The promo cycle continues! Linkin Park are starting promo across Europe this week, beginning in Amsterdam, The Netherlands for an intimate event with Chester and Mike. Mike and Chester will be at the Melkweg today, March 24, in Amsterdam at 3:00PM. The event is dubbed "Up Close with Chester and Mike from Linkin Park: One More Light," so we're expecting a few things. First and foremost, it seems like this event will largely be some form of Q&A session. The event was open only to contest winners who filled out a forum, and one of the criteria was a question for Mike and Chester to answer. There's more than just that, though. A similar event going on in Paris, France next week promises an intimate acoustic session mixed with a Q&A, so we can definitely assume that a couple songs will be performed at this event! Linkin Park are gearing up to start playing a few more stripped down versions of songs, as we've seen in the last few promo appearances. There's quite a few songs they can choose from when considering what song's they've already played: 'Crawling,' 'Burn It Down,' and 'Heavy' which all debuted at the Facebook Live event, and even new songs from One More Light including 'Talking To Myself' and 'One More Light,' clips of which we have seen from the Warner Bros Records Party. There are likely plenty more songs that Mike and Chester could play in this fashion, but we'll have to wait and see what they are. What to expect: Mike and Chester played this piano version of 'Heavy' last week while doing promo in Toronto, Canada. Since it's just them two, it's pretty likely that any songs they perform will be piano versions just like this one. What songs that haven't already been played in this way would you want to see? A slow track like 'My December,' or perhaps a ballad version of 'A Place For My Head'? Don't say the latter. It was a joke. EDIT: It appears that a livestream will be taking place tomorrow at 4:00PM CET, around the time when event will be starting. It seems possible that the livestream may be of this performance. In any case, the band will go live from their Facebook page - here's a countdown so you don't miss it (and check your timezones here). Whether or not it is an independent event or the same one, check back here for updates. This string of European promo performances precede the band's big performance at the ECHO Awards in Berlin, Germany on April 6. Next Monday, March 27, Mike and Chester will be doing an event just like this one in Paris. All of these performances are still about a week and a half away from when the band will perform at the award show, and it feels pretty weird for the band to be showing up in multiple countries now instead of closer to the date of the ECHO Awards. We can definitely expect some more promo performances around Europe, perhaps in England, Spain, and so on in the coming weeks. Maybe even some sort of secret club show will happen and we'll see the band's first full show on stage since 2015! Anything is possible at this point. Who's going to the show? We've already secured a couple of fans via Twitter and Facebook who will keep us updated, so if you want to contribute and help us get info about the show, be sure to follow us there and message us when you can! Make sure to stay here so that you don't miss any info about the show. Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2017 touring schedule here.

Linkin Park is heading to Europe for One More Light promotion at the end of this week, and the stops along the way are slowly being announced. The first stop is in Amsterdam, where Mike and Chester will be hosting an Up Close and Personal event in Amsterdam, Netherlands. That's March 24, and there's a week and a half of time left for the band to do more promo before the big ECHO Awards performance in Berlin, Germany on April 6 with Kiiara. We are predicting that the band plays a few more promos shows - possibly even a full show - before then, but now we have at least one more date. Mike and Chester will be visiting Paris, France on March 27 - that's Monday. They will appear as per Virgin Radio at Le 118, and appearance is being advertised as a "private acoustic showcase," meaning that Mike and Chester will be playing some acoustic versions of songs! This seems like the first opportunity to hear some more stripped down versions of songs - we've heard a couple already: 'Crawling,' 'Heavy,' and 'Burn It Down' at the first Facebook Live event, and then 'Talking To Myself' and 'One More Light' at the Warner Bros. Records party. Like with the Amsterdam showcase, you can win a chance to join them at this intimate event by filling out this form (make sure your Adblock is off). You'll have to answer a question, but it won't be too hard for you lot. Make sure you only enter if you can make it to Paris on March 27. A bit of Linkin Park trivia before we end the post - Linkin Park's first European show ever was actually a promo performance in France. We don't know the setlist for that first show in Paris 2001, but a day later they appeared on the Nulle Part Ailleurs show and performed 'One Step Closer,' making it their first television performance ever. Take it back, old-school style with the first televised performance the band ever did. Who's planning on entering the contest? If you are, good luck! As mentioned before, a similar show is occurring in Amsterdam on March 24 which you can win tickets to (link above). This seems to be more or less the same event in a different city, so that all but confirms that some acoustic songs will be performed in Amsterdam, too. Be sure to follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page for updates on these shows. Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2017 touring schedule here.

