For anyone who missed it or hasn't seen Mike's formspring yet, here's a quote: "We've been sending songs out to some amazing remixers lately. The first one came from Does It Offend You, Yeah?".

Reanimation part 2??? and this sounds awesome.

This will be the third official ATS remix, or possibly the fourth, depending on when it comes out. In addition to the Bobby Bloomfield DIOYY? remix of The Catalyst, the King Fantastic remix on that same EP was also an official LP-commissioned remix that wasn't related to the fan remix contest. The b-side to the Waiting For the End single is also listed as "The Catalyst (Guitarmageddon DIOYY? Remix)," so that may actually be a second remix done by Does it Offend You, Yeah?

I'm assuming the GBC remix of Wretches and Kings is the same track that Scoop DeVille's mentioned working on.

I didn't know about the King Fantastic mix and I just assumed the Guitarmagedden DIOYY? remix was the same as the other one, though it might not be.

I'd imagine that if LP commissioned the remix, they'd provide stems or at least an instrumental. It's quite possible it could just be a loop though.

It's kinda cool they're open to remixes again, but honestly, I'd prefer older material. I understand wanting to shy away from that for a while though after Reanimation. I just don't know if these songs lend themselves to being remixed as well.

I heard of those guys from NIN and man, they have the worst band name I've ever heard.

I've been thinking a bunch about Reanimation recently and how much some of the rhymes on that album just don't fit with the theme of the songs and make it awful. For example, "Runaway" is amazing, then it's like, "let me rap how cool I am over this" and just fucks thing up. "Papercut" is a good example of how it should be. A Thousand Suns seems like an even worse album to try and do that with. If they're going to remix stuff, it's gotta be approached differently. I think the King Fantastic remix is awful and it's just a re-hash of this shit. "Wretches" actually makes sense because it has that feel to it. I feel this remix is going to feel a lot more natural.

I didn't even think about it earlier, but there's 4 official remixes now - 3 being for "The Catalyst". I think it's overkill to have so many remixes of the same song (especially two by the same band? Come on.) That isn't fair to those who entered the remix contest. Weren't the top 20 supposed to be considered for this stuff?
