hahninator
Linkin Park is gearing up for their Chester tribute show that is taking place on October 27th at the Hollywood Bowl. Since the show is billed as "Linkin Park & Friends", we will undoubtedly see some great special guests step onto the stage for what is likely going to go down as the first show of the new chapter of Linkin Park. When Mike was on KROQ, he said that the list of guests has not been finalized yet, but they are still working on it. The band has appeared to meet up already to discuss the show and start preparing judging by pictures (1, 2) that they have posted on social media. So who can we expect to see at the show? There are a few big guests that we would assume would at least show up (maybe perform?)... like Jared Leto, Kiiara, Corey Taylor, Robert DeLeo, Ryan Shuck, and/or Travis Barker. Jay-Z also plays in Anaheim that night, but since it's his first show of the 4:44 Tour, we can probably count him out. In terms of other guests, we can think of maybe Jeremy McKinnon from A Day to Remember, Austin Carlisle or Aaron Pauley from Of Mice & Men, Ryan Key from Yellowcard, Tim McIlrath from Rise Against, and/or Machine Gun Kelly. And of course there have been lots of historic/classic guests with the band in the past... the most popular being anyone who has ever stepped foot on stage for One Step Closer (Jonathan Davis of Korn, Aaron Lewis of Staind, Doug Robb from Hoobastank, Christian Lindskog from Blindside, etc). We have a master list of guests here. There has been one time in the band's history where they have played a show with guests on every single song... the famous Warped Tour show of 2014. So while this will be "new ground" for the band, they have do have experience with composing a set featuring quite a few guests. Mike is an absolute master at mashups, medleys, and composing unique pieces for shows... just look at the Roads Untraveled/Fallout intro in 2017 or any Fort Minor setlist. So no matter how much we speculate, the band will undoubtedly surprise us with one of the most unique shows in their history. But remember, it's not about what is played or who steps on stage at all - it's a night of remembrance and celebration for the best singer in modern rock. This is a show where the band doesn't need to feel any pressure whatsoever from fans about what they do or how they do it; people are coming from around the world just for the experience. Of course songs might be messed up - who cares? At the end of the day, Linkin Park just stepping on that stage is a huge feat itself and for that, we are grateful. CONFIRMED GUESTS: Avenged Sevenfold (M. Shadows & Synyster Gates) Blink-182 Kiiara Ryan Key (Yellowcard) Oliver Sykes (Bring Me The Horizon) Machine Gun Kelly System Of A Down (Daron Malakian, Shavo Odadjian, & John Dolmayan) Korn (Jonathan Davis & Brian Welch) Jon Green (The Bonfires) No Doubt (Adrian Young & Tom Dumont) Zedd Echosmith We are very thankful the show is being played and look forward to an incredible night with fans from across the entire world. Shoutout to those flying in from far away places like Hong Kong, Argentina, New Zealand, India, Japan, all over Europe, and more! See you on October 27th. Mohnjorrow
I am so pumped for this! This is going to be very very emotional for everyone. I can't think of a better way to pay respects to Chester.

