A new week, a new round of promo. The band will be spending quite a bit of time in Japan before they head to South America to begin touring for One More Light, Joe and Mike having already been there for a couple of weeks and Chester joining in yesterday. Mike and Chester are beginning to do promo in Tokyo, and will be playing at least one show there (on NTV News Zero) so look out for a few acoustic songs later. Here's all the interviews we can gather from today - let us know if you find any more! For the sake of not repeating the same "we focussed on lyrics" and "its a softer album," we'll only highlight some of the newer information. QQ China: Every member of the band pretty much sticks to their own niche. On Living Things, Brad tried to write songs on piano and Mike played all of the guitar. Chester even said he asked him "when are you going to play guitar?" The band want to return to China, but haven't solidified any dates yet. The band has rehearsed songs both full band and stripped down. At the band's first show in China, they could tell fans who weren't very familiar with them, there was a reaction that they didn't really understand the angrier songs, but by the end they all sort of understood it. The next album could be literally anything; Chester joked that it might be a polka/reggae record. Chester used to hate love songs early in the bands career, until he wrote 'The Messenger.' For everyone who keeps asking the band why they changed sound, Chester says to look back at who you were five, ten years ago and see how much you've changed.

As per Sean: "Yes it is going to happen probably in August-October Myself,Mace, Chester, and Jason Barnes from the Wake Me album"

Something about this feels a bit off. Feels like LP has been organizing this tour for a long time for the Blink rumor to just come about now. I think we would've heard about this earlier had this tour been more... noteworthy? Maybe that means they only play a few shows with Blink? Maybe I'm just being overcritical

Linkin Park at the Whisky, February 28th

did you not look at the post above you? lmao -
Guess my Machine Gun Kelly predication is staying that way: just a wrong guess
-
They did the same thing with The Hunting Party, so I'm pretty sure they won't play the full album.
-
We should have an update on this soon.

I wonder if they'll announce more shows during their Japan trip? 3 Tokyo shows seems weird. The good news about this is that this confirms the band will probably have three rotating setlists (or at least rotating parts of one setlist). Even they wouldn't play the same set in the same city three times in a row.

Linkin Park are returning to Asia! Ahead of Mike and Chester's visit to Japan next week, the first dates from the band's One More Light Asian Tour have been announced: the band is heading to Japan in November. The tour dates are as follows: 2017.11.02 - Tokyo, Japan (Makuhari Messe) 2017.11.04 - Tokyo, Japan (Makuhari Messe) 2017.11.05 - Tokyo, Japan (Makuhari Messe) Details of Linkin Park's upcoming Asian tour first dropped around the time when 'Heavy' dropped. Mike announced the touring plans for the rest of the year in an interview with KROQ, citing November as the time when the band would be in Asia touring. Japanese promoters H.I.P. soon followed suit and teased a promo of an announcement for Linkin Park's Japanese shows, due for announcement in mid-April. Here we are. Linkin Park has been very generous with Japan, with tons of memorable moments over the years. The band's first shows there were in 2001, in Tokyo and Osaka, where the setlist featured a rare Chester solo performance of Jane's Addiction's 'Jane Says,' only performed a handful of times. The band also performed in Nagoya, but we don't know the setlist for that show. The band returned in 2003 on the Meteora World Tour where they had a three-night residency at Tokyo's Nippon Budokan - the only time the band has ever performed at a venue three times in a row. The setlist had new additions every night - Night 1 had a new intro for 'Numb,' Night 2 saw the return of 'My December,' and Night 3 had 'Nobody's Listening' return to the set. The band escaped from the studio in 2006 while recording Minutes To Midnight for the epic Summer Sonic 2006 shows, featuring the band in top form and playing rare tracks like 'QWERTY' and 'Reading My Eyes.' 'QWERTY' was debuted on Summer Sonic 2006, becoming one of the only songs to be performed before being released. Since then, the band's trips to Japan have always been special. The band returned there in 2007, 2009, 2011, and 2013. Some great moments include Dead By Sunrise performing at the three shows in 2009, the only live appearance of 'No Roads Left' (Mike sang it over the bridge of 'Bleed It Out' at Night 2 of the 5th LPU Summit in Chiba and the following day in Yokohama) and the rare appearance of 'Reading My Eyes' over the bridge of 'Bleed It Out' at Summer Sonic 2013 in Osaka. This will be the band's first time back to Japan since 2013 after skipping them on the tour for The Hunting Party, so the fans will definitely be hungry for some new music. One of the best performances on the entire Living Things touring cycle is this epic rendition of 'Lost In The Echo' at Summer Sonic 2013 in Osaka. Who's excited?! Linkin Park's touring schedule is really shaping up now. All that's left for 2017 now seems to be a North American tour... we know the band is eyeing August, September, and October for that tour, so we'll have to see how that shapes up when it gets announced. If you're planning on going to the shows, let us know! If you're in Asia, don't fret just yet, as we expect the band to be heading to many more countries there - be sure to check out the Tour Rumors thread for more info. Linkin Park begins the One More Light Tour on May 6 at the Maximus Festival in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The band recently announced a special release show for One More Light in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 19, as well. Oops, just put the link in the post now.