Just thought I'd share this here, awesome live performance of 'Big For Your Boots' from Stormzy.

Mike and Chester (and presumably the rest of the band) will be heading to Europe next week to do some promotion for One More Light ahead of their performance at the ECHO Awards in Berlin, Germany on April 6, where they will perform 'Heavy' with Kiiara. Before that, they'll be making a few stops on the way. Mike and Chester just finished doing some promo in Toronto, Canada the other day, conducting plenty of interviews and even playing a piano version of 'Heavy' a couple of times for various radio stations. At the end of this little venture, Mike posted a picture on his Instagram story noting that the next promo stop would be in Amsterdam, Netherlands and they would be there on March 24. That's pretty far ahead of their performance in Berlin, so we're expecting promo performances (maybe even a full show or two) to happen, but looks like some other interesting things will be happening. Watch Mike and Chester perform the piano version of 'Heavy' for the first time at 102.1 The Edge. On March 24, Mike and Chester will be part of an intimate event in Amsterdam, and you can win a chance to go see it! Hosted by Brand New Guys, a small outfit specializing in physical and digital experiences with consumers and businesses, you can attend the event by submitting this little form that asks for your name, email, cellphone number, and a question you have for Mike and Chester. It seems to be open to everyone, but you'd probably only want to submit a form if you live in Amsterdam or can make the trip there on March 24. We're not really sure what this event entails, but it'll sure be an interesting experience. It seems to just be Mike and Chester, so a full band show is out of the question, but there's always a chance they play a piano version or two of a couple songs. Maybe they'll even preview some new music from One More Light! Let us know if you're entering. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates on what goes on at the event. If you're entering, good luck!

Wonder if they're adding a Russian show to the end of the current European tour. Time's running out.

We're all anxiously waiting for the next sound from One More Light even though 'Battle Symphony' only just got its official reveal yesterday. Maybe it won't be too much longer until the next taste from this album! Looks like 'Good Goodbye' may be on its way soon! Amazon UK recently put up some information regarding the song 'Good Goodbye,' mainly the features, and they're huge: rapper Pusha T and grime artist Stormzy! It's likely not a blunder that Amazon would put this up or get the artists wrong, so this looks trustworthy. Linkin Park officially released 'Battle Symphony' yesterday. You have likely at least heard of Pusha T - he's the legend behind 'Trouble On My Mind' and 'Numbers On The Board' - and given his popularity as a hip-hop artist, its no surprise that Mike would want to collaborate with him. His latest song 'Circles' featured Ty Dolla $ign and Desiigner and goes pretty hard. We're excited to see what he has to offer. Pusha T has collaborated with the band before - he featured in the 'I'll Be Gone' Vice Remix on Recharged and dropped some pretty fire bars. If you're not in line with hip-hop or UK grime, you may of have hard of Stormzy, though. Let's fix that. Stormzy is a UK rapper who has been leading the grime genre for years, his music filled with fast paced beats, great rhymes, and awesome instrumentals. His debut album Gang Signs & Prayer was recently released, featuring his banging single 'Big For Your Boots' on it. He's gained so much momentum, he even performed with Ed Sheeran at the BRIT Awards this year. For more on him, either (shameless plug) check out my review or delve into some of his hits - you won't be disappointed. It'll be interesting to see what he contributes to 'Good Goodbye,' but for a rapper of his caliber, it'll definitely be great. Check out Stormzy's single 'Big For Your Boots' from his debut album. What do you think of the song? Excited to see both rappers on 'Good Goodbye'? We've gotten a lot of tastes of One More Light music, but we can't wait to hear some more. We've already heard four songs (including the live clips of 'One More Light' and 'Talking To Myself'), so we have plenty to keep us hyped. Perhaps even more exciting for us means these songs will all likely get performed live, and counting 'Invisible' and now 'Good Goodbye,' that brings up a potential 6 songs from the album to be performed. That's pretty much matching how much they played from Living Things and The Hunting Party by the end of their touring cycles! Bring on the shows - which may be coming soon! We'll keep you updated on when 'Good Goodbye' is launched. Be sure to sign up on the forums to contribute to the discussions and follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page so you stay updated. Thanks to LPA for the heads up.

