  1. Total length of album > number of "full" tracks, as far as I'm concerned. Metallica's first four albums all had between 8 and 10 tracks on them, but they were all well over 45 minutes in length.
  2. That's the number of days they were on tour, not the number of shows they played. A lot of sources took that statistic and misquoted it as them having "played over 300 shows in 2001." When you factor in all the days in between shows where they're still on tour, a couple travel days at the beginning/end of each tour, and periods where they had a handful of days between the end of one tour and the start of the next where they probably didn't get to spend much time at home, my most conservative estimate of their touring schedule for '01 would be around 275 days, and that's with me not even knowing what their schedule for rehearsals, video shoots, etc. was, which would likely factor into that number as well.
  3. I wouldn't consider It's Goin' Down a cover because all the vocals on the original are by Mike and the FM performance is essentially just him rapping over the instrumental from the original track (Mike also wrote the majority of the song himself in the first place). I'd consider Numb/Encore a cover though since they used Jay-Z's Encore chorus for their live version of it.
  4. http://onstagemag.com/ar/performance_linki...magic/index.htm was the link to the original article, but it doesn't work anymore. LPZion reposted it though: http://lpzion.org/artykuly/wywiady/57
  5. Easy there tiger. That's the type of post I would usually make.
  6. http://lplive.net/forum/index.php?act=find...&pid=149967 Big difference (legally speaking) between rehearsals and performing. The insurance company can't really control what Chester does on his own time. If he's under doctor's orders not to perform until, say, October 31st, but the show isn't until mid-November, there's really nothing preventing him from taking part in it. I just assumed that Chester's shoulder surgery would require a long enough recovery that he'd have to cancel this appearance.
  7. Bumping this just to see if there's any additional info yet...Ryan tweeted today that he has rehearsals for both Julien-K and DBS coming up, but has it been determined if this is the DBS appearance? I figured this appearance would have to be cancelled because of Chester's surgery.
  8. It's really hard to justify voting for Hybrid Theory when it's on a list that includes albums like Pretty Hate Machine and Appetite for Destruction. Now if they were to narrow it down to the last 15 years...
  9. LPUX was teased in August last year with the "coming soon" website, but the details weren't released until mid-November.
  10. LMAO @ seeing a shanky shank thread get bumped. Ahh, memories...
  11. 100% positive that's the live version from LPU6. This has been discussed before.
  12. I believe that was actually related to the reason they had to cancel those U.S. shows later that month - when Chester was sick, he went to the hospital and had to get tested for a few different things. They did a spinal tap on him at that point, so the tape was probably just what they used to cover the hole from the spinal tap. The reason they ended up having to cancel those shows wasn't because he was sick, it was because the hole didn't heal up properly and he started leaking spinal fluid. Hard to make up festival appearances when the festival promoters are the ones that booked LP in Pensacola, not the other way around.
  13. If he did, it was uncredited, but I don't think it's him anyway.
  14. The DMCA notice was on the front page when LPL hosted the What I've Done leak.
  15. FYI, whenever a situation like this happens where someone is under doctor's orders not to perform, it's usually a liability issue that actually keeps them from performing. An unfortunate side effect of being in a major band is that whenever you go on tour, you have a BIG insurance policy taken out in case something happens to you while you're on tour. In Chester's case, something did happen, and once he saw a doctor about it and was told he needed surgery, continuing to perform would probably void his (or more accurately, LP management's) ability to make an injury claim under their insurance policy, or even void the policy altogether, which would mean they'd be losing a TON of money, way more than they would've made back by going on with the performance. So, in a nutshell, if you're going to be angry about this, blame it on LP's insurance company. Chester is probably physically capable of performing (he finished the Asian tour with the injury, after all), but it's really out of his control. *Edit* I'm guessing this will probably result in Chester's appearance at that one benefit show/the rumored DBS show next month being cancelled as well.
  16. If they actually got DMCA'd by Warner for hosting DSPs, there'd be a takedown notice when you visit the website. The generic "account suspended" notice usually means they did something that whoever was hosting the website didn't approve of (which is consistent with their "having issues with the server" explanation), which could mean any number of things. I really doubt this is something that specifically has to do with DSPs. On a side note, I've never understood why this website is called "LP American" when it's a Brazilian website.
  17. Oh boy, here we go again.
  18. Entirely possible that they changed the setlist at the last minute and had varying versions printed up, it's happened in the past (Milton Keynes 2008 comes to mind), although the one on the left looks a little odd to me, at least in terms of font size.
  19. Those shirts routinely fetch those kind of prices in eBay auctions. In terms of LP-related shirts, the only ones that I can think of that are worth more are Grey Daze shirts.

    LPL + You

Just chipped in with 10 bucks...I have to pay rent in a couple days so I can't be spending too much, but having been a part of this site for about as long as anybody, I figured it was the least I could do.
  21. Aww, screw it. I get paid this week, and I've been saying I'd get around to re-joining LPU for a while now, might as well do it now to get in on this. BRB, gotta grab my Visa card.
  22. Most DSPs from the beginning of 2011 onwards, as they lack Wisdom, Justice, and Love...
  23. Watching video from the show, there was absolutely nothing wrong with Fallout - totally normal performance of that song. Empty Spaces, however, was stopped and restarted. Right when Brad came in with the megaphone, the sample of the crickets and stuff abruptly cut out, so he just kept going with the megaphone for a few seconds, then they restarted the rest of the track.
  24. Yeah, looks like it. Huh. I figured there was no way one of their techs would be familiar enough with the songs to be able to play a full show.
  25. 1. I doubt Empty Spaces was actually dropped. Whoever reported the setlist probably just got confused by Brad's megaphone blaring over it. 2. I can almost guarantee that Phoenix's bass parts were punched in from multitrack files of another performance. This is something that the band didn't have the ability to do (or at least something they hadn't thought of) on the Minutes to Midnight touring cycle, which is why Kurt played Chester's guitar part on Shadow of the Day at that one Australian show. Up until this point, they've only had to use the punch-ins during rehearsals, but I figured they'd probably do something like this if a member other than Mike/Chester/possibly Joe had to miss a show. 3. Blackout being dropped probably has something to do with Phoenix using the Z-Tar on that song, and Fallout probably just had technical issues with Mike's vocoder like it has several times in the past.
