LPU15 9th Track - WIZARD SONG (2002 Demo) [APRIL FOOLS]
RogueSoul replied to hahninator's topic in Newswire
Was Dave Sbeat worth ever hearing, though? I'd love to hear Wizard Song, but I highly doubt there's much more than what was shown in the Making Of Meteora clip. -
I'm guessing this is what happened after the event... http://loudwire.com/puddle-of-mudd-wes-scantlin-standoff-30-police-officers/

lol, that must've been interesting...

I feel like Kansas City would be the start of the tour. These two shows look like a deal where it's like "Hey, we're in the area, might as well play a show or two here and here." Go up to Canada for a show after Washington since West Coast Canada didn't get a show, then go home and play a show then a week off. Look at it like the two Canada shows in 2008 before Projekt Revolution -> they're right at the beginning of Projekt Revolution but weren't really part of the tour, and it was two weeks after Europe. It's like "we're not hitting Canada on this summer tour, let's not miss this market."

IT'S A MIRACLE! -
One last time. Chester will be joining Stone Temple Pilots on March 26, 2016 for the last time for a one-time reunion show for the From Classic To Rock event at the Norris Theater in Rolling Hills Estates, California. This is Chester's first performance in 2016, and the first show post of the year! On a less happy note, however, this is also Stone Temple Pilot's first (and possibly only) performance after the passing of Scott Weiland in December. Chester had a good run with Stone Temple Pilots from 2013 to 2015. His debut with the band was during their surprise performance in May 2013, at the KROQ Weenie Roast, where they performed an unannounced set before Thirty Seconds To Mars. 'Out Of Time' saw it's worldwide debut there, as the song was released after the show had happened. The band then embarked on their first tour together in the fall of that year, after Linkin Park wrapped up the LIVING THINGS World Tour in Asia. That tour saw the Chester Debuts of many fan favorites, such as 'Sex & Violence', 'Pop's Love Suicide', and the live debut of 'Church On Tuesday'. After debuting another High Rise EP track live, 'Black Heart', near the end of the tour in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, the band stayed quiet for about a year, playing a few shows here and there throughout the rest of 2013 (including a series of holiday radio shows) and 2014. 'Black Heart' didn't last in the setlists long, but it was a huge one live! The band didn't have another full tour until Spring 2015. A major International Tour was planned at the beginning of 2014, hitting stops like India (a first for Chester), Hawaii, Indonesia, and Australia for the Soundwave festival, but the band were forced to cancel due to scheduling conflicts with Linkin Park's recording sessions for The Hunting Party. The band played a few scattered shows in 2014, including a short four-show tour in the Fall before Linkin Park's The Hunting Party European Tour, where they debuted 'Plush', 'Sin', and 'Heaven & Hot Rods' with Chester. The Spring 2015 U.S. Tour was huge, a bunch of new songs being performed with Chester for the first time: 'Lounge Fly', 'Coma', and 'Creep'. The live debuts of the huge jam 'Pruno' and 'Adhesive' also came during this tour. And who can forget Chester's epic pink hair?! Chester's final tour with the band happened in the Fall after Linkin Park wrapped up The Hunting Party European Tour over the summer. Nothing new was debuted, but Chester was still at the top of his game. Funny enough, the band's last show of the tour was the Aftershock Festival in Elverta, California, which coincidentally also happened to be Scott Weiland's last show in the band, when they performed there in 2012. The band performed a different, stripped-down version of 'Plush' when performed live. Chester always went down into the crowd for it! We're not sure what to expect from the band's performance at this show, but we'll keep you updated. Be sure to follow @LPLive and @LiveSTP on Twitter for updates. What do you think they'll play? A song dedicated to Scott Weiland would be an awesome moment. Will this truly be the band's last performance with Chester? They're currently on the hunt for a new vocalist, asking fans to send in auditions. It seems the decision hasn't been made... but hopefully it comes soon! A few LPLive members seem to have sent in auditions (looking at you, Broman). Maybe we'll get an answer soon. We'll keep you updated. Linkin Park is currently in the studio recording the follow up to The Hunting Party and it's expected to be released later this year. Big Empty (Soundcheck) ----------------------------- 01. 02. 03. 04. 05. Notes: - The entire band barring Chester came out during Gary Wright's set and backed him up for three songs.

This is awesome. Thanks for sharing it!

Really digging this song. A lot more fun sounding and feels like more thought went into it than any of the Aoki songs.

Might pick these up, probably will get LT at least. No record stores near me to really go to so it'll be cool to get these albums.