A new band on the scene, Sun Never Sets, has released their debut single 'Not Giving Up,' and it features Linkin Park's very own Rob Bourdon on drums! This is a brand new song built from an old collaboration. Sun Never Sets is the project of Ryan K. Giles and Adelitas Way's Rick DeJesus. You may remember Giles from the LPU Sessions all the way back in 2013, when two winners were brought to the studio to work with Linkin Park. His track 'Truth Inside A Lie' made it onto the LPU XIII CD, also featuring Rob on drums. Also on the CD is 'Change' by Beta State. The drum track from this track is presumably from this same session back in 2013, obviously put to more music and expanded upon. Interestingly enough, Linkin Park's engineer Ethan Mates is responsible for the mixing of this track as well. Check out more information for the song on it's brand new Linkinpedia page. What do you think of the track? If you like it, support the new music and purchase the song on iTunes. This isn't the first feature Rob has had over the last year - he featured on Zayed Hassan's 'Sailing Through The Clouds,' released in September, as well. Hassan was the grand prize winner of the Stagelight Monthly Music Contest in October 2015. For more Linkin Park news, follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page! Thanks to LPFC for the heads up!

Mike and Chester are heading to Toronto, Canada tonight to do some promo tomorrow for the upcoming album One More Light, and it looks like they'll be doing a bit more than just some interviews. Chester just tweeted that he "can't wait to play 'Heavy' with Mike tomorrow," indicating that the two will likely be playing an acoustic or piano version of the song during an interview. All we know now is that if there is a performance, it'll be at least 'Heavy' and just Mike and Chester. Phoenix is also flying out soon to do promo, but he's going to Germany, where Linkin Park will be performing 'Heavy' with Kiiara in a few weeks at the ECHO Awards. Promo means interviews, and interviews - typically - mean answers. It's al but confirmed that the band will be performing some shows before they start their world tour in May, but no dates have been announced yet. What better way to announce some Canadian shows than an intimate performance? The band has played several songs in a stripped down format during the promo cycle for the record besides 'Heavy' - 'Crawling,' 'Burn It Down,' and new songs 'Talking To Myself' and 'One More Light' have all been played in this format. Maybe we even see more than one song played at these Candian promo appearances, but that seems slightly less likely. Check out the stripped down version of 'Heavy' streamed live on Facebook When Mike and Chester perform the song, we'll have you updated. Check back here and follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page for updates. Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2017 touring schedule here.

You've probably already all heard the second track from Linkin Park's One More Light, but now it's officially out! Cleanse your consciousness, because now you can listen to 'Battle Symphony' without any guilt. We know you listened. Don't lie. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. In conjunction with the official release of the song, which is now out on all platforms (iTunes, Spotify, etc.), the band has also shared a brand new lyric video. Now you can learn and sing-a-long to the song as you listen. Because you totally don't know it by heart by now. The lyric video contains a lot of awesome cinematography (with some fantastic colors). Drone footage was used for the video, and some of the footage from the first photo/video shoot back in January seems to have been used in it. Watch the lyric video - what do you think of it? 'Battle Symphony' is only our second taste of new music from One More Light. We can expect at least one more song before the album is released on May 19 - probably 'Invisible,' as it was performed for a later showing at the band's show at The Late Late Show With James Corden. The band also performed acoustic versions of 'Talking To Myself' and 'One More Light' recently, so maybe we see those soon, too. The band will likely be performing a show or two very soon - they've been rehearsing A LOT - so we'll probably see songs performed live at those, too. They're heading to Germany in April to play the ECHO Awards, and we're guessing they'll play a show or two around there around that time. Lots of things coming soon! Lots of soons. Mike and Chester are currently in Toronto, Canada and Phoenix will be heading to Germany to do promo, so perhaps we'll hear some more clues as to when the band will be performing. Follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page to make sure you don't miss out on anything.

Thanks for all the work you're doing dude, none of this would be possible without you.