I can't think of a better way to pay respects to Chester. It truly is an event I've never seen another band do in the history of music. LP is a HUGE band. Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Nirvana, etc never did anything like this. It's going to be really great and is one of the most respectful things I've heard of in music. lakersfan13
Doing scouting on these things is one of my favorite things to do. Off the top of my head, Hov (as mentioned) is playing Anaheim that night. Difficult, but not impossible. Devil Wears Prada is playing in LA that night as well. Again, difficult but not impossible. The deplorable Machine Gun Kelly, most unfortunately, will be free. His tour ends in Russia 10/24. Here's hoping he's flying back with United. Ryan Key and Jared Leto are free, as is Kiiara. Vinescence
Perhaps the guys from Incubus and System of a Down? They've been friends with LP since forever
JZLP-Benningstrong
Coret Taylor will play with S. Sour the 28th at a place very close to Mexico City it's kinda possible that he can make it to the tribute show.
Yucker
Tim McIlrath from Rise Against is playing that day in Sweden so he won't be there.
RiderSSPU
My guess is we will see some unexpected guests as well as the expected guests. Jared Leto will for sure be there. I know they are on tour with Muse but that those tour dates were very, very spread out and by previous posts in this thread it sounds like he is free. I was going to say Tyler Carter of Issues but it looks like they have a show that night.
Geki
Gerard Way was the first person I thought of that should be there, especially with all the nice things he said about Chester after his passing. Besides him, I think these people may be there (in no particular order) - Jared Leto and possibly Thirty Seconds To Mars - Kiiara - Daron Malakian and/or System Of A Down members - David Draiman (He said some nice things and seemed really upset with Chester's passing) - Jacoby Shaddix (A possibility because he also said some nice things and he may be free) - Ryan Shuck and/or Julien-K - Jay-Z (I doubt it, but you never know) - Travis Barker and/or Blink-182 - Steve Aoki - Jonathan Davis (Honestly probably won't be, but maybe. Maybe Head will go to try and patch things up) - Aaron Lewis (Wouldn't surprise me with his recent tributes live and what not) - Corey Taylor (If he can make it, or is invited, I am sure he will probably go, he liked Chester) - Robert DeLeo and/or Stone Temple Pilots - Fred Durst (A bit of a far stretch but it's possible) - Ryu (Again, a far stretch, but it's a possibility. I know Tak wouldn't probably go, though). - Austin Carlile and/or Aaron Pauley and OM&M (I know Austin isn't in the band anymore but they might all go) - Machine Gun Kelly (Unfortunately) - Snoop Dogg (Would probably be awesome but I doubt this one the most) That's my guess so far. However, I don't think we should judge based off of that Warped Tour show. I don't think a lot of those guests even said anything when Chester passed and a few didn't even really seem in tune with LP. We need to look at all the friends of LP over the years and collaborations on albums and stuff, also tour mates from the big tours like Projekt Revolution's, etc. Edited September 21, 2017 by Geki

Would be nice to see them with the band again. Machine Gun Kelly was already a support act on this tour anyway, so I guess he will be there. Snoop Dogg was supposed to open the Hollywood Bowl show, so it would be cool to see him there too even if he wasn't close to the band. Austin Carlile can barely walk, I doubt he would perform. All the other names you mentioned are great choices though. I think other good choices would be Jimmy Gnecco (of whom Chester was a huge fan and who sang at Chester's funeral), Rene Mata, Jon Green, Stephen Carpenter and Chino Moreno of Deftones, Wes Geer of Hed PE / Korn (who performed One More Light with Ryan Shuck), Alec Puro of Deadsy, Grey Daze (or at least Sean Dowdell), P.O.D., Incubus, and Hoobastank. See you on October 27th. I wonder, if we could come up with a list of locations attendees will represent. Maybe we can even decorate a venue with flags... Band historically used to put flags on stage to demonstrate their dedication to the fans, maybe this is the time when we demonstrate ours that way? Looking at the photos from the venue, seems like it is going to be possible.

wertercatt
Hey, for those of you who want to try and make an audience recording, here's the Hollywood Bowl's rules. Looks like any real camera is going to get confiscated by security at the metal detectors, but if you can record on your phone with the screen off and without it making noise you should be okay. I just looked this up myself because I want to record what might be the only LP show I ever get to attend and figured I'd post the info here too. thedamian58c
I think other artists/bands that weren't mentioned, that I think could possibly be there are Oli Sykes/BMTH and Camp Freddy. It truly is an event I've never seen another band do in the history of music. LP is a HUGE band. Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Nirvana, etc never did anything like this. It's going to be really great and is one of the most respectful things I've heard of in music. I know Suicide Silence had a memorial show dedicated to Mitch Lucker, who also killed himself.