...but they don't

I would assume he's playing it

A new track by track video for 'Chance Of Rain' from the LPU 15 CD is out now on the LPU! Mike discusses the track, and reveals that the song actually has a final title ('Voices') but they went with the demo name instead. The song wasn't included on Minutes To Midnight because the band already had a bunch of mellow tracks on the album, and they didn't want to lose a song like 'No More Sorrow' by including another slower mid-tempo track. LPU members can watch the episode here. Linkin Park are currently working on their next album. Check out the live update thread for latest on the new album (previews of new music should be coming soon!), or follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page for the latest updates.

The Chinese technology company, DJI, has uploaded a tour diary of Linkin Park's tour in China in July last year. The mini documentary features clips from all five shows on the band's tour, which hit venues in Nanjing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Chongqing, and Beijing. The band's tour in China was the biggest rock concert tour the country has seen, and has opened up the Chinese market to many more rock bands. Linkin Park is currently at work recording their follow up to The Hunting Party, which is penned for a release later this year. The second piece of new music since Fort Minor's revival in mid-2015 (which yielded 'Welcome') has just been released. Mike has remixed 'Get A Dog' by Aesop Rock & Homeboy Sandman from their latest EP, Lice, released late last year. The original song sampled 'One Step Closer', where Mike's remix removes the Linkin Park sample and focuses more on the beat, producing "a hard-swinging, quasi-industrial noisescape full of rattling percussion and barking pups" complimenting the actual verses rather than centering around the sample. Listen to the remix here: In an interview with Rolling Stone, Mike said the following about the remix: Check out the full article for more questions/answers. It may not be brand new music, but it's something! Perhaps we'll see more remixes from Mike in the near future. If so, what songs would you like to see Mike reinterpret? Linkin Park is busy at work preparing their followup to The Hunting Party, expected to be released later this year. Follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page for all the latest updates.

Another episode of LPUTV is up, this time featuring the second track from the new LPU CD, "Basil". Mike discusses the track, saying that, "at the time of writing the song... we thought we were writing a song for a video game." He goes on to say that this is where the earliest traces of the music from A Thousand Suns began to take root, too. Funny enough - the actual episode is longer than the song itself! LPU Members can check out the episode here. If you're not an LPU Member - sign up today and get a membership! Lots of benefits come from it. Linkin Park is currently in the studio, hard at work on their follow-up to The Hunting Party, and we're currently expecting a Late 2016 release. Would that mean that the setlist is wrong as well, since it says ITE was performed 5th? ------------------------------------------------------- Every performance of The Catalyst where The Messenger followed should have "Synth Transition Outro" Every performance (barring summit performances) of The Messenger in 2010 and 2011 should have "Ext. Ending" This show and this show have "Ext. Outro" instead of "Ext. Ending" for The Messenger. We have to the "Abbreviated" inconsistency here too.
-
Going through the older pages, there's some things that we need to keep more consistent. Bleed It Out (2008): Ext. Bridge + Ext. Ending w/ Street Drum Corps; Extension names in general for this song are very inconsistent. 2012-present: Abbreviated/Shortened conflict Bleed It Out outro: Do we have a standard for what differentiates "Ext. Ending" from "Ext. Outro"?

LPU Members, a new LPUTV episode is up featuring a track review of 'ANIMALS' from the latest LPU CD with Mike! If you're not an LPU Member, here's a short summary of what Mike says about the song: Mike thinks that somehow, the song morphed into what became 'ROADS UNTRAVELED' from LIVING THINGS. It goes to show how far some demos can go! Mike thinks it's a cool song because of the triplet-style rapping. As with last year, we can expect more track-by-tracks to follow for the rest of the tracks on the CD, as well as the rest of the tracks that are yet to be released throughout the year! LPU 15 is out now and available to everyone - order your package today!