It's called having an opinion...? I think this is an amazing song, just because I like it doesn't make me or anyone a little kid.
-
On Genius, annotation in green are artist-verified unless otherwise stated elsewhere. That being said, Genius is pretty reliable because you don't have people upvoting random crap about music to be approved. It's based on a system of upvotes, so if someone's interpretation is completely off it'll be downvoted. March 17 is a Friday and that's usually when music is released, so it's more of an educated guess if anything. No one really knows if there are collaborators credited with the song either, it's just safest to assume that those were the three members of the band that wrote the track.
-
This would make sense if the song was called something like "Battle Cry" or "Battle Call." The word "symphony" really doesn't scream something aggressive - it moreso represents something beautiful, which the song embodies. Plus, it does actually include a symphony.
-
First impressions of this song: I like it a lot. There's a very genuine message to the song that's present in both the delivery and the lyrics. It's a song about never giving up in the face of something huge, because you'll always have a symphony of people important to you backing you up. I love in the first chorus where its quiet with just Chester and the light marching drum in the background, giving it a hero's vibe as it builds up back to a classic electro-LP beat. There's just a lot of sweetness and pleading in this song that makes it, for me, a real winner. The entire chorus is just beautiful - and it's all Chester. The final chorus kills me with that final delivery of "This is my battle symphony / Please just don't give up on me." Really sweet and powerful song. Very empowering and relatable. In comparison, I do like 'Heavy' more than this song, but I do think both are very great songs and are intrinsically Linkin Park. The same thing happened with 'Heavy' that I expect to see here with 'Battle Symphony': the first few days are all about the negativity but then people will slowly start growing on it. The beat is pure poppy-Linkin Park (very reminiscent of Living Things, in fact I'd call this song a poppier 'In My Remains'); it has a modern, summery vibe to it with a slight hip-hop touch to it. This song to me is a Minutes To Midnight reincarnation of 'In My Remains' with electronic elements. There's lots of electronics going on in the background, and the swelling synths that occur in the verses are the pure LP formula, and the powerchords in the choruses are definitely gonna sound great live when they're brought up. I'll probably write more about it on my site or in some form of editorial here, but these are my first impressions.

That may be one of the filthiest remixes in Linkin Park's career, jesus. Imagine them playing this live, holy shit!

At this point, you would've thought that the band's upcoming summer European tour has been completely confirmed, but it seems there is a possibility that the band may be adding one more show to it: the United Kingdom. The band's production manager Jim Digby tweeted a picture today of the crew getting one of the band's summer touring rigs ready for their European Tour then. What's interesting is that the paper taped to the rig says "UK June A-Rig," hinting that they may be using that rig in the UK. EDIT: Digby replied saying: "sorry y'all it's just the freight destination where it gets on the trucks" This could mean multiple things. What seems most logical given everything we know is that the band will be using the UK as the "storage" area so they can ship out the rigs to the rest of Europe from one centralized location. On the other hand, a Pheonix interview from October 2016 says the band has a UK Tour planned for this year. Normally we would cite something more recent, but so far everything he said about the timeline in that interview has been correct: music released early in the year, a European Tour, Asia Tour, US Tour (which we could've guessed regardless), and a UK Tour. There is definitely time at the beginning of the tour: the band (or by extension, Mike) doesn't have to be in mainland Europe until June 7, as Mike has a keynote address to deliver at a music tech convention in France on that day. They could easily play a few shows at the beginning of June and the end of May. What are your thoughts? It seems feasible, but it's all a matter of how you look at it. The One More Light touring rumors thread was just updated with the latest information, so be sure you check it out an discuss other rumors there. The band's next performance is at the ECHO Awards in Berlin, Germany, so we may be on the verge of the band's first full performance - it seems pretty unlikely they fly to Germany for just a single song performance alone. Mike said the band has show plans for March and April, so something will definitely be coming soon. Follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page for the latest info on the band! Check out the band's 2017 touring schedule here.

That would be crazy. I know we still find out about more collaborations nearly every week, but I would've thought we would have heard something about this. Interesting to me that the next song being released isn't one of the songs they've performed yet. Half the album will have been out to the public (in some form - fans heard 'Invisible' live) two months before the record's out. I would have a problem with it, but unlike THP the song's aren't technically revealed yet, and if anything this is all an indication that we'll actually see a decent amount of songs from this record played live! 4/5 songs we know about (assuming 'Battle Symphony' is coming) have been performed live, and even though 'Talking To Myself' was acoustic, we can pretty much assume at least the title track, 'Heavy,' and 'Invisible' will be performed full band. Really shaping up to be an interesting cycle, especially on the live scene.

Amazing find dude, thanks so much for sharing!

Lovely video. Hopefully this puts the perspective of the song into some people's eyes.

Bumping this because Linkin Park Japan and the promoter have said the announcement will come in Mid-April.