We know One More Light is on the way, but it looks like the real tunes are on the way. It seems like a second volume of MMM... Cookies is on the way! Mike and Chester were together filming a video today with an unnamed YouTube collaborator, and they were doing some tricky stuff. Apparently, if this tweet from Mike can hold any leverage, they played 6 MMM... Cookies style songs that will be coming soon. The video is all that's been recorded so the audio still needs to be recorded in the studio, but this may be the best news the Linkin Park community has gotten in years. For those who don't know, Sweet Hamster Like Jewels From America! is an EP recorded by a group that go under the moniker of MMM... Cookies. Really, though: the original MMM... Cookies was released in 2008 as the yearly LPU album, featuring silly songs from Linkin Park's Minutes To Midnight recording sessions. These songs feature some of the greatest lyrics this band has ever come up with (and they weren't even focussing on lyrics!) and the strongest output we've seen from them, well, ever. You can learn all about this epic album on its Linkinpedia page. MMM... Cookies is an unrivaled masterpiece. Haven't heard this yet? Stop whatever you're doing and listen to some real music here. Jokes aside, this will be a cool surprise if it actually does get released. It's always refreshing to see the band loosen up and just have some fun with things - the game they played the other day is a testament to that. While I'm sure some of you probably want this more the One More Light at this point, OML is still due out in just a month, so we're finally getting in gear. We just have one more thing to wait for now. Will soon ever end? Follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page so you don't miss out on any new music.

Things are heating up! Linkin Park is scheduled to start their tour very soon (May 6 in Buenos Aires, Argentina), but we have a special show lined up for after their brief South American venture. Linkin Park will be performing a special One More Light release show in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 19! This show will be a celebration of the band's new album One More Light that is due out on the same day. The show will be held at The Chelsea - a new venue for the band. This will be the band's first performance in Las Vegas since Rock In Rio USA in 2015. The show is part of CBS Radio's SPF Nights (short for SUN.POOL.FUN) and will expand that event to two nights. The next night will feature DNCE, Hailee Steinfeld, Post Malone, and more. For right now, Linkin Park is the only performing act on the May 19 event. The band has a thing for bringing special events to Las Vegas. At the Rock In Rio show, the band debuted The Hunting Party epic 'A Line In The Sand' live. In 2014, the band's setlist at their warm up show for the Concert For The Philippines in January featured the only performance of the studio version of 'Wake' since 2008. That set also featured big tracks like 'When They Come For Me' and 'Somewhere I Belong.' The night before at a secret event, the band performed a full version of 'A Light That Never Comes' for the first (and only) time with the entire band. The band performed at Planet Hollywood in Vegas in 2013, where they began playing 'Castle Of Glass' for the first time in a full setlist. In September 2011, the band performed the Minutes To Midnight version of 'Cure For The Itch' there for the first time since 2008, and earlier in the year, Vegas was the first show back after a few days of cancelled shows after Chester's sickness. Long story short, legendary Linkin Park moments happen in Las Vegas. Watch the live debut of 'A Line In The Sand' at Rock In Rio USA 2015 in Las Vegas here. So far, this show is the only announced U.S. show of the One More Light tour. We're expecting a tour announcement for a full tour in North America soon, likely spanning across anywhere from August to October, at this point. Also coming soon will be details of an Asian Tour in November. Tickets will be on-sale April 21 at 10:00am PST, and the LPU Presale will be on April 19 at 9:00am PST. Additionally, a Ticketmaster pre-sale goes live on April 20 at 10:00PM PST (password SPF2017). For updates on the show, follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page. New shows are coming soon! The band's North American tour should be coming shortly, and tour dates for the band in Asia are also expected soon - Mike and Chester will be heading to Japan next week for promo, but maybe we'll even see the dates even earlier. Who knows! Are you excited for the show? Let us know if you're going! Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2017 touring schedule here.

If you can't hear the guitars after a listen, obviously the must not exist at all
-
Neither of these are official or even by a major recording artist, so there's no point in adding them to the Wiki pages.

Since it's getting a music video, maybe it's a single but not worldwide? I can see it being something like a single in Europe. Listening to the song more and looking at the lyrics, I think Pusha T is the weakest part of the song. Mike's verse may not be his standard flow but he still delivers some biting lines, and Stormzy's lines are pretty boisterous ("Let me say goodbye to my demons / Let me say goodbye to my past life / Let me say goodbye to the darkness / Tell 'em that I'd rather be here in the starlight"). Pusha, though. "A period is after every sentence / Did my time with my cellmate" the fuck is this? Feels like something he tried to do on the spot.

