rahulsethi Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 The band has just released a new, acoustic version of their single from The Hunting Party, 'Final Masquerade'! While the band has performed it acoustically at various LPU Summits (Darien Center and Woodlands), this is a brand new version featuring a duet between Mike and Chester and a new guitar line than previous performances. Download the new version of 'Final Masquerade' here! Mike on his blog stated, "Hey everyone, We made something cool the other day, and we wanted you to have it. Here’s a special unreleased acoustic version of Final Masquerade. Stripping it down to bare bones brought the sentiment of the song right to the surface. Thanks for all your support over the past couple months – we hope you enjoy the song." Brad added on linkinpark.com, "In this stripped-down intimate version, the words and storytelling lead the way. I loved working on this special recording of "Final Masquerade", and we're excited to share it with our fans." What do you think of this new take on the song? It adds a new story-telling vibe to the already beautiful song, in my opinion. It's also a treat to hear Mike singing the song! Quote
lpliveusername Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Anybody else having problems loading the page? Quote
Kirstie Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Love it! Wish I could download it properly to my phone but nevermind. Towards the end is it Mikes voice layered or another vocalist? Quote
irresistiblecookie Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Pretty good. They should perform this live. Quote
Fleur de Lys Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Do you know that Phoenix played the cello part, or are you just assuming? Quote
RogueSoul Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 If anyone's having issues downloading it, PM me. I'll help you out. Quote
Casey27 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Go to youtube and sort by date uploaded and you can find it there. Quote
ChazyChaz Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 I love this version. It makes me relax! Quote
RogueSoul Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Updated the link in the main post. It's a MEGA link now, shouldn't be any problems. Quote
Southpaw262 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 This is the best duet I've heard from the band! They should consider writing more songs this way. I'm not a fan of acoustic, but this is pretty good. Won't download for me on phone. Good thing it's on YouTube already. Quote

Jani Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 (edited) Wasn't expecting it to be this different. Love it and appreciate the effort they put into it Edited February 19, 2015 by Jani Quote
kiq fLP Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Copying the comment from a LPA's user, but is what I felt in the moment that I heard it: Fantastic version of a fantastic song ^^ Quote
linkinepi Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Epic as fuck, ten times as epic as any solo in THP. They should record more acoustic stuff. Quote
Chris Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 I'm gonna be that guy I guess. I don't think it's as mind-blowingly amazing as everyone keeps making it out to be. It's just okay. Really not understanding everyone's love for it. I just can't seem to get acquainted with the main guitar part, and I don't really like it. Quote

Astat Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 (edited) ...I have no idea where the hell people are getting that this was recorded at the Machine Shop acoustic show, but this is CLEARLY not a live recording. Mike harmonizes with himself at numerous points in this. This is 100% a re-recorded studio version. Do you know that Phoenix played the cello part, or are you just assuming? Almost the entire first post in this thread is one giant assumption. Edited February 19, 2015 by Astat Quote
Andros Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Good song, I think if LP do a really unplugged performance that is the style. Quote
crawling1986 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 (edited) Chester sounds beautiful here. Edited March 20, 2015 by crawling1986 Quote
Tyleronlplive Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 I haven't listened yet, but is it possible that they recorded this the other day when they posted an Instagram picture of all six guys in the studio talking? Quote
Justin Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 There's no way this is from that acoustic performance. This is a studio recording lol. It sounds good, it's interesting. I like Mike's vocals in this, and Chester also sounds great. Quote