Minutes To Midnight B-Sides/Demos Tracklist

I'd put it like this: Announcement Service Public QWERTY Blackbirds Chance Of Rain What We Don't Know Pale Across The Line Pretend To Be Not Alone No Roads Left -
Our friends at LPAssociation just released Episode 6 of their podcast, and scored a huge guest... Mike Shinoda! Lots of great topics were discussed and some good questions were answered during the conversation... Here's a summary of it: Mike has found some weird things on the Wiki pages for Fort Minor and himself... He referenced the line in 'Until It Breaks': "My mama taught me words, my daddy built rockets" and said that they were true... but taken out of context. Somehow, his dad being an engineer and his mom being a teacher attributed him to Tchaikovsky. Over the coming year, Mike wants to do some projects with fansites like LPA and LPL as 2016 rolls by. Mike talked about one of the band's first big shows - playing in the parking lot of a Best Buy store, and how fans still come up to him and saying "We were at the Best Buy show!" He went even further back to talk about opening for SX10 when they were still Xero... He has memories of System Of A Down coming up, and learning from those bands, HOW they could improve their live act. The recent Fort Minor shows at the small venues reminded Mike of the old times of Linkin Park... playing small club shows on the LPUnderground Tour then going straight to big shows. The guys tour at a pace that's comfortable for them... Mike would like to do one more show a week than they're doing now as well as playing very fan-oriented shows. He doesn't want to make more money from more shows - he wants to have a good time with the fans at an intimate show where he could play things the fans want to hear, like 'No Roads Left'. Mike would love to play in certain places liked India and Latin America... they try their best to go to certain countries but it unfortunately doesn't work that way. A lot of issues come up with the fans that they want to get to the bottom of: Chester himself bought Linkin Park Christmas merch, and literally said: "Our wrapping paper is FUCKING terrible!" The band sent out apologies, adjusted prices as such, and so on to make up for this. They truly care about the quality of their merch and fan interaction! The band is looking at a late-2016 release for the next album, with a 6 month hit-or-miss. The band is working on words and melodies first, for the first time. When they have that down, THEN they ask, "What style should we play this in?" The LPU CD tracks are a good insight into what the band considers a "demo"... that's why they often time lack vocals. The band knew that when they released A Thousand Suns, that there would be a very polarizing reaction to it. Mike thinks that a lot of the gear-based questions like, "Where the fuck is the guitar?!" comes from the older fans of the band, because when they were growing up, that was the focal point of their generation's music, whereas the younger fans have had more of an exposure to different genres. Mike's favorite things about bands like Bring Me The Horizon and Dangerkids is that he hears that they reference Linkin Park as influences, and then seeing them grow into their own sound. The band doesn't really care about trends in music for two reasons: 1) their recording process takes too long to really grow on a song, and 2) they simply don't care. The band had a lot of pressure on them by the "music industry officials" during the recording of A Thousand Suns, which is why there were a lot of tense situations shown in the "Meeting Of A Thousand Suns" DVD. The record label has no influence on what music the band makes. The band goes to the record label not for what they think about the album, but for them to help get it out to the people. The label wanted 'Final Masquerade' or 'Until It's Gone' as the lead single, but the band thought 'Guilty All The Same' more accurately embodied the album. The band, particularly Joe, didn't truly like like the campaign for GATS (like the video)... but they can move on. Mike loves marketing, and setting up different organized events and activities, and just general fun with the fans for promotion of their albums. The picture Mike took with Martin Garrix was nothing more than meeting with him and throwing out ideas Mike loves everything Kendrick Lamar is doing. He loves the visuals, the artistic choices he makes, and the overall feel that he has. He feels that Kendrick embodies Los Angeles. Mike has been listening to Halsey, Wolf Alice, and more - check out his Spotify playlist for what he's listening to! Machine Gun Kelly is a big go-to for him, Mike finds him really interesting. Quick fire round! Most fun album to record? A Thouand Suns - The Rising Tied at a close second. The band's least favorite song as a collective is 'Easier To Run'... Mike thinks it's melodramatic. Mike has been watching Fargo and The Walking Dead... he'd do a soundtrack for them if he could. Mike thinks they should've done a video for 'Rebellion'. It was unfortunately too late into the cycle for that. It's one of his favorite songs on the album. Mike thinks 'Mark The Graves' has a big At The Drive-In vibe. Fort Minor has become more of a fan-centric project now, and for music that Mike thinks won't fit inside the world of Linkin Park. 'Pictureboard' probably won't get released - it has a sample in it, and it isn't even that good. You simply can't just remake Hybrid Theory - it's a different time, and a different place. Fans asking the band to go back to that sound is the reason there's so many songs from that album currently in the set... The band thought that they had moved on from that sound at a point in their career, which is why there was a lack of them in the setlist. Now, the band plays those songs out of respect for these fans. They COULD drop all those songs if they wanted to - all they'd have to do is write a new setlist. Mike doesn't hate playing any songs live. He feeds off of the reaction of the crowd. The intensity and enjoyment of playing shows is kind of drained from playing too many shows over a week. Mike doesn't have a favorite Linkin Park show. Mike finds it interesting that they feel so obligated to play at a venue... setting up in a backyard even sounds like a good idea to him. They're gonna set up a random place like a high school in Boise by using the power of technology. There aren't any songs yet that Mike can say will 100% be on the next album. The band is going to start opening up the process on social media next year. Mike feels it's going to be an important album for the band. It's going to be something completely different from what the band has done in the past. "COM 2 BRAZIL" is the most asked question the band gets, narrowly beating out India and Portugal. Check out the full podcast here! Great work to the guys at LPAssociation!

Trust me, we all know this to be true of Brad

And that's when we knew the budget for the next album was being cut a little short