Based on what Chester just tweeted, sounds like this song's gonna pretty heavy. And not 'Heavy' heavy.
-
This is both disrespectful and ignorant. You don't have to like it, but for you two disregard their work and passion is just uncalled for. Plus, you'd have to really, really try to not know who Pusha T is.

I can't believe you've done this

We've all been waiting in anticipation for this new track, and it's finally hear. Another taste of One More Light is here, and this time, 'Good Goodbye' is delivering some hip-hop vibes. Earlier this week, Linkin Park posted the lyrics for 'Good Goodbye' on Genius, and there was quite a mixed reaction. The song has now been released through HipHopNMore as it slowly makes its way onto localized iTunes stores across the world - you can expect it to be available whenever it's Friday for you. The song was also briefly on Spotify and should be rolling out there as Friday comes, as well. UPDATE: The official lyric video for the track has been released. 'Good Goodbye' features rapper Pusha T and grime artist Stormzy. Pusha T has been featured on Linkin Park music before (he offered a verse on the 'Ill Be Gone' Vice Remix on RECHARGED), but this is Stormzy's first outing with the band. Interestingly enough, from what we have gathered from interviews, 'Good Goodbye' came about very early on in the recording process but Stormzy's verse wasn't added until the very end. Mike actually had two verses on the track originally. You can read up on everything about 'Good Goodbye' on its Linkinpedia page. What do you think of the song? It's pretty different from the rest - it even has a bit of a Fort Minor vibe to it. It's one of the only tracks on the record that will feature Mike rapping. It's definitely one of the band's more hip-hop driven tracks in the latest years; it even has a reference to Ray Charles' 'Hit The Road Jack' to give it that extra hip-hop flair. One thing we're all wondering: how will this song be played live? Personally, I think Mike will be able to pull of Pusha's verse, but will do something special over Stormzy's verse (something like Mike's Solo Medley in 2014 and 2015). Maybe Stormzy will come out and perform the song with the band when they head to England later this year in July. Let us know what you think! This may be the last taste of new music before One More Light releases on May 19. The band has filmed a music video with Stormzy earlier this year, so we can expect that to be released soon, as well. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook so you stay up to date with the latest Linkin Park news.

If anything that makes me respect the song more. Nothing like a good reference in a hip-hop song. I really dig this track, feels like a hip-hop version of LITE meets Powerless. Mike's and Pusha's verses are pretty solid, and I've been on board with Stormzy's appearance on the song since it was announced, but I will admit it is a bit jarring. I like it still, could've been better. The best thing to me is that there's actually a pretty mixed reaction to this track. Seeing people initially say "this is good" rather than everyone saying "fuck this" initially is actually creating some discussion. EDIT: Closing this thread, all discussion goes in the new one.

That was hilarious. Really good to see the entire band actually having fun together.
-
We must've missed the hint about THP being "heavy" and starting out as pop too. These fuckers have been dropping hints since before the last record.

This... this is excellent.

This is both hilarious and sad to read through. Imagine getting rilled up over the tone of a single word from a guest spot on a sarcastic song. Look at the facts: This song is an outlier, so maybe the real emotional quality that was present in other songs isn't really in this one. This song is about the feeling of getting kicked out of a basketball game (which probably sucks) AND getting out of a bad relationship (which sucks even more). It's a sarcastic song. In all the verses you can pretty much tell that none of it has a very serious tone. Mike's verse in particular feels really fun, not meant for some dark, "one thing I don't know why" bars. These are guest spots. Why in the hell should they have to change their normal tone for something Linkin Park friendly? If they wanted that, they wouldn't have brought in these guest artists. Their own original tone is what will make the song stand out. If the use of a word or phrase is enough for you to completely dismiss this track and move on, get over yourself. You're allowed to not like the use of it but to make a huge deal out of it is just childish. Good lyrics doesn't mean complexity. I'm not going to defend this song and say its a lyrical masterpiece. Hell, the chorus is probably the worst thing I've seen yet. But in general, people just don't realize what a "focus on lyrics" means. It's really easy to write something sappy and poetic and put it to a melody. To write a song that's essentially a conversation and carries a strong message all the same is really hard, but the band has managed to own that with the two previously released songs. I'm not going to judge this one yet because I haven't heard it, but given that it's an outlier and such I'm not going to hold it to the same standard. It's really obnoxious to keep seeing "these lyrics suck" because someone thinks "I don't like my mind right now" is a less honest and real phrase than "My mind is drowning in a sea of poison because I'm crawling in my skin". That's my rant that'll undoubtedly come up again and again because people don't learn. One thing that's necessary for music in general (and especially given that Linkin Park is a highly versatile band) is to be open to new ideas and sounds. You may not like it, but to not even try is your own fault. The overarching negativity is really killing a lot of discussion here and it's sad to see. Channel negativity into something we can talk about rather than something people will read and have to feel bad about if they like the song. Don't censor yourself, but try and illicit something more than "this is ass."
