it, but I've found this:

Supposedly someone asked Mike about it either in an interview or at a Meet and Greet or something and he said that Ambient was the name of it, but it's all just speculation.

It's in a reliable interview... I'm not sure where it is placed though... if you look through the News section or LP Chat it should be there.

That was in 2005, and I've still never tracked down said "reliable interview," so...

Also, I lose about a dozen brain cells every time I see someone refer to that track as a Session demo.

Does anyone know which software is Mike using in this video?

Also I want to know if the same software, or something similar, is avaiable for an android phone.

Thanks

He's using Maschine. For the second part of your question I prefer someone else to answer, I'm not an expert enough.

The official SBD recordings are all released in mp3 320kbps (except Nottingham 2008, which was 160kbps). Probably someone converted to wma, yes.

Not a question but I want to store it somewhere:

Apparently that except from the demos we knew that were on mp3.com the band uploaded My December as Linkin Park and High Voltage, Step Up and Carousel as Hybrid Theory.

Not sure as they've never really headlined their own big "festival style" show outdoors in the USA, ever, except like Sunset Strip Music Festival. I don't think we can count Rock on the Range, etc. All of their shows have been clubs, arenas, amphitheatres, etc. It's hard to say, I really don't know.

Well, they played here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Manuel_Amphitheater, but I don't have any information how many came. Also, I think LP is much bigger in Europe and China.

Then judging from that, I'd say these shows fall somewhere in that range. 30,000+.

I guess SSMF didn't have over 20,000.

The 2012 show got 24,936 in attendance and the show gross 1.7mio$

The 2004 show got 24,648 in attendance and the show gross 785,198$

The 2007 Show at Hyundai Pavilion got 20,399 in attendance and gross 883,229$

Well, I always wondered, if they can play bigger shows or not. I mean look at Germany. They can play shows and shows here and sell them almost out. They also get not that "much" money from shows in the US, in comparison to other acts who are as big as LP.

In this episode, while the Carnivores Tour takes a couple days off, Mike returns to the studio to demo how he makes a basic track. Software used: Native Instruments Maschine, Ableton Live

Aparently, LivKontrol sort of works with Ableton.
