hahninator Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Contrary to what I posted this morning.... "A Thousand Suns" takes the #1 spot on the charts 1 - LINKIN PARK, WARNER BROS., 253,685, "A THOUSAND SUNS" 2 - TREY SONGZ, ATLANTIC, 244,103, "PASSION PAIN & PLEASURE" Source here. Congratulations to Linkin Park for another #1 debut! Quote
dark_master Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 250 000! Great! Congrats, Linkin Park! Quote
Biggiee2180@aol.com Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Thank the lord! I can barely tolerate the music world as is, and if LP came behind Trey Songz I would have flipped shit. Music has become nothing but poppy hits and it's destroying the world of creative music. Hip hop's dead? Rock's dead! It gets shit respect and appreciation compared to 10+ years ago. Its sad cause I'm sick of seeing bands kick so much ass on their albums and live and get shit from the music world. Quote
luki9875 Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 so they done it AGAIN. CONGRATS LP!!! Quote
RoddY Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Hmm... I've figured it out! If they release an album once every 3 years, the build up and excitement gets the fans pumped, we rush out to buy the new music, request multiple radio and Music TV shows to play it and LP get a number 1 debut. THAT'S WHY THEY TAKE SO LONG! THEY DO IT ON PURPOSE! But seriously, congrats LP. Well deserved. Quote
Lotsa_spaghetti Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 YEEEEEEEEEEESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
hi_c21 Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Hell yes. Congrats to LP. They deserve it. Curious to see how they match up against maroon puke this week. And what happens when WftE hits radio... Quote
leftshoe18 Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Congrats to LP. Though I've never seen the big deal about chart positions. Quote
RoddY Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Though I've never seen the big deal about chart positions. It's so that we can shove it up the haters Quote
leftshoe18 Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 (edited) It's so that we can shove it up the haters But what if Trey Songz debuted at number one and one of his fans decided to bash you for liking Linkiin Park? Would you be unable to defend yourself because LP took the number 2 spot? And at the same time: would you feel like Trey Songz is better if one of his fans pulled out the fact that his album went #1? It seems like a pretty weak stance to say that an album is better based on sales. Edited September 22, 2010 by leftshoe18 Quote

But a band that can make an album that sells millions of copies must be doing something right. Quote
D_Enigma Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 That was a tight race, but congratulations to LP for taking the number one spot. Quote
LPjahova808 Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 I know a lot of people say chartings don't matter as long as the music is good, and its definitely true, but I can't help but be happy for LP Quote
lp_faint43 Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 ATS is number 1 in New Zealand aswell Quote
maik_gianino Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Excelent, LP is the best, now and ever... Quote
JZLP-Benningstrong Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 that's pretty good congratulations boys quick question who has sold more records this year? Quote
jessiexo Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Probably Eminem... 741k is a big number, especially considering the amount of downloading that goes on now. Quote
thesungoesdown Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Thank God all is right in the world. Trey Songz makes the most cliche r and b shit for women. LP put so much effort into making meaningful music, glad they got rewarded with the #1 spot on the billboards. Although 250,000 k first week sales is a bummer for LP standards, it's good to see they still got the #1 spot. Congrats LP! Quote
